Agreed. The question is definitely misleading. It should say "If "Naturalization", give number of certificate, date, and place it was issued."

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetitioner's Birth Certificate for I-129F

QUOTE (jgaines91732 @ Oct 24 2008, 09:27 PM) I am filling out the I-129F and I'm not sure how to fill out the information for the Petitioner's Birth Certificate. I checked the box for "Birth in the U.S." and it asks for "..number of certificate, date, and place it was issued." It was issued by the Los Angeles County Registrar, and the certificate number I have, but the date confuses me. I have a birth date, a date accepted for registration, and a date it was stamped with the seal. They're all different dates. Which one do I use? Thanks.

Just check birth in the US and provide the birth certificate. The second part of your question doesn't apply to you. It applies to those who gained their citizenship in a way that required a certificate of citizenship, on which there is a number, date and place issued.

Are you sure?? I'm a little paranoid about leaving anything blank.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresExact Copies of the packet for interview & extra just in case

You can make photo copies of the G-325A for your copies to keep at home. They won't need originals at the interview - they have the originals. I think the idea behind having the copies is just that if something is to go wrong you can reference...you shouldn't need another original G-325A.

As for passport pics, I put a page in my copy that just said "Katie - passport pictures." They won't need YOUR passport pictures at the interview, they will just need new ones for him.

Oh okay! That makes sense. :) Thanks!

G-325A:

I had G sign 8 blank forms in addition to 8 filled out forms. Turns out we need them because he had a change in address. I've made a couple mistakes (started writing out wrong address; was told they won't accept anything marked through w/ the correct information written otu to the side) and I only have so many blank forms available. There's no way I can have 4 extra forms to send to G for the interview. Could I just send him all of my signed forms and then couldn't he just fill in the forms online, print them off and sign them himself?

Passport Pictures:

When I had my passport pictures taken, I was only given two. Can I just get my passport pictures taken again for him to have with him during the interview?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQ about FAQ: Latin Name
I'm going to do "first last name, first name, middle name" and then "first name, middle name, two last names" in the "other names used". That seems the best way to go considering 1) we'll drop off the second last name eventually, but 2) his 4 names are on his passport & birth certificate.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQ about FAQ: Latin Name

Let's say L's name was Leonardo de Silva Gomes (it's not, but hey, we need an example).

On his passport, it has "de Silva Gomes" as his last name, and "Leonardo" as his given name. The K1 forms L filled out were like this. The I-129F forms and K1 fills I filled out had first name (Leonardo), middle name (de Silva), last name (Gomes)

We had no problems getting his K1 approved, even with the mismatched names on the forms.

His visa has his name as first name (Leonardo), middle name (empty), last name (de Silva Gomes).

When we do the AOS, we're going to do it as first name (Leonardo), middle name (de Silva), last name (Gomes), as he's not "Mr de Silva Gomes", he's "Mr Gomes".

Well now I'm even more confused because G has a middle name and all four of them are on his local ID/documents!!
Let's say his name is

Gabriel Manuel Flores Zambrano

(Gabriel: First or "Given Name" | Manuel: Middle Name | Flores: Father's Last Name | Zambrano: Mother's Maiden Name)
.. how would you suggest filling out his name?

Also, as far as AOS and everything... we would want his U.S. documents to just be "Gabriel Manuel Flores" and then I would take his last name and be "Jennifer Marie Flores" after getting married.

So how does what we do now affect things later??

My fiancé did this:

Family name: Rodriguez

First name: Ana

Middle name: Maria

He claryfied in the cover letter , after table of contents:

"Note: My fiancée's complete name is ANA RODRIGUEZ SOSA, but I am only using ANA MARIA RODRIGUEZ on the forms"

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQ about FAQ: Latin Name

Hi.

I used both of my Fiancees names on the G 3-25A form. Take this for example:

Family Name: Gonzalez Ramirez
First Name: Fabiola
Middle Name: Gloria

I would use his full name on each document so that you wont run into any issues of names not matching. Make sure you are consistent on all of your forms. Write his name exactly as its shown in his passport.

Also please take a look at my K1 petition package that I have on my blog. You may find it helpful when your put together your package. http://fianceek1visa.blogspot.com

I'd also like to add that I met my Fiancee on a language exchange site.. :-) I was practicing Spanish and she was practicing English.. I wish you well

:) Neat! I just wonder.. does that mean he'll have to get his name changed when he's here so he'll be Yohan Zamora and I'll be Jen Zamora instead of Jen Zamora de whatever? lol

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQ about FAQ: Latin Name
3.2.2)...How should a latin name (first name, fathers last name, mothers last name) be put on the G-325A and I-129F?
A..What others have done successfully is to use the first (fathers) last name on the forms. Then in the cover letter, state the full name including both last names and that you are only using the first (fathers) last name on the forms.

So write out his full name and then what? Write: "We're only using his fathers name on the form."??

Should I put NONE or N/A in the other four spaces available for employment history? Or should I just leave them blank? I've heard not to leave anything blank. On the USCIS website it says not to use N/A when it should be NONE. Should I just write NONE where I would write the name of employee? Then N/A for the details (occupation, start date, etc)?

The following items will not typically show proof of having met in the last two years however will show proof of an ongoing relationship: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

We filled out the forms in PDF together. Most were not locked. I did a google search for an unlocked version of G-325 and triple checked the issue date to make sure it was current. Once the forms were 100% correct, I emailed them to my fiance, he filled out his name in his alphabet, signed them and DHL'd them back to me.

Yeah. We filled them out together, too. But then he had a change of address! So I'm now having to handwrite in on the blank forms that he signed. Luckily, I found the extras because I really don't want to put this off any longer!! :)

In Australia our birth certificates DO have something on the back. And if I change my name (by legal name change, not by marriage) they will reissue me a birth certificate and on the back my NEW name will be there. So it makes sense to me. Personally I double-sided my photocopies so it looked like the original. Better they know nothings there than wonder where the missing page is.

Hi Jen, how are you doing.

Oddly enough, I know a couple of people posted if the back of the Birth Certificate is blank do not copy that and send it in. They were approved so it is OK. I do not wish to be contrary or start an argument. But I look at everything very literally. You might have a different Service Center, you very likely will have a different adjudicator at USCIS.

I believe to follow the directions and give them EVERYTHING they ask for and usually give them MORE than they ask for. You cannot get an RFE for providing a blank page of the BACK of your birth certificate. You can get an RFE for NOT providing a copy of the blank page on the back of the birth certificate. I submitted a copy of front and back of my passport including the BLANK back page and was also approved. I did not receive an RFE for sending in a copy of a blank back page.

Good luck.

The people who did your passport photos should have cut them for you and then provided them to you in a booklet. You might want to take the sheet you have back and ask them to cut them per the specifications required.

Though if they're outlined so you can tell where the 2x2 sections are I don't see any reason why you can't cut them yourself.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSupplement for G-325A Employment Question

Jen - 1) yes you can fit the address of employment below the Employer.
2) I am the old man that was married to a Venezolana for almost 23 years. Remember I said Venezuela doesn't have cuisine. You don't have to tell me about the Postal system. In La Pastora, Caracas where her family lived, they never delivered mail. Then one day, someone discovered heaps of undelivered mail in a trash dump along the hills. Basically about 8 months of mail had never been delivered.
3) I submitted mu I-129F in early February and was approved in 46 days. We have slowed down because my fiancee cannot come to the US until November. So we will mail in Packet 3 around the end of June to time her interview at the Embassy. We probably could have done the whole process in 4 to 4-1/2 months if we wanted. CSC was much faster than VSC. Now, I do not know.

So I can use the blank below?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSupplement for G-325A Employment Question

Well, the I-129F instructions say:"If extra space is needed to complete any item, attach a continuation sheet, indicate the item number, and date and sign each sheet."

I know your question is about the G-325a, but I would presume the instructions to apply across the board especially since we are dealing with the US Government.

IMHO, I would say to prevent anxiety, heartburn and a possible RFE, I would have him sign the sheet and send it to you. The extra days you spend up front may save you time (due to possible RFE delay) in the future.

What if I signed it? And well, maybe it's possible I can fit the address in the blank? I've got to ask G for it first though. I just don't want to slow down this process, I'm on a roll!! lol

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSupplement for G-325A Employment Question

The G-325A instructions do not cover the answer to this question. I did read a posting from another member where he swearas with 100% certainty it is not necessary, but he is also wrong a large amount of the time.

The safe thing is to sign and date it but since it is the G-325A, go without the signature.

Technically the instructions for the G-325A are inherited from the foorm that requires it which is the I-129F. The I-129F does require each additional sheet to be signed and dated.

Tell you what, send it without additional signatures and I will accept the responsibility, OK. Posted Image

What if I sign mine and not his? I would have him sign it except for Venezuela doesn't have the most reliable mailing system. Who knows how long it would take for me to get it back.

BTW, did I read your signature correctly?? You got your NOA2 in less than 2 months??
