2 yr or 10 yr card??

Not sure if I am posting in the correct place however, i am confused and just need clarification on something. My husband had his waiver approved on 3/28, he is going tomorrow to update his medical exam and send in his passport to the consulate. they then mail him his passport back and he can now enter the US. We will have been married for two years June 8, 2014. If we wait and fly in to the US on June 9, 2014 can he get a 10yr card instead of the 2yr card? i guess my confusion do they go by the date stamped on his passport that gets mailed to him or do they go by the date of his first POE? thanks!!

Hi, it is actually pretty safe there. my husband had to go twice in September 2013 and May 2014. he stayed at the ibis hotel both times which is walking distance to everything. he said there is tons of security there and everyone is really helpful. there were tons of americans there too and no issues at all. there are bad parts of all places, he used to live in Morelos, and certain parts are bad there too however, as for CDJ, stay in the local vicinity as where everything there is and, dont hang out in the middle of the night, and its not bad at all. good luck.

Best way to file

I am working here in abroad almost 8 years now and we have our petition ongoing since December 6,2012. And we are now at NVC stage. My work permit is expiring March 2014, so we are hoping our case will be complete before march and will have my interview soon. Your wife need to have a PCC from that country as well as PCC from the Philippines and NBI clearance. Goodluck!

I mean we talk on Facebook messenger everyday and Skype almost everyday and when we first met it was yahoo messenger. Do I just take snapshots of different dates or whats the best way? Apply for B2, Marrying in the US, Then applying for CR-1 after arrival of marriage certicate while still in the US

It's legal to marry on a tourist visa (and have the intent to do so) but it's not to have intent to marry AND THEN STAY. That would be visa fraud.

I posted one issue almost similar to this about a friend of mine who was in a rush to go to the states because her B2 visa was about to expire or already expired this month to marry his bf and decided to stay. She left September and after two weeks got married and now saying she applied adjustment of status and get approved. If true, then Im happy for her getting ahead of everybody who are waiting patiently, wishing and praying when to be reunited with their loved ones and I am one of you who is struggling with this visa journey of ours.

Well just to update, we finally called NVC and God, they said they never receive the any documentes yet! They have both payments but no files.

More than heart broken.... We talked to the attorney and she said she send the documents on October 21st, but since she send so many she didn't took the precaution of check for the confirmation, so she send them back yesterday, adding a note to the email saying that this was the second time she send the documents.

I asked her to copy us in the email, so I can be sure they get the documents. She did. Now, wait again. But this time I'll keep my eye all the time to see the progress. We will call on Friday again to confirm they received the files.

Is it normal that the number you gave me is busy and busy?

At NVC the Beneficiary can call up NVC. They will ask for your case#, names of petitioner and benficiary and date of birth than ask what is your question.

You will tell them you sent in AOS and IV package and wondering if you have case complete.

Since you have a lawyer i guess all emails go through them incuding if you got checklisted (NVC's RFE).

Ummmh I'm not sure about the exact dates, everything has been done by an attorney, what I know is that we already paid both bills the AOS and the IV bill on October 16 and the attorney sent to the NVC the documents on the 17, so now we are just waiting. How could we know if the case is complete at NVC?

Income and Asset combination acceptable?

Question: is "what you earned" the total amount of money on your W2(s) or is it your AGI from your 1040? I'm getting ready to fill out my I-134 and am wondering if my assets need to be 3x higher than the total amount of money on my W2s or 3x higher than my AGI (adjusted gross income) in order to meet the 125% line for a 2 person family. USCIS Address Change Error

This happened to me. I believe your petition is being sent to the NVC or something. I called when it happened to my I-129F petition. RIGHT after I got off the phone with them, I got the email saying it had been approved and was being transferred. By the time another officer called me back about my inquiry in regards to the address change, I had my answer- the physical location of the petition was changing.

It may not be that for you, but... that's what I experience and have seen in the past with K-1 fiance visa petitions.

Good luck to you Alan with your paperwork and thanks to you dwheels76 with this detailed information which I think I'll be using this format as well. But I have a question at this point. We do not have kids. I do not own a house or vehicle in U.S. I do not have mutual funds either. I transferred my savings with me when I was moving to Turkey with my wife and helped my mum & dad to get an apartment here.. So, How can I prove those in your list? For example, bank accounts might not be that hard but how can one get the voter registration without being present in U.S? I believe you have to be a permanent resident of the state that you're living in order to get that.. Or my driver's license which will expire in a few months. You can not renew that without being there.

The main reason for my decision to move back is for my children's education.

I am a September filer and everyone on this forum has been inspiring.

However, I filled for my wife from Nigeria and we only got the e-notification of her NOA 1 but didn't get the mailed copy till now.

Please, I need your advise on how this will affect our process if the same thing happens to her NOA2.

Is it better to change our address to our USA address and pick it up whenever I travel, since I have been doing that a lot recently in preparation for the move. I currently live with my family in Nigeria and we are planning to move together.
