PhilippinesCheating
Yup when people started throwing out random statistics that they pulled out of their butt the thread took a nosedive. If you want a heated discussion on these forums just bring up politics or religion. Off-Topic2.gif

PhilippinesCheating
First of all I don't think religion, or lack thereof, is much of a factor so that's not the reason. Secondly a lot of statistics are being thrown around without anything to back them up (this isn't the political forum lol) so you need to discount them or at least take them with a grain of salt. Anyone who knows anything about statistics knows that they need to be representative of the whole to have any meaning, so saying that two of your friends had Filipino wives who cheated on them (just an example) does not mean that most Filipino women cheat.

Like others have mentioned I think the real reasons are such things as age difference, appearance differences & whether or not the relationship is built on real love. For example if he's 55, overweight and not that attractive and she's 22 & hot and he just wanted a trophy wife then you are asking for trouble. When I went to the Philippines to visit my fiancee I saw a lot of couples that seemed like a mismatch based on age and/or appearance and my guess is that these couples are more likely to have infidelity issues. Do I have statistics to back this up? No I don't, but it's an educated guess.

PhilippinesBeen here for 1 week now in Scottsdale, AZ
That's great news! For me & my fiancee when she finally arrives it will be like a dream... we have had so many delays & setbacks that I almost lost faith. If all goes well she will FINALLY be here in November. I plan to meet her out in San Francisco (I live north of Atlanta) & we will spend two days there in the Fisherman's Wharf area. I will look for some sort of Filipino social group for my fiancee so she can meet some people from her country. I suggest the same for you... I realize that being in the USA must be a big culture shock. I also know that women tend to be much closer to their family than men, so being away from family must be hard as well.

Good luck to both of you & I hope that you live happily ever after.

Congrats!! I have a question though... why did it take 5-6 weeks to get the visa after the interview? Is it because you didn't pay the DV a while in advance or another reason? I ask because my fiancee's interview is Wednesday & I'd like to have her in the USA before Thanksgiving.

Thanks nowhereman! kicking.gif yep, i only paid DV a week before my interview so it took a whole lot longer than i thought.. but it's ok, i think you'll be luckier coz they've been working on their backlogs already. the only thing that caused those delays are their backlogs so i'm sure your wife will get her visa soon... Good luck to both of you and God bless!! good.gif

Thank you!! We have had every delay possible... I originally submitted the I129F back in Dec '07! The 2nd I129F was approved Jul '08 & then when we got to the medical my fiancee was told she had to do a sputum test (another 2 month delay). We did pay the DV back in late Jul/ early Aug so it should be good to go. She interviews October 29th.

At this point I know the process inside & out but unfortunately learned the hard way.

PhilippinesMY VISA JOURNEY
My fiancee interviews for the K1 on October 30th and I am concerned about a delay due to improper processing of the document verification. We've had several delays already & I've come to the point where I don't believe anything until it happens (the setbacks have a devastating impact). She paid the DV way back in late July/ early August so everything should be fine, but we will see in a few days. From what I've seen visas are either delivered within a week or it takes several weeks; there seems to be no middle ground.

Hey I lived in a socialist country for 7 years. We were very poor there. Socialism is a complete failure where it is tried.

It is much much better to be poor in the US, I know from personal experience.

The problem with the left is that they know so much that is not. Government elites will dictate and run your life. America is special because of opportunity not trying to be socailist like the rest of the world. For the Obama lovers there are other socialist countries to move to and see the failure.

There is nothing new with Obama. In four years we will all be crying, just remember Jimmy Carter.

A retarded hamster could do a better job than Bush... the right will give someone like Bush a pass yet throw all sorts of mud against the wall when a Democrat is involved. You want to know why you lost? Look in the mirror.

The Dems certainly played a part, but the Republicans should take the lions share of the blame. The Dems didn't have enough votes to override a Bush veto & Bush truly believed that the Legislative Branch was there to pass his bills without question, so whenever they challenged him the Bush cronies called them all sorts of names (unpatriotic being the primary label).

The system is designed to promote compromise between the parties, which would hopefully result in decisions that benefit the greatest number of people, but with the Bush administration you were "either with him or against him" (Bush actually said this). To add insult to injury the Republicans have (as I said earlier) engaged in rhetoric & misinformation over the past 8 years while taking no responsibility whatsoever for anything. It's insulting to say that the blame is equal, because it absolutely isn't.

Going forward there are some encouraging signs, not the least of which is the fact that Bush is leaving. To his credit he has conducted himself in a dignified manner during the transition; it's too bad President Bush didn't act this way during the previous 8 years.

given the dems started off with a majority 2 years ago, i'm not buying that they couldn't block bills, and let's not forget the "statesmanship" shown by pelosi in her reach across the aisle to slap people in the face that didn't earn any points for bipartisanship. add to that the 110th congress starting early 07 had a majority of dems - almost 2 years worth of a dem controlled house and an even split in the senate and you're gonna still claim it's all bush's fault? oh please! rolleyes.gif

The Bush administration set the partisan tone very early on... Cheney & Rove being his primary attack dogs. You have to be really, really biased to not see that. Sure Pelosi & some others lashed back and that isn't the correct thing to do either, but most people tend to hit back after being punched in the face a few dozen times. As for the slight democratic advantage in the house & senate as I said they didn't have enough of an advantage to survive a Bush veto, so they could either go along with whatever he wanted or hold out (and be accused of being unpatriotic, as in the case with anything involving the war in Iraq). It was a damned if you do/ damned if you don't situation.

you're downplaying the last two years again.

It was no doubt a dysfunctional situation, but started by the Bush administration. It's similar to a bad marriage where one partner is initially more at fault than the other, but resentment builds up on both sides and it becomes a constant back & forth brawl.

PhilippinesThe cheapest international call
Rebtel is the only one that I know of that will give you 10 free minutes to start and also only charges 0.13cents landline and 0.15cents mobile. They also will give you a $20 credit just for signing up.

That is all I use because they let you print your phone records, have no dropped calls, clear connection and even provide a local number for the person abroad to call you back for free (costing you nothing).

Anyway, I would recommend them over a phone card ANY day.

You know, I just don't understand why these old guys don't just move to the Philippines - they would have more young "companionship" than they ever dreamed was possible (except for Hugh Hefner) in Angeles City or Subic Bay

This comment is very condescending of Filipina women and is offensive.

My parents' interview was last April 16, 2007 (Monday). APPROVED with flying colors!

Congrats Francel! Natapos din ang nerbiyos ni Mommy ano?

My home has never been so clean, Nor my heart so happy. Sweet Judy is in the bed with the flu, she refuses to go to the doctor. If she is not better within the next day or two...well, I am bigger than her.

Aha, threatening her already!

Oh and Gents, be aware of the cultural differences that you will face...I caught Judy a fresh fish which she promptly cooked...Then I watched in near horror as the beautiful, delicate flower of a woman that I love deeply...ate its head.

YUMMY!!! It would have been priceless to see the look on your face when she ate the head

Have you tried barbequed chicken feet (fondly called Adidas), and barbequed chicken intestines (called IUD). Exotic food with American-sounding names. Careful what you order in the restaurants here next time.

I've always wondered why the fishes and prawns in the US were headless. Can someone please explain?

Congrats Cora! I'm so happy for you! YOU DESERVE IT! At last!

My parents' interview was last April 16, 2007 (Monday). APPROVED with flying colors!
I was with them the whole time! I got a Caucasian consul who was extremely nice and considerate.
We got the 2 visas (parents) the following day (April 17)! Its in our hands!

YEHEY! WOOT! WOOT! Praise the Lord! We fasted for this!
The immigrant visa was colorful and beautiful (it was pasted to the passport======it looked much much better than the B1 B2 multiple entry US visa.
The immigrant visa was not a mere I-551 card. it was an extremely beautiful visa!

If PW is not approved today  , I might be forced to fly to the Phil and run naked around the USE in protest. I can see the news headlines reading, "Black man runs naked around the USE in protest of injustice!" :P

:crying: :crying: :crying: WAAAHHHHH!!! HUHUHU!!!   Sheriff, you’d better get a seat on the next plane to Manila because you’re gonna run naked in front of the USE.

Just giving you a scare guys. Consul said “everything looks fine” so I guess I’m APPROVED! WOOHOOO! Thank you all for your prayers and support.

My son and I arrived at the embassy at 7:15 am for the 7:30 interview. By the time I was interviewed by the consul, it was already 2:00 pm! So many people inside. We stepped out of embassy grounds at exactly 3:00 pm, arrived home at 4:45 pm. Reporting for duty now hehe.

My Filipino pre-screener was super duper friendly. Feeling ko nag-bonding kami (charing!). We made chika-ola for 30 minutes. ~ imagine, my pre-screening took all of 30 minutes! Tagal no? Sabi ko na nga ba, the embassy missed me kaya they wanted me back hehe.

On a serious note, please bring the pink receipt that BPI issues during your interview. The bank validation of my DS-157 lacked a “checkwriter” stamp and it caused me some delay. Good thing I brought my pink receipt so they just stapled it at the back of my DS-157. Please remind BPI to stamp the “checkwriter”.

Will update more later guys. I need to wake up my hotDoug (my fiance's name is Douglas and I call him hotDoug behind his back hihi)

a very happy PW

I wanted to mention one thing here.... My husband told me tht 2 of other couples who were thr also got NO AP. It made me think tht we dunt have all those people on VJ who r getting out with NO AP. Our track sheet list only couple of cases with no ap right. Only our track sheet made me sure tht we will be on ap too.. which lead me to alternative plans to challenge AP and go to Pakistan for rukhsati.... I would have not cared otherwise even if we were in ap since all tht matters to me now is to be with my husband. And I was actually very very excited to go to pakistan in a month and see my husband and live with him. But Allah knows better.

So yeh the point is the actual percentage of NO APs is not quite as low as our AP track list shows. Since we dunt have all those people over VJ who goes to the interview. So those who have interviews coming. Stay hope ful and keep praying hard.

Also one more thing I wanted to mention. It no doubt Allah only who made this happen. I was thinking about how me and my husband have gone through the same frustrating experiences tht u guys goes through during AP.
My nikkah was in august 2008 but my uncle didnt let me apply until Feb 2009. Those 7 months were hard that I spent helplessly. He didnt let me get the mail sent to me by uscis. He use to take all the mails tht i had my name on and I never got my mail. So I didnt know wht was going on until I figured out tht I could track it online. Then the lawyer sent affidavit of financial support papers to be filled in once the case was on next step. But my uncle kept a hold on them and denied tht he had those papers. He spread the wrong news tht the case is already in isb embassyh. I inquired with them but had no records of our case. Things were getting worst, not to mention, since my uncle had to be a co sponsor with me. another 4 months gone in waist after the approval from USCIS.
The next bad thing was... my lawyer sucked (my uncle's personal lawyer)..... His assistant kept sending wrong forms to NVC based on her wrong assumptions. It happened three times tht NVC asked for missing documents and i was unable to figure out which those missing docs were since I never saw the ones tht lawyer was sending them. (She assumed tht me and my uncle were living on different addresses and sent two different I 864s from me and my uncle and an I 864 A from his wife). NVC only needed one I 864 from me and I 864 A from my uncle and thts it. Our case was forwarded to ISB and we were asked to bring the missing docs at the interview. My lawyer's assistant denied tht she was making mistake anywhere and insisted tht NVC is going nuts... I have been like what the hell. She handed me all the docs in my hand for the first time cuz I had to send those to my husband. Tht was the time I figured out where the problem was... and Ofcourse I had to create a scene at their reception desk and in her office afterwards. This was in January. all this fuss with lawyer and NVC took another 5 months.

So the point of telling u all this is... Allah test people sooner or later in a specific situation. I had to go through a lot of stress before the case was sent to ISB.
I was very sure the interview stage is also not gona be trouble free. Me and hubs realized thr were still some loopholes during the interview, like Embassy had my husband's wrong police certificate in their records... this was the one tht NVC refused because of a clerical mistake. My Lawyer actually sent in the wrong PCC again... even though my husband had the right one ready at the interview... but they didnt look at it..... So Yeah....

1 and a half year I spent like tht and I couldnt blv tht it was over when my husband told me NO AP. Your cases might be smooth ones before the AP stage... Mine was not... and Alhamdulillah I got out without AP.

Please stay Thankful to Allah... I had only spent most of this time thinking tht Allah has own reasons. So please hang in thr..... Allah might have his own best reasons to test you during AP... stay Thankful to him any and every way.

Thanks a lot wellmux. We are praying for you too. Do u think it can be next week? Cuz what I came to know from Fiesal's and hopeful's experience tht after printing the visa they send the passport to US (DOS ?) for one last final review. And this process takes about a month. How can it be one week for us then? I just wonder.

Anyways... Im praying for you all. Inshallah it will be over soon.

I dunt want to get too excited. Cuz what I have learnt from VJ is tht isb embassy is unpredictable and random. Guys what do u think. am I getting excited for no reason. They just asked him two questions. and thats it. I will let u know everything in detail... once I talk to hubby in detail ... he went to isb with a frd and went to eat lunch now since he was so hungry. I will talk to him in detail.

What I know for now is... The CO was very nice and he showed him the english original copy of marraige certificate and asked him if he has the original urdu one. He showed him the urdu one. Then he asked him when did u last time talked to ur wife. My hubby was like I just talked to her in the parking. Then the second question was like when did u saw her last time. My hubby was like last night on skype. The CO started laughing/smiling. and thats it. My hubs didnt believe that its over.. so he actually placed his file in front of him containing pictures and stuff. The I 864 which we have been having problem with NVC. He did not look at anything. And returned him the original documents. Then he gave him the white paper with the courier details on it. He told him that he will get his passport in a week.

I am confused about tht part. Seriuosly.... cuz Fiesal and hopeful's passport and visa printing thing took about a month. So I just wonder how come its a week. And yeh people have been like coming back happy from embassy atfer they get the visa but then when they call back to check they get to know that they r in AP. So after getting over all the excitment.. I am kinda worried about it now. we cant say anything for sure right? until we get the visa in hand.

what do u guys say?

Best of Luck Hshah

we r praying for u guys , and also waiting for the good news

Thanks you so much. I cant Thank enough for these prayers. :)

I just talked to my husband. He got out of the embassy. They gave him a white paper with the couriers on it. I will get back to u with details... in a while... I gota go and tell everyone. Its 3 am in the morning here. and I gota wake everyone up. Hahaha... I just called my mother in law... to tell her the news.

They said u ll get ur passport in a week. I dunt know how does tht work. My hubs was saying they were putting people on AP.

I will get back to u guys...
I Can believe for what happened.. I had made my mind for AP. And my wedding plans were 80% confirmed in Pakistan. It was almost confirmed that I ll go to pakistan for my rukhsati in a month. And look what happened...

USmomo..... I actually got ur messages. but I was unable to reply.... even though I so wanted to get in touch with you. I just started my new job and been crazy busy with that. I actually got chance to read ur interview experience. My husband is going to leave for Islamabad (today Pakistan's Tuesday). His interview is on wednesday Feb 17th Inshallah. Please pray for us.

Also I was wondering... when u have nikkah only....and when rukhsati is yet to be done. What do you tell them. Just to show that u r husband and wife, do u tell them tht u have lived together or what? I was just wondering. I havent had my rukhsati yet, we r only nikkahfied. Just wondering u know. Also almost how long it takes for a person to get done with the whole process on the interview day. just wondering if he ll be able to come out around 1 or 2 pm so i would be able to talk to him on phone. I wont be able to sleep whole night until I get to know the results. I have work at 7 in the morning tht day  . Im thinking to take off from work, only if my boss let me :/.

Anyways guys please pray for us. His interview is on Feb 17th (that be Feb 16th evening in US).

I can totally understand how hard it is being away from their love one. This coming July will be two years that I left Pakistan, alot of special occasions and holidays we have spent apart. I'll tell ya , I came back to the states to visit my parents and to make a long story short. My mom passed away Dec 23 of "08". Tried to get our case expedited , so that my husband could meet her , but my attorney said that it could not be done. She so much wanted to meet him , as he wanted to meet her. With all this stress I now get migraines which I never had before.
Anyhow ... Enough of this. But ... I have faith and know we will be together. And yes it's very correct their are alot of people out their that is not as fortune as us. I'm very grateful to ALLAH for giving me my wonderful husband and my new family.
We all must stay strong and have faith in ALLAH that he knows best !

ALLAH HAFIZ

Maryam dont worry, It is only a test from Allah. It is Allah's way to tell us the importance of the person we love. Allah prepares us to spend good and bad times with the same person. I can say for sure, this visa thing only increased my love for my husband. The selfless love wouldnt have been possible otherwise or say I wouldnt have realized his value in my life. This AP suffering only makes the foundation of your relationship stronger. Both husband and wife realizes how much we have suffered and waited to see each other. Inshallah it will be over soon.

You know what... my husband's interview is on 17th this month. And my uncle doesnt care about AP. He thinks of it as going something wrong in the case. And what did he said last week, if the case goes into AP or there are any other problems with the case, I wont keep you in my house.
Haaa... what do I do now? I have faith in Allah and Im not a bit worried about it. Allah brought this situation to me and Allah will take me through. I only take it as a test now and try not to get frustrated.
Keep on praying for urself and others. I always pray for you :)

I have trust in Allah. I have suffered much without parents.. its only Trust in Allah that has made me move forward. I have used 'God Forbids' every where cuz the future threats are real.

The info that I have might not be accepted here on VJ. Only when u ll have a look at the information, You ll be able to judge my state of mind and where am i talking from.

Go google and youtube 'FEMA coffins in madison Georgia, FEMA concentration camps, Martial Law in America, World Deception, Obama's Deception'.

And if you happen to check these out and then wonder why is this happening... Then you must watch the series, 'The Arrivals'.... Its a wake up project. You will only Thank yourself for watching it and waking up on time. This information might be too much. Cuz I saw arrivals a year ago and gradually got introduced to other ideas. You will also understand why is USA giving hard time to Pakistan.

The point where I am standing and from where I am talking, you ll only get it if u happen to be aware of this information. Its spreading all over.. and im glad abt it, that why they call it ' wake up project'.

anyways I am sorry in advance if anyone gets any problems with this post. I typed a much bigger post before, then I had to edit it since I thought It might not be accepted on VJ.
But yeh I know Allah has better plans for us. I am gona meet my husband soon inshallah :D... just like everyone else :)

If anyone is critical about these thoughts then dunt forget im not forcing any point of view upon you. So again be respectful when u comment on this. Cheers :)

Ok guys.... I dont mean to disappoint anyone who are waiting. I am also in a state of utter confusion. Hope everyone knows Olympic 2010 is in February .. Yes this Feb 2010 ... 12th to 28th in Vancouver, Canada. And the level of Terrorist attack is 'severe'.

9/11 proved to be an inside job... There are so many authentic documentaries over it. There is a report that points out all the warnings of possible terrorist attacks.... (not by Al..Q) but by insiders... just like 9/11. It will prove all the warnings and predictions with ongoing and recent happenings through original news sources. Also, This event has also been predicted in a recent novel: BC Red Snow. Also any big events usually have signs in the movies prior to them. In the movie 2010, British Columbia 2010 is mentioned. why that specific place?

Also watch out for possible Martial Law in America. Borders might get seized. This is predicted soon after the American dollar will crash... There are a whole lot of videos about it on youtube. Obama actually signed an executive order for martial law on January 11th 2010. This might only be a first step.

Im keeping my fingers crossed. My husband's interview is on Feb 17th. God Forbids if anything happens, we are almost screwed... Cuz they usually close embassies cuz of more possible threats.... And those who are already in APs... (God Forbids) might get stuck in a longer one. Cuz after the christmas failed attack they started demanding more information from those in APs. What will happen if God Forbids anything bad happens?

Watch out for these things... Im dead scared. If God Forbids anything happens... Without any wait I ll go to my husband. Im going in state of stress again. Cuz life is much more easier in America. But.. what do I know... Allah knows better.... our destiny follows us...

Good luck to you guys....
Please dont hate me for this information. This is not my opinion. This is the info that I have been coming across since last year. Its all over internet.
Please be respectful if you decide to comment on this. Again this is not what I think... this is only what i got to know.

May Allah keep all of us safe and i love ya all.

will they send me an email or letter or do i have to call them. And what are the next steps for Pakistan. My wife is in Karachi so she will need to get medical done before the interview.

If they have your email in their system they will send you an appointment letter through the email. You might also get a hard copy of appointment letter in mail from NVC.

If you have had a lawyer, they will email you the appointment letter and will mail the hard copy of the letter to the lawyer.

When they have your emails in their system, they usually send you email the same day they type that letter. For us I got all the updates from NVC thru emails. They sent us both (me and my husband) appointment letter through emails and my lawyer got the hard copy for it after i got the email. And they took around two weeks to schedule the appointment for us.

NVC schedules interviews during the first two weeks of each month. and then they send out the appointment letters. Im assuming they will schedule your interview in the beginning of Feb and your interview date should be somewhere around March. Inshallah. So expect your appointment letter during first two weeks of Feb.

Also dunt worry about the next step. In the appointment letter they will explain the documents you need to present at the interview.

This is the link they send you in the letter, from where you can get all the specific instructions on everything step by step. Also this link contains information about the medical centers you can get your medical exam done from. Dunt go for medical before you get the appt letter, since they need to see your appointment letter as a proof for the medical examination.

here's the link

Hope that helps. :)

It seems like its now taking 30 to 35 days for the Embassy to return passports with visa after submission.

I am sure the failed Christmas bombing has to do with the Embassy asking for sibling records for CR/IR1 class of applicants as well to put that into the AP process as well. I still have not received any email of asking for the same

Hope all of u hear good news soon

We should thank God that it failed. Otherwise they could have grind us even bad. lolz...
The moment I heard about this news.. I was like .. damn I need to get my husband here before anything else happens... :help:

My fiance and I agree to purchasing the tickets now, but at the same time we have this gut feeling that ANYTHING can slow things down. As a member on VJ said, Islamabad is unpredictable so until he gets the passport back we won't be booking anything YET

I think thats the right step... Its Islamabad embassy after all

Sallam all,
Last week i got an email from embassy asking to provide them my brothers names and same day i sent them my brothers names and their birth dates at tuesday we did confirm from them if they received email and DOS operator said yeh they have updated the case and they received the email and the case is in AP ,
My wife call them every thursday to ask about updates and yesterday she have been trying to call them but their phone lines were bussy and my wife noticed that they have put another voice on their phones that they might be slow to answer them because they are helping Haiti people so DOS is bussy and even today my wife called them but no response from them. i dont think Haiti has anything to do with ISL as ISL is not in Haiti where there was earthquake,

Hopefull786 just ask ur husband to buy tickets as he will receive his visa very soon insha Allah.

what???? ha ha ha ha ha.... I dont believe this. ha ha... Haiti.. They are busy with helping Haiti. Its American embassy in Islamabad. America can deal with it... Embassy doesnt need to worry about it sitting in our third world country (as they like to call it) and they need to get their work done for us. They are in Islamabad to serve us ... not Haiti... Work is being done for them... embassy doesnt need to worry..

They should actually get busy helping us and become more client (applicant) friendly.
