IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT I-864/864A
I understand my friend but the thing is my mother doesn't work anywhere she is just a housewife only my dad file his taxes jointly. So possibly could I include in I-864A for her. If she had been working and had her W-2's and stuff, it would make sense to include her I-864A as well coz then the joint tax return of my dad would have combined income.

What I meant to say is if my income is not enough to meet 125% poverty level only then I could combine my dad's income as a means to fulfill the requirement.

If your dad is a joint sponsor, he would have to complete an I-864. If he combines his income with your mother, she would have to complete an I-864A.

From what I understand If I live with my Dad in the same household, then he can't fill out the I-864 instead he has to fill out I-864A as a household member combining his income with mine.
And if he combines his income with his wife then she would have to fill out another I-1864A. This is what I understood so far.

Just need to clarify something. Perhaps someone could assist me with this:
Suppose I ask my dad to become my joint sponsor who files his returns jointly with my mother who is partially disabled and is a housewife, do I need to include my mother's I-864A as well or just a dad's I-864A will do ?

Appreciate any help to clarify this!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS-3032 Generated?
According to LingChe NVC shortcut guide, once you receive the case number you can go to the barcode website and enter the case number to generate the barcode which corresponds to the case number.
Print that and cut and paste it on top of the form then scan it to email it to NVC.
Anyone, correct me if I am wrong.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNeed a Little help filling out I-864
Hello VJ'ers,

My case I-130 has just been approved yesterday, now I need a little help filling out the Affidavit of Support and avoid being RFE'ed. I have been unemployed living overseas with my spouse for past three years. I had just gotten back stateside and am currently in the process of acquiring county job so I will definitely be using my father ( a county worker) who lives together in the same house and my uncle ( a franchise owner ) who lives in Florida are kind enough to become my sponsors. (We are a total of six family members thus requiring two sponsors-just a a little background).

Question I have is as follows:

My uncle's I-864 form part 1 question 1 I checked box e then second of two joint sponsors--is that correct?
Part 3. Question 8 --checked first box then checked NO--Is that correct
Part 3. Question 9-- left it blank because eventhough my infant child is accompanying my wife but she is US citizen dervived citizenship through me.

My Dad's I-864A as a household member living in same house:
Part 1-Question 8 Checked box c and then checked parent --Is that correct
Part 2- Question 13 Father's name in the blank and on the second blank what number is it referring to??
Reading the I-864A instructions, from what I understand that if another sponsor is involved the second box should not list the intending immigrants name--so, therefore, it should be left bank? should it ? or should it not? --A little confuseed about this!!

A help on this clearing the smoke on this is appreciated.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIst it Allowed to have 2 Joint-Sponsors in I-864
hello,
I am between jobs right now so I am requiring the assistance of my family to help me with sponsoring my wife. I would like to know since my income is zero but dad who lives in the same house has offered to become my household joint sponsor but I don't think his income alone will satisfy the 125% poverty level.
Could the rest be fulfilled by having my uncle who lives in Florida to become a additional joint-sponsor.
Is that possible.
We are a family of 6. husband, wife and 4 kids.

Is it allowed to have a 2 joint sponsors? One from the household member and the other from outside joint-sponsor. In the form I-1864 there is options/checkboxes to indicate I can.
Also, during the last five years he has worked, He has almost 95% out of his 34K of his earnings into 457b plan for retirement. So, his withheld income is between $5,000-$6,000 for the last five years. On, I-864A, what number am I supposed to indicate the total income or the income on which he paid taxes. I am very confused about that. Option B: Or I could just simply have one joint sponsor i.e my Uncle who is self employed and owns a business in Palm Beaches. I know his income from net profit will be enough to sponsor our family + 3 of them. (BTW- I only owe 65 K on my house. The value of the house is worth 150-160K. I have about lets say 10K in the bank.) My Dad has 150K in <br class="Apple-interchange-newline">

My uncle is self-employed and is more than kind enough to offer his generous assistance in becoming my joint sponsor.
I have asked him to mail me completely filled I-864 form along with his past three years of tax returns along with all the schedules like C, D, etc.
Finally a copy of his US passport just the biographic info. page.

Is there anything else that I should be asking from my uncle?

When that happens, you have to inform the consulate/embassy that you have mistakenly opened the yellow sealed packet. I believe the consulate will charge you extra for sending you a new sealed packet. Normally, it takes ten days for them to do that .

I am very happy for you about the baby, and sorry to hear about the father.

It seems to me, boy's father was just not ready to be a father.
Since he entered UK on student visa, it's not like it's easy to simply pack up and go back to original country. It seems he is happy where he is now.
Financially, father should support the baby. Maybe father will realize that he may still want to be part of boy's life.

(4) Old Family Census Register

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMy fience was denied

So, this is Julie and this is my post.
First of all this site has been a wealth of information and support during this very difficult process. However some people are so very quick to judge.
I am shocked by some of the strong comments when people do not know the full story.

It was a very big deal when I got to the embassy and found out my fiancé had in fact been married 3 times and not just twice as he had told me. By this stage I had sold my home and given notice on my job. Nothing is guaranteed I know, but there was no reason I could see that we would be denied.

My whole world crashed at that moment and I was barely able to speak to anyone. I will not forget in a hurry the humiliation and sense of betrayal I felt.

By the grace of God Don and I are together now and it is going well. My faith got me through.

Congrats on your successful arrival and forgive US who were "quick to judge." We didn't know the facts and ran with what was given. Considering the facts, :wow: ...Be encouraged as you step out on faith, even after getting the additional news during your visa interview, instead of your husband-to-be. I still think you're a brave woman to still follow-through after being fully informed! Congrats and Godspeed!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMy fience was denied

if you read previous posts the OP says that he got a reason from the embassy for the refusal to issue a visa so his fiancee must of shown up. also all it would take is for the CO to ask the fiancee if she knew he had been married twice before and for her to think he was trying to catch her out and she has answered with the truth that it was actually 3 times.

the guy is having a hard time and for you to suggest that his fiancee is a liar is low and rather insulting to the both of them!!!!

With all due respect, I mean no harm nor disrespect to these folks' demise, nor to "insult" anyone. I apologize if that is the tone that's read from my posting. Most of this process is nothing but a paper-chase and certain points are flagged before they get to the next step. I experienced a RFE when I omitted my 1st divorce papers, although I included the date with the original application.

There are plenty of posts on this website where the spouses experienced regret after immigration takes place. I am only speculating that PERHAPS this took place before she compeleted the "visa-journey". From the immidiate info giving, it's not impossible, nor "low-blow" to consider. Instead of working on a resolve, the "intended" cut off communication and it appears to be the "end of it" as far as the postings go. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. My two-cents won't matter, either way. The insult is her not communicating with him, not my observation of the affair. I hope the best for them, if works out together or if they have to move on, separately.

I would question how the subject of a "missing divorce" would come up at this time, unless your fiancee' brought it to their attention during the interview, BECAUSE she's had cold feet and she MAY have sabotaged her own interview. From what I've read on previous accounts of interviews, they don't get that in depth. I omitted the divorce papers from my first marriage (of two previous) and an RFE was requested before the NOA2 was granted.

...That is IF she actually showed up for the interview. Perhaps her having 2nd thoughts is a good sign that you've avoided a potential fourth divorce down the line. If she still doesn't want to answer your calls, I'd be prepared to move on. Sorry to hear about this.

Still waiting for the Interview Notification and the NOA2 expires on 10/17/2011.

My fiancee called the London Consulate, last Friday, and they stated that the documents were in order and the status was updated on 09/26/2011, so the Interview Notification should be sent, soon. Fiancee advised them of the 10/17/2011 date and she was told I would have to contact the USICS on my end request an extension. I talked to the USICS this morning and they stated that the London Consulate would have to send ME a letter stating that I needed to get an extenstion and I would have to send the copy of the letter along with my written request.

This paper-chase is getting to be annoying, especially when it's not our fault that they're delaying the process. Calling the Consulate is like calling a "900" number, because they charge a per-minute rate for taking calls! Calling the USCIS is a bother because they're ready to give you a scripted answer before even allowing you to finish asking the question. No one was actually ready for the question of an NOA2, close to expiring while WE'RE waiting for the London Consulate to process the paperwork.

I expected that the Interview would take place sometime during this month (October) and already planned a vacation in mid-November for us to get married (Justice of the Peace) upon her arrival and enjoy some time together. BUT, the bureaucracy is starting to throw a wet blanket on plans! :bonk:

FIVE days until the interview and STILL the expired NOA2 date (10/17/2011) is an issue. I talked to USCIS two weeks ago and was told that I couldn't do anything unless the London Consulate sends a letter stating that I needed an extension. Nothing came, so I didn't worry about it. Vad called YESTERDAY to pay for the visa and they took the money with no mention of the NOA2 expiring. So she ASKED about it and the reply was, I needed to send a notorized letter asking for an extension.

Each time we've called on both sides of the ocean, the rep didn't know and had to go ask someone and gave their repective replies. I sent her a extension request letter via email and that will have to suffice! I'll go through the notorizing, but it may not make it there in time (10/24/2011) for the appointment. I was going to send FedEx, but I'm not going through THAT expense for it to still not be in their HANDS (but in the building) when she arrives on Monday morning.

Congrats ;) Hope all goes well for you. I am getting excited for next Wednesday to come. He has decided that he is not going to take his phone with him to the interview and just call me when he returns home. I am getting nervous about that part of it. I am hoping with time difference I will just sleep through it and he can wake me when he returns. Not sure if I will get much sleep as I think I will be to anxious to see what they say. Pretty sure all will go well and he will be here on Halloween.

From the testimonials I've read, the worst part of the interview process is the anticipation, so it'll be fine! You'd better tell him to go on and take the phone and check it at the pharmacy or you'll be a nervous wreck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTaking Toooo Long!

Nothing to worry about. I looked at your timeline and you sent your things in to London in a timely manner. You don't need to get an extension. London extends automatically, or rather won't even consider your expiry date. If you went a year without sending anything in toward your case, then tried, they could say, "no you expired". It's like a shelf-life date to assume you have abandoned plans. But you are active, prompt to do your part, and waiting on them so they won't hold that against you. You need to do nothing but go to your interview.

We actually had already agreed to just relax and let the 10 day period past since the last action was taken on the 09/26. That would have been by this coming Monday. FORTUNATELY, the interview letter arrived TODAY in the mail. We both will be glad when this process is complete.

We have our wedding scheduled for 11/11/11, I too was worried about my fiance arriving in time for our wedding. We were getting the same run around on both sides. I ended up calling our Local state office and they have a person on there who works on the immigration stuff. I explained what was going on and what specifically I needed help on (getting him an interview for October so he is here for our wedding date). She was very nice and emailed me a consent paper for file our and fax back to her, giving her permission to speak with the embassy about my case. They were closed by the time she got everything in order that day so she sent them an email and the next morning when I called DOS we had an interview for the 12th of October. :) my thoughts to you is to call the Govoner of your state explain the details and they will help you. I'm glad we did, moved things along faster and the call was alot cheaper them him calling the embassy or me being irratated by USCIS with thier scripted answers. Best of luck to you and yours.

Thanks. Fortunately, the interview notice arrived TODAY and is scheduled for 10/24/11. Congrats on your wedding date still being possible! I'll actually be arriving in the UK on that day to RETRIEVE my Bride!

Well, I wasn't "expecting" anything but to encourage fellow Christians. Just as I've seen encouragement posts between Muslims. At best, I may have been "expecting" to network with other Christians, worldwide, also undertaking this VisaJourney, and there is nothing wrong with that. I also live in a country where I have the freedom to post what I did. If omission translates into offending, when I've said nothing offensive to other the faiths omitted, I can't help that. Objectivity goes both ways.

I "feel the vibe of the day" where it's actually taboo to be a Christian (or claim to be), these days. Immediately people take offense that you're speaking against their faith, or non-faith. I understand, so no more to be said. "My Bad."

My apologies for ATTEMPTING to state something positive to Christians out there. I just wanted to encourage fellow Believers in BEING married and not just GETTING married. I'm not attempting to discourage anyone for praying for the visa process. Also, it was not an attempt to prosthelytize anyone from any other philosophy or "persuasion". Replies are defensive and even irrelevant with a religious joke. My bad, peeps! :bonk:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTo the Christians Out There
I notice a lot of posts by Christians who invoke the Lord during this visa process through prayers, scripture verses and such. Just want to encourage US as Believers to "save" your prayers and invoking for when "the rubber meets the road" and you've completed this process and are actually LIVING together as husband and wife.

Love, romance and terms of endearment come easy through email, phone calls, snail mail and video chatting. It's when the two become one flesh, living under the same roof that it gets REAL. The Romance wears off, the terms of endearment start to not be as frequent, and the Love begins to wane. That happens when marrying ANYONE. It's even more likely as we are marrying someone from another part of the world and different culture.

As a Christian double-divorcé, I KNOW what I'm talking about. We're not exempt from being a part of that 50% of marriages that don't make it. Being a Christian doesn't make any spiritual guarantees that it will work, "'til death do us part." The Enemy is busy and out to steal, kill and destroy - not necessarily through the Visa process! A more damaged testimony for the Accuser to use against you is AFTER you're married, things don't go as you dreamed and you wind up estranged and in divorce court.

I'm not trying to preach to anyone, because this is my first concern for my now 3rd and FINAL marriage, and with personal determination and the help of the Lord - Until death do us part!

BE ENCOURAGED!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisa Approved!

My fiance went to his interview today in London and we were convinced he would be denied. We've been preparing for it for 2 months since we learned he had a crime of moral turpitude on his record from 17 years ago. We've almost finished preparing the 601 waiver and I was making plans to visit him in August. So he calls me this morning and says "I'm sorry darling, you won't be spending this winter in Wales. I'l be with you in America!" We were both crying by that time and I still can't believe its true!

Apparently the crime was moral turpitude, but of a minor nature and they allow you one conviction. We knew about this exception, but thought the other three offences (all minor traffic violations) that all happened at the same time 17 years ago would negate the forgiveness clause. Apparently not! The CO said "you're approved" and Graeme was in shock. She had to keep telling him he could come to the US without a problem. The whole thing is so surreal and still hasn't completely sunk in yet.

For all of you who are still waiting, don't give up and good luck!!!
