IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - March 2013
Here's a quick question:

I just got off the phone with Bailey from NVC. She informed me that they had finished reviewing our IV package and that as soon as we responded to the checklist, we'd have a case closure. I asked what the checklist was for. She responded that they were waiting for our Irish police certificate, which we included in the packet. I said so, and even gave her the name of the Superintendent that signed off on it. She named the certificate (the police in Ireland are called the Garda, so it's a Garda certificate) and I told her that yes, that was it. She put a note on it for the supervisor to look at, showing that a Garda certificate IS a police certificate. Bailey then freaked me out completely by saying that it's going to take another 15 business days for the supervisor to review that packet again. Is that right?! They have everything there! So pissed off right now! :ranting:

Showing "paid" FINALLY in the portal! Only took 8 days. Jeez. Now crossing fingers that the snow doesn't prevent NVC from opening tomorrow and Friday. Would love to hear good news at the end of the week, beginning of next.

Ugh, just got off the phone with Abigail at NVC. She kept interrupting me as I was asking my question. I KNOW that you tell everyone that NVC has up to 20 days to review my IV file. THAT'S NOT THE QUESTION I'M TRYING TO ASK!!!! The packet only got there on March 1, I'm not expecting that it's been reviewed yet. What I want to know is, IF somebody picks up my IV packet and looks at it, am I going to be penalized, since our IV fee is still showing as "in process", even though we paid it on the 26th and the money came out the next day. Apparently, they'll still review it, as we were able to print out the barcoded sheet. But damnation, somebody needs to get on the ball over there in the financial department. :ranting:

I just received the checklist. I will correct the information today and send it in tomorrow. I know I made that mistake but then I edited my post to remove the numbers, haha!

I was also trying to figure out how to correct the question match up. I submitted my w2 for 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009. I don't have tax returns since I didn't file them and my parents claim me as a dependent. So, for question 25, do I state that I did file a tax return regardless and for the current income, do I put it for 2012, 2011, 2010 or 2011, 2010, 2009 as per my w2's?

Unfortunately, I don't have the answer to that question. I'd imagine that you'd simply put the total income for each year (starting with the most recent) that is listed on your W-2. That being said, I'd check around first. There have been some good threads regarding tax information and the AOS packet.

Why nervous breakdown! They probably wont even LOOK at our IV packages til the end of the week!

Because I've been a bit of a control freak about this whole process and if the portal says that it should show as paid in 2-3 business days, then dernit, I want it showing paid!! :clock:

So I got a checklist. I understand the last part seems to be the only thing that isn't matching up and so I will have to resend the info, but anyone else care to inform me of what else this checklist might entail? Are any of these false checklists besides the last part of the AOS (I know that one is real)?

The first part of this seems to be a false checklist for the IV package. Not to worry if you've already sent it in. I got one after we sent in our AOS package regarding the IV fee. You should be fine once you've sent in the new I-864 with the corrected financial information.

By the by, you've accidentally included your case number in your post, at the bottom of your checklist. I'd black that out, as those numbers are confidential.

I'm going to go on a little mini-rant here, so for those of you who may have seen it on The Rant thread in Off-Topic, apologies. We paid our IV bill on Feb. 26. The money came out of our account on the 27th. So here we are, six days after paying, still waiting for the "in process" notation to roll over to "paid". Now, I understand that 2 of those six days were not business days, but what's the longest y'all have ever noticed it taking for your payments to be updated?

Day 3 of waiting for that "in process" notation next to my IV bill to move to "paid". It would be great to see it roll over...especially since our IV packet should arrive at NVC today!

Checking in on the March thread! Sent IV package yesterday, should be in NH on Friday. Now just waiting for its review and hopefully a case complete. Then on to interview!

Thank you so much, Saylin, for all of your amazing work! You and everyone else on VJ have made the process (so far) as painless as it can be!

Oops, I talked too soon!
My case is available but my children's aren't yet... Is this normal?

Yes, this is very normal. Even cases that are linked often don't appear online at the same time. As long as you have USCIS case numbers for all of you, you're fine. Posted Image
