How long does it takes for your embassy to schedule an interview?

Hey Ivana I think the only people with recent experience are the ones we all ready know from the Serbia forum on vj otherwise I don't know of any others. My uncle is also waiting for his interview date and I hope and pray they are fast with him cuz than I will know how to base my timeline and plans

Money Problems

You aren't the only young people around. I am just turning 24 and my husband is 27. I have no income what's so ever because I graduated school in December and went straight to Serbia for 2 months till Feb 28th and I am going again on June 6th so it wasn't realistic for me to start working and than what quit it wouldn't look good on a resume. I am lucky in the sense that my country lets us have co-sponsors married or not but I am married and I find that even though it takes a little longer it is easier because he will get his green card right away. It is also cheaper. So my suggestion is if you can make another trip to Thailand and get married and than apply for a CR/IR visa.

i hope that you guys do talk first. Towards the end of this process it gets really stressful for both persons even though one of them is not moving. I suggest you talk calmly to your fiance and than make the decision.

Proof of ongoing relationship for K-1 Interview.

I have a question about proof of ongoing relationship for K-1 interview.

Here is what I have

1. Google chats
2. Skype logs
3. Calling Cards - I am using calling cards to call my fiancee, and talk to her at least twice a day. Unfortunately calling cards don't track the number you call as there is no billing nothing. Is just reciepts will suffice? Or what should I do?

Any other suggestions please.

i read that they will accept the phone cards as evidence as long as you have a listing of the calls you made and the cards correspond to them

Food Stamps

I'm sorry, I don't BUY this post: Not the Food Stamp question but the way I interpit it.
On $1,000.00 per month a single person would qualify for Food Stamps. That effect on USCIS may show or may not. But, $ 1,000.00 per month if you did your research is very short of USCIS Poverty Requirements.
You state: You are working Full-time now. NO. Not in the USA. Even at the lowest wage you have to be making at least $ 348.00 per week (40 hours) X 52 weeks = $ 18,096.00 per year but still is short $ 600.00 to Guildlines. (Based on $ 8.70 per hour - 40 hours per week X 52 weeks)
I'm just saying: (thinking) You can't be working full-time and only have a Gross Income of $ 1,000.00 per month.
YOU TELL ME.
Remember, its not the Net Income on your Check from your Employer but the Gross Income that USCIS looks at....

to plan or not to plan wedding date?

It isn't suggested to make plans for the wedding just in case god forbid something goes wrong or the case takes longer than what you thought. My uncle had flown to Serbia to pick up his wife in Nov. 2010 and ended up staying till the end of January 2011 because they stringed her along for more and more evidence, luckily they only lost out on the changing of a plane ticket imagine God forbid how it would be if you lost a deposit or something (its not small change).

Tourist visa denied!

As someone else said living in 3rd world countries or countries that aren't doing so well (including my country of birth) it is harder to get tourist visas. In Serbia most people that get tourist visas easily are older people with really really good ties to the country. A young person well they can go and set them selves up to be denied for it. I don't know if it will affect your K-1 I hope it doesn't and wish you good luck .

I am 19 and have never worked. (no income)

It shouldn't be a problem. I also hadn't worked and my parents cosponsored my husband. The only thing I had to do which I didn't know I had to was write a letter explaining why I hadn't filed taxes. That letter was requested by the consul after my husbands interview. I gave the letter in and my husband got the visa that same day we gave them the letter.

Question about PoE

which airport will you be going through? My husband went through JFK and well it took us less than an hour with immigration than we went and got our baggage (one suitcase was missing :/ ) about another 10 minutes and got out. So an hour tops. They didn't check our baggage or anything.

I need of advice

I pettitioned my husband with a CR1 visa and it took almost 10 months with an RFE. What I wanted to say in my opinion the time difference between fiance and spouse visa is very small 2 or 3 months but with the CR1 its cheaper and you get your permanent status as soon as you enter the country. The only thing you will have to worry is getting the 10 year green card. With that said as others have said you should take some advice from people who actualy go through the embassy in Nigeria.

TB skin test positive Please help :(

My test came back positive too, when I had a medical here in the USA. They gave me a chest X-ray which came back all clear. I found out later on at an Orientation/health and safety meeting, totally by accident when someone else asked about it, that because I had had a BCG vaccine when I was at school, any TB skin test I had in the future would always come back positive.

High fraud countries

My family is from Serbia as well as my husband who came here through the spousal visa. I dont think Serbia is considered a high fraud country even though its poor. Yes people have a harder time getting visitor visas to the US but when it comes to fiance and spousal visas they go pretty smoothly if you have the proof and documents they need. And they are pretty fast, for example my husband went to the interview and they requested my fathers (co-sponsor) w-2 forms (that i forgot to include in our huge binder of evidence) and they requested a letter from me stating why I haven't filed taxes in the last 3 years. We got all of that the same day called them and they told us to come back on the 30th of Sept. (interview was the 27th). We broguht it back they took the documents and handed us the visa within a half hour. The reason I am saying that is because in some countries it takes weeks for them to review those documents where here it was so quick it didn't give me too much to stress over not being approved the exact day as the interview.

I am not an Australian but I have a handfull or two worth of family members that do live in various parts of Australia and they all say its great, they have all succeeded in life and are living it greatly. Im not complaning because America has given me an opportunity when I needed it most but back in the day if the option for us to go to Australia was open we would of went there instead of here. I know a person i used to work with she is American born of Spanish origin and she got married to an Egyptian born man that was out of status about 8 years ago. She is about 5 years older than him (at the time he was 18 and she was 23) Not a big deal to me at least. Well from day one they tried to adjust status for him with a lawyer by their side the whole time and had a real hard time at it. Finally after 8 years of marriage they succeeded in the AOS he got his 10 year green card because at that point they were married for over 2 years and guess what happened not even a week later he told her he didn't love her anymore and that he thinks they should get a divorce. Mind you the whole 8 years they lived together, he picked her up from work all the time, she said they had a great love life, etc. What im trying to say it doesn't matter what country he is from but the fact that it took them 8 years to adjust status based on marriage should of been a huge red flag to her. Now she is stuck trying to rebuild her life from scratch and cannot even imagine trusting a man at this point because the one she thought she can trust the most lied to her for 8 years straight.

I booked my husbands flight before the interview and thank God when they asked more information at the interview I was able to give them that information because if it had taken longer I would of had to reschedule not only his but my flight too because I met up with him in Serbia. So I suggest wait till your visa is in your hands.

pa sad nemam pojma ni dje je kraj sa krajem. Sto se tice prijavljivanja, samo sam se jednom prijavila i to kod moji familijarni prijatelja posto on je tada zivio u izbjeglickom centru pa nisam mogla tamo da se prijavim.Sto se tice vjencanog lista tamo pod mojim informacijama pise adresa kao i ona na mom Hrvatskom pasosu jer za vrjeme vjencanja nisam bila americki drzavljanin vec samo Hrvatski pa maticar (pijan i zbunjen) je stavio adresu na kojoj nisam zivila od 95 ali nvjerujem da ce to da mi bude problem (ako Bog da).

Ako apliciras za K1 vizu nedobijas zelenu kartu po ulazu u Ameriku. Kad stignes ovamo moras prvo da se vjencas (u roku od 90 dana po ulasku u zemlju) i onda da apliciras za AOS (adjustment of status) neznam tacno koliko to dugo uzme i onda tek dobijas temporary zelenu kartu na 2 godine. Nakon te dve godine ili tacnije 3 meseca pre nego sto napunis 2 godine odkada si dobio kartu apliciras za permanent green card koja traje 10 godina. Poslje 3 god braaka (ja mislim da broje od prvog dana odkada si dobio green card znaci nakon 3 godine za kartom) mozes da apliciras za drzavljanstvo.

Sa CR1/IR1 vizom dobijas zelenu kartu po ulasku u Ameriku (dodje u posti za manje od mjesec dana ali odma se brojis kao green card holder). Sad na koliko godina ta karta traje se zakljuci po toku koliko si u braku. Ako si u braku od manje od dve godine onda dobijas temporary green card (2god) a ako si vise od 2 godine u braku dobijas permanent green card (10god). Ako dobijas onu od 2 godine isto apliciras za permanent kao sto je navedeno sa ovim gore. Tako isto za drzavljanstvo mozes da apliciras poslje 3 godine sto imas kartu.

Ti izaberi koja ti se viza vise dopada i koja ti je bolja opcija. Za mene je bila ova druga jer sam znala da ce moj muz odma da dobije zelenu kartu i da do sledece godine nemoramo nikakve papire da radimo kao sto naprimer sa K1 moraju da rade AOS. Process nam nije dugo trajao (manje vise 10 miseci racunajuci da smo imali i RFE, da nismo mozda bi bilo krace).

Odbili su me zato sto je sudija na razvodu napravio neku gresku tj. nije napisao datum razvoda tamo gde treba i ispod potpisa nije pisalo stampanim slovima ime i prezime sudije tako da oni smatraju da ja nisam slobodna za vencanje sa verenikom. Bila sam u sudu i napisali su mi propratno pismo tj. supervizor suda je dao dokaze da je razvod zavrsen i koji je sudija bio i da je njihova greska i da original vise nikada ne moze da se ispravi nego da se kad god mi bude trebo razvod salje i propratno pismo koje potpisuje supervizor suda. Eto vidis zbog cega gubim vreme, ja sam otisla u sud i trazila dokaz da sam razvedena koji mi treba za USCIS i oni mi dali uredno plaila i ko se nadao da tu postoji greska. Poslala sam molbu i neka mi je Bog u pomoci. Strasno, to se zove baksuz....

ow bas baksuz...nadam se da ce da ti otvore slucaj i prime to pratece pismo. Da su bar dali RFE ili nesto a ne na licu mjesta odbili i to ne za tvoju grjesku.

Ljudi imam jos jedno pitanje u vezi medicinskog pregleda....pretpostavljam da svi primaju neku vrstu vakcina tamo. E sad sta se desava ukoliko je imigrant zensko,majka od skoro i usput doji? Da li ce biti opcija ili primi ili ne ides tj.prestani da dojis dete ili postoji neka druga opcija?

Ja mislim da i dalje moras da primis te vakcine ali nisam sto posto sigurna, mozes da ih nazoves i pitas. Moja ujna je primila sve vakcine doduse nema djece. Jedino sto su joj rekli jeste da nepokusava da zatrudni ja mislim sledecu godinu dana.

Pozdrav svima. Suprug i ja bi trebalo da pocnemo sa procesom dobijana CR-1/IR-1 vize, pa mi je potrebno par objasnjenja vezano za proces. Pre svega da objasnim situaciju....Upoznali smo se prosle godine u aprilu.Ja sam podnosila zahtev za turisticku vizu u julu-odbijena sam (pretpostavljam iz razloga sto su mislili da cu ostati tamo da se udam).Nakon odbijanja tadasnji decko,sadasnji suprug je odlucio da dodje ovde i od septembra zivimo zajedno u Srbiji.Vencali smo se u junu ove godine a kasnije istog meseca smo dobili i nasu bebu :)E sad...prvi deo procesa (UCIS)mislim da smo razumeli u potpunosti.Popunis I-130,posaljes im sve kao sto je navedeno na sajtu i posaljes.Nakon sto oni odobre slucaj se salje u NVC (ovaj deo procesa mi je malo zbunjujuci).Kada NVC kompletira slucaj isti se prosledjuje ambasadi u BG. Nedoumice su sledece: kada se slucaj prosledi NVC-u sta dalje sledi? Da li oni traze dalja dokumenta ili bi mi trebalo unapred nesto da saljemo.Obrasce koje treba da popunimo a oni salju pretpostavljam? Kada je najbolje da se izvade potvrde iz policije i suda o nekaznjavanju? Bilo kakvi saveti bi dobrodosli:)

Petrovic- Zao mi je sto su te odbili. Dali su te odbili u USCIS ili NVC fazi? Sacekaj pismo vidi sta kazu pa onda gledaj kako ces da nastavis dalje. Ja ipak nebih podnosila nikakve zalbe ko zna koliko to dugo moze da potraje radije bi se vjencala i podnjela za CR-IR vizu. Sa srecom! Javi nam kako sve prodje.

Ju?e stiglo pismo od USCIS, izmedju ostalog piše da je petition approved i da je poslato u ambasadu. Da li je i kod vas tako pisalo ili samo kod je tako, posto svi kazu da prvo ide u NVC, a onda oni salju u ambasadu i obaveste te emailom?

Nisam sigurna ali ja mislim da to pise samo sa K1 vizama. I dalje ces morati da saradjujes sa NVC po mom misljenju ali mozda neko ko je radio K1 moze bolje da pomogne.
