I used only my fathers income and when i filled out the forms he was my household member not co-sponsor. While I was in Serbia I had to send my birth certificate to prove me and my father (who is my household member) are related. So i had to get it translated from Croatian to Serbian and from Serbian to English which cost money and a lot of time. But in the end it pays off. Me and my husband didn't get to spend our one year together either but his interview is in 10 days and believe me its worth the waiting because the prize at the end is great. I didn't have dates on my pictures i printed about 12 pictures on 3 pages of paper with an explanation under each pic of who is in the picture and when it was taken. My pictures ranged in a 4 year period and not the same vacation but you might be okay. I did the cr1 visa since we were six months shy of our 2 year Aniversery, it took us 10 months due to an rfe and me being slow and doing things last minute other wise it would of been a little faster. But in my opinion it was the better and cheaper option because all we have to do is adjust for the 2year green card to a 10year next year. And he got his card in less than a month that he was here. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	I married a refugee	I arrived to the USA as a refugee from Serbia through international rescue committee maybe you can contact them and they might be able to help with the passport situation. I know that if you come as a refugee you might not need a passport I didnt have one. But your husband is not comig as a refugee so I am not sure how it will work. Do they have emergency passports like the USA gives to Green card holders that don't have passports? I wish you the best of luck. Several of the senior members here including me, strongly advise that the US Citizen fill out ALL the forms possible throughout the process. What is critical is the correct person signs the forms, not who fills them out. My suggestion for the occupation question is to write "To Be Determined" unless there's an actual job offer on the table. I agree. I don't know about all of you but when I start the papers for my husband-to-be (will be husband in a week and 2 days ) I plan to have everything filled out and sent to him to sign because for 1. he doesn't speak great English (plans to learn once he gets here and we communicate in my/his native language) 2. It's been almost 3 months and I am all ready dying inside without him. I don't know the next time I will be able to go to Serbia because it might be better for me to stay here and work till he gets his visa (which we are starting in August :0). We will see what happens, who knows maybe i decide to buy a ticket and just stay over there from october till whenever he gets the visa for here. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	What do you guys think.....?	Why should people learn English when this country makes it possible for them to go on living here without knowing any. You have translations almost everywhere especially gov't. offices/buildings with languages such as Spanish, Russian, Chinese, French, etc.. I mean when I went to take the Neutralization exam last month they had Spanish directions to the seating area, bathroom, etc. (and you are going there to become an American, you are expected to learn English). As for bringing family over here, what is the trick? I have a few members I would love to bring here legally (other than my husband whose process is about to start in a week or two). This is a country of immigrants and if you love languages enjoy it. I love the area I live in because so far I have become almost fluent in Spanish, I can greet a person in Arabic and wish them a healthy meal, I can curse in Chinese as well as some of my American-Chinese friends (but I wont do it on here), and all my friends know how to say at least "how are you?" in Sebrian/Croatian/Bosnian/Montenegrian/Macedonian. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	This whole thing will make me crazy	So I have been studying everything here and even so I am still at a loss. I have all the applications necessary to send out in order to bring my husband here but I really don't have that much evidence. I have our wedding photos, and other photos as well. I have text message records (but my cell is in my parents name don't know if that is a problem). We haven't really had an oportunity to co-mingle our bills or even live together since I am in the US and he is in Serbia. I guess the question is what do I do? What can I give them as evidence of an ongoing marriage? The whole affidavit by friends sounds good but I dont even know where to have them start. I don't want to wait for another two weeks for friends and family from back home to write one and than to have it translated.
