I had most of my immunizations in the 60's also. What I did is...I went to my Dr and asked to have the blood tests done to check immunity. All came back ok except I wasn't immune to the mumps so I had the MMR vaccine. Also I had the TDaP immunization as it had been a number of years since I had one. Flu shot I get every year anyway. It only took about a week to get the blood test results back.

That is the correct address to send your packet 3 to Montreal. You can take your packet 3 to DHL and send it to that address. You ONLY send the forms and the signed checklist to Montreal with packet 3. DO NOT send any of the other things on the checklist (such as your birth certificate, passport photos, etc) Those all go to the interview with you.

You don't send the letter of intent with packet 3, that goes to the interview with you. All that you send in packet 3 is the signed checklist with X's on the lines of things you will provide. And the forms that you filled out. DO NOT send anything else. Your photos, criminal record check etc all goes with you to the interview.

Funny I just posted a question similar to yours. If you do book it, make sure that you can change the ticket if you can't use it the day it is booked. I think most airlines charge somewhere around $150. to change reschedule. Check with the airline for their policy. $150. charge for changing it compared to $1000 for a ticket after the fact.

If during your K1 interview, the adjudicator decides that they require more information, will your visa flat-out be denied or is there an opportunity to get them the additional information? If there is an opportunity to get them this information, how is done? Do you mail in what they want and they contact you about coming in again or...?

Well, im just wondering here ..... why did we sign up those accounts there if they dont do anything with them? How are we even going to get an e-mail notifications when obviously the whole site doesnt work?? Does that mean that im not even supposed to wait for a confirmation email in case we get the noa2? Or is it only going to be send to the petitioner? Well, thank you though... im about to stop checking it :) it is only making me stress anyhow.

Vermont is not processing anything obviously so why bother with the uscis site. They even may go back in time, and send pigeons instead emails :rofl:

I did not receive an email or a text throughout the whole process from USCIS or the consulate. The NOA2 is sent to the petitioner.

I just checked mine as I hadn't checked since we received our NOA2 in November 2010. It still says "initial review" My interview is next month. Some people never get a touch from beginning to end so don't stress over that site.

Can you just go to your supervisor/boss and ask them to write a letter for you on company letter head? It just needs to state your position, how long you have been there and how much you make yearly (which you can get from your W2)

I was adopted at birth as well. I am taking the new birth certificate with my parents names on it. I also asked my parents for the adoption certificate and legal paperwork to take with me just in case. I wanted all my ducks in a row. My interview is in 2 weeks. If you want to message me after my interview I will tell you if they asked for anything other than the birth certificate :-)

Do NOT send the photos in with packet 3, you take them to the interview with you. You will need 3 for the medical and 2 for the interview. All you send in packet 3 is the checkist and the forms that you filled out and the confirmation page. Do not send anything that is on the checklist, that is for you to make sure you have it ready for the interview and they know that you have it ready.

I used one big fastener to hold it all together. They didn't lose mine or anything in it. I didn't bother with tabs or dividers. I had heard through the grapevine that they just tear them off anyway and put it in the order they want it. But now that you have it done and it looks like a piece of art. Stop procrastinating and get it in the mail to them :-)

I was denied entry at a Canadian pre clearance. It had no effect on my visa. When asked at the interview if i was ever denied access I told them yes. The reason was no strong ties to Canada. I had to sign papers, was finger printed and photographed (treated like a criminal basically) Then took my stuff and left. A few weeks later I entered the US with no problem for a visit. I had strong ties with me that time.

You are most welcome! Your 10 days is up today. Maybe wait another day or so just to make sure. Since I didn't wait the 10 days, they gave me a letter saying that they would process it within 4 weeks. If I didn't hear anything after the 4 weeks to go back and apply again. It won't be 4 weeks until the 28th. In VA you need a SSN to get your drivers license switched over.

All you need to take is your passport with your visa in it. They will ask a bunch of questions......Have you ever applied before, say no even though you checked the box on the forms. K1's do not have that option do you did not apply for one before. They will also ask about previous visits to the US. I am attaching a link. I took this with me in case I ran into any trouble. But didn't need it.

I went to the Social Security office about 7 business days after my entry. They did not have anything in the system yet from DHS. They recommend that you wait 10 business days before you go apply.

The I-134 is what you need if you are applying for a K1 visa...I am assuming that is what you are applying for since you said for your fiance. Your father will fill out the same form. The I-864 is used later when you file for your AOS. Good luck!

We did it ourselves...In the beginning Kenny went to see a lawyer for a quote and to find out a little info. I started doing some research and found this site. VJ is a wonderful site for reference and help. People are generally helpful and friendly. From what I have seen with lawyers is that they actually slow the process down. It's like having a middle man in the process. Check out the guides and the forums....I think that you will find that you can do this yourselves and save a lot of money and time.

Betty....I just gave all my stuff to the moving company 2 days before I left. They did not charge me for holding. I filled all the customs paperwork out (unaccompanied goods) On the bottom of the forms I wrote my visa number as there was no place on the forms. Once I got through my POE I called the shipping company and told them to release my shipment. It all went without a hitch.

Unfortunately you got someone that doesn't know much. Montreal does not schedule for you for K1 interviews. Montreal does not take phone calls. You can email them but I wouldn't bother. What I suggest is call back, you will get someone different. Now that you know that packet 3 has been logged ask if packet 4 has been sent. You should wait until you get packet 4 or word of packet 4 before scheduling your medical. They will ask you when you call to book the medical if you have received your interview letter and you take that with you to the medical.
