Wish I could answer all your questions Lisa. . However only one I can answer is.. other than gatheting all the evidence you require for the AOS and IV packages.. There isn't anything you can do other than wait for the case number.
As for the PCCs. . Find out when they will expire. If they are good for 3 months and up.. i think you should go ahead and order them..

We haven't been approved yet, PD Aug 6 and transfer date Feb 3.

We heard back about our i129f though!! Strange because we submitted it so late, January. Just thought we'd let you know, not sure of the relevance!

On February 20, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E).

So happy for everyone with their approvals!!!!! Yeaahhhhh baby!!! Giving us hope that our approval is just around the corner smile.png

Hang in there! Usually that kind of update has meant an approval is around the corner!

I think the reason why you have waiting so long is probably because the I-130 is trying to catch up to the I-129f???

Here is hoping that they are both at the same service centre and that you will have your approval by tomorrow!

LOL, why cant they use the same words, typical USCIS

Why can't they just send one!! lol!!

Maybe we should draft a transfer email/text/update for them and send it through. Something along the lines of..

Dear extremely frustrated petitioner. Your I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE, OR ORPHAN was finally transfered to X Service Centre, and is now being processed. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made. or if the office needs something from you. We apologise for your wait, but we really don't care if we make you wait much longer!!... ETC!!!

Others in this forum can confirm they got the same "wording" before getting transferred to either CSC or TSC.... If you went "local", you would be the 1st.

BTQ, my "wording" was exactly the same as yours!

Here is the case status updates we got.. Each one worded differently..

Right on both counts, totally normal and doesn't matter in the slightest. Your (hard copy) transfer date is based on the first notice you received and the text in the electronic notices isn't accurate anyway, so there's no need to pay attention to them. From here on out the only thing that matters is NOA2!

its completely normal.. now wait for transfer hardcopy to know which service centre it was sent..or you can call them.. other than that.. more waiting for the NOA2

I think an email goes off every time they scan or punch in the case number or whatever else they do to it.. Should get a 3rd one too.

B & G, thanks a lot.

Can someone advise whether it would be better to file married jointly provided I, the beneficiary, have the SSN?

Read through this, I think it pretty much gives you an answer.. http://www.visajourn...9-filing-taxes/

B & G, thanks a lot. This is very helpful.

What is the ITIN number? Does it make a difference if I already have a SSN and have lived in the U.S. for a long time before our marriage?

If you already have a SSN then you do not need an ITIN. Basically an ITIN is a tax file number for a non-resident, thats never been issued a SSN.

Since you have a SSN, I will leave it to someone else to answer because I really don't know what the procedure is. Never researched it as I don't have a SSN.

Otherwise, speak to an accountant to see how you should be filing and what you need to file.

Wish I could be of more help!

This is fantastic! Congrats to all transferred beneficiaries!

It is amazing how common problems unite people...

I am waiting for approval for 16 days already... I hope it will be soon.

Also, can you please tell me how your U.S. petitioners filed taxes? Should they do it now or after approval (I think there is no difference, but maybe I am unfamiliar with some details on that)? How should they file if we are married, but live in different parts of the world?

My husband is planning on filing married, filing seperately. It was too much hassle for us to go through and issue an ITIN number for me, which is something you wil have to apply for if your spouse wants to file married, filing jointly.

I don't think it makes a difference when you file, just as long as its done before April 15th.

Should we get a case at NVC before my husband files for his taxes, we are planning on using 2012 tax transcripts as the most recent year of taxes on our I-864. Then I'll just bring with me to embassy interview his 2013 tax transcript which will be available after June or July 2014.

For more info read the first 2 posts on http://www.visajourn...-february-2014/

Saylin gives great advice for the whole NVC process, and since it is tax season, there quite a bit of information and links to help you figure out what you want to do.

Is it true that there is an app for tracking the case?

Yes. There 2 apps actually. I have a samsung note 2. (android) One is called Check USCIS Case Status. The developer: MACHAMBI.

Second one is called USCIS Case Status Notifier. The developer is Spinach Mobile LLC.

You Can find both at the Play Store

I have both of them on my phone, you get a notification as soon as any changes are made on your case status.

You're in Maryland! I'll be in Virginia, we're practically neighbors! Yes yes USCIS move ya butt!

Well hello there neighbour! We are southern Maryland so not very far from you at all! I do hope we get an email for approval today.. fingers and toes crossed! That would be amazing!

Keep checking your status online, you may get an approval before you get the transfer hard copy!!!

You think?! Hopefully!! Lol! As for checking status, I discovered this nifty lil app for my phone called USCIS Case Status. As soon as case status changes online, the app updates and sends a notification.

Got 3 notifications when status was change when our file got transfered.

So I don't bother with checking USCIS website.

Instead I just stare at my phone, willing it to go 'PING!' rofl.gif

Since neither your signature nor timeline are up to date, when did you send in the AOS package? The IV package? The DS-260?

It's currently taking around 30 days from when you last submitted something for them to review it.

AOS Fee Paid 14 Feb 2014

IV Fee Paid 10 Mar 2014

AOS mailed in mid April - right after taxes.

IV mailed in mid May

DS-260s completed the first week of June except for one child that was completed June 25th

I don't have the exact dates here unless they're online some place I haven't looked.

So does this mean that my NVC timeline might complete in around 3 weeks?

Our case has been at the NVC a while but I'm just now posting in one of these threads...

Our online IV status changed as of either Friday or Monday.  Here's our current statuses:

DS-261 COMPLETED

AOS: PAID / NA

IV:  PAID / COMPLETED / N/A

Does this generally mean they should be wrapping up our case in a few business days?

The problem with sending the original we have is that it might be the ONLY copy of this existing anywhere. Honestly, its hand written in Russian with CCCP. So basically he was born in a country that no longer exists to Ethnic Germans... kicked out when he was 3mos. old sent to a country that now also no longer exists!  I did put this over at the NVC thread.. so maybe I will get some info there.

Shot in the dark but.. I think USCIS has secondary evidence you may submit instead of a birth certificate (I think it talks about it in the I-130 instructions). Maybe NVC has something similar? Or they may accept it if you offer?

O and the portion where you have the individual service centre stats.. I don't know you meant to do it that way, but there's no percentage for the approved cases, just ratio.

Fabulous idea!!! Ha!

I imagine its for more evidence of a bona fide marriage. I hardly sent anything in with the k3 paperwork, just some basics. I sent all the good stuff with the i130 packet that I sent off! I have no idea what to do with it haha. If my i130 moves along shortly with no problems, then I'll probably just skip the k3. I was just really hoping the k3 would come through so hubby could be here in July for the big day with no issues! Now we'll have to test our luck with VWP and customs...sigh..lol

Ahh I see. I know what you mean.. I hate that they're not actually processing K3's separate from I-130s :( I put all my eggs into the K3 basket before finding VJ.

Anyway, I'm sure he can come visit! As long as he shows a reason to go back, he should be fine.

Not trying to expedite, well, it would be nice. But since I got an RFE I'm thinking it should be pretty decent evidence, I'm assuming. Bah! Thanks though!

Was the RFE for more evidence of bona fide marriage? If so, definitely send that in :D

Btw, if the RFE is for your K3 and not your I-130, I think you can just ignore it. I think someone else got the same thing a while ago and just let it be since they'll close your K3 soon anyway. It's up to you though. Good luck :)

Oh also, is there a way I could maybe use our pregnancy as additional evidence? I can't provide a birth certificate because she's not born yet (JULY!). Would a letter suffice? Could I just write USCIS up and be like "Hey, we're having a baby, due in July. So speed it up!"? Sounds like solid proof to me! Maybe we'll get a sappy officer overlooking our petition and they'll be like "awwe! a baby! approved!" hahaha. I think I'm just experiencing crazy pregnancy dreams/daydreams.

Anyways, should I write a letter with my RFE response saying we're having a baby? Can't hurt, right?

That makes sense, just not in the USCIS world. Pregnancy isn't grounds for an expedite. Sorry sad.png

Congratulations on the pregnancy though!!

EDIT: That said, it couldn't hurt :)

Nope. Here's what it said. Someone must have worked on it because of the 'post decision activity' thing. The separate letter that came with the NOA2 also said that I should call them if I don't receive a decision within 60 days. The whole thing is way too confusing.

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On March 7, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results

listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current

processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov under Check Processing Times.
I mean, it does mention the department of state, but not that it's actually been passed to them

*scratches head too*

I'd say that's an approval, though they haven't sent it out to the NVC yet. Definitely not just a transfer notice..

It's hard to say what VSC has been doing, to be honest.. But I am really keeping my fingers crossed for all VSC'ers! and the rest of us! smile.png

Yes, I-130 petitions started going directly to the service centers around Oct 21st.

However, we need to remember that I-130s are also filed for Adjustment of Status, family preference categories, Provisional Waivers..

not only for immediate relatives of USCs.

Also, this- http://www.uscis.gov...alsh-actpdf.pdf

Cases that fall under Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act ('AWA') have been (were? not sure if this memorandum is still current) going to VSC.

And thank you, you're so sweet! I am planing on totally erasing this 'experience' aka immigration process from my memory! biggrin.png

Thanks! Me too!

I never thought of it like that. I hope that the AWA filers are processed completely separately from others (i.e. I don't wanna be held back because of someone with an AWA conviction). I guess we won't know what's happening with VSC for another couple of months. :/

:) Ditto. US immigration has plagued my life for far too long (a lot of people close to me have had prior stressful encounters with them). All I can say is http://cdn.memegener...0x/46793652.jpg

Anyway, stay strong! And message me if you'd ever like to vent :)

Tala202, you bring up an excellent point!

Everyone: timeline.gif timeline.gif timeline.gif

It makes me want to individually email each and every single one of the Vermont filers and get them to fill in their timelines ranting33va.gif

Tala202FemaleCanada2014-03-04 16:21:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSeptember 2013 I-130 Filers

Just last week, when September transfers started. None of the other 'months' were transferred to VSC. (You can find the link to all the spreadsheets in my signature)

So there is no data for this center.. we have to wait and see what happens.

This is USCIS data on VSC (as of Dec 31) dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=4&office=6&charttype=1

This does not include the transfers, as VSC has only just now started receiving them.

Ah you're right. There seem to be cases that have directly gone to Vermont since ~May 2013 that haven't been approved though.. So I guess they're working on those? (but I thought they didn't send petitions directly service centres prior to ~Oct 22nd?). I thought I had a pretty good grasp on this process, but VSC is completely throwing me off sad.png

EDIT: Looking through timelines again, it seems like a lot of people haven't touched their timelines in months, which confuses me even more ranting33va.gif

(Btw, sorry about your NSC transfer. I get how difficult that can be, but please stay strong and don't let it damage you! You and your relationship are far more important than anything else. Plus, someday you'll look back and this'll all be a vague memory in the big picture of things smile.png
