You have nothing to worry about. You are freaking yourself out for no reason whatsoever. I don't think that the previous issue will come up again. If the embassy wasn't satisfied with your proof, then they wouldn't have issued your visa. Take a deep breath.. you will be fine!

I really need your guys' advice. I'm at my wits end. Here's the thing :

I'm abroad with hubby in Australia
I've been here since July 2013 and my visa here expires this July 2014
I really want to go home but don't want to be separated

What do you think about us going home next month TOGETHER to US with return tickets to Australia? We could spend three months in US then come back to AU for his interview (I can get a tourist visa when this one expires).

Do any of you have spouses visiting the US? How is boarder control? Have any of you gotten sent back on arrival?

I know this is expensive but I've had it. I don't care about money.

I'm terrified that we will get to US with proof of pending I-130 and return tix and they still turn us down and send him back.

Help please!!!













If you leave together he will almost certainly get denied based on what I've read. Your best bet would be to go ahead and have him join you at a separate time. Their usual problem with I-130s is that if you don't have your NOA2 yet, you may get rejected while in the US and decide to stay.. but if you are past that you have a better chance.. with a set interview date, you're pretty much good. Just make sure he has a lot of proof that he'll return to AU.

It's becoming impossible to get any govt assistance now if you are sick. Dying people ordered to work and stop treatment or lose benefit. Suicide rates are rocketing. People are being forced to work for free. There has been no new houses built for decades so we have a housing crisis that is as bad as Venezuela. And racist propaganda has brought a far right party very close to power. We are regressing and it's very scary.

That's insane! I had no idea! Any end in sight? Or is it all downhill from here?

In point of fact I actually consider it odd that so many Iranians are on here, considering that the US has not had formal diplomatic relations with Iran since 1979 (I know our business is done there by the Swiss embassy but it still seems to me that this would tend to make everything a lot more complicated). 

Yea that certainly makes it difficult. However, Iranians are obsessed with America and think it's the greatest place ever. The government is very anti-West but most of the people loooove Americans, so they try nonetheless.

 

Got you. Thought something new had happened that I was unaware of. I feel for you, truly. Apart from religion, the UK is becoming like that.

Nothing more since the sanctions. :) Really? How so?? I had no clue.

Also not to mention the Western sanctions that have totally crippled the economy and the governments single-minded devotion to nuclear and military development at the cost of consumer goods and services. 

Good point. Crime is also at an all time high because of the crippled economy and there's no import of medicine etc., so most things used now are expired. There has been many a botched surgery in the past few months.

Oppressive regime, very few opportunities for any sort of growth, the whole enforcement of religion thing, amongst other things. I got in trouble with the police there once when I was 13 because I had my hair out -_-

I wouldn't worry. If they stop doing October and November, it'll push their 5 month goal back to 8 or 9 months. I doubt service requests help but getting your congressman involved doesn't harm. I have no idea why people are over a year waiting but I doubt they'll let it happen again. The reason they are moving fast(ash) now is because they got rapped for letting that happen in the first place.

I'm just hoping that they don't slow down again now that they've released their goal numbers and DACA's starting up again. Especially given that they're taking advantage of Philippines expedites and random quick approvals to fudge their numbers.

I'm either too cynical or too wise - but I've witnessed efforts to help one's own cause have the opposite intended effect. I don't know anything about USCIS and that could be part of my weariness with them. It just seems like such a massive beaucratic black hole that is accountable to almost nobody. When I see people talk about calling everyday, I just think to myself that it can't be helpful. Then look how far waiting patiently has gotten us.

haha that black hole comment made me chuckle. 

I just feel that the general consensus is that a service request or phone call here or there doesn't hurt and may help. But if you're still anxious about it, give it another 30 days or so :)

I've debated this issue with myself over and over again. We're at NSC which is claiming 5 months (April 29 for us). But I believe this is their goal average. Part of me says too soon could be possibly be detrimental, and another part of me couldn't forgive myself for not doing everything possible to get my wife here as soon as possible. When I see some of these recent approvals that took 10, even 11, months or the sheer number of folks from April and May still waiting for approval.. I nearly get sick to my stomach at the thought. I know that I don't know the entire story behind some of those extended wait times, but I also know that they can't ALL be due to RFE or the like.

Just my opinion, but I don't see how it could hurt your case.

Just turned 20 and been doing this for a year and a half.. not a lot compared to you guys, but definitely very difficult at this age.. and now I'm graduating from college and all I wanna do is finally start a life with my husband, instead I have to sit here with nothing to do except hate USCIS.

Just a little input: I went through the volumes up on USCIS for VSC for different forms. I think they're the more specialized service centre and there are certain forms that only they adjudicate, so I looked at those forms to figure out if they were lazy altogether or just ignoring I-130s. Seems like they're really on top of their game for most applications and often complete around 1-2x the receipts with another significant amount awaiting customer response. It makes me somewhat hopeful that they'll actually pick up their game once the time comes around to take care of I-130s. At least I hope so. Let's see what happens in the next 2 months or so :)

How long have you know each other? Maybe thats why they want more proof,I hope I dont run into this problem, Me and Anya really will on have know each other for a year this Nov, But we are so in love and talk to each other every day of the week,We have cams on out computers and then she gets home from work Im just getting to work.We spend most of our free time chating and seeing each other,We have not stop doing this now for close to a year.If thats not love then I dont know what is.I hope they dont use that stupid 2 year thing because 2 years is crazy.Meny people fall in love in the first few week.

Thanks for sharing your opinion but as an answer of your question,I have to say,I don't really think the RFE is about the time knowing each other like you thought, because we have known each other for 16 years ( I mean since November 1993)and there are photos which were taken in 1993 & 1994,family members' letters about our relation both between 1993-1995 and our coming reunion in 2007 etc...We have really a long story and it was written in details with proofs and sent them.
I think we sent all proofs about our hard relationship & deep love... I don't know what the missing info is..wait and see,I hope the hard copy of RFE'll come a.s.a.p...

I got a letter from NVC dated August 7 saying they have received and approved my petition 129f and they will forward it within a week to the appropriate visa-issuing post where the interview will take place.
I immediately called and they told me it was shipped to the consulate on August 6.
so far so good.
NVC things are really moving fast now.
now i am trying to track the shipment but i have no luck. will try later. maybe DHL hasn't updated their system yet

I do agree with you deeply. When I heard it,I got shocked...!! 5 Months?? We are told that the whole processing time is about 7 months. Especially my fiance asked him if they lost it or not,and he answered no.By following the others processing times and knowing that most approval dates weren't the same as the VSC said.I don't want to believe this silly info..beside these,I don't understand the working system of VSC.. There's nothing to do except waiting.Just want to share what I heard . Shouldn't become low spirited.. Sooner or later,the miracle day will come.. energy.gif

My fiance has phoned the VSC a few minutes ago,and unfortunately the man on the phone said that ''We are keeping your file,there are December 2008 files still here and for an April file approximately it'll take 5 months, but it can be changed'... unsure.gif

I don't want to demoralize,I just want to let you know.

I've been married before, so I sent a notarized copy of my divorce; my fiancee has never been married however, if she was divorced or annulled I would ask her to send me a notarized or certified copy. I hope that helps, good love and luck.
