Is the numbering linear?

According to the guy that posted this method a number like 50001 would be first case received that day and perhaps 51000 would be last.

Here are two from today, but skipped over others with and earlier number.
EAC1001750530 rfe January 26, 2010, EAC1001750533 rfe January 26, 2010. Hope there isnt a theme on the rfe's. One might find it easier to send out an rfe then to actually process the case.

Ok here I am again with another theory. I went back to the USCIS website and started entering in cases for OCT26 again, because that was where I found the most regular amount of processing. I believe OCT26 was the I-129f day for filing. I found that about 1 in 5 visa cases received there that day(not just fiance visas), were I-129f. Many of which have been receiving their approvals, rfe, or denials, in the date range of Dec23-Jan 21. I think the reason things seem to have slowed is because of the sheer number of cases to process before us. So our villain here is our own visa brothers and sisters. LOL.

Here is a small sampling

It's a mystery to most of us here too. Welcome to the frustrated and confused group.

I found this earlier it is USCIS blog. You can read blog and leave comments. Go there and ask why, leave complaint, or call the director a *#$#%#$#. :D

You are missing the point (even tho I agree with what you are saying, and kudos for saying it)

If EVERYONE was getting delayed due to haiti, np, I understand that. But it doesn't explain why non haitian people who applied in december (before the earth quake for what its worth!) are getting processed before those who applied in november.

These are two separate issues, both are annoying.

I hope I'm wrong but from the articles I read the majority of the Haitians are located in Florida, which file at the VSC. Also I'd like to make a guess on some of the recent approvals. One of the last couples I saw who got a fast track approval, also got denied just as quickly. Someone suggested to me that they were passed through because the adjuster knew they would get axed at the interview. Second guess the two approvals I saw from this December were from South America. Maybe they are also being fast tracked or perhaps they are probably going to get axed in the Consular there. I don't know guessing, maybe they are (get ready for crazy) part of a drug cartel and have somebody on the inside of the USCIS. HuH? :P

For those of you who are feeling guilty for what has happened in Haiti, you can text a donation there.

Here’s how it works. To donate $10 to the American Red Cross, text "HAITI" to "90999". You’ll then receive a message asking you to confirm the donation. Text "Yes" and you’re all set.

For me I paid my taxes and my 455.00 dollars in fees and I don't want to wait 5 months for my packet to get buried under a stack of Dec,Jan, Feb, March, April, May filers. I don't think we should not help the poor people out, but can't we do both. Open up a special unit to deal with these people, that focuses only on them. They'll get the attention they need and we wont get lost in the pile.

"It is more blessed to give than to receive."
- Acts 20:35

I wonder if there is a similar proverb in VooDoo.

For those with pending cases.
The following link list the cases that will receive priority above our own. For those of you checking cases on the USCIS. You will probably start to see a flood of the following forms. Form I-539, Form I-765, Form I-512, Form I-130, Form I-131. These forms in addition to the ones included in the TPS packet, will be hastily moved before your own. Unless you are a Haitian or a family member of a Haitian, or an adopting parent of Haitian child.

Link.

For those of us with fiance'/fiancees living in countries with poverty, high rate of crimes against women, threats of typhoons, volcanoes, and earthquakes, terrorism and disease, you may find comfort in the fact, that we and she/he are among the blessed.

I used USCIS's website to create my own list based on the first I-129F received each day from Oct 19-Nov10. I have it in Excel, and is a very small sample. Only 17 cases. I added every 4th one to my USCIS portfolio, so I can log into my account and track when they have been touched. looking just

Ok I've been using your method to create my own timeline too. I think I know why I-129fs have come to almost a stand still. It seems of the 1000 or so cases processed daily (including: receipts, rfe, approvals, denials etc..), that are available by entering in case numbers, 1 in 3 are CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS. While I had to go through hundreds to find only one I-129f. Maybe there is now a push there to process the cri89/I751s.

I went back until I started seeing processing. The latest I find any processing of any regularity is Oct 26. I would go case by case until I would find ten I-129f cases.
Here is sampling of what I found. (note I started around 50400 most before that seem to be cri89)

It's a manual process. :D
Your receipt number is not a random number. Here is how to understand it...
The first 3 letters is the location it was received (EAC is Vermont)
The first 2 numbers is the Fiscal Year the document was received. (Oct 1 2009 was the beginning of 10)
The next 3 numbers is the working day within the FY that the document was received on. (Oct 1, 2009 is 001, Nov 10 is 028, Nov 23 is 036)
The last five numbers is the order that the document was received on that day. (50001 is the first document received)

So...
EAC1000150001 is the first document received at VSC in FY10.
EAC1000250001 is the first document received at VSC on the second working day.
EAC1003650001 is the first document received at VSC on Nov 23, 2009

Then to find the first I-129F of the day, you start at 50001 and work your way up until you find an I-129F. You can save that case and track it. It can be a tedious process. That is why I only looked at the first one received each day. I am tracking the first one received on 10/19, 10/23, 10/29, 11/4, and mine(11/10). Not one of them has been touched since about 4 days after their receipt.

This is really smart thank you. Using your method one could find a case which has already reached its 5 month waiting period and one could contact the VSC and ask why things have slowed down so dramatically.

even if I-765 has to go with pretty sure they will all go to Chicago...

Well that is comforting. I was seeing my case being shelved until 200,000 illegal's cases past before.

So the question still remains. Why the slow down at the VSC?

What do you call 200,000 illegals being deported? A good start.

Receipts: 1,835
Completions: 2,155

My point being - they are clearly working on them just maybe not on VJ cases?? Here's hoping....

Ok it's official Vermont can burn in he__. California is already filing November cases. Meanwhile Vermont has barely begun the October filers.

The time line estimate on the immigration timelines page is for sh__. Vermont has been November 3, October 25, November 15, Now November 12, and as far as what I can see there is only one case with an NOA1 in November approved and that was for Nov3. I don't know who maintains this site, but they need to scrap that, causes its sh__.

Seeing how they aren't filing cases anyway may all the Aholes at Vermont fall down on their pencils today.

I looked up cases on USCIS and looked for the first I-129F received each day at VSC from Oct 19 until Nov 10 (17 work days). From that small sample, only 6% received an NOA2. The other 94% have yet to be touched. I think Oct 15-25 is the average with a few anomalies pushing the date on VJ to Nov 15.

Excuse me, how did you look up cases on USCIS? I'm not familiar with this option. Thankyou.

I've been thinking about this 5 months standard processing time. If over the last 6 months they were processing them in 2 to 3 months, shouldn't the standard change. Going back to a 5 month processing time, when it can be done in 2, is just another case of this current governments way of promoting and encouraging mediocrity.

However; I now believe the reason for the slow down in processing to be either two causes. 1. The USCIS is swamped with adoption cases for Haitian orphans. See this. or 2. The greedy over extended aholes are waiting for the rate increase for visas to be approved. See this.

I wonder how many of us will exceed the 5 month period due to the slow down. I wonder how many will go financially bankrupt due to trying to maintain proof of on an going relationship. I'm feeling very negative and paranoid since the slow down after the Holidays. :(.

If you read the interview with the VSC guy in the main forum he does mention that petitions get approved not strictly in date order so it could be that they just got very, very lucky

I just had an image of new cases coming in to the VSC and instead of moving new ones to the bottom, they just put them on top of the older cases, and work their way down. :bonk:

Is is wrong to wish some horrible bowel syndrome on who ever decided to stop processing cases at the VSC.

i agree. the people of haiti are suffering immensely. we should all be grateful to be alive and in love. we should grateful even to be in the position to file for a visa. jumping through these bureaucratic hoops and waiting an extended period of time is difficult - but it doesn't begin to compare to what has happened to those poor suffering people - the people of haiti (even if they are in the US illegally) deserve our help and refuge.

Sure the US is sending aid and support to Haiti. That's terrific, I'm paying my taxes and supporting them too. But, the illegal who snuck in the country and has been living here as a criminal. I think we should send them back there to help dig out.

Well he did mention knowing some people that work there. He is a great guy always so helpful with his posts and advice. He did say one slightly comforting thing, in regards to the time lines and status on the the uscis website. His wife has been in the states for months now and his status on the uscis website still says initial review. So maybe big maybe there is stuff going on and just no one is seeing the results just yet. I'm thinking they are maybe processing tons of illegal Haitian visas and have no time to do taxpayer's cases.

This has to be our week people! Come on Vermont!

I'm hoping to see some movement in VSC this week. I spoke to an experienced member, who lives in Vermont near the VSC, if the parking lot was empty there. He said things look normal there and that the push to get I-129fs complete is over and they're going back to normal processing. While I accept this answer it is still BullS__t. While I'm happy for the lucky ones who got pushed through in a month to two months, I'd like to know who is deciding who gets to be happy and get on with their lives and who must wait an undetermined amount of torturous time.

Also as a US taxpayer it pisses me off that these government offices close on every freaking little holiday that comes along. Mean while the average tax payer is at work on these days earning money only to give most of it back to the government. Who pay their employees to sit at home scratching their balls and deciding my fate.

On the Immigration Timelines (K1, K3, IR-1, CR-1 Visas, etc...) page, I've watched "Approximate Processing Dates

Weirdness. I know there is a proposed fee rate increase for K-1 visa'. Seems it would be in best interest of immigration to delay all cases until rate increase goes into effect. :( Hope not.

I have couple questions for you.

When creating/editing your timeline, did you use the date you physically received your NOA1 on your timeline or the notice date on the NOA1?

Of the group of November filers, how many have actually had their case touched?

Thank you, and good luck to all.

I remember feeling that way! Look at it this way. This is America, no one in the government really works on weekends....at least the majority that can get away with it don't and USCIS is in that majority. Your petition was received on Friday Nov 6 - most likely in the afternoon. Then Sat & Sun sat untouched in an empty office. They probably opened it on Monday Nov 9. It has been 7 business days since then. If you haven't heard something by this Friday, you should call them just to check on things. Some people never get their NOA-1. It happens. Just be forewarned, it's a long long process and your next step is likely to leave you thinking like this for several months. Whenever you feel this way, take a deep breath and just relax, then call them to calm your fears. But be prepared, by the time they have anything to tell you, your petition will be long gone from their offices. It's annoying...but what can you do? So save the stress, no one needs grey hair early.

Thank you for your comforting words. This really has been stressful. Good news though. I checked my bank account this morning and 455.00 usd were gone. biggrin.gif Now the real waiting begins, but at least I know my packet is not lost.

For any one filing after me, a word of advice, get the signature return receipt.

Signature return receipt delays the process as they have to send someone to pick up the mail and sign for it. Return signature receipt serves absolutely NO value whatsoever (not even imaginary) in this case. Delivery confirmation is all you need, all you ever needed. Your stress was entirely imaginary and based on unrealistic expectations based on an ignorance of how people fill in their timelines (it is always in arrears, it has to be, which means it was several days or weeks AFTER the date listed that people actually knew what date to enter in their timeline)

You are a young man, obviously. You are used to tracking numbers, text mesages, emails...even phone calls are too slow for you. Get over it. This is USCIS. They do not communicate. They don't want to. They don't have to. You have no option. Now, you will sit quietly with no word for months probably. No one you call will give you petinent information. The online update system is not accurate. When your petition approval arrives in your mailbox, you will know you reached the next step.

Relax

Thanks to all for the sobering comments. I really appreciate those of you who took the time to comment. I some how thought that the return receipt would give some comfort that the package had indeed been received. I certainly have some lessons to learn in patience. Thanks again.

Hi. I sent my I-129f packet in to the VSC on Nov3. I sent it certified mail, but with out return receipt. I sent it usps and according to there tracking, it was delivered on Nov6. It is now Nov14 and I haven't received any confirmation from VSC, or have had my check cashed. I know that the VSC was down for holiday on the 11th, but I've been watching others who have similar time lines to me and some have already received NOA-1.

I know I am probably just being inpatient/paranoid, but has anyone ever had their packet lost by the VSC?

Ok so it's 14 days since I sent in my packet. Can someone who didn't receive their noa-1 in less then a week comment on why this might be taking so long?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresduplicate of I-129f package
Thank to all for replying. I'm going to send the package and the duplicates of the duplicates. lol. I'm going to send my Original birth Certificate and divorce decree. I really hate to lose those if they get lost during the process. I suppose they are replaceable here if they do get lost.

It still bothers me to have to send. If the USCIS doesn't require to see originals, and they took months to do background checks, and come to an approval, then why should the USEM, need to see originals. Oh well..

Also, the Original Birth Certificates are requrested to be provided at the interview and things like original certified copies of divorce decrees if you have any.

Thank you. This is another thing I'm confused about. Original Birth Certificates are requrested to be provided at the interview and things like original certified copies of divorce decrees. I the USC need to send originals of these, copies not allowed? Certified?

Also while I'm thinking about it, do I need to send copy of my Passport?

Thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresduplicate of I-129f package

I haven't read of anyone being asked for it during interview. But I suppose it might be nice to have, maybe overkill since they are supposed to already have it their hands when they interview you. More important to have all originals of copies supplied for 129F (receipts, birth certificate, boarding passes and such).

How long ahead did you have to get your interview date? Or did you get you interview date set yet? I have read that USEM Manila is scheduling them 40+ days ahead.

No interview yet, I called a moment ago and USEM received electronic confirmation, but not documents yet.

Of course, nobody has ever been asked to present to the Consulate the I-129F copy (at least I haven't read or heard anything like that). The duplicate is for your fiancee to study. It's more or less that way. Each answer coming from the applicant will be validated by the CO from your files. He/she will check whether your fiancee's answers correspond to the documents and forms.

I see, that makes sense. I have been previously married and divorced. I didnt want to print out and send her two copies of my divorce decree. Thank you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresduplicate of I-129f package
I have a question for recent interviewees. I have a nearly an exact copy of the I-129f packet I sent to the USCIS ready to send to my Fiancee. In addition to that, I'm trying to send her proof of meeting, proof of on going relationship. I have found I'm am sending alot of the same stuff, that is in the packet.

What does the fiancee do with the duplicate packet? The embassy is supposed to have the original?

Is the fiancee supposed to take the duplicate packet with him/her to the interview?

I've heard that there is a small window to place your information through. My packet is very thick. Anyone know if that is true?

Has anyone been asked to provide the information from the duplicate packet?

Thank you

USCIS Service CentersHoliday closing vsc

Officially they are closed only Christmas day and New Years day. I live within sight of the place, you want me to check for cars in the parking lot?

The processing seems to have stopped at VSC. Could you look and see if there are cars in the parking lot? Thanks. :P
