Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionDivorce :(

I don't know what you guys are up against and what you're going through. However, if you just got approved and you just got married, I think you might want to reconsider jumping on the divorce train just yet. Maybe a cool off time and reflection is needed. To simply proceed with terminating a marriage that just happened within 7 days seems drastic. Working through some of these difficulties might strengthen your marriage.

Good luck to you.

Another point: how could you have gotten married last week but approved for your conditional green card months ago. Huh?

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionnew here but needs help
Ugh. I would get out of all that, but definitely wait for the 10 yr GC for simplicity sake if it isn't that far off. Rarely do alcoholics turn themselves around and you don't want to give him too many chances if he does as they will keep telling you "ok, I promise THIS time" and it is a never ending merry-go-round of ups and downs and stress.

Sounds like the marriage started out on a bad foot and how can he not have sex with his new wife? What a weirdo. I don't understand why he would go through all that just to "throw" the marriage away. I can also tell you from experience the older the child is, the degree in difficulty for the child to adjust to divorce. The friendfinder subscription is worrying also (save the proof).

I would sit down with him and talk this through and let him know if this doesn't change, you will leave him. See what he does. Be firm. I am so sorry I don't even have the better advice despite the fact that I dealt with this myself for 10 years and within my family.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion regarding biometrics for Removing Conditions
QUOTE (frenchie @ Jul 14 2009, 08:52 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I think the "NOTE: Conditional resident applicants... WILL NOT RECEIVE an ASC appointment notice. To complete biometric processing, these applicants must submit the required items on the I-751 form instructions." means that you need to submit your I-751 petition in order to receive the appointment. If you did not, you will not receive any appointment notice.

I read that some people did walk-in for the biometrics and had any problem. If you live near the place, go ahead and try. It never hurts to try! But if it is a long commute, I would just wait for the appointment letter.

I just did a walk-in this morning. Showed up at 8am at opening and was done in 25 minutes. My original date was scheduled for 07/24/09. Only they lady who actually did the biometrics made comment for me being early and then went ahead and did the screening. No problems at all.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionService request opened today for my Biometric delay
QUOTE (csoul @ Jul 7 2009, 12:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey guys,

Just to let you know that today I called USCIS 800 number.

I am very happy with the operator that took my call, she was very friendly and open to help in any way. I explained that I have more than a 30 days (since the day of the receipt) waiting for my Biometric appointment so I asked for a service request to see what happened with my appointment.

She put me on hold for a couple of minutes and then she returned saying that I was right and that she will open a service request with CSC to see what is wrong then she gave me a confirmation number for future reference.

I am happy because normally I read in other posts that most USCIS operators ask you to wait 45 days (since the day of the receipt) to call for a service request but this one didn't ask to wait for that and she start the service request immediately. I had at the moment of this call about 37 days waiting.

She confirmed my address and all my information in the system just to be sure that everything is OK.

By far the experience today was very good, no waiting time (after my selection of the options she answered almost immediately), fast and friendly service.

I just hope that this help in any way to get my Biometrics because most of the May and even June people already received their Biometrics appointment.

Good luck to those waiting like me.

It seems there has been a delay for many applicants who filed, may and June. Mine took 6 weeks before I received one, Then it got cancelled, received a new one, will be on vacation then. Did a walk in this morning. Walked in when they opened and was out in 25 minutes. Awesome.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWalk In Biometrics
QUOTE (happywifeymom @ Jul 25 2009, 11:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello Fellow members,

Just wanna ask those who know or had experience on this issue? We have our biometrics appointment for August 12 for me removal of condition and was wondering if we can do the walk in before that date?

We will have the bio in Atlanta office.. Can't find their phone #...do we have to just go their and do the walk in bio? or we need to call them first?

We have another appointment with the DFA consulate on that same date so we are thinking of doing the bio at the same day to make just one trip.

WOuld they allow us to do the biometrics ahead of the appointment date? Thanks in advance for those who will share their answers.

I did it 2 weeks ago and as long as you show the appointment letter they will let you do it. It went fast too, didn't say anything.
Showed up right when they opened and only the lady who actually did the biotrics said: So, you are early......and then moved on.
I was in the Phoenix,AZ office, but I was in and out in 25 minutes. In my case in seemed that the let the ones that already had a green card go first. There were quite a few people waiting. For AOS I waited almost 3 hrs.
Don't call them, just go. I read one comment on this forum that when the girl mentioned it somewhere they had her wait 4 hrs. I had no problems at all and many others on here neither.

Good luck.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionJune 2009 I-751 filers
Sorry a friend has been in the hospital this week so I've been spending a lot of time there - no time to check the computer!

foxtobee, we go by the NOA1 date so you are actually a May filer. What was your original submission date?

Congrats for the approvals foxtobee, Baileyj96, Erica, ms514, maggieNomar, and Carlawarla!!!
kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I guess I had the original submission date right. 05/04/2009, but they did sent the whole packet back to us for missing the I-751 application form. They sent it back bound already, so we sent it back a few day later. I guess, due to that I messed it up and USCIS accepted the first submission date.

Oh, well, I am now approved. kicking.gif Thanks for bearing with my mis-information

I just have one question, on my NOA1 noticed the reciept date was 6/22. On the case status online CRI89 says that one 6/24 we recieved your application....blah blah blah. Have any one got such discrepancy?
Taho

Yes, that is what I was thinking. I had my time-line messed ip. I am at work. Will be home in a couple hours and will double check. wacko.gif

Okay, so my time-line is messed up.

My NOA-1 has the date : 05/21/2009

and my online status says:

On June 3, 2009, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case.

So now I am lost...where do I belong.....May or June filers. unsure.gif
