Middle East and North AfricaUpdate....
Yasi... What ME cook??The one person that tries to boil tea and catches the bag on fire?? Nope, haven't learned a thing. Not to mention that he LOVES Mc Donalds and KFC, he would rather eat American food. So, i got lucky there!!

I am staying at my dad's house until he gets here then we are going to go get a place :) So no house to get ready either. He "forbade" me to go shopping for anything, because he wants to do it when he gets here. (Oh dear, he can outshop me!!)

I think I am going to have too much time on my hands :( for these 3 weeks to pass!

Hmmm... I wonder what he looks like after a year!??! What fun!!

Middle East and North Africa221g
Hi sam11! Yep, just means that they are having their security checks completed. You can see by my timeline that it didn't take too long to be completed. They usually have it in 4-6 weeks. Just keep calling the DOS and they can tell you what the status is. I called everyday until they said he was cleared, then the next updated list on their website showed his case number. He went back last week and was issued the visa in 2 days. Don't worry, just normal processing for Iranians. :yes:

Middle East and North Africa221g
Ok, I posted it in the CR1 forum, but I think we have more experience coming from the ME. When you have your interview and you are handed an OF-194 it is checked "other" and says to come back when security clearances are complete. Do they normally have you sign the DS230 and Swear you in? This just seems odd to me, that if the checks aren't done, then you come back and finish the paperwork.

Im offended by lima beans also.

You show up on my plane loking a little strange...I ant flying.

I guess then that would be your choice right? You can just hop right off and go find another. :lol: Worse case, TAKE A BUS!

Who is to say, that you don't have a mullet and buck teeth, i would find that strange. You know, it would just pop into my head that you are a rapist and run around murdering people, uh huh.

That is exactly what you are saying by if someone looks a little "strange", that they match the idiotic preconceived notions that you have of people from the middle east.

"I SEE STUPID PEOPLE"

Middle East and North AfricaConsular Denials

:crying: :crying: :crying: OK IM OFFICIALLY FREAKING OUT! :crying: :crying: :crying:

I read this in the article:

On the petitioner’s side, here is a brief and, by no means, complete list of reasons I have seen used to justify the return of family-based IV petitions and K petitions to DHS.

1. A very brief courtship followed by a plunge into matrimony;

2. A marriage ceremony arranged only a short time after petitioner arrives in the beneficiary’s country and they meet for the first time;

3. No common language;

4. Petitioner resides with family members of the beneficiary in the US;

5. Petitioner is employed by or has a business relationship with a relative of beneficiary;

6. Petitioner submits phone records that show he uses a residential phone number that is listed in the name of another person.

7. US divorce followed very quickly by an engagement to foreign beneficiary is often a red flag for consular officers.
8. There is little or no documentary evidence of the relationship prior to the actual engagement.

9. Long gaps of time between the petitioner & beneficiary being together in person.

10. Failure to disclose previous marriages;

11. Failure to disclose previous petitions filed on behalf of other beneficiaries.

Well to be exact, I got engaed exactly 4 months after my divorce was FINAL. I met him right after I left my ex, and NO I did not leave my ex for him.

I only went to Jordan once, and that's the only time I can go. In my case, I can't travel alone. My family would have to come becuase of our traditions.

They keep mentioning ties in the US to the benifiary. Well I don't live with them, and I don't work for them, and I'm certainly not using their phone. BUT...in my letter of intent to marry him and his letter of intent to marry me. We stated that we were friends at first and we began to trust each other more when we found out there was a comman marriage in our family. At the time we met, we found out that my cousin was engaged to his cousin. The way we met was a total fluke! Are they gonna hold this against me???? :help:

This important part is you did disclosed this at the time of application. So when your application is approved and fianlly sent to the consulate for interview you should be completely protected against any revocation due to this information. Try to Relax. It's the truth of your relationship...you can't describe it any other way.
As for me, I have a red flag I wasn't even aware of. I left a 6 year marriage before I met Farid. Was filing for the divorce before we met. But the divorce didn't finalize till Novemeber and October was when I first went to Morocco to meet my love in person. I went back again in January to marrry. So our courtship to marriage is very short as well. 2 RED Flags!! LOL But really it's in God's hands.

My fiance called TNT yesterday and they seemed to have all the info on him, fully name, case # and receipt #. They tell him that he will receive a delivery on Saturday. Since we are really trying NOT to get our hopes up, he called again today, they said the same with his info and told him to call Sunday. SO........................just keeping our fingers crossed. At least it's a weekend so if he does not receive it, I have 2 full days to cry my eyes out.

Farid and I hope the best for you two!

Hello, welcome to VJ and congratulations on your marriage. I've found it's important for Farid and I to spend as much time online with eachother as possible. That helps me tremdously. And keep yourself super busy. I've started "spring" cleaning my home. Really gutting everything and organizing and it keeps my mind off the waitng. Also for me it helps to think...today is the last March 29th. I'll ever have to live without my love. Because once this process is completed and we're together we'll never ever have to be apart again. I hope that helps a bit. I feel your pain!

Middle East and North AfricaWhen Interviewing at Casablanca
Wow!!! Thanks to all for the excellent advice and insight. And thank you for adding us to the cheerleading thread I feel so warm and welcomed!

Last night I stayed up till 1:30am reading the entire 19 page thread to the 221g cases being sent back to the states and this morning while driving to work, I got the idea to also include as part of our "evidence of relationship", refrence letters from my friends and family each stating thier relationship to me..how long they've known me and a few supporting facts as to why they know and feel our relationship is valid and true. Almost all of my friends and family memebers have actually spoken with Farid by web cam or on the telephone when he calls at work. I remember reading someone (sorry I haven't remembered the member's name) stating that they did this after thier application was sent back to the states. So I'm thinking that by adding this it can be yet another proof of the relationship. Along with the photos, the phone bills, the video, the emails, the messenger logs, the love letters by snail mail, ect.

Has anyone tried this before? Do you think it is a good idea for him to get reference letters as well from his friends and family and of coarse have them translated? Is it worth the effort on both parts?

Just to clarify I do understand that the 221g is issued on every case.
I thank all of you for taking the time to give such helpful advice.
Really, having this support group is such a blessing.
Farid and I will do our best to continue gathering as much information as possible to prepare ourselves for the interview. Does anyone here know of a thread that speaks specifically of the interview in morocco? Like what kind of questions to be prepared for? Really your post ella74ny is so very helpful.

Middle East and North AfricaWhen Interviewing at Casablanca

I would love to have my fiance go in there with a tape recorder but i think that would just piss them off and diffently slap him with a 221(g) sent back to the us. It seems like your dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. He not going through morocco but i heard they are getting more strict at the embassy in goergia.

LOL :lol: tape recorder! I wish!

Middle East and North AfricaWhen Interviewing at Casablanca
First I'd like to say thank you to everyone who posts here at VJ. This community has provided such valuable information and insights into this visa filing process.

In my research I've come across many who have had interview in Casablanca where the infamous "woman" gives a 221g without a reason. Then proceeds to send the file back to the states without the required 2nd. interview. My heart goes out to each and every one of you.

My question is this:

What can a spouse or fiance' do at the time of interview to jolt a sense of "legal" ramification into this woman.? How can I prepare my husband for this interview? Is it possible for him to show her the law as it is written to remind her of his rights and the legal procedure? In some cases the "evidence" hasn't even been looked at. Is it possible to INSIST she look at it?

I'm just completely frustrated at what has happened to so many for no reason.
Is there anything that can be done to avoid or deterr this action at the time of interview?

Middle East and North AfricaWhy I love my husband
Loving Farid is as natural to me as breathing. It's not possible for me to have met him, my perfect man, the only love of my life, and not know him. He's my twinsoul, my destiny. Our meeting is supernatural. He is the man God made for me. Praise God for his loving grace. If the question is "why i love my husband?" the only answer can be..because that's what God wants. He's my precious gift.

Middle East and North AfricaThat First Meeting...
Jean,
Truely your "20 seconds" story has given me goosebumps! What a romantic moment for you two to treasure for the rest of your lives.
Wow! Our first meeting for Farid and I brings such a smile to my face. I had never been out of the country before. I was entertained on the flight in by another Moroccan man that has lived in the US for about 12 years. He shared his love story with me about him and his wife. He was very plesant. The guy to my right was nicely letting me know the most inappropriate things about his ####### and how long it's been since he's had sex with his wife..five years if I can remember correctly.LOL seriously I was ever so grateful to get off that plane. The nervousness sat in just before I saw him. I thought what if I don't recognize him in person, Or vice versa and we miss eachother LOL. All these thoughts were racing through my mind as I waited to collect my luggage. Finally after a long wait for my bags, I stepped out ...and there he was! jumping up and down and breaking through the barrier that security had created. We stood in front of the crowd and he was hugging me so tightly. I remember the smile on his face was so bright and we clung to eachother as we walked. We got to the elevator and he let me go for a moment to step away to push the button and that was the moment I knew this was my husband for all my life. This was my man! My Destiny! My Love.. I couldn't take my eyes off his face for the next 30 minutes. Just couldn't believe I was with him in person. Finally! LOL We had a wonderful first day, spent it getting to know him more and the family. I loved and still do love to watch him interact with people. He's wonderful in every way and I absolutely adore him.

Middle East and North AfricaCasablanca Embassy Morocco
Hello ,
My Love and I have just recieved our Packet 3 to interview for the K3 visa on September 22nd. It's our hoping that we can have a "complete" on the CR1 visa application very soon (it's been 5 weeks waiting so far ) and use this September 22nd interview date for our CR1 interview. In our research we've not been able to find a checklist needed for the CR1 interview as mostly everyone going through Casa Embassy is on K1 or K3. Can anyone help us find the information / checklist needed when going to an interview for a CR1 visa through the Casablanca Embassy? Thanks so much for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Dannelle and Farid

Middle East and North AfricaSaturday is finally here --- Casablanca, Morocco

good luck girl...I've got ya on my prayer list :)
Another saturday....ya know...noura, you have made me think about joining a dance class with my husband...it just may be fun to learn something together...I'll have to check in to it and see what the cost is...maybe we could learn to TANGOOOOO (they say it takes 2) :lol: I'm also thinking of putting my son in karate or something similar...he really likes that stuff....outside of that...today is going by sooooooooooo SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

:lol: O snaaaaps the tango... My SO and I were just talking about that last night :dance:

OOO the tango sounds fun! Farid and I have already decided on Salsa lessons. One thing on my long list of "things I want to do in this life" list. I live in a small town just 5 miles from the Mexican boarder so the Mexican culture is heavily mixed in. Good/Great food, music, and people. If it were available I'd love to learn the art of belly dancing but unfortuately the selection is limited in small towns...hey Noura do you tour???LOL

Middle East and North AfricaInterview Date Set for September 22nd.

:dance: Congratulations that is great news I have been watching your progress. :dance:

Can I ask what you will do if your case is not complete by the time you have your K-3 interview? Will you husband return to Casa for the CR-1 interview or will you do AOS here? I am asking because I think that we will run in to a similar situation, we just got our K-3 approved, and our I-130 is almost half way done. I am just curious to get someone else thoughts who is in the exact same situation. Thanks.

Zena

Thanks so much everyone for your support and your encouragement! MENA is such a valuable support group and really having you ladies, and some gentlemen, LOL to share experiences with has made the impossible waiting , possible.

From what the NVC operator told me, if he arrives here on a K3 the fees paid for the CR1 will be lost and she stated we need to do the AOS here in the States. If we have the option to fly back to Morocco to do the CR1 interview I think we probebly would take that option. Any oportunity to see my new family is warmly welcomed. LOL

I don't know how to show 2 posts on the same reply but I wanted to give the checklist for interview to Najia. It's posted under Embassy Info (up at the top of the site) go to "M" for Morocco ...but here's the link and it's accurate.

Good luck on your continued journey and please let us know if there is anything we can help with.

Middle East and North AfricaInterview Date Set for September 22nd.
Hello friends,
Farid and I have wonderful news. :dance: :dance: :dance: Our Packet 3 arrived today for the K3 visa and they set our interview date for September 22nd. We're so excited and relieved to finally have a date for our interview. Really this step is such a well needed "breath of fresh air" for our visa process. There is a light at the end of the tunnel ...God willing only 6 more weeks until we're together. We're praying our CR1 file is "complete" soon and sent to the consulate before the 22nd so we can get the preferred immigrant visa. For now my honey is starting to prepare the items on the checklist. Early next week I will be sending him the rest of our "continued" proof for the last month since I've seen him. And we're going to freshen up on what to expect at the interview. Any suggestion are soooo greatly appreciated. Thanks so much !!!!
I wish i could do one of those tickertag thingys only 20 more days till interview!!! LOL :lol:
