IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	After I-130 gets approved what is next	I UNDERSTAND THAT it is possible that your I-130 can be approved by USCIS. But, don't bet on it. An I-130 can be approved in about 2-6 months fromt the time of filing. After the approval, USCIS forwards the approved case to NVC. NVC does not approve anything, they just collect and process the further paperwork and send the case to the Embassy/Consulate, once the case is complete at NVC. We have patched everything up (I pray after many telphone calls) and she wants to return to me. I filed th I-130 in August. I will say that you will most likely be looked at more carefully and I would have every bit of evidence that you have a "real" mariage/family. You should keep all receipts (of money transfers), any records of health insurance or other policies where your wife was added. If you can I would open a joint bank account. You get the idea..... I will be cutting it close on the 2 year mark. If I generate the coversheet (james shortcuts) with a IR1 code rather than a CR1 code will I create a problem? I am hoping that if my wife gets here before the 2 year mark (a month early)she still gets the 10 year green card. thoughts? That is not my question? My question is if I place IR1 on the documents rather than CR1 will I cause any unnecessary delays. The problem is that my wife is pregnant and I will bring her here the moment that the documents are finished. We were married June 5, 2005. I might just miss the 2 year mark. My documents should be sent to the embassy soon as I am sending in the DS-230 tomorrow. Any thoughts how I can speed up things? Will there be problems with the vaccines? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	DS-230 Part II support documents in Ukraine	You must turn in the DS-230 at NVC Part 1 is sighned and Part II is included but not signed. You only sign this at the interview. When you turn in this DS-230 (at NVC) you only include a copy of the passport picture with Name, and details along with the barcode sheet. (That is it!) At the interview you will need the Police Report and Original Birth Certificate (Packet 3 is a checklist which will tell you what is needed) You must inform you have this checklist completed before the interview is scheduled. Hmm....I wonder if this means that all the requirements will be the same then for all interviews at all embassies and if all of us will now have to send in the same stuff you have to send in? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	New NVC rules Ukraine	I am told that now I need to sent the ORIGINAL birth certificate, Marriage certificate, Police report and divorce decree translated. Copies are not good enough. It must be certified and stamped by the issuer. I guess I must now wait another couple weeks. This sucks since I have already made plans to travel. What really sucks is that I will not get the mail from my wife for at least 10-12 days and then I must send it to NVC and they must "get it" so another month is hopfull thinking. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	DS 230 and police reports	i just called NVC and they told me that the supporting documents for the DS230 now have to be sent to NVC and not taken to the interview in bogota. when did this change? did i miss something? i thought the only thing that had to be sent with the DS230 was a copy of my wifes passport. also, now that i have to ask my wife to get a police report, i asked NVC if she needed one from each city she has lived in, which would be barranquilla and bogota, but the NVC rep told me that she only needed multiple police reports if she has lived in more than one country. if this is so, do the police in colombia give one report that covers the entire country or does she have to goto bogota to get one from there? i'm a liitle confused after thinking i was on top of everything. please clearify, any help is appreciated gracias JK Yes, I just found out as well for Ukraine. I've been trying to refresh myself as to the CR-1 process. I've been really into the details of the K-3 so if anyone has any advice please offer it up! I'm really not too sure what to do at this point if anything. Seems according to the timelines that the NOA2 approval and then the NVC actually sending our case to the consulate is a long wait. 4 to 8 months according to the timelines. Is that correct? Hi all fellow VJer's, I just recieved my IV bill today in the mail and while reading the intructions I came across this: "When we recieve your Immigrant Visa fees, we will send you the Immigrant Visa application (form DS-230 Part 1) along with further instructions. Return ONLY the original application that we send to you. Do not use downloaded computer forms." Now of coarse this comes as a surprise to me. My husband has already completed the "downloaded" form and is preparing to send it to me via FED EX this week. Is this a new procedure? Do I really have to wait for the form to come from NVC and then mail it to Morocco and then wait while my Love mails it back to me and then back to NVC??? Please Help! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	I-864 Package Questions	Hello my fellow VJrs, I recieved my I-864 package and am ready to mail it off tomorrow. I have a few details I'm nervous about and I really need your input. Here's what I'll be mailing please help me double check that it's all there. 1. Barcode Sheet 2. Proof of Citizenship ready in the form of all pages of my passport copied. 3. I have signed the Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data 4. This is where it gets questionable..... The I-864 application they sent me had the Poverty Guidelines, Instructions for the I-864, Checklist for the I-864, and then the application for the I-864 stapled together. This application is the OLD version. I simply took out the application and instructions and put in the newer version and stapled everything back together. Do you think that is okay? Another question : does the Poverty Guidlines, and instructions have to be stapled to the I-864 application at all? I was under the impression we just staple the pages of the application together. 5. Copies of 1040 and W2 for 2005 6. I chose to send an employment letter and copies of my last 6 months pay stubs. Here's another question: Since this is an "option" does one really have to send in 6 months or can I send 3 months instead? That's alot of copies as I get a check every week! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Documents for DS-230 apart from that?	Does anyone know what you send back with the DS-230 apart from that and any addendum? I read recently on here that you also send a photocopy of the data page of your passport. And in the Choice of Agent package it refers to the DS-230 'and other documents'. I am seeing my husband on Saturday (we are meeting in Bermuda for a week's holiday) so it would be great to know if there's extra stuff because I can take it to him. We are expecting the DS-230 any day and it would save me having to Fedex and lose a few days. Our K3 was forwarded to London 3rd October and we want the green card to catch up because that's the one we want (like everyone does!) Thanks for your help! B) DS-230 Application Part I signed/dated: PartII Left unsigned Birth Certificate Police Check Photocopy of Data Page Of Passport Original Marriage Certificate Original Divorce Documents (If he's ever been divorced before) The Police Check and the Birth Certificate each have some details, as to what makes them acceptable. I believe he has to provide a police check for every place he's lived for over 6 months, since the age of 16. The Birth Certificate has to have the parents names on it, or something to that fact. There are some acceptable alternatives should a birth certificate not be available. I'm not exactly sure by memory what they are but it's clearly detailed in the instructions of the DS-230.
