You know that I joke but that I do feel for you going through this #######. I think the only advantage right now is the ability to at least resend documents really quickly in the event of them being misplaced or something. I don't know what's going there. I thought they were misplacing my documnents but they weren't. The emails were throwing me. You got some sort of check list though and those are usually the RFEs as I understand them.

I hope they straighten this out for you asap.

I guess Chicago's moving ahead of the Canucks gives you acid reflux huh?

By what they have RFE'd you for, they received your documents email, BUT have not approved you for EP - which is why they are asking for a certified copy. I was told this might happen to me if I emailed my documents before getting the official approval. So, looks like your EP is not yet approved. Sorry. Posted Image

No I saw Jewell's posting which showed the 'thank you for your interest in processing via ep etc' and that the emails were updated etc. That is the confirmaiton of EP. They're good to go...but the other emails are a bit odd...looks like an RFE checklist but may not be.

Things are really out of sync at NVC!

I received 7 emails from them and they are all conflicting.

Talking to the operator and supervisors...2 of them they all have different stories.:angry::angry::angry::angry:

So stayed tuned for updates on this: all of you are in EP at NVC. Or who are thinking of it.

Also of note.... Anyone who gets a long form Birth Certificate from B.C. they don't think its real! They have issued a new long form birth Certificate that is small and it looks like our "funny" money.

i am confused about this email process. if you choose to opt in then you need to electronically send all your documents in including tax returns for the last three years? also i thought i read the petitioner has to send in his marriage certificates for all his marriages? is this correct? why would that be? she needs to ahve original birth certificate that is stamped also?she needs to take oriinals of everything to interview also? i can't give my original birth certificate to her.

As far as I know , Brazil is not eligible for electronic processing - that means that all the documents can be scanned in pdf documents and processed that way. But you can give NVC your email address and they will send you notification electronically which makes it faster than you waiting via postal services. But when you reply ie send in your packages, you have to send them via postal or courier etc. Electronic processing means the entire packages ie DS3032, I 864 and supporting documents, and DS230 and supporting documents are processed all via email. Check the countries, I know it's Canada and China but the 3rd country escapes me as I type this.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHELP electronic processing confusion
I got clarity on my confusion after receiving a variety of emails and I was starting to pull out my hair.

Here is what I learned.

1) Because we were advised on VJ to send the DS3032 with the OPTIN, I was confused by them taking so long confirming me then asking for the Ds3032 when I sent it. In fact I ended up sending the OPTIN and DS3032 several times. But I didn't NEED to - in fact the email is standard, it's not necessarily an autoresponse but if you are in EP, you will receive this whether you sent this in or not

2) Same holds true for I864 and DS230 - each time, I got an email requesting those documents and so I resent them but was getting ticked that something was going wrong blah blah. NOTHING was going wrong..

The issue is the advise all of us got on VJ verses the emails from NVC - in other words, those before us gave helpful advice and said sent in the DS3032 WITH the OPTIN and don't wait for NVC, plus send in the I 864 immediately after paying the AOS bill and the same for sending the DS230 after paying the IV bill. So, we did just that but then got these confusing emails that makes us think there was a problem. Nope. Those emails come to you regardless because we are into electronic processing. The normal route is to optin in to EP then wait for the email from NVC then send the DS3032 - we didnt' so we end up getting the where's your DS3032 email from NVC. Same for all the others.

So the long and short is either resend everything or disregard those emails because NVC does have the electronic submissions, those emails are standard in case you haven't submitted; so for those of us that do it early before the NVC emails, don't worry because NVC has them.

What would actuallly go a long way is for NVC to send emails confirming the documents we send in - that way we could sit back and think ok all is well in the valley.

You can always call NVC and speak with an operator to get clarity on this, plus to ensure all the documents have been received. Again the emails sent from NVC cause the most confusion but once you get it, you get it.

They could improve the system/process but I'll tell ya, I got through NVC in 24 days because of EP despite my rantings and despite my concern that I was having to resend everything, thinking there was a problem when, in fact, none existed. :bonk:

Good luck

Situation: I have filed the I-130 with USCIS and received my NOA1. I then filed form I-129F for a K-3 visa. I have not heard anything back from USCIS. Its been about 30 days now. I have been reading the forums and realized that my best route to take would be CR1 visa. Thank you all for this advice!!!

Question: Was I suppose to inform USCIS that instead of going the K-3 visa route I am now interested in applying for the CR1 visa? Or do I wait to get the approval for either the I-130 or the I-129F and inform NVC?

I appreciate any input on this topic as I am a newbie to this.

USCIS approves petitions... Department of State issues visas...

When the petition(s) is/are approved, then the case files move to the Department of State at which time you choose your visa path.

Department of State being the NVC?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresRecent I-130 approvals
It might be nearly impossible to determine if filing a I-129F slows the I-130 approval down since the Service Centers seem to work at their own pace and don't necessarily work on the files in the order they receive them. Not to mention, some petitions just take longer to approve than others. I would suggest doing a query on the K-3 VJ time lines and perhaps compare it to the spreadsheet (see link to my blog in my sig) I have been keeping which tracks the I-130s for CR-1/IR-1 filers.

And the VJ guides clearly state to include 2 original G-325(a) per person on the application.

My advice is to stop asking this question and start gathering the forms and other documentation you may have omitted and prepare for an RFE.

If everyone who sent in an application posted here, the statistics would be more meaningful. So you can only draw so many conclusions from the data we have and have them be at all accurate.

Agreed. Although I obviously cannot track every single application filed at the Service Centers and the data is obviously not 100% accurate, it can be reasonably assumed to be representative. Regardless, I still maintain my position that the SCs seems to be working and approving applications at about the same speed. VSC is certainly approving applications; please refer to these 5 recent VSC approvals:

sunshine18

niceman (although he lists his SC as Texas, he resides in Atlanta which would make his SC actually Vermont)

GiGi27

sajo

Germanchick2502

(I would of actually linked their time lines; however, the VJ website is having issues and hanging at the moment, so you will have to look them up yourselves after the webmaster does his/her thing to fix the site.)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIS VSC working ...?????
One side note: I couldn't find statistical information on USCIS by Service Center, but here on VJ time line searches, I found that in the last 365 days, CSC has 489 I-130 applications recorded and VSC had 185. Thats a huge difference and probably can account why the VSC filers think that VSC is moving slower. In that same period queried, the average time wait for a NOA2 from CSC was 150 days and VSC was 130 days. I still maintain my position that the 2 service centers are processing applications at about the same speed.
DeliciaFemaleChile2008-03-18 21:00:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIS VSC working ...?????
I don't think the processing dates as posted on the USCIS are accurate. For example, CSC states they are processing through July 2007 for the I-130. We are seeing more Sept and Oct petition approvals and July seems all but done. I do think VSC has a smaller staff and they do process fewer applications, but according to the I-130s I am tracking, VSC does not appear to be slower than CSC. You can check my tracking for yourself here.
DeliciaFemaleChile2008-03-18 20:10:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIS VSC working ...?????
More realistically, CSC processes a significant number more petitions that VSC does. You will see that reflected in the number of VSC approvals, in that there just isn't as many to get approved hence the appearance they are going slower. Overall, VSC appears to be keeping pace with CSC and I dare you to show me otherwise.

That is a link for the Vancouver Consulate. I think he was assigned to Montreal. As far as I can find, you cannot change Consulates and are assigned to the one closest to you except in the case of IR1/CR1 interviews, which Vancouver does not do at all.

Yes, you can reschedule it; however, you get bumped to the back of the line. The wait time at Montreal is 4-6 months so you better be sure that is what you want to do. You can find specific information regarding the Montreal Consulate in the Canada region forum.

I believe all that you have to do is email the Consulate and request a reschedule, and I am sure someone in the Canada forum has that email addy handy.

That is the problem with the VJ graphs. It uses people's time lines for its calculations. It does include DCF filings in there as well. Almost certainly, I have seem people enter their time lines completely wrong (they enter the date filed, their NOA-1, and NOA-2 for an I-130 all with the same dates) and all that bad info helps populate the VJ data and its graphs.

Why don't you call the office that issued your reciept (NOA-1). There is a 800 number on the form. I don't know what SRC stands for.
