Thanks, yeah I did some reading on the difference. Makes sense now lol.

I actually don't need anything from their father. He has had nothing to do with them in their lifetime which is why I have custody with no visitation.

I went to get copies of my custody orders and she asked if I needed them certified. I paid her to get it certified but then started wondering if notarized is the same. I have a notary who will do it for free. Is it the same thing? Do I even have to have custody orders certified or notarized?

He is going to need a passport as far as I know.

According to the embassy instructions:

Children may be included in the parent's passport, but if over the age of 16, the must have their photograph attached to the passport

Rick

Hmmmm very interesting. I was under the impression anyone getting a visa needed one, including children.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Evidence

4. Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present.

We sent none of this. We have it, but were going to send it later when it is asked for. I did notice it is listed in the guide though and that does cause confusion.

International Marriage Broker Information Requirements
This section provides that a U.S. citizen filing a petition for a K visa for a fiancée from another country must provide information on criminal convictions for specified crimes. These include a list of violent crimes, including assault and battery as well as crimes relating to substance or alcohol abuse. The Department of Homeland Security will provide this criminal history information, along with results of their search for any criminal convictions to the foreign national beneficiary. The Department of State is prohibited from approving a fiancée visa if the petitioner has petitioned for more than 2 K visas in the past, or less than 2 years have passed since the petitioner filed for a K visa and that visa was approved. DHS can waive this bar, but if person has history of violent crimes, the bar cannot be waived unless DHS determined that there are extraordinary circumstances, or the individual's crimes were a result of domestic violence, the individual was not the primary perpetrator of the violence, and the crime did not result in serious bodily injury. DHS is directed to create a database to track repeated K applications and notify petitioner and spouse when a second K visa is applied for within a 10 year period. All future K applications will trigger similar notice, with a domestic violence pamphlet being sent to K beneficiary. The fact that an individual was provided with this information and the domestic violence pamphlet for immigrants cannot be used to deny their eligibility for relief under VAWA

I know I am sorta new here and all but I was wondering if it would be possible to become a VJ #######. I read the gynecologist ####### thread and I think I fit in. Is there an initiation process, a jump in so to speak, or perhaps fees I have to pay to the top ####### to get in. Are there specific requirements as far as number of times you showed your boobs on cam or clothing you need to wear? Let me know!! ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIf K1 Denied, Try K3?

OK, here's my story, and why I'm worried. Anybody who can give me some candid insight, I'd appreciate it.

Bad news:

2. There are 15 years difference between me and my fiance in Vietnam. I'm 32. She is 17 [size=2]at time of filing, so I submitted notarized parental consent letter so that we can "legally marry" at time of filing (which meets obligations in the state we will marry), although it's unlikely she will get a visa within 90 days of her 18th birthday.

What are you thinking man? She's 17 at time of filing? So you've been dating her since she's 16 or possibly even 15?

Yikes

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of having met

I have never seen so many lazy people together in one place. After all the work, documents, paperwork and other stuff. How hard can it be to put together 4 or 5 sentences without prying into your personal life. My question is if you really want your fiancée or fiancé here with you and you are without them around six months why not go the extra mile and attached a paper with 4 or 5 sentences. And I would not call this an extra mile but to be conservative in my sentence. I guess this make it easier for me and that is why all you guys get RFE’s. Wow, I hard can it be!

Peter Miami

I have never met an adult who had to resort to name calling and rude comments just because others did not do as he did.

You must have led a very sheltered life. They are everywhere.

True, I guess I just chose to surround myself with positive people.

Maybe we were wrong but we did not mention how we met online. We said who came where and when....eg: Casey and his kids came to Canada for Christmas Dec 21-31. We sent pictures from each visit as well as boarding passes, hotel and gas receipts.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresshould my fiance be working in Morocco while we wait?

Oh dear. Now Hicham is telling me that his Dad will provide for him until he can work. What do I say to that? I think it would help him and give him a sense of responsibility and independence if he works and can bring some money with him- I don' tell him that but I think it. What should I do?

That sounds like more of a relationship issue than a visa issue.

You still have time, I would not stop the process. I know how hard the distance can make things. It seems to compound everything and can really wear you down.
At the same time when you ask about what happens if the marriage does not work it is not a good way to go into it.
I would not get married if you are not totally sure.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134/ I-864

I keep saying it for those that wanna listen. The K visa doesn't require an I-1864 affidavit of support but I-134 affidavit, U only need an I-864 when either doing the CR1 or the adjustment of status. I don't know where U get all this stuffs from but I keep saying it and some people keep getting upset with this. There is no consulate that ask for I-864 affidavit of support for k visas

It's in the guides. http://www.visajourn...om&page=k1guide That is why I asked.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134/ I-864
I am trying to get a list of everything we are going to need. I notice in the guides it says

I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a public notary), with all required supporting evidence. Some consulates may require a different form. Some require an I-864. If yours does, send that instead.

Which do we need?

I thought of having them printed off. But what I am wondering is which ones need a stamp on the back? Just the actual passport ones? I can go to Staples and have a whole sheet printed off for next to nothing.

As far as the 2 x 2 size....which need to be 2 x 2? Just the one for the I -129F and the visa?
