K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures2219(g)
Still "seeing" your ex... there are so many ways to interpret that. The American definition of the word and how it is used is not the same as what a non-English speaker would think. Your proof to the contrary and explanation ought to be fine, and if there was ANY doubt about the inference when questions are asked, the beneficiary can always ask to have the question restated to clarify understanding.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureslooking at info for packet 3 and question about police certificate
We had to buy birth certificates for adult children who are not immigrating too! They simply want all the data up front. Had to buy the police cert too. Keep your wallet open, the entire process is made up of small invoices. It's like being pecked to death by ducks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical data transferrance via Civil Surgeons
When my fiance gets here she will get the shots she needs. Now I heard there are some Civil Surgeons that will charge $495 for a new physical which is unnecessary. So, I wam looking for one who will just take the shot records and fill out the form as needed for submission for AOS.

I called a local one, he refuses to do so unless he does a $495 physical.

So my question is, do we have to be there? Can we find a CS who is 300 miles away and just mail, him the papers? What are we to do in his presence after all?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresa few questions
Some cultures put their birth around an annual event such as New Year or a special day and that's the best that you can get. My grandparents never knew their birthdays. There are times when not knowing the dates is legitimate, but that can be explained in a cover letter.

As for the extra spaces, YES put N/A or NONE in them. Now if there is a spot for six kid's names and there are no kids, write NONE in the name block for the first kid and leave the rest blank. You don't need NONE NONE NONE all over the form, I just put it in the first big block. Like if they want employers and you were never employed, put NONE under name of employer and that's it.

Save N/A for entries that do not apply, like if it asks if you are pregnant and you are a male, etc.

United KingdomWhat steps do you and your fiance/e take to manage the distance?
Skype, Google phone (2 cent a minute phone calls to the UK form a cell phone), emails, letters, and looking at the moon at the same time together.

United KingdomPaying tax on savings
That is money that you have saved on your own and already paid taxes on. It is your property. You have to declare amounts over $10,000 that you bring into the USA but I do not see how you can be taxed on it.

United KingdomWhat do you say when Americans tell you they are Scottish?
Yesterday I told Karen about this thread and asked if anyone mentioned Scottish ancestry to her. She said yes, everyone does! She is happy that they are so proud of the same heritage that she has, she just finds it unusual because she can't wait to call herself an American! Just think... in decades to come our grandkids will be the ones to tell new immigrants that they have Scottish roots. :-)

It doesn't upset me, it is just mildly irritating. There is more to Scotland than kilts, Braveheart and whiskey. Haha.

United KingdomMy IO's take on what you need vis a vis proof to remove a child from the country
My fiance brought two girls with he and we needed the father's approval. Finding him was a challenge. When we did we had a person of character get the signatures from him and then the person we hired got the notarization. Apparently if the witness is credible it can be notarized, and in the UK the notary is not like a US notary and many more people qualify as notary.

We were worried her would not sign to release the kids so we had a backup plan to get back child support from him. By him signing we will not go after back support. Win / win.

The Embassy asked questions about the biological father and after some checking said that they were glad we have the papers notarized. So, I'd not say no notary is needed. We also brought in birth certificates of adult children, as required on the paperwork, and they were never asked for or wanted.

The person who does your interview needs to feel comfortable that THEY can stand in front of THEIR boss with YOUR paperwork and stick up for it. They need to do their job as they know, but I am sure there is plenty of wiggle room in there. In the end people make the decisions, not computers.

While we had a solicitor draw up the papers for him to sign, there was nothing in them about irrevocability, and we worried that he may send the Embassy a letter on his own changing his mind. In hindsight I'd probably insert such a clause.

The release paperwork from the biological parent may also be of some use in the USA. We wish to change the kids' names to mine and my bride's last name, they want it too as they feel left out. This notarized documentation will assist in showing that the biological parent has no association with the children, and for that use you WILL need a notarized document.

Before you leave the UK get ALL the paperwork you think you may ever need. Birth certs, former marriages, death certs, property ownership, whatever may be out there. be your own records custodian. Then if you need a paper in a few years you do not have to contact the UK and try to deal with things across the pond.

United KingdomInterview At Embassy :'(

The OP had stated that her fiance had never been to the US before, I thought that was a prerequisite? or is it just generally meeting in person that is a must?

Not required, but a good idea. Karen is from Scotland and lived in England. I went to the UK for a month to see if I wanted to live there, then she came to the US for a month. we opted for the US. She is well aware of the reality of the US after having visited for a bit. It helps not wishing you had never left the UK.

United KingdomInterview At Embassy :'(

That it was refused but could be overcome with submitting evidence in relationship

Then he simply needs more verification that there is a bona fide relationship. print out ALL your chat logs, emails, grab your letters, customs forms if gifts were mailed, off our facebook account that has all that evidence of you two as a couple (is your status Engaged?)

This is one of those times when you thought you had enough and you did not. Grab it all, keep proving to them you have all this information until they ask you to stop and they have seen enough to know it is real.

I hope they completely understand what America is like. Some countries have a skewed idea of things. We are not all millionaires, we do not all have guns, we are not all fat...the list goes on.

he can but i dont know if that will be enough. did he take extra evidence to the interview?? did they ask to see the evidence?? when did you last meet??

There is no such thing as too much evidence. You want them to be happy with what you have provided, and no one knows just where that point is. bring it all, because "just enough" may turn out to be "not enough."

Baron555, I applied for a Russian Visa and there were plenty if detailed questions. Many were to see if I was going to recruit Russian brides! I can understand Russia's attitude on the Visa application if they think their women are all going to America as mail order brides.

United KingdomInterview At Embassy :'(
How long has your relationship been going on? How intense has it been? When they interviewed him was he able to answer questions like what color are your eyes? What is your favorite color? When is your birthdate? They will ask him things about you and he better not have said he does not know, that's a red flag. My fiance was approved in London and she said they asked plenty of personal questions to show that the relationship was real and not just a person you sit in the same office with.
