PhilippinesDoc.verification?650 to pay Delbros?what doc?
QUOTE (ciarra @ Jan 27 2008, 11:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hello vjers,

I would like to ask and clarify what exactly means paying delbros 650 for document verification?
And what documents are those?
would delbros verify one by one your passport. BC,Baptismal,Cenomar,Police clearance. etc?
theyverify when? after or before interview?

thanks and ihope someone shares info.

It's only for your NSO Documents like BC, MC and CENOMAR. The US Embassy can verify them as soon as they got your documents.. better to pay in advance (like 3-4 weeks before your interview) so not to cause any delay with the release of your visa.

Since I'm just beginning on this journey (still haven't received NOA1 for IR/CR visa), I'm still doing my initial research and I still don't understand the purpose of the CFO seminar. Apparently, after attending the seminar, my wife will obtain yellow certificate and then later a stamp and a green certificate. When is the yellow cert issued and when is the stamp/green cert issued...what is the difference? Is this CFO seminar required to obtain passport? Is my wife even required to take this or is it for a finacee only? Can someone please explain the purpose of the CFO seminar, when the best time is to go (before interview, after interveiw, etc), and just any other general information you feel is relevant and have time for. Thank you,

James

Hi! the CFO seminar is for every filipino who is migrating or going out of the country such as fiancees or spouses of foreign nationals in compliance with the Department of Foreign Affairs to help them develop informed decisions about intermarriage and life overseas.. the seminar (as they call them) includes pre-departure registration, attendees will fill-out forms about his/her and partner's biographical infos, short orientation of what the CFO is and what is their concern, film viewing then afterwards explanation of the video, and one on one interview (which last only for 5 or 10 minutes). The main purpose of this seminar is for the awareness of the filipinos about the foreign land, what to expect and how to cope up and how to adjust. In film viewing, they will play a video of domestic violence and some experiences of women being abused by their husband. This is not to discouraged of frighten the filipinas married to foreigners but to make them aware that there are some cases wherein the guy is turning to be abusive once the girl is in his country already.. on this part, they will give advice on what's the best thing to do and where to go. After the film viewing, they will group the attendees by country of destination (USA, Japan, UK etc.) and bring them to one room for a short seminar and open forum, here everyone is encourage to share their thoughts and raise questions. After that is the one on one interview, questions being asked are like where did u meet your husband? how did u met? how long? how is he to you? do you know where you going? what are your expectations? af course, there are different questions depending on their situation and status. They will issue two ceritificates after the seminar, the GREEN and BLUE certificate. In my case i used this 2 cert when i renew my passport to use my husband's family name (it's one of the requirements). The sticker if for the visa, they will check that at the airport. If your wife is using her married name in her passport already, then she can attend the seminar and have her visa sticker when she got her visa so she'll just go there one time, I read in some post that that is ok.. Goodluck to your journey! smile.gif

Well put "Marie 9", WOW I know this information is really going to help those that still need to attend the CFO. Great job..!!

PhilippinesCFO Certificate
QUOTE (j.debonis @ Jan 22 2008, 08:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Thanks for your replies. One more question about cfo. Is it required in order for her to obtain her passport. I heard that it is required but only by member's here at vj, but the dfa website does not include the cfo cert in their list of requirements. She has called the dfa and they haven't mentioned the cfo cert to her. I was planning on sending her to cebu in order to obtain it before she got her passport, but now I'm no so sure it is required for her passport. If she has to get it, that's fine, we will get it later, but I don't want to send her to cebu to attend the seminar if she doesn't need it for her passport. Thanks for all ur previous replies.

The thing is, if your wife has an old passport with her single name and needs to renew it to use her married name, then she will need to attend the seminar before she can renew her old passport because they will ask for the two certificate.. but if she never had a passport yet and its her first time to obtain one, then its ok not to attend the seminar yet, just bring her BC and MC at the DFA and that's good enough. Hope this help! good.gif

whats this documents verification? i read it on the manila us embassy website and it says there, ITS BETTER TO PAY EARLY THAN THE DATE OF INTERVIEW. then how will they verify my local documents (bc, nbi, etc..) if il pay the delbros earlier than my interview then HOW ON EARTH WILL THEY VERIFY MY DOCUMENTS?? obviously the only time the consul will check and see my documents is during the interview. so where and when does the verification happens?

anybody knows? i think its an applicants right to know how the process works before i pay that P650

As far as I understand it, the PHP650 is for the US Embassy to verify your documents such as birth cert., marriage cert., and CEMAR/CENOMAR at the NSO (if they really have the records to make sure our documents are not fake) that's why it's called for the DOCUMENTS VERIFICATION.. After we got our case complete at the NVC, the NVC will then forward our documents at the US Embassy, then the USEm can verify them. The earlier you pay (advisable is 2 weeks before interview date) the better so you will not have delays for the visa on the interview day. If you will pay the 650 on the interview day itself then it will take time before they can release your visa because such verification must be done first.

Philippinesdocument varification USEM Manila
Today this afternoon, I already paid the 650 fee for documents verification and it's no hassle texting and receiving reply from DELBROS.. the first text came after a few seconds after i sent my text and it says "Delbors has succesfully received the information u sent! we will send u a text confirmation after we verify your payment. Thank you. Delbros Delivers!" and then the 2nd text came after 26minutes acknowledging the deposit I made.. am so happy that today, ONE DOWN!! hehe kicking.gif

but wait, nobody post here that there's a PHP50 service charge in the bank! unsure.gif

Listen to this nice piece of noose I got from doing my weekley call to the USE.. They now need a P 650 fee paid at the metro bank ASAP After paing that fee they need me to send a text to Delbro International showing I made the deposit.

This is the info she gave me:

Go to any Metro Bank and deposit php 650

Account # 7-151-51420-7

Account name : Delbros International Logistics INC
Get two deposit slipps one for the bank and one to keep

after that is done you will need to send a text message in all capital letters to:

TN # 0917-5555-313
USE-MNL case number - first, last, middle name-(branch name)-(dat of deposit)-(time of deposit)-PHP650

Example of date 7 dec 07 day month year

She said people that already have interview dates don't need to do this and she was told to start giving this info out yesterday.

Thanks to Cadman76 for pointing this out to me, its not an extra fee but a required process which Delbros does, they verify that your beneficiary in the Philippines has a valid birth certificate and is sent to NSO for verification. Its actually stated on the USEM website http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3219.html the 6th bullet from the bottom of the page and has a link to http://manila.usemba...ov/wwwfdelb.pdf describing what Tim posted.

to my understanding, this fee if for verification of some documents only just in case it needed:

Applicants whose visa eligibility is dependent upon their marital status (i.e. K-1, K-3, CR-1, IR-1, F-1 and F2-B categories) will normally need to have their documents verified through the National Statistics Office (NSO) before the U.S. Embassy in Manila can issue the visa. Those with a delayed birth or death certificate or only local civil registrar copies of such documents may need to have their documents verified.
In order to avoid unnecessary delay in the visa issuance process, the U.S. Embassy in Manila strongly encourages applicants in the categories mentioned above to pay the document verification fee prior to their immigrant visa interview. Payment can be made through any Metrobank location. The cost of the document verification is P650 per applicant. For specific instructions on how to pay the document verification fee, please click here. If you are unable to pay for the document verification before your immigrant visa interview, you may be asked to pay the fee on the day of your interview. Please note that if you pay on the day of your interview, there will be a delay of one to two weeks in the processing of your application

hi nicole/philip

yes, to my understanding also, that P650 fee is for document verification and not for delbros delivery, but my question is, do i need to pay that if my documents are not delayed? or (late registered)? and if yes, when do i need to pay that? i dont have the interview date yet but our case (CR 1) is almost complete now.. pls make it clear to me.. thank u.

Well, we have read all those document related preparations. Now, could we hear also about all the other special kind of preparations from those who have had their interviews and also for those who have upcoming interviews?

e.g. 1. did you or will you go to a spa a day before just to relax all your senses and be more emotionally and mentally ready for the interview?

2. prayed the rosary 10x just to make sure mother mary hears and extends help?

3. attended prayer warriors rally to have them pray over you and for you?

4. did you or will you memorize tons of basic infos about your fiance/fiancee (name of first pet, his/her fist crush, favorite subject in high school, favorite music, etc.) just in case they'd be asked during the interview?

5. did you or will you buy or have a dress made specially for the interview? if so, what style?: casual dress or strictly professional looking?

anything you guys (especially those who have done it already) can share will be of great help to all the future interviewees yes.gif so pls share away.

Hi! am going to have my interview on Feb. 14 and so far, the main thing am preparing right now are the documents, but talking about preparation physically, emotionally and mentally am making sure am physically fit to make sure I'll be present on my interview day! Praying to God always to give me healthy body and keep me away from any form of illnesses. Am drinking buko juice during the day and hot milk at night, il go to a spa before my interview day.. am sure it will help to relax my mind and body. Of course like you said, it's important to know the basic things about your fiance/husband.. in my case, I always ask my hubby what is his kuya's name (keep forgetting it!! hehe) mare sure you know his family members (names i mean).. Am making sure also that I know the basic info at the forms we submitted, and keep recalling the first things about our relationships such as first date, first dish, first gifts, and so on.. regarding mode of dressing, it's better to stick to a professional look like one of the member here posted in her interview experience, so to let the consul know that u mean business, as she qouted.. (slack pants and a blouse with collar will do) about praying.. well, pray to God only.. He's the only source of our strength and intelligence. God Bless us all good.gif

dont worry, your wife will do fine. yes.gif when it comes to CR1 or IR1, the people from the SMEF-COW or PRISM doesnt give the petitioned spouses a hard time. the one on one interview will be fast and smooth. just remind your wife to photocopy some important documents bcoz sometimes they are asking a copy.

goodluck! good.gif

Important Docs like what?

Passport? NSO BC, MC,?

Please verify..

Regarding police certificates I've sent only NBI clearance. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and good luck to all VJ'ers.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisa Granted!
QUOTE (severinep @ Jan 4 2008, 08:57 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Voilà, our journey is over. My IR-1 visa (immigrant visa) was granted yesterday.

My appointment was at 1pm at the US embassy in Paris. We showed up at 12:15 pm and they didn't want to let us in so we came back at 1pm, time of the appointment.
After 10 mins, I had to give my letter of appointment to someone. I was called again and this time, she shecked my documents and asked for my medical. Asked a few questions like "When are you coming to the USA?". I answered I didn't know exactly. I was caught off guard as I can't go to the US if I don't have the visa. She told me I had 6 month to enter the US and to go sit down, the officer would call me for my interview.

By the time I was called, it was 4pm already and she just asked where I was going to live in the US (whate State) and where was my husband and that was it, she said congratulations, you'll get your visa in 7 days, don't open the sealed enveloppe we will give you bla bla bla bla...

It took less than 20 mins for everything. The wait lasted for 3 hours though.

Some tips: it wasn't mentioned anywhere that I had to bring en enveloppe (Fedex, DHL...) so I had to go to the post office and send it to the US embassy.
My husband had to scan the appointment letter he received or I was unable to do my medical on time. I received my appointment letter 1 week exactly before the interview and during that week, you had Christmas day and New Year's day. With doctors on vacation, I would have never had the time to do all this on time.

Good luck to everyone! It was way easier than I thought!

wow!! congratulations and am happy that u'll be together soon!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat info do I need to bring to the interview?
QUOTE (worrying @ Jan 26 2008, 10:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi there,

I know I am a bit ahead of myself because I filed an I-130 in September, the USCIS confirmed they received the I-130 and my wife and I are still waiting for further instructions.

Can you give me a general idea of the steps following this?

Also in terms of the interview, do I need to attend the interview with my wife in Montreal,Canada? and if possible could you list the paperwork/info that we need to bring along with us for the interview? I am just so clueless and I just don't want to accidently disgard something that ends up being relevent during the interview.

Thanks!!

Hi! as far as I know and what is it here in my country, it is not necessary that u'll be with ur wife on her interview day though it's going to be a "plus factor" if u will go cuz that's a big proof of ur love and ongoing relationship and support to her. As for the documents, she needs to bring the necessary ones such as the I-864 Affidavit of Support, your W2s and ITR, her birth ceritificate, marriage certificate, divorce papers (if one of you are legally separated), proof of your contious relatioship, photos, and other documents that u think is important to prove that ur marriage/relationship is real.
