Thank God my family is in full support and they don't ask things to make me uncomfortable. The problem is my friends and coworkers. It's almost 1,000 times I explain to them what a fiance visa is. And they are just not getting tired of asking "When are you getting married??" "Why does it take soooo long??" "Why doesn't he visit again???" Or even stupider questions like : "You're being too complicated. Just get a tourist visa and get married there! My cousin did that." - Yeah her cousin did that like..30 years a go. I was not even born yet!!! Things changed, guys. "Why not go to school there and then get married? " It's just.... ah yes the dreaded coworkers.... i had to show them the "hitler hits k-1 snag" video, got tired of answering their questions, they laughed and went ahem sorry... yeah...i hope it ends soon too sighs... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NEW reason for delay at CSC - 48,000 files damaged	Everytime I start to get my hopes up that they are working on applications, that I might hear soon, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, that it can't be much longer, that each day that passes means I am one day closer to the end, then something seems to happen that makes it worse. Like this. Now maybe I'll have to resend in everything. I've already been waiting more than 8 months. I don't even want to think about the delay that will cause. Especially with this news, I am overwhelmed with desperation and despair. I was fine until 5 months, but ever since then I have been slowly slipping emotionally to the point where it is hard to function normally. I am not a weak person, but this is destroying me, and I wonder how much more I can take. I know exactly how you feel. With this now, I feel like I'm moments away from crumbling into a pile of despair. My prayers and hopes to you, and everyone feeling the same. I hope this nightmare is over soon. We have spoken to our reps, the got excuse CSC isn't processing beyond 18th of July which is a lie. Just sent in another very opinionated letter mentioning all this nonsense. Its beyond ridiculous. We paid for our papers to be processed and instead they took our money and are doing daca classes while we are supposed tons it around quietly like little sheep and do nothing? I don't think so. Really big congratulations!  My hometown is right next door - Anoka -  so I felt like I needed to comment and pass along good wishes to a fellow NW suburbanite!  Luckily I'm in DC right now so ours went to Vermont instead of CSC, and we got our approval this week too.  Feels great, right?   thank you so much and yes it feels really really great, specially after seeing how much summer camp was going to cost this summer for one kid OMG! stress is almost all gone, now i'm panicking over the rest of things i hope i didnt forget to do and forms i dont know if i need to do yet hahahahaha!   cant wait to move there, stalking my future home on google earth makes me love the area already! NOA2!!	woo hoo     indeed!   oh and for those who like to know or keep track of this kind of info   we got in contact with our congress rep. were able to get our file approved for expedite about a month ago. Got 1 RFE on friday 19th of april, after we spoke with our rep she emailed them asking what was missing, and passed on that info to us so we could do it right away without needing to wait for the center's rfe letter. Sent in missing form saturday via express post at the airport in st-paul with signature confirmation for monday afternoon, while the congress rep sent in a scanned version of the missing info on friday afternoon to the service center. Package from center reveiced only the following friday, but our info had already been sent out. after another week and a half of waiting we finally got our noa2! omg what  a long wait its been! You've updated your timeline and it's not showing up on Igors list.  Maybe there is a glitch with Igors list and there have been other approvals??  I hope so. Regardless, congrats!   might be because i only did it a few minutes ago, does the site only update for the following day or is it instant? hmmm   i hope there are many more! Hang in there everyone.. we have all come this far! Stay positive! Trying to keep myself busy every day. Its good to vent though. I found it helps a lot to talk to others in the same situation. Makes us aware that we not alone in this bureaucratic nightmare, and can give eachother support as a community. I agree, I found it very helpful talking with people here. I was going positively insane but seeing others in the same boat makes it a little easier. I honestly thought there was no one else facing this. The support is definitely very welcomed and took a bit of the stress off my mind. Thank you everyone for sharing and I'll pray it all goes smoothly for all of us. My Canada stuff is a separate track. You guys are a very special case in my opinion. The relationship that Canada and the US has is far deeper, both historically and culturally. In this day and age, you guys should not have to go through what I have to with my fiancee. And there is no way I could just some special relationship between US and Peru... I just have to do what I have to do. Plus, if we could get you Canadians out of the line, maybe my case would get processed a little faster LOL i would have to agree, if candians didnt have to do all this we would probably help by not blocking up the line i blame it on the maple syrup.. i just wish a smooth journey for everyone, no matter what country they are from, it should never be this hard to bring a loved one closer. I think US and Canada should have a relationship like the EU. I should be able to completely relocate and work and live in Canada if I want to. The same right should be extended to Canadians in my country. We are way too similar and close not to have entered into such a bilateral agreement, in my opinion. oops sorry .. knew i forgot to write that in my previous post.. totally agree with the open border thing.. i mean if we can ship out water, hydro and oil down to the us with no immigration visas needed, why couldn't the residents also be allowed the same courtesy. We share enough of the economy and resources etc. And when children become involved in all this, though i agree everyone should be treated equally and each have their turn, kids shouldn't have to suffer because the government needs a piece of paper. Our NOA1 went in on august 10 2012, and last time anyone touched that file was august 14 2012 (last time it got scanned) i know the FBI came to see me (not very subtle the way they were parked in front of the school in big black vans, laptops, no plates etc i mean come on.. I don't even think Canadians should be standing in this line. And before anyone chimes in with "what about country X", Canada is different. And I am talking about a diplomatic arrangement between two sovereign nations. Besides, it probably will never happen, but I bet it would have pretty broad public support in both countries. i agree, i have the majority of my familly in the us, boston area, about 14 aunts/uncles and around 20 cousins etc, all citizens. i used to visit twice a year since the age of about 8 until i was around 19, i remember being able to cross the border, board a plane with just id and a passport if i take the plane. after it became mandatory for passports, and a travel visa to boot. i still go to the us pretty regularly, NY state is 45 minutes from here. In my case, it's not like i've never been to the us or have no family there etc. I dont understand the way they work sometimes, my fiance just spoke with his congressman hoping it would help, but people shouldnt have to go that far to get an answer. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Support thread for parents & children waiting for k-1	don't mean to intrude, just felt like posting here too.. i have a 8 year old daughter currently in elementary school, yesterday when i picked her up she started bursting into tears asking when daddy was going to bring us home with him ( he is a us citizen , works for air and space defense for the us gov. and luckily for us is able to come every couple of months or so for about a week). Not many are that lucky though. Even though she is not biologically his, but i do have all the custody and papers for her, soemtimes i start stressing and panicking wondering if that wont make it longer, harder, more complicated to get the papers to go to the us. He and i have been together for about 7 years now, reason we applied only last august is because it took a long time findig lawyer to get a court date for her papers. I'm hoping to be getting an answer before the end of the school year, dont know if i should sign her up for summer stuff , hire baby sitter etc, some of which has to be payed in advance, and i still have to schedule my vacation time too. Not knowing when we will get an answer makes it almost impossible to plan anything and we are all starting to suffer from it. you would think being from canada, i would worry less.. at least we are lucky that our consulates, embassies etc seem to be aware of the southern neighbour... i don't know.. i don't think i've ever been this stressed out in my life before. prayers and best wishes to all those waiting! hopefully csc hurries up soon	LA and CF	Male	Canada	2013-03-23 15:52:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Senator	i have also passed the 8 month mark now, and after waiting and waiting, and kid soon to finish the school year in the end of June and wondering if we should place her in a summer camp or sign her up for summer babysitting (bother you have to pay in advance, non refundable.. and me working full time)I am definately going a bit crazy here, talked to my finacé and he decided finally to call his congressman for info and opinions and help because he finds the situation with CSC ridiculous. i understand everyone is waiting, but I'm sure there are many of us living in different countries from each other all putting life on hold till the last minute for things like these. Isn't all this paperwork, our relationship evidence and time spent waiting proof enough of engagement? i totally agree! I've been with my fiancee for about 7 years now, he regularly comes visit in Montreal when work gives him time off, we both have been across the border many times this past year and before with no problems on day trips or visiting my familly in MA. They can see all that in the system if they enter the passport numbers, we have also provided fotos of us together at familly gatherings etc, so im sure rings arent a necessity, we only sent our photos and receips because we had them at the time. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Confusion about form 156 K	i remember seeing that question in our form too when we applied for the fiancee visa, we basically sent in pictures of the engagement ring with my fiancee wearing it and the purchase receipt for it. We did not send a letter of intent though, but have sent other proofs of knowing each together for many years. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Concerning the NOA2	I've observed this quite a bit on here, and it's hard for me to sit back and be quiet any longer. I see by your timeline that it took you a week under 7 months to get your NOA2. We're well aware of the fact that more than likely the only thing we can do is sit back and wait, but when there seems to be no end in sight to a wait that was originally supposed to be 5 months or so, it's hard to sit back and not at least attempt to do anything at all. We don't need people like you who didn't even have to go through this kind of endless wait rubbing it in the faces of those who are likely going to have an even longer wait than you had to go through and telling us to wait our turn. That's pretty arrogant of you. And this isn't just directed at you, but at all the people who have had the nerve to criticize those who are human and are getting a little inpatient from time to time at the fact that there seems to be no end in sight to the CSC delay. The OP has been waiting almost as long as you had to for your NOA2, and he's just been informed that he might have to wait as long as DOUBLE the time that you had to. That's a very tough pill to swallow, especially when awaiting wedding plans. And for me, it'll be 7 months on the 4th with more than likely an even longer wait, and there are some people who are up to 9 months plus and counting. I'm more than willing to wait my turn behind K-1 filers with earlier NOA1 dates, but how are all of us supposed to feel when CSC lets DACA filers (whose parents didn't even come to this country the proper way) butt in front of us, especially for those who filed I-129Fs prior to DACA being law? I'm Sept, but there are people waiting from July! I'm sure they would like to get on with their life. indeed we would! i do hope they stop kidding themselves by boosting up their time scores by only doing more recent aplications and actually get back to working on july-october cases and the few junes still left. Our file was approved last week for an expedite, they told us within the next two weeks we should be getting our noa2, but seeing how things are going i wont be holding my breath.
