K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsmailed in petiton (i-129f)

Usually, the fastest thing is to check with your bank for when the check is cashed, that is your first indication.

With mine, the check cashing went through only 3-4 hours before I got the email, so you are right, it is a little faster, but sometimes not a lot. But you are right in the fact that the check cashing is a sure fire sign that it's accepted. I've heard that some people, for whatever reason don't get the email notification and just see the check cashed and wait for the hard copy in the mail Luckily I didn't have to go through that

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsmailed in petiton (i-129f)
I mailed mine 6 days prior to yours (yours arrived Mid day February 12th and mine arrived Mid day February 6th). I received my email notification on Monday 11th, so I'd expect you to receive yours likely Monday the 18th since 6 days would be Sunday. This could vary by a few days depending on the number of applications sent in between our dates, but it shouldn't be too much. Also, I have still not received the hard copy, but I expect to see it in the mail by the end of the week or early next week. Not that there's any rush, since now the real wait begins (likely between 5 and 8 months) Best of Luck to you!

How did you send it? If it required a signature, then you needed to send it to the physical address instead of the PO box. There was two addresses listed in the instructions. There is nobody at the PO Box to sign for it (the point of a PO Box). With that said, I've read in other threads where people have done the same thing, and what happens is USCIS usually collects the notice and schedules the delivery or picks up the package. Either way, you should be ok, with what will likely be a one-day delay at most.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhere is the confirmation email/text? ;(

Hello!! I just need some enlightenment on this: my fiance sent our I-129F package on Feb 5th, by Express mail but we haven't received any confirmation yet! No text and no email! We checked it by the USPS tracking number and it says it was delivered. We did attache the G-1145 form. Is that normal? Iam getting cramps just to think that there is something wrong...

I sent my package to Lewisville on February 5 and have received my email notification and my hard copy NOA1. There could be many reasons why you haven't received anything yet. If they'd just rejected it outright and sent it back, I'd think you'd have received it back by now. Have you checked to see if they have cashed your check? If they have then you might want to double check the copies of your forms you saved to insure you have the proper address for yourself on there. If the check hasn't been cashed yet, then you may be getting the forms back. The cashing of the check was the first sign that I had of the forms being accepted.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJust booked trip

To see my Fiance, didnt think I would be able too, but what can I say, god is GOOD! I leave on the 25th of April and could not be more excited. we are October filers, so hopefully when I leave, he wont be too far behind.

YESSSSSSSSS, that is all.

Sounds Excellent. I just filed our petition earlier this month. We have 2 trips planned to occupy our time during the approval process (yes I am going to believe that it's just a matter of when and not a matter of if).

The next trip she will be coming here to spend almost 2 weeks in early April, then I have a trip planed for the last week of July/first week of August for around 10 days.

That last trip should be fairly close to our "expected" NOA2 date. We had originally hoped she'd be able to just book a ticket and return with me, but it seems that at the current pace the approvals are moving, we'll likely be a bit behind that schedule. Getting to see each other twice though will help us get through the process easier.

Enjoy your time together, hopefully your the rest of your journey will go well

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMy I-129F was just received
Also, just a little thing I haven't seen mentioned yet, most (if not all) new applications seem to receive a notice saying that the Alien Registration Number has changed shortly after the application is received (I got that online before I got my hard copy of the NOA1, but each case is different). When you receive this, don't get too excited or worried, it's just a normal part of the process now and doesn't speed or slow the process of getting the NOA2. Just figured I'd let you know it was coming as it's frequently asked about

EDIT to ask: It would be great if you could fill out the timeline feature of your profile. It only takes a minute and the more timelines that are filled out the better I believe for the site as a whole.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCSC STILL NO SIGN
I posted this in another thread today, but seems appropriate here as well.

I, like many others have been watching Igor's list in hopes of some sort of movement. Today, I noticed that 4 filers got NOA2's from CSC yesterday alone. Now, this could be a fluke, but that's as many as the last half of February combined. I'm hoping it's not just a fluke, and is the start of a push forward on fiance Visas at CSC

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNo Information or help at all on USCIS site :(
K-1 petitions in the VSC that are currently being adjudicated seem to be from the August/September time frame, so they definitely aren't nearly up to November's filers yet. The fact that the number isn't in the system does seem odd though. Even my case, which I filed in February, is in the system. For that, I'd recommend having the petitioner call them since they said they can't give the information to anyone else. As far as the petition itself goes, I assume since you have a case number that you have received your NOA1, and you should expect to wait another month or 2 before you get your NOA2

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsProcessing Time is unclear

For CSC, few.

CSC may be starting to pick up a little.

I was looking at Igor's list, and the last half of February (2 weeks) there were a grand total of 6 applications receiving NOA2's from this site (obviously the ones who don't update their timelines aren't counted). So far, the first 6 days of March hasn't been much better, as there were only 4 VJers who updated their status to show they'd received their NOA2. As of the writing of this post though, there were 4 more who got their NOA2 yesterday. This could be a fluke or the start of a trend, only time will tell, but I haven't seen 4 move through CSC in a day since I filed a month ago.

I got that but what "your alien number has changed" means?

Everyone gets these now. It seems that USCIS is now attaching an Alien Registration Number to the new cases shortly after arrival. From what I've read they used to do this closer to the end of the process, but now it's at the beginning. It's pretty normal, and it just means that you are in the queue for the standard wait

How long it take after NOA1 to NOA2? Also what documents should be send to speed the process? Does it matter from what country is my fiancee?

If you follow the GUIDES from this site, they will tell you what you need. From NOA1 to NOA2, unless there's military deployment or some extreme circumstance, there is no rushing the process. Wait times can vary. It can take anywhere from 5 - 9 months to see your NOA2. You really don't need to send too much as the USCIS doesn't make the final decision, that is made after NOA2 when it is sent to the embassy. If you send the info as laid out in the guides and prepare for the embassy properly, that is really all you can do

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCSC your a disgrace!

There was no reason to hang up. I was on Skype with him while he made the call. She hung up when he asked to speak with a supervisor or tier 2. That was the end of the conversation.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I was just stating that I assumed there was no reason for them to hang up, and not meaning to insinuate that there was (only that I wasn't there, so I am going completely by what you are saying)

I sincerely hope CSC gets back on track soon but in the meantime, my fiance will be writing a letter to try get the case expadited seeing as you correctly put it, USCIS operator hung up on him.

Best of luck to you. Not sure if you will get expedited or not, but I think that the news of them transferring DACA and other cases out of California should mean that they start actively working I-129F and I-130 again and get us all a little closer to the approvals we both desire and deserve

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCSC your a disgrace!
You can't really blame any specific service center for what the operators on the phone do. These operators are contracted to USCIS to answer questions as generically as possible. I think definitely shame on the operator for hanging up (assuming of course there was no reason to do so), but CSC isn't to blame for that.

On the good news front though, CSC has recently transferred some of their caseload to Texas. VSC did this last month and they began churning out applications pretty well shortly thereafter, so hopefully this is a sign that California is about to get back on track again

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsgood news is waiting for cases under CSC

 but hope they did not transfer those I129F to Texas, it is even slower there!!! could be those dream acts as Vermont.........

They didn't transfer I-129F to Texas. They transferred...

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services sent this bulletin at 03/12/2013 11:24 AM EDTOn March 8, 2013, USCIS transferred some casework from the California Service Center to the Texas Service Center to balance overall workload with processing capacity at the centers. The affected casework includes the following forms:

  • I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
  • I-765, Application for Employment Authorization (when filed concurrently with the I-821D)
  • I-765 Worksheet (PDF) (when filed concurrently with the I-821D)

VSC did this last month and they started churning out I-129F applications at a pretty good clip. Hopefully this will happen for California now as well.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK-1 NOA 2 CSC

Found out NOA 2 Sent March 12. A few words based on my experience at this point and observations.
1. Processing times on USCIS or VisaJourney websites are overly optimistic. The effective implementation of the DREAM act last August is dragging things out by months. Look at the percentage of filings processed for July, August and September. They do not coincide with any estimate of processing times. When USCIS pulled my case for processing it took them 3 days to approve it.

Igor's list showed 4 from the 18th as of this morning alone. I think they are FINALLY starting to move forward. I know I've got a long wait ahead of me, and I don't even want to think of what has been going through the minds of those with Late July dates when CSC basically stopped doing these as of mid july dates for several months. I know it would have driven me batty to have gotten so close only to have to wait for around 3 more months. I really hope this is the beginning of CSC getting on a roll and getting through you guys in a hurry.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUSCIS Update 19 March 2013
Thanks for the directions (map) to the graphs.

That is quite an apt analogy. I am a bit luckier than most in that we planned ahead a bit. of course this stoppage (or slowdown) has me concerned though as I hadn't planned for that. We wanted her to come over here sometime after August 1, so we tried to plan accordingly. I am in no "rush" before that, since she can't come before then. Of course when I planned to file in January, I needed originals when I'd thought copies would suffice so that delayed us a few weeks, but we still got to file early enough where the 5.5 month time frame would have had us getting sent to NVC in July. Of course, that was "the plan". Now it looks more like September. So once August rolls around I'll be as nerve wracked as everyone else around here I'm sure, so I keep watching the timelines and hoping they get moving sooner rather than later :)

Oh yes, I have seen those, but always seem to stumble upon them accidentally, never quite sure exactly where they are :)

From what I've seen it's really been pretty tough the past few months or so on everyone. It had just recently started to swing the other way for VSC and am hoping for CSC to do the same, but both of them need to kick it up another notch or two and get ahead of the game.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUSCIS Update 19 March 2013

Here's a site with historical data: http://www.aila.org/...px?bc=8767|6740

Note, it is unprecedented for them to be so long before an update. It's been a month and 2 weeks so far since the last one.

Thanks for the link. Hadn't seen that before. It is interesting to look through them. Seems they were doing ok through november and everything has gone downhill since then. I'm guessing they were probably a little ahead of schedule back before DACA, and as they waded through those, they creeped closer and closer to the deadline until finally surpassing it in December.

I have started to see an uptick from CSC this week though, hope they keep it up and get back on track. I feel so bad for those who have been waiting so long. I really don't think it is fair to them at all. I sure wish they had a better system in place. Something more along the lines of having so many workers dedicated per type of visa, based on how many of those visas come in. The whole thing is fee based anyway, so money shouldn't be a problem as far as that goes. Of course I'm probably over simplifying it, and we know you can't have simple and government in the same sentence without loads of irony attached

USCIS Site Maintenance

I see they have scheduled yet another Site Maintenance for this Sunday. The past 2 have each been scheduled for 4 hours each. This time the site is scheduled for a 12 hour outage (4 am - 4 pm ET). I keep wondering each time if they are going to update their processing times. It's been since February 5 and they haven't updated them. I'd read they update these monthly, and was hoping to see an update (even if there's not a ton of change). Anyone know if the longer maintenance window means that they will be updating the processing times, or is updating the site just as random as the rest of the process?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVERMONT AUGUST FILERS

I see VSC is approving September filers what about Aigust...its getting annoying what they r doing to us.....

I know that many August filers haven't gotten notification from VSC, but according to the official timeline from the latest update posted today, they are running at a 5 month pace. I also saw a post elsewhere from a VSC filer that said they talked to a Tier 2 who claimed they are at Sept. 3 (Might have been the second can't be 100% sure right now).

I would say that you are officially past the date if you are an August filer and would be within your rights to call and get a service request in. I've not reached that point (far from it right now), but I'm sure others can get you more details on how the service requests work or the best way to proceed at this point.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUSCIS processing date updated
I don't find it at all unbelievable. Anyone who has been here long at all would know they couldn't possibly have moved that date by the end of Februay (the date for which this update reflects). Next month they will update with a date of March 31 and there could be MINIMAL movement, but I don't expect to see an update for CSC with any real movement before the June update reflecting processing times through April 30.

Igor's list has shown a little movement lately though, so that is really where i'm holding out my hope. I want to see it move slightly for the May update, and when they update in June, I hope that it should finally show some real movement. Since they went months without really doing many (if any) I-129F applications, it will take months to actually see any progress with these updates.

As far as DACA goes, we knew they were focused on those, and I think they started accepting applications on August 15 2012 so they haven't moved all that much, but they likely had a huge flood of them right from the start.
