DHL and fedex are far more reliable,at least here.they do actually feel responsible for the package you put in their hands and treat them all like there are top secret stuff in there

I am waiting for the notice to ask me to pick up my package..I just tracked it and it delivered to Wasilla AK where the city I lived..so I would send it though fedex and DHL once i get it back as you advice me..hehehe..But I am really pissed off that i paid so much and did not send it.

Thanks for replying.. B-)

Do we even need the visa information packet? She has already filled the forms out. We already have our appointment letter.

Is the appointment letter the one that we need to show during the interview? I guess thats what i have thought of as the " letter of eligibility" for you to be interviewed.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFilipino applicants?

Hi Sasan. :)

You don't have to wait for the letter from USEM because sometimes, it doesn't even get delivered (I should know because I still don't have that letter BUT I already have my visa). You can proceed with the visa application and appointment even without it so long as you know your MNL case number. :)

Thank you so much. If that would be the case will the embassy wont ask anything from you like an evidence that you are eligible for the interview? No confirmation letter to show?

There is a link in my signature for the complete K-1 process in Manila

No you do not need to wait.

Where could i find that link sir?

The letter of eligibility is a notice for you to officially start the application. You cant proceed to the interview without it. We already got our NOA2 and as of now were still waiting for that letter.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDate of signatures

Be more specific.  What forms?  If it's the I-134, it needs to be no more than a year old but I would date it a lot closer to the interview than that.

All the forms. DS 156, 156k, 157, 230

Date it on the day you've prepared the form.

Thank you very much:)

What is the best date to write on the form on your visa applications? Is it the date of signing? Date of intetview? Or few days before the interview?

Im confused how come others went well without that letter from USEM. Or perhaps theyre application were okay ?and when USEM was about to send the letter they were already able to start their application and set their interview date?

You don't need to wait for your eligibility letter from the U.S. Embassy Manila.  Since you already have your MNL case number, go ahead and pay the visa application fee at BPI and then schedule your interview appointment.

If you want to read the Embassy's letter, click here: http://photos.state....on_rtf2_005.pdf

Thank you very much. But am i already considered eligible? Ive called the USEM and they said that once my petition is received from NVc they will still have to check it. If its okay thats when theyll send me that notice or letter.

SasanNot TellingPhilippines2013-05-26 01:04:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat's next?

<p>

NVC will mail you a notice with your Manila case number but it comes weeks after it is issued. I recommend that you call the NVC a couple of times a day starting about 5 business days after your NOA2. They may tell you to call back in a week or two. If that happens thank them politely and call back later that day or the next.
As soon as you have your Manila case number you can pay your visa fee, schedule your appointment date, then go do your medical.
We were blessed as we had our Manila case number in 5 days and her interview one month after NOA2.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence of engagement

Your timeline is blank so not sure where you re in this process.  Still waiting for the -129f approval?

The I-129F only looks for proof of having met within the past two years; photo together is something they look for.  They also want the Letter of Intent stating you plan to marry within 90 days fore each of you.  Don't worry about an engagement ring or receipts of same.

The embassy during the visa application asks for evidence of genuine engagement:

http://photos.state....f2_rtf2_001.pdf

k. EVIDENCE OF A GENUINE ENGAGEMENT. You must be prepared to prove to the consular officer that you have a genuine relationship with your petitioner and a clear intention to marry within 90 days of admission into the U.S. In the past, successful applicants have submitted photographs, letters, e-mails, phone records, bank records, and remittance records as evidence supporting their relationships and intent to marry.

Were already waiting for our interview sir.

SasanNot TellingPhilippines2013-06-15 16:57:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence of engagement

I don't think you need to prove that you are 'engaged', just that you have met within the last 2 years.  I have heard of some people sending the papers before they are 'officially' engaged.  I never sent any evidence to being engaged, even though we were at the time, I guess we sent a picture we took when we got engaged where you can see my ring on my hand, but that's it and no one would notice unless they are paying attention to that.  So I wouldn't worry about it :) Other evidence is more important, like people already suggested.

Ok. Thank you so much for your help:)

The last 3 months would be ok. :) you can compensate with other evidences :)

Thank you very much for your reply.

SasanNot TellingPhilippines2013-06-15 09:34:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence of engagement

Are you still waiting for NOA2 or are you up to have an interview?

For non-NOA2
dont worry. Just send what pictures, receipts, and proof of being together.

For those up for those up for an interview :

You can show pictures that you sent with the I 129F, skype logs, phone transactions to fiance, ym logs and other evidence that you are still a couple. No rings needed.

Hope that helps :)

It really did help. Thank you. Im now waiting for my interview date.

By the way, with regards to phone transactions will it be okay to show just the last 3 months? For example the calls we made since last april? I cant retrieve the previous months already

Proof of engagement is your letters of intent to marry.  This is all you need to prove your engagement.

All other suggested proof is just to prove you are in a relationship, which is still good.  But if you are specifically asking about proof of engagement, the letters of intent is all that is needed.

Dyo mean an updated version of the one we submit during I-129f? Ok. Thank you sir.

I think you should be okay. My fiance and I don't have pictures of out engagement to since we didn't take pictures when he proposed but as long as you can prove your relationship is real, then it's all good. We didn't get an RFE.

Thanks for your reply sir. Will keep that in mind.

Im really worried about this one. In our case we havent really documented our engagement since we only talked it over thru the phone:( we couldnt present anything to prove this agreement. And we havent met yet since his last visit.

Is it really necessary to prove the engagement such as the ring and etc.? What are other chances or possible ways to prove our case?:(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBe honest with profession?:(

Never ever ever lie to the US government about anything, ever. If it's important, they will catch it. That's called "material misrepresentation". If they catch you in a lie about something important, even years later, they can revoke any immigration privileges they've granted up to that point, even citizenship!

Never lie on a form or in an interview about anything!

That said, I don't even understand why you're worried. Why on earth would they even possibly consider you being a nurse to be a bad thing?? Granted you may probably have to do some extra work to get licensed as a nurse in the US, but why on earth wouldn't you tell them you're working as a nurse now?

Im just worried that they'll think im Just using this visa to get into US and work there and probably deny my application.

I am a nurse and I just had my Immigration interview last June 13th. Everything went well, I even told the consul that I am planning to take a state board when I get there.

Is that so? Thanks for your reply maam

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIndividual income tax return. 2 Types??

No. What everyone in this thread has been telling you is that the 1040A is a 1040 form. There are 3
types(http://www.irs.gov/t...pics/tc352.html): the 1040, the 1040A and the 1040EZ. Your fiance used the 1040A to file his taxes, so that is the form you need. That is a copy of what he filed with the IRS for his 2012 taxes. The 1040A and his W-2 are what you need. You are fine.

Aawwee thank you very much for this enligthenment maam:)

The embassy letter actually states :

"You should also submit your petitioners most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). "

http://photos.state....f2_rtf2_001.pdf

They will have ZERO issue with the 1040A.

There is a link in my signature below for the K-1 process in Manila.

If the 1040A is the one he filed, then the 1040A is the correct one for him to have given to you. Did he also give a copy of his W-2?

Yes. But he received a 1040 last 2010 it was just changed to "A" since he changed dependency status from his parents. Yes, he also gave me w2

SasanNot TellingPhilippines2013-06-26 04:12:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIndividual income tax return. 2 Types??

1040 is for filing with itemized deductions while 1040A is called the short form with no itemized deductions.  Go to irs.gov and request for a tax transcript.  IRS will then mail the official tax form on record that was officially filed with the irs. Hope this helps.
Good luck!

My fiance is from the US & im from the philippines. Would that apply?

The tax transcript is the best option because it has everything needed for the AOS.  They're pretty easy to get if you go to an IRS office.  He will walk out with them that day and can send you a copy.  He will need them eventually for when you adjust status.

Which one is the tax transcript? The 1040? Or 1040A? Or neither?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCriminal history

If she is registered at gosuslugi.ru, then she can request Criminal Records info online. These requests take priority over the actual face-to-face requests made in the Informational Center, because Russia is now trying to develop Electronic Services. It may vary region to region, but I (in Vladivostok) was able to get this piece of paper in 6 days versus 4 weeks previously. She will still need to go and collect actual piece of paper with the stamp, but it might be much quicker.

I can tell you I was on an international flight a 2 weeks back and the crew announced that the I-94 is no longer filled out manually but is processed at entry.

good luck with your entry!

resident of Houston here too - my wife will POE July 15th into Houston also smile.png

wow, that's some news!

So basically, you do not have any papercopy to present to authorities afterwards, they are supposed to check the website. Did you only have to show your passport and customs declaration form to the officer?

Was going through customs faster / slower due to this change? I imagine that if officers need to "process at entry" and fill info out on computer, it might slow the line down...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresdoes beneficiary NEED noa2 from petitionery for interview

I was never asked for NOA2 at the interview. Copy is enough for your fiancé just to have for her records at the moment.

The Moscow Embassy site http://moscow.usemba...iv-fiancee.html clearly states that as a part of financial documents from a US citizen petitioner your fiancé needs to provide Employment Letter. It doesn't say "Copy of Employment Letter". Where copy is acceptable, it is stated "Copy of original, signed tax returns for the last year (both W-2 and 1040). If copies of tax returns are unavailable, provide transcripts from the IRS". It is expected that you provide originals. Well, you do that for all other documents from the list (birth certificate, police records, all of the forms), why all of a sudden an employment letter is a copy? I think it might raise a question.

We included an original Employment Letter in the package. It took us some time to wait for docs to be ready and then to be shipped. We are both rotational workers and travel a lot. Aligning such stuff becomes a difficulty sometimes. But we both felt that delaying couple weeks is a better option then fixing problems if the interview doesn't go well. Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresB1 Visa disapproved in Malaysia, interested in K-1 Visa

I'm a US citizen corresponding with my girlfriend in Malaysia.  We're both the same age 53, met on a Christian dating site and are interested in getting married.  She doesn't fit the profile of someone just trying to escape their country for a better life.  She has assets in ML, including a house,  a good life financially, and family in good shape financially as well.  I'm also very financially stable as well with a pension.   My girlfriend recently filed for a tourist Visa to come visit me here.  She was interviewed at the U.S. embassy in her country and turned down for the tourist Visa because the IM officer interpreted our actions as intending to get married since he saw we met on a dating site.  He then advised her to apply for a different Visa.  I have no problem with that but am concerned that this is a "black mark" against my girlfriend in the eyes of immigration and may be detrimental in my applying for a Fiancee Visa after my trip to Malaysia.  Does anyone have any thoughts on my situation?
