Ah! Oh god. I woke up this morning, checked my email as I always do and saw one from USCIS, I just figured it was something to do with the account as I had to re-open it recently due to inactivity, but NOPE. Our approval came on the 4th!

We filed on the 15th Feb, NOA1 dated on the 21st Feb, no RFEs....103 days. It feels unfair to those still waiting from long ago. Stick with it guys, your time will come.

It may not be fair, but it's definitely not of your doing.  It is what it is.  Each of us will get ours in due time, just some may take a bit of extra diligence.

Congrats, now that you got yours, can you tell them it's ok to process mine?  devil.gif

I've done the same with Vermont tongue.png, I've got a whole word document saved with a sampling of the I129Fs I could find dating back to the beginning of Jan. I'll check up on the earlier ones every now and again and hopefully I'll see movement soon.

It's probably a bit excessive but it makes me feel better and gave me something to do other than refresh our case status every minute.

I feel better, at least if anything i'm doing less than others ;)

As for Vermont, I feel, as I said many times during the CSC slowdown, that they could really alleviate a lot of people's headaches and stress if they would just come out and say "look we are behind in this particular category and we need to catch up so those in these certain categories, expect a slight delay.   That would be such a relief for everyone to at least have some knowledge about what is happening.  I think they believe that updating processing times may accomplish this but it really doesn't.  They need to be more transparent about what they are doing.  After all, this isn't a welfare check we are looking for here, we all paid for a service and we deserve to know how they are going about accomplishing the tasks at hand.

Ok enough of my soap box.  Back to waiting anxiously for that notice

Too add to the fun, now the other one got approved today.  so now I either wait patiently or go searching for other filers....what to do, what to do?

Ok, so I have issues with patience...sue me smile.png

I went ahead and went through all the numbers from 300 before my case to 100 past my case.  Here are the results I found for those interested.

There were 16 total I-129F petitions filed in that grouping of 400 total applications

1 Approval 29 May

2 Approval 3 June

3 Approval 4 June

1 RFE 23 May

3 RFE June 4

1 A# changed 29 May

2 A# changed February 12 (mine is one of these)

3 A# changed February 13

If I may ask, what exactly are these. I know the file goes to NVC, then to the local embassy, then the embassy sends her some forms which she fills out and returns, then an appointment is set. Anything else?

the USC has to fill out and send a form I-134 affidavit of support. It has criteria that must be met and proof that must be sent with it  I believe a lot of embassies require an updated intent to marry form, but not sure if all of them do.  Of course she has to do medical and get her records in order including a police report.  Check the guides and the country specific forum for more detailed information, but that's the basics

A curious thing happened today.  about a month back, I decided to put in numbers close to mine but before me in order to keep an eye on a few applications from around the same time at the CSC where mine is at.  I had to go back several hundred digits to get some I-129F cases, but I found 2 in a row.  Today when I was checking them, one of them had gotten an approval since I checked them yesterday.  This is not really much of an update, but for me it is kind of exciting.  I know it doesn't guarantee me anything, but to see a case with a nearly identical time frame being adjudicated means I can actually start thinking in earnest about the next steps.  I'm already fairly prepared for them.  Just need to print and sign the form and mail everything over.  It's kind of funny, 2 months ago I thought for sure I'd be just taking the stuff over in my July trip, now it seems that I may actually have to mail it over sooner.  Anyway, it's not much, but wanted to share it with everyone here at VJ.  I know some are still waiting past their times and this isn't meant as a downer for anyone.

So I just checked igors list and out of the last 5 approvals for California 4 of  the people have a later noa 1 date than me.I'm 14th Feb and the approvals were 15,21,27th Feb.it makes me nervous when I see people behind my date getting approved.I've read so many stories on here about peoples file getting lost in a black hole sad.png

It's understandable to have some nerves, but it's not really anything to worry about.  It almost never happens that you get your adjudication without seeing some after you get approved.  I won't even be shocked if I start to see a good chunk of march start to get done before I see mine.  That just seems to be the norm.  If it gets to where they are no longer processing any in February is when it is time to get nervous

Now that the December and January filers have been transferred, has anyone had the patience to call uscis to find out exactly where they are with processing petitions?

There's a new thread in the Service Center forum where people are posting saying they got new notices today saying their case has been transferred to their local offices.  My guess is that VSC sent a bunch back to the Texas facility where we all originally filed and they in turn, are processing and sending them to each individual local office for adjudication.

Here's the link:

David,

Thanks for putting that in perspective. Do you know of any resources which list out precisely which immunizations are needed?

I see. If that is the case, hopefully the tide will turn.

Honestly, I'd check out the Regional China forum for country specific details.  I know that in my personal case, my fiancee is from the UK and I found through the forum here that they do not have the Chicken Pox vaccination in the UK, but you say you had the Chicken Pox and they take your word for it.  Some of the vaccinations may or may not be available to you depending on your country and you may need to get some done here.  Below I've posted a link to the USCIS page that lists the vaccination requirements to immigrate, but you'll need to reference your individual country to see if you can get them all there.  If not though, don't worry, although it's easier to do them ahead of time and just bring the records with you, you can still pay to have them done here before you adjust status, it's just more time and money at a later date.

Do you not have to go to approved doctors with proof of interview appointment in hand before you can do that?

Also, I'm confused by the comments regarding VSC. Some say they've transferred December and January cases and that this is good news; others say it's depressing. My estimated timeline is September 3-8. Given that I received NOA1 on 2/28, that would make it just under five months, which seems to be the standard waiting time, give or take. Were it six, seven, or eight months, then I'd begin to worry.

You can have your immunizations done at any time.  Technically they aren't required until you actually want to Adjust status since the K-1 is a non-immigrant visa.  Of course the whole point is to get married and adjust status, so you will need the immunizations eventually.  Many find it cheaper (or free) to have them done in your home country.  I have really just been dealing with the UK, but I imagine it is also relatively simple to update your immunizations in Canada much cheaper than the US, so it's a good idea.

For the medical that is done at the approved facility, that is a complete medical examination.  You can do immunizations that you need at that time, but (at least in the UK) they charge you for them on top of the regular charge for the visit.  This of course has to wait, because once your medical is done, they send those files to the embassy with your case file, so if you don't have a case file, that won't work too well.

As for the whole VSC thing.  Right now, VSC is not processing cases as fast as they are coming in.  They are falling behind and it is a very frustrating thing to watch.  This is something that tends to happen quite frequently at both service centers.  They seem to adjust which types of applications they give higher priority to depending on their workload.  Generally when they get too far behind in one, the rearrange the priorities and start working on them again.  In this instance, it seems whatever VSC has prioritized, they couldn't stop and work on I-129F petitions so they sent quite a few to Texas.  This is a double edged sword.  Texas doesn't usually adjudicate this type of petition so there is a learning curve, which could mean a slower process or possibly a higher rate of RFEs.   Nobody really knows for sure, so some people tend to look at it as the glass half full and others see that glass half empty.

Your timeline on here will fluctuate over time.  I've seen mine as early as June and as late as October.  I figure it's best to plan for my personal case, to plan as if they will be done sooner so I am ready, but to also figure it could be as late as October so I don't get myself too worked up during the roller coaster that is the Visa Journey.

I'm new here...
Sent I-129f on 02/18/2013, received on 02/22/2013, noa1 on 02/26/2013 out of CSC... Just waiting to hear word on noa2.
I have only begun to get anxious about the noa2 (even though it has only been just over 3 months lol).
Should I start prepping for the interview? Gather documents/pictures, get immunizations, etc...? Is that crazy? What is everyone else doing?
Also, I've had to assemble documents to proof that I have intent to return when I have visited my fiancé (6 months of bank statements, bills, pay stubs, letter from employer and tax info). I am just wondering if anyone else has had to go through this? I really hope everything else is smooth sailing, and good luck to all! smile.png
Cheers!
And sorry for rambling!

It's never to early to do your preparing.  Immunizations sometimes take multiple visits to get them complete, so it would be wise to start now.

Assuming here that you are the beneficiary....you may want to also have your petitioner get their supporting documentation for the I-134 affidavit of support prepared so all he has to do is print it, sign it and mail it to you with the supporting documents right after the NOA2.

Best of luck to you on the next steps of your journey

Whats wrong with VSC? Csc starting to process feb filers..... Im so sad beause its been a year i havent seen my hunnie...sad.png((

Don't let it get you down, VSC will kick it back into gear soon, I'm sure this is just temporary.  I still can see CSC slowing down in the very near future, so although I know it's possible to get a notice in the next month, I am fully prepared for it to take me 4-5 more months.  Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst is the only way I know to not go crazy during this wait.

Best of luck to you and all the rest of us on this often long and arduous journey

Hey all! I'm also a February filer, NOA 1 received on 2/12.  Is anyone planning a wedding at this stage? Just curious to see if anyone else is taking the risk and picking a wedding date before getting the NOA 2.

We have set a presumptive date, but we are keeping things simple and just doing a courthouse civil ceremony with a small reception, so we can move forward through this process, then if we desire a full fledged ceremony down the line, we've discussed doing a vow renewal at some point in time.  With this all in mind, we haven't actually scheduled an appointment or filed any of the required documentation, we just picked a date that may work within our estimated time frame.  This leaves it very open to changing it down the road.   There are too many variables to lock into anything before the visa is in hand.

I don't expect that much so i won't get disappointed. Ours might be processed by September but I'll be more than happy if by July we'll get our approval. smile.png

I'm with you there.  I am really trying not to "expect" the NOA2 at any given point, but I am preparing for it to come in August and am mentally prepared for it to be as late as October.  This way I don't get overly anxious.   At least that's the plan.  We'll see how that works out when the time gets closer

You guys!

A few January 2013 filers got approvals today! Some from CSC and another from VSC... but still.

Here's the January 2013 filers thread LINK

You know what I'm hoping? That February 2013 filers are next in line and we'll get our NOA2 very soon. I'm trying to not keep my hopes very high, yet I'm pretty excited to just think about our NOA2 arriving sometime in the next 2 months... Imagine!!!

How's everybody doing? Hope all is well star_smile.gif

I actually saw those January approvals on Igor's list from yesterday.  Although they were the odd duck and mostly surrounded by November filers, it was nice to see.  I mean, January 3 is only 38 days before my date.  That's just kinda cool.  I still am not "expecting" my NOA2 until August (ish) but I will take it sooner without hesitation

UK-USA-K1MaleUnited Kingdom2013-05-09 19:11:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFebruary 2013 filers K1

Why does it do that? What is taken into account for the date to change on the timeline?

It's a part of the VJ system. Whenever timeline's are updated, it takes that information and compiles an average using the type of case you are filing and the service center that you are filing at to create an average. It then takes that average timeframe and adds it to your NOA1 date to come up with your estimated timeframe. Occasionally, someone gets an expedited case or a case may fall through the cracks and take longer than normal and when this happens it can cause timelines to jump forward or backward before adjusting for the norm again. Also, as processing centers get faster or slower, VJ timeline averages will show this and it will reflect on your timeline over time. The best way to tell if your processing center is doing better or worse is to check your timeline occasionally and see which way it's moving. Don't let brief jumps one way or the other fool you. Just watch it over the long term and you will start to notice trends.

They received my petition on 2-26 ,but I didn't receive NOA1 till 3-4 do I belong here or in March thread XD

Your NOA1 should have a priority date on it that is usually a few days after they received it (takes a little time to get each day's batch processed). That date is the official filed date. If you received your NOA1 in the mail on March 4, you may have an NOA1 date of anywhere between February 27 and March 2, but do check for that and you will have a more accurate timeline. Of course whether it's march or february, you are welcome here and we all wish you the best of luck in getting through this journey as smoothly as possible

Our projected date hit 8/30 today, got a bit excited. Probably not worth much, but I've been watching the date dance between 9/1-9/3 for the past few weeks, kinda cool to see "August" there.

Oh how I envy you. My timeline's been heading the wrong direction since I filed. Started off mid August, now 7 weeks later and it's early to late September. Basically my timeline has moved back almost as far as the length of time I've applied. Just gonna have to keep being as patient as I can, and should probably stop checking that thing, because I know it's not getting better right now for CSC filers

Our projected NOA2 date at VSC keeps teetering between 9/1-9/3.

Yes, VSC is moving at a face, at or faster than the applications are coming in. CSC is moving slower than applications are coming in, so our dates keep sliding backwards. These things tend to cycle, so I'm not going to count on anything until it's much closer to the time. For now I keep watching, waiting and hoping.

I wish August....when I first applied my date was showing 2nd week of August. In the past month, my date has now moved further and further back and is now in September. I surely hope CSC gets it together soon as VSC has done. I'd much rather see the dates moving closer instead of further away

There really is no rhyme or reason to how these applications seem to be handled. Watching this form and Igor's List, I see people who haven't seen a bit of movement on July applications, while some August and September applicants have approvals. Timelines are good guidelines, but every person's journey is their own, and although some are similar, no two are exactly alike. Patience and diligence is all we really have.

I got mine pretty fast; I consider my timeline a bit on the lucky side. If you were matching my timeline, you'd have received yours yesterday, but a lot of people say it takes theirs up to 2 weeks to show up in the mail. Give it a little time, if they cashed the check, you should soon have your NOA1 in hand.

Best of luck to you

Hello everyone:

I'm new to this forums. I'm February Filer too. I mailed package: 2/5/2013, delivered/arrived: 2/7/2013, received text/email: 2/12/2013 (NOA1), received text/email: 2/15/2013 (Alien Registration Number was changed)...I did not receive NOA1 hard copy yet....Is this normal? I'm so worried. Anyone, please advise.

Thank you.

Mail service times can vary, but if you received your text/email and the Alien Registration number changed notice, then you have an NOA1 on the way. It will likely be there any day now

Our check was already cashed two weeks ago but so far no NOA1 hard copy. No text or email notification either.
But as long as the check is cashed we should be in the system right?

I've heard people say that they never received a text or an email when filing the form, but eventually got their NOA1. It's possible, perhaps you sent the form, unsigned, undated, illegible or misspelled email and/or phone number.

The good news though is from all my reading, I've not come across anyone who had their check cashed who never received their NOA1, so I'd say the chances are really good that you will make it through that first stage at least.

Once you have your NOA1, you should be able to take your case number and set up your online information with that.

Good luck

Well, I think I've hit the last status update I'll get for awhile. I received an email stating that her alien registration number had changed. I've been reading here long enough to know that this really doesn't mean anything except the fact that my file is most definitely there and is in the queue to be adjudicated at some time in the future. I expect the NOA1 hard copy in the mail anytime now, but that's not really new since I did receive an email notification. Now it's wait time. Good luck to all those on this journey ahead of me and those who are coming in after as well. Hopefully we all get through the process and get to be with the ones we love

Hello everyone, I am brand new to this forum (at least as a poster), as this is my first post.

I used this site extensively to gather information before filing our K1 Visa. I'm from the USA and my fiance is currently in the UK. I just sent my forms off yesterday February 5, 2013 via USPS Express mail. It seems to be quite a nerve wracking process, so I'm hoping that posting here with the rest of you will make the journey a little easier. Best of luck to everyone here, and thank you to those who have gone through this before us and are here to help us through, you are appreciated, probably more than you know.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCan't wait!

Thank you, that is really good to know. We have emailed them, like it states to do in the instructions, but no response (3 times). My fiance is going to call tomorrow. I dont know what we will do if we cant get an appointment. Hopefully, they will have someone fill in for him.

But, thank you for this. It is helpful.
