K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI PASSED THE INTERVIEW..
QUOTE (stellar8 @ Oct 23 2009, 10:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello my fellow VJ's. First of all I would like to say thank you KUDOS good.gif for all your help and support you have given me when I was still a 'babe' in this website (I still am) ahihi I really appreciate it very much. If it wasn’t for all of YOU (you know who you are) and this website it would be a hard time for me so thank you from the bottom of my hypothalamus! I've learned and discovered a lot of things here that I never thought I can accomplish star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif It's better to ask even sometimes you may sound stupid and silly but hey I'd rather be "Makulit" and be ignorant. I can say that, all the interview experiences are exactly the same from what I’ve read here once you're inside the Manila Embassy (though we have different cases and consuls) you won't be scared at all (well, not really!) you will know exactly what's going to happen, what to do, where to go and what to expect.

Last Friday, October 23rd was my interview and I was in the exact place from where you've been, maybe the one reading this right now is at the same spot from where I was seated. Isn't that amazing?! ohmy.gif While I was there waiting for my name to be called or my number flash on the screen. I can imagine ALL your interview stories even the "Masungit" pre-screeners, I was thinking… hey maybe that's the one they're talking about haha.. tongue_ss.gif even the consuls.. But thanked God I have none of those wheeEeew! I wanted to tell you what happened the moment I stepped inside the Manila embassy but you already told everyone here. good.gif The procedures are pretty much the same. I had my interview with this young American handsome guy and it was very pleasant more like of a casual conversation and just like everyone else I was so nervous, anxious to get inside that sliding door. Once the door opened I felt my heart.gif dropped on the floor haha and I just wanted to disappear and be in another time, place or planet… anywhere but here crying.gif I said to myself.. I felt all my insides were turned upside down. I don’t know if I was sweating or it’s just the cold air-conditioned room that makes it even colder bbbbrrrrrr! My number flashed at the end of the final interview room (I forgot the room number sorry) and to my surprise there are actually 2 consuls inside that room.. I was interviewed on the right side which is not really a good idea for the embassy to do because you can hear everything from the other side that makes it even harder to concentrate on your own interview. But hey the consul I had was handsome enough to get my attention tongue.gif haha there’s nothing he will ask that you cannot answer cause its all about YOU and your PETITIONER .. basic questions like…

Randomly…

Your name, age, birthday…
When, where, how did you meet..
Who’s your petitioner..
What does he do for a living..
Petitioner’s age, birthday..
Ask about the pictures..
When, where you got married..
How many times your petitioner visited you in Phils..
Just looking at the cards but not e-mails nor chat print outs..

I also brought with me tons of evidences though the consul didn’t really check most of the documents I gave the pre-screener (just in case they need some more proof of our relationship.. its better to be ready than regret it and be sorry just like what most VJ’s will advise you..

To make the story long, este short hehe .. I have anticipated those magic words “Your petition has been approved” the reason why I was expecting it is that I was prepared and gave them all the exact documents they required from “us”.. you really have to give those 'EXACT' documents that they’re looking for..

like…

NBI
NSO MC, BC
CENOMAR
I-134 AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT
PETITIONER’S EMPLOYMENT LETTER
W2’S, 1040, paystubs..
Cards, letters, e-mail, chats..

After that.. the consul will ask you to go to the releasing area.. sit down for a while.. relax.. chill.. and wait for your name to be called and not your number cause this time you won’t be needing it anymore but keep it for souvenir..

Mine was 7001… yes.gif

once you heard your name, stand up or I might as well run for it hehe.. and take your “PINK SLIP” and pay AIR21 (P205)for your visa to be delivered..

So right now.. I’m just waiting for my visa to arrive so that I can be with my husband in no time luv.gif .. mahal, thank you for all your support.. I love you more..

walking out of the embassy makes me wonder with a lot of things.. how many people have been there.. their own personal stories/experiences and it fascinates me.. I try to seize the moment, I want to capture every detail of it.. I was walking real slow looking around the embassy.. observing..

I took my final step out of that exit steal door that is kinda rusty and that doesn’t rotate anymore when you push it haha… (you have to make some extra effort/strength in doing so or else you’ll be stuck there forever) haha then I thank the lady guard and said goodbye…

Finally I was out of the embassy but lost for a while cause I don’t know how to get home.. going there caused me P300 for a cab I wanted to save money for the transportation and P300 is a lot for me tongue.gif hehe.. so I just keep walking asking the vendors how to get to EDSA.. so I took a jeepney going to Cubao but then it was really a “Hot Sunny Friday Morning” that’s why I transferred to an FX..

once I paid the driver I fell asleep tongue_ss.gif hahha.. then I woke up cause there’s no more passenger but me at that time.. I started to feel so tired maybe from all the 3 months preparations, stressed that it caused me.. but HEY, HEY, HEY it’s worth it I’m telling you!!

Til we meet again…

And oh.. I almost forgot..

I want to thank my CREATOR, my GOD…

rose.gif Lord Father God. I thank you for all the hardships I’ve been through.. it made me appreciate what I have right now because YOU taught me so well. Thank YOU for not leaving me in times of desperation. May this experience keep my feet on the same ground as I was before… Sorry, if sometimes (or most of the times) I doubted YOU sad.gif for questioning YOU sad.gif for not simply trusting YOU sad.gif I’m not proud of it… I praise YOU cause YOU alone deserves the highest praise… THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH!!! I DECLARE GOOD THINGS TO COME, PROTECTION & PROSPERITY FOR YOUR KINGDOM’S SAKE & PURPOSE.. FOR EACH AND EVERYONE OF US HERE… LET YOUR MERCY AND LOVE heart.gif ENDURETH FOREVER AND EVER AMEN… I LOVE YOU!!!

Your daughter,

Stellar8

Hello phgirllovesjoe,

I believe I am correct in saying you can not pick a service center that you wish to send it to. You need to send it to the one that processes it for which state he lives in. I believe I just read he is in Alaska.

A. Form I-129F Filing Locations for K-1 Fiancé(e)
If you live in the United States:
File Form I-129F at the service center listed below based on where you live.
If you are filing abroad:
File Form I-129F with the service center listed below based on the last place you lived in the United States.
NOTE: Your petition cannot be adjudicated at a USCIS office abroad.
California Service Center Filings
File Form I-129F with the California Service Center if you live in:
Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, or Wyoming

If Alaska is where he lives than he must send the application to California at this address ....

Mail your Form I-129F package to:
USCIS California Service Center
P.O. Box 10130
Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-0130

Hello,
when i read your message it makes me calm and relax..anyways i will tell my fiance about this also...it really helps me alot..anyways,did you hire a lawyer?
thank you for the info that you give!
have a wonderful day!advance Merry Christmas to you and GOD BLESS YOU!

No we don't use a lawyer. Some people wish to do that and others do not. I just do a lot of reading and rereading.

If you and him go to this link it will tell you everything you need to do for the initial application.

http://www.uscis.gov...I-129Finstr.pdf

Than I use this website to show you what needs to be done for the Phils Embassy.

http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3204.html

Good luck to you both. God bless and Happy Holidays !

Hi,
thank you so much for the reply..hmmm i think its wise to ask his lawyer first w/c service center the lawyer pass our forms and also the link will help me too...so i should try that also for more info..

Hi Welcome to VJ!! kicking.gif

I am pretty sure the Alaska filers will use the Califorina Service Center for filing all K1 applications.

Your lawyer should have been fully aware of this...

Almost any questions you have can be answered but the wonderful folks here at VJ.

Good luck with your journey!

You know...there is a special forum for this type of thing and OT is not it.

This thread would be better suited for K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports (which can be found under the K-1 Forum).

To the OP: You filed your NOA1 in March...so there is a thread already made for you and everyone else to talk who filed in March to VSC...which can be found here: http://www.visajourn...howtopic=183847

And to phgirllovesjoe, who filed NOA1 in April at CSC http://www.visajourn...howtopic=188792

Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you going. That second day is kinda a clusterf**k. Diana got there at 9, and got her vaccines then had to wait for them to call her. There were girls who got there at noon who got called before her and girls who got there at 6AM who were still waiting to be called when she finally got approved and left at 2PM. No real rhyme or reason from what she said. So my advice? Bring a book. no0pb.gif

On to the interview the 2nd!

Glad to have St. Lukes over with!

Hubby posting here...
She started yesterday 8/27 about 7:30am and Zipped through the whole thing, finished at 12:30pm minus the Vaccinations. She returned Today 8/28 at 9:00 am for her vaccinations. Another hour and a half wait, she turned in her passport, and we were out of there with the X-RAY CD for the USA and copy of vaccinations record by 11:30am. A total of 6.5 hours. Not to bad. They wanted to reschedule us next week for the Vaccinations because our interview is not until 22nd but when she told them she's not from Manila they gave her a 9:00am today.

Also they let me stay and wait with her after the Vaccinations.

We were a little concerned because she had a headache and a small cough and we thought that might interfere in some way, but no additional tests required! Thanks to God for getting us through this step.

Bluerose, Forestrose, Ddart and Phgirl thank you! rose.gif I appreciate your encouragement.

To Phgirl, since you have commissioned an immigration lawyer to do the paperwork, I would imagine he would fill those up all for you. Just my thoughts however. For certain, he'd be asking you for the details about you as needed in the forms. Per instructions, you need 2 copies for the 156 and 157 and 1 copy for the 156K. We decided against a lawyer as we found the instructions very easy and we thought further on that the lawyer literally comes to both of us for every bit of information he needs for every paperwork at all times. Hence we decided to save our money smile.gif

Hi BrianandMerne,
thanx for the reply!anyway im glad to hear that at least i'm not gonna be bothered and confused about that forms though..id rather wait and see what will happens,,yeah i have been filling out online with the lawyers forms he send us,maybe that's what the form is for.
WISH YOU LUCK SIS! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif for sure pink yan makuha mo! good.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Hi philgirl... trying to be ready to keep myself from missing something when the time is set. Regarding the DS forms, I filled them all online and printed right after. The 156K is an inclusion for the visa application which is specifically required to be filled out by the fiance/e applicant. What are you confused about? Maybe I can help?

Hi BrianandMerne,
thanx for the fast reply!im confused if do need to make my own copy and do it online,or wait for our lawyer to have it with me..did your lawyer do the DS156,156K AND 157 forms?how many copy each DS FORMS?

Good afternoon to all!

I decided to post here because I know I would get the best answers to a number of questions I have from you, regarding my preparations for interview at the US Consulate in Manila. Thank you in advance for your responses rose.gif

I have already prepared the needed legal papers for identification purpose (NSO certified Birth Certificate, NSO certified Certificate of No Record of Marriage, NBI Clearance specific for travel abroad with a notation "no record on file"), my letter of intent to marry addressed to the US Consulate in Manila this time and Brian will be sending my copy of the I-129F he sent to CSCwith the NOA1, the NOA2 and the NVC letter along with it, his notarized I-134 and the attachments along with it and his letter of intent to marry addressed to the US Consulate in Manila. Naturally I also prepared the proof of an on-going relationship mainly through call logs that we communicate everyday.

Here are my questions:
1. Did I miss anything above?
2. I also accomplished all the DS Forms (156, 156K and 157) already, save for my signature and photos required, IS THIS OK? To prepare ahead? It said they are availed online so I did. I thought I would not wait till interview to do them to save time and keep nerves in check smile.gif

I would appreciate more suggestions on what I should bring to the Consulate. I honestly limited my documents to 3 clear books only. Putting all the legal forms together and the rest of the two are proofs of a bona fide relationship.

Again, thanks in advance! rose.gif Happy Sunday to all!

BrianandMerne,
kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif so your ready now!anyway i just want to ask about that DS FORMS,,im still confused with mine..did you fill it out online and print or can i print it first then fill up the forms?and whats DS156K?
thank you very much!God bless!
