She intends to come in Romania for the New Year and she is trying to find out if will be possible to have the case approved until that time. The answer from them was that the limit is 5 months but for shore can be finished earlier the case in general.

I check almost 2 times/day but lately when I heard that is not 100% updated the website, I stopped doing that. I will ask my wife to call them again after 2 weeks because 2 weeks back she have called them already.

Update from my side:

1) Called USCIS 3 weeks back to expedite our case (I knew they won't, because there is NO expedite criteria. It was just a try!) - Expedite denied.
2) Sent an email last week to my Senator just to enquire the status and any possibility to speed up - This Senator does not handle immigration matter and advised me to talk to Congresswoman.
3) Sent a fax to my Congresswoman last week and they contacted USCIS - USCIS told they don't see any expedite criteria. It will be normal processing of 5 months. Since I have completed only 1 month, I need to wait another 4 more months for approval.

So, I tried all available options knowing that it may not be useful Next option is to wait another 4 months

Police Record
Police certificates are issued by the local police authorities.

Individuals residing in Romania may apply for a police certificate in person in Bucharest at the Inspectoratul General, or at their local police station. Local police stations only issue police certificates for individuals born or residing in their jurisdiction. The processing time for an application is approximately 10 days.

Romanian citizens residing abroad and aliens who lived in Romania for more than a year may apply for a police certificate in one of two ways. They may apply at the Romanian Embassy in the country of their residence by filling out an application form, submitting a copy of the applicant's passport, and paying a 30 USD consular fee. The processing time for this is 30 days. Alternatively, they may sign a power of attorney at the Romanian Embassy for a relative to apply in person on their behalf at the Inspectoratul General al Politiei in Bucharest. If notarized by a notary public in a member country of the Hague Convention on Legalization of Foreign Public Documents, the power of attorney must bear the Hague Convention Apostille.

The Inspectoratul General al Politiei also offers an express service for obtaining police certificates. Cip, You are Romanian citizen. You don't need PCC from Finland since you lived only 10 months there. NVC says, if one has lived for more than 12 months in any other country other than their own country, PCC is needed.

You need PCC from Romania.

Those NOA2 would probably be DCF filers. For them it is like 1 to 2 months deal to approve I-130 at the Consulate abroad. For DCF, petitioner must be the resident in that country for at least 6 months.

I am trying at this moment to putt together the documents for NVC and since I have lived in Helsinki 10 months I must obtain the police record from them

. I just try to see if I can obtain the record by mail. Do you think that must be translated and notarized or is ok in suomi(finland) language? And please be so kind and let me now what other documents I must prepare for NVC, my brother in law will come to Romania in one week and I try to send the papers to my wife true him. We will spare some money with this occasion.

Cip, No news at all We will be hearing something in Nov/Dec/Jan timeframe.

BTW, let me update the status of inquiry here.

. I'm just looking at some other fillers and some of them have their NOA2 between 60-70 days. This means that is some hope for the rest of us. I see the graphic on VJ and seems to me that NOA2 is better an CSC I mean the time until is received. Probably depends of the each country because for my country, Romania, is around 180 days for NOA2 as I see. But we hope to have it sooner :star:

I would love to happen some miracle

Last time our I-130 approved in 3.5 months time when most of the people were waiting for 4 to 6 months average time. This time I am not that optimisitc due to the complexity in our case. I think once Darnell commented out that the background check 'might be' little faster in our case since it has been done in the past. But, I don't know.

Since you have the NOA1 please let me now if you can see your care on the USCIS website. We have been able to see our case only from yesterday for I 130 form, and our NOA1 was from 19.07.For the I 129F form we have seen the case status in the same day on USCIS. Is strange , this is my opinion. Unfortunately we can't find out when is possible to have our NOA2 for I 129F because of the low rate of filling this form and because of the updates from the VSJ users. We just wait to have our NOA2 asap to be together like a normal family

. Hope that latest January the process will be done.

Clay - Thank You for your help. If I understand everything, I need total of Four Copies of DS-230 Packet. One for my record, One for Wife and Two Copies go to NVC, So I can get my Orginal Documents Back when my Wife goes for here Interview. Is my Understanding Correct? Are the Extra Copies Necessary? I thought by default, when my Wife will go for her Interview, all the Documents will be returned?

There is no Need for my Parents Help, since my Gross Income is HIgher then what is needed. And in the Household Size # on I-864, It will be me and my wife. The bolded item was what I was thinking about, but what I read was to submit a copy of everything, not just the civil documents. These will probably suffice.

Good advice Caly, but as far as I now is only copy of civil documents together with original or certified copy. At least is what we did asking other VJ members that have gone true all process.

I have Requested the Tax Return Transcript from the IRS and they should arrive with in 5-10 Days. I just did it online!

Hello there Guys, After checking my case status this morning with USCIS, it was updated on 03/17/2011. As you can see My Sign, you can see when I submited my I-130, hopefully this update means that they will have a decision soon. In the mean time, I have read lots of Guides especially (LingChe NVC Shortcut and James's Shortcuts) and I have made list of what things need to be done. Please look over the list guys and let me know if it is good. Soon I will talk to my wife and get her side of paperwork send to me soon. I&G's response is correct.

Since your BIL lives in separate address, your wife will file I-864 and BIL will file I-864. BIL is going to entirely sponsoring you, without combining your wife's income.

Any sponsor must be domiciled in the U.S and must be at least 18 years of age. That's why a passport, GC, birth certificate or any other document that lists his age and address would be suffice.

If your brother in law lives in the same household as the USC you need to file a I-864A if he lives in another household file a I864. He needs to provide all the same documents as you do on your 864.
He live in Washington and my wife in California

At this moment he is without a job, he take from the state 25000 monthly due to his old job for one year, this means that employment letter is out of discussion, also the 6 months paystubs ?

Also make sure you get a additional original for your records in case theres a problem at the interview. Also I have been reading you should get a copy of his passport bio page to prove citizenship.

I sent my I-130 on 3nd July. I received my NOA1 on 9th July. Is there anyone who filed i-130 on month of July where your case has been forwared to california service center? hello vj i want to tell my experiance about i-130 and i-129f it almost 200 days that i am waiting... in october uscis emailed me says that we have request for evidence for i-129f we recieved the mail...we picked all the documents they need and we sent them (everything was great what they ask for we sent everything)november 12 they updated our status for i-129f its request for evidence response review and in the same day they emailed us and says they sent request for evidence for i-130 we were waiting for i-130 request for evidence.after two days the emailed us and says that our i-130 is request for evidence response reviewit 8 days that that they said they sent request for evidence for i-130 we didnt recieved anything by mail from them...but updated our i-130 request for evidence response review..i dont understand why they updated our papers ..we didnt recieved rfe for i-130 and we didnt send them ...they updated 15 and 16 november now we are just waiting my mind is realy bad i dont know whats going on.with the papers please tell me will i recieve rfe for i-130 or what is going on .do anybody has like this status ....

Since you are a DCF filler my advise is to contact US embassy where you have made the filling of your petitions, to ask them about the RFE. Wish you good luck and a fast approval.

Have you also changed your name(passport,CI, driver's licence)if so, how much did it cost you with the consulate?And how long did it take?
That's my plan B if I can't do it here! The only thing that I don't like about the plan B is the $$$ But it's good to know that it's possible for some extra $$ great timing also!!
In Romania it's about 100 ron to change the passport it takes a couple of days, my CI it's due to expire anyway(takes max 10 days), I don't know how much & how long for the driver's licence...

The driver license you can have it in Romania but not in the same day.The driver license is made since 2008 in Bucharest and sent by mail to you in maximum 10 days.Good luck with that. :thumbs:

. Buy the way since you will leave to your husband soon I don't now if is necessary to change your driver license. You will have the US driver license that is ok to use when you are coming back to visit your relatives.

Why does it seem like mrs.T is arguing with mrs.T here? If there IS a problem changing the name in the Romanian passport then my comment is moot. I said "if there is no problem...." Why not just do the passport name change AFTER you arrive in the USA? The Romanian authorities at the Romanian Embassy or Consulate in the USA will understand what a certified copy of a marriage certificate is and honor your passport name change request.
