I emailed NVC a few weeks after were aproved, got a reply that they didn't have the case, and in the meantime the case must have been on it's way to the Embassy here, cos a few days later i got Packet 3. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Fiance Birth Certificate	we didn't need to send my BC with the I 129F, it was only needed at the embassy interview, but i had to have it translated by a sworn official translator, they were very clear about this, so i'd have it done by a profesional to avoid problems and delays. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Ongoing relationship	I visited my fiance in the US 2 weeks ago, and i'm waaaay into the visa process (have my consulate interview next week!). I thought K1 bells would ring up the second they scanned my passport at POE, but the officer didn't seem aware of anything (unless she was trying to trick me) cos she asked the usual: what's the purpose of your visit, do you know anyone in Portland, etc. I decided to be honest since it's not like i'm doing anything wrong. I explained my fiance lives in the US and i'm visiting him. She asked where are we planning on living eventually and i explained we've applied for a K1 visa and I told her: i'm sure you know how long these take, so in the meantime we have to go back and forth to be able to see each other. She told me she totally understood and wished me luck. that was it. I had brought my consulate interview letter with me, just in case, my reasoning is: why would i go and risk screwing everything up by staying ilegally after all the months, effort and money we have put into this process, specially when i'm so close to my interview? The VJ estimated wait is now bumped up to 172 days... pushing us March filers into September... we hope. Hi there, We have a similar timeline!!! still waiting. The VJ estimation for me is end of Aug...As if!!! BTW i have a question ... in your signature that you have submitted correction with "type error" & "change of address" and both been accepted by Vermont SC. This afternoon I just reviewed my form in PDF and I found out that we made a mistake there!!!! There is a field called When was your finacee last entered the US (only applicable if the beneficiary was INSIDE USA at the time of filing) well we didn't notice the condition, instead we put a date of my last visit there (which was last X-mas for a week) OMG i can't imagine how big or small this could of be. I am afraid you have quite a unique case here.. can't give too much advice, but don't worry, if you're red flagged, then you wouldn't pass NOA2 at all!!! I imagine that means I am inside the States now, but I am not, I am still in Holland and I want to change my Dutch address!! Anyone knows if this is the right form to use? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Any February 2012 filers?	Hey! I was going to suggest the same as Gavin + Heather, not sure which one of them it is!! Find a hobby or something you can get into to distract you. I am in that position. From April to June I was doing some substitute teaching but then it was the holidays so I did not work for 6 weeks. School went back this week so I might get some work but i'm going to just see how things go. Work did help to distract me and take my mind off being apart from Jason and the waiting and I had to find some other way to fill that time. I work out at the gym 6 days a week, 3 with a trainer to keep me motivated. I am a bit obsessive about healthy eating but even sitting planning out meals and what to eat helps. I have also developed a bit of an obsession with jigsaw puzzles!!!!! One thing I read helped me...it said to try not and focus on what you can't effect/change but instead focus on setting/achieving goals that you CAN impact. For me...I can impact my health and fitness and work towards being in the best shape of my life to start the rest of my life Hang in there...you CAN do it and just keep remembering how much stronger your marriage will be after going thru all this time. Our relationships are basically built on trust and communication and strength thru trials which isn't a bad place to start! I think you have a great attitude turning the frustration into the positive energy and focus on becoming more fit and toned I am so gonna go to the gym and start to workout as soon as I finish my work end of this month, been putting on weigh because I sit and work all the time,and i been eating more since I'm so happy do you mind sharing your healthy eating receipt	Qianny Poo	Female	Netherlands	2012-08-17 04:42:00

Welcome to VJ! :-) It's really hard waiting for the NOA2, waiting for NVC to post the petition to the emabassy you'll have the interview at. All you can do is prepare your proof/paper work and get the vaccinations you need before the medical. NVC still haven't received our petition :-( not that I can complain when there's so many others still waiting for NOA2. My advice, when you're stuck at home both here and in the US waiting for things to go through, have a hobby and/or work on you skills or develop new skills so that you are up to speed with things when you do start looking for a job in the US. It's also worth studying the things you'll need to do for AOS so you'll be prepared and ready to go when you're married. Also draw up a list of things to do once in the US, getting a SSN, health insurance, driving licence etc. Thanks for the advice and support, it's very useful I have gathered all information from my side and he is collecting evidence of support.(his mom will mail his IRS tax return) so we are in good shape now. As for how to kill my time during the waiting, I plan to learn how to drive(can you believe i haven't learned ) lol...go to the gym definitely and study for the CFA exam in Dec!! Maybe visit my parents for some weeks (they don't live in Holland).. Yes, the way things are looking if you filed at VSC it could take 10 or 11 months to get everything done and into the country... Sorry to tell you. I'm at almost 6 and a half months with no word. It's extraordinarily depressing. At this point I just want to sit in my bed and cry till something happens, sort of like I'm doing all day so far! This whole process just sucks. On the plus side if you filed at CSC (I didn't look before starting my reply) they are moving super fast and you could be approved any day now. Unfortunately my case is pending with Vermont, 10-11 month... damn it.... Me and my Fiancee met at work, I am a regular employee in a company here in Netherlands and he works in my firm as a US TAX consultant. We felt in love and got engaged this Feb, he asked me to move to US with him because his contract will end in Sep 2012 and he will return to the US. so I decided to quit my job and move to the US, 31st Aug will be my last day at work. We got NOA1 on March 7th, I didn't find this VJ site and I did not know it could take this long for USCIS to process our case. we foolishly thought it would take probably 3 month in total, but it actually is 3 month since NOA2. Now it just seems that I quit my job too early. It is another 3 month ahead even if my NOA2 is approved by Sep. Also I found out that it is not possible to work for the first 3 month since POE because of all the paperworks stuff. So I am looking at at least half year unemployment here..... I don't know how should I feel. My fiancee always comfort me and tell me i have nothing to worry, but i don't want to just sit at home and do nothing, work has been a great distraction so far,don't know how i should cope with it... Also I read it's so hard to find a job in the US right now, right now I can still make contacts with my firm in the US and ask them if there is any openings, but with my visa pending all this long, i couldn't promise when I can start, and they couldn't keep any jobs just for me. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March (2012) filers...	in case you guys are interested, here's the movement ive seen so far: i am watching all the march 12 petitions i could find (plus one from march 14... don't know why that's in there... haha). so: i am monitoring 155 petitions altogether and so far there's been this: april 26: 1 approval may 31: 1 rfe june 28: 1 approval july 2: 1 approval july 10: 1 rfe july 18: 1 rfe august 2: 1 approval august 6: 1 approval aug 14: 2 rfe 1 approval (former rfe: response: july 27th) august 16: 1 approval and one petition was rejected. i'd say the ones from april to july are probably expedites. but it seems like they are getting into march a little!!! (remember: i am only watching march 12!!!!) Hi There, Thanks for sharing - I have the feeling that we are really close to be approved. I run some case # on USCIS website, approx 200-300 numbers backwards from my own case #, my eyes are so tired now I am not sure if i did it right, but what i saw was most of the case # are for"Form I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION", some are "Form I821, APPLICATION FOR TEMPORARY PROTECTED STATUS", i haven't seen ANY i129f petitions, only 5+ I130 petitions. But from some other people I saw that they found 50-100 K1 petitioners for each day, my first thought was WOW!! so many international marriage going on!!! my second thought was did I just not run through enough sample size, maybe I should of done like 1000 numbers backwards??? AOS is taking much longer these days. Hi Evylin, I found your comments really helpful.. Right now I am still waiting for NOA2 but that doesn't stop me for worrying about work once I get there...if I can go to the States and get married within November this year, and follow the processes to apply for AOS/EAD/AP within the right timeline, how fast will I able to commit to a job (let's say i can find one to begin with) So in a word will I be able to start work legitimately in Feb/March 2013? or can I already be employed once i have a SSN, which is just 2 weeks after i enter the US? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	OMG I129F form mistakes!!!!!	Breathe IN....Breathe OUT It shouldn't be an issue. If anything, they'll figure out it was a mistake. An issue on that form would be an unchecked box, incorrect sensitive information (names, DOB, etc). Relax.. Ufff I'm trying to breath now... what a stupid mistake we made. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	OMG I129F form mistakes!!!!!	Well lets not imagine an RFE(request for evidence) if none is asked for. If you do get letter to correct this than do. Have a new I-129F at the ready in case so you can get that baby off ASAP. I would think that they will just assume by what you marked you are now in US. If asked at interview just hand them an updated form. It should be fine either way. Now Breathe Thanks for the reply...I'm less stressed now... Dear VJers, We have been waiting 4 month+ since NOA1,, from the beginning we check the status updates every day, until now once a week,, we are waiting, trying to be patient, and not think about it... This afternoon I was just cleaning up my inbox. 4 month ago I scanned all the application docs to a PDF file as backup. So today I opened it and read through it and I found out that we made a mistake there!!!! There is a field on I129F form, called "she/her last arrived as (visitor, student, etc) in the US (only applicable if the beneficiary is INSIDE USA at the time of filing) well we didn't notice the condition, instead we put a date of my last visit there (which was last X-mas for a week 23-30Dec in Connecticut) And I have been in the Netherlands since New Years Eve 2011. OMG i can't imagine how big or small this issue is. Can you give some advice? is there a way to change this? Does it mean I have to re-submit a petition or can I just make changes on the existing one... or is it worth to change at all??? and moreover, how to request changes made to my application forms?
