you have 2 ways
enter the us every 6 months
or issue something called the white passport that gives you the permit to be absent for 2 years....

Hi Rami, hope u r fine and enjoying your time.

As per your advice about the inquiry email after 60 days; yesterday I have sent an email to the embassy and I was surprised to receive the response on the same day. This is what was received "There are no new updates on status of your case, as soon as we are able to move forward with your case we will contact you immediately."  crying.gif

It seems that will take longer time than expected.

"ma3lesh, sho sar, haboosh zay el nar"

salam

well, this is the most unpredictable stage in your journey... no worries... all what we did was "WHAT WE HAVE TO DO"...

DON'T think that this delay is a negative thing... no, as you know "kol ta2kheera feha kheerah"

here i am, it has been 1.5 month in the usa and i accomplished nothingcrying.gif .... nothing... just waiting... and waiting.... and fasting oops8rh.gif

i am late here, and i am almost lost my job...but hamdilla they understood

loool I liked " don't expect them to call you and say, hey congrats, your AP is over "  I thought they will rofl.gif
Anyway thanks a lot for the valuable information you have provided, and lets arrange to see you when you are back to Kuwait if you don't mind.

of course i don't mind
especially if you have nice coffee there...

Thanks a lot Rami, but is it required to sent an email after 60 days? or its just a reminder?
please update me about the time taken for ur sister AP when its done enshallah. thanks again.

ok. I will keep you updated, while you don't need it, there is one remaining week ahead of you, and more ahead of my sister.

and yes. you have to send an email to them.

don't expect them to call you and say, hey congrats, your AP is over...

prepare an email, full of your case´s details, and send them once a week, and make it on Sunday (I hope you will not need it, but just in case).

just make sure you leave a clear contact number, a mobile or 2, and put the case number in the subject line...

dont forget to wait a bit more than 60 days to do this.... this is very crucial...

best of luck with my compliments...

Hi Rami, hope u'll enjoy ur trip to US and Mabrouk for finishing the AP process. I am Jordanian also working in Kuwait but i have received my application and had my interview in kuwait and I am stuck in the AP process for the last 7 weeks, you know anyone who applied from kuwait and passed the AP process? I want to know the estimated time for that especially I am visiting US next month.

ahlain wa sahlain

yes I know... my brother, my sister... and my friend
my brother took 60 days, passed it after the first inquiry email, just like me...

my sister still in ap but did not complete 60 days, it is impossible before the first 2 months...she is waiting until the 60 days elapsed to send the inquiry email...

my friend still in ap since more than 6 months... but he got some issues... dont worry...

I think u will be fine after 60 days... inshalla khair...

best of luck and best wishes

welcome to America!!!

thank you soooo much

Congratulations :)  I'm very glad that you had a smooth POE experience.

You can try to apply for the Social Security earlier.  They say 10 days because sometimes it takes that long to get the info in the system.  But sometimes they work faster - I have seen some on VJ who applied within a few days of arriving and got it.  The worst that could happen is they say "don't have your info yet, come back later."  Maybe try after a week.

thank you

I went there this morning, they kicked me out.....

then you owe me 10 $ gas

POE review:

Chicago, O'Hare

Excellent

Smooth

5 stars

After reaching counters, my file was put is a pink folder, i was asked to head to exit number 2....

Waited for my turn
There were about five pink files on the line, time of processing each varies according to the number of family members...

I was alone, so mine took less than one minute, including filling a change of address application "to which I want my green card to be sent", as my family moved recently to a new address

Asked again to head to exit number 4...inspection

Then I was out for my next flight...

The most shocking thing..... I was informed that I have to complete 10 full calendar days to be able to apply for the social security number...

Someone on a short vacation like me should be aware of this...extending vacation is too crucial back in the country where I live...so please pay good attention to this

Good luck everyone...

I have lots of pics from jordan, I like photography but I am not a professional
I took pictures from all over the world, sorry from the countries I was able to visit, jordan, kuwait, dubai, saudi arabia, thailand, uk, usa, syria, iraq and egypt's sharm el sheikh.

every country has a different flavor, and people's reactions differ from even one town to another in the same country...

in kuwait, u cant be lost, it is a small country, buildings are different in many ways. citizens' houses are the same, while expats live in apartments in big buildings, and business zones are marked with malls with different shapes and colors, besides I will be here willing to help in case u were lost

please allow me to tell you something
i am originally from Ramalla by the way, from a village called Silwad.
my family is well known of growing high qulaity kinds figs, and dried figs.
ask ur husband, he will confirm.

unfortunately, i have never been there, i lived and studied in Jordan, and working in the gulf...
and it seems that USA is my next stop, so homeless, isn't it? :(

I'm glad you like the pic :) I change it from time to time, but this one just lingers...

Oh, then you are a ways out from the downtown area, maybe 6-7 miles. It's not too far to drive, but way too far to walk and I would not advise taking the bus at night. Most of the hookah places are close to the University, up and down High St. I guess you are looking for some place you could walk to ? That might be a tough one. I used to live out in Beavercreek (it's about an hour's drive west of Columbus, between Xenia and Dayton) and there was almost nothing close enough to walk to. Do you have any plans to get a car ?

We did have an extra car, it was available for me from one time to another, and I did have an international license from Kuwait where I work, and from Jordan where I am originally from, but also yes, I was avoiding to drive a car, cause I am not familiar with the streets over there, and with the fueling and parking means, I was lost many times despite using my phone’s GPS

Mimolicious
I am sure he will get used to it, just learn how to play trix “card game” and make his day

If you're looking for other MENA guys to talk to, you could probably meet lots of them at the local mosque, or check out the local hookah cafes (which are often owned and operated by MENA folks, although their clientele may or may not be.) My husband enjoys going to a hookah place now and then - he'll sit and drink coffee, speak Arabic and socialize with other Arab guys, play cards, etc.

Here are some of the hookah cafes in Columbus:

http://www.yelp.com/...oc=Columbus, OH

It does walla ya sister, it does.
Maybe you are talking about the downtown, I agree though....
But I think my family lives in some distant county from the city center, called new Rome, where going out for a walk after 8 pm is like taking a tour in Raccoon City of Zombies
It was really scary even for men in my age
Something I could not tell to my sister when she used to ask me: why do you come early?...

By the way: VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE PICTURE at your signature

I know in just about any American city doesn't carry on to the same late hours I experienced in Cairo. There the city seemed to be waking up about the time I go to bed.

yes brother.
except in major cities..

lol...you don't like Columbus?

No...
I have been there for 3 times on visits. Life there shuts down at 6 pm, so boring and frustrating, I thought I traveled to Irbid instead :-)
I could not find any human being to even talk to, except my old mother and father, in addition to my sister's beautiful kids, who could not stop beating me up and biting me on all over my arms as part of their entertainment.

is there any post, in this forum or another, were people track their APs, like a schedule or a record?
So we can gather little info from their experiences.
