PhilippinesIntial travel to US from Phils
QUOTE (ssgtam08 @ Jul 24 2008, 04:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ok me and the little lady are having this on going thing about the trip here. Now I have flown to the phils 3 times to see her (the love of my life who I care for deeply and better not be embarrassed by me posting this). She is a little afraid of the flight, even though she has flown in a plane before but I think Manila to Cebu isnt quite the experience one might need for the trip! Anyway she wants me to fly all the way there again to fly with her back. Now I know this would be a nice thing to do and believe me if I had a money tree I would go outside and shake it and be on the first flight there! But well anyway I was just wondering is the flight to the US really that bad for filipinas I mean I have arrived in to Detroit Minneapolis and New York before from there and it really didnt seem to be that bad, same annoying lines and people moving slow either way. Its not a language issue because my fiancees english is amazing!!!! (she makes me say that) She is just more intimidated by the whole thing. My advice to her was just find some other ladies holding the St Lukes X-rays and make friends. Is that good advice really?

it is indeed a good advice.. good.gif
but i must tell you she gotta use to bein independent with some stuff..
like me i travelled alone and it makes me realized and leaned so many things..
like it makes me realized more the difference of our culture and the american culture..
also.. im still learning and battlin with homesickness..
with homesickness.. that's connected to bein independent.. in my opinion.. blush.gif
cos now i battle with homesickness.. like tryin to deal with things on my own with no help from my family..crying.gif
not like back at home that you can easily run into your family then ask or get help..
i know that my SO will always be there for me, like you're gonna be there for her..
but then there are things that are really different from our culture..
and the first thing i learned is you gotta learn to deal with your stuff on your own.. blush.gif
so what im tryin to say is.. it's really different here in the US compared to back at home..
and i think it is best for her to experience it first on her own flight..
and also practically, it's big amount of money to travel to back to the philippines just to accompany her for her flight.. just in my opinion! whistling.gif
i mean u can spend that money and have a very good time with her when she's already there with you..

i hope i dint confuse u guys.. rofl.gif

QUOTE (LostnSpace @ Aug 13 2008, 12:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Now What? Fiancee went back to Embassy for a 9am appointment. She gets out sometime after 3:30pm, after 2 interviews. She does not get a pink or a white slip. They just told her to go home and wait for there decision, which will be in about a week. When I talked to her she sounded thourghly confused but optimistic.

Does anyone have a idea what may be going on? What is the best coarse of action from here? Who do you call to get a update on the case? I wonder if there is something simple that I can help with.

Is this there fraud unit trying to railroad a honest relationship?

im sorry abt the unclear status of your case.. sad.gif
i think for now all you can do is to follow their instructions..
and call them after a week as they said..
ive read a recent thread abt this, like not having pink or white slip..
here's the thread link.. no pink or white slip
maybe you can PM the thread starter and ask abt their situation..
so you'll have an idea at least or compare the case status..
i hope this helps somehow.. goodluck! wink.gif

but the thing is she's been here in the US for just 2 weeks..
what does she know.. being in a foreign country is very hard!
she doesn't know who to trust, where to run and ask for help..
and she doesn't know if these people would believe her or not..
yes.. there are ways and people who can help her but do these people can help her..?
it is not just her body that was ruined.. it's more of dignity..
it's something that would hunt her everyday and every minute of her life..

to the OP:
im soooooooooooooo sorry abt happened to you..
maybe he put chloroform on his handkerchief that made you faint..
you did your best to fight that pig! but it already happened..
all you can do is fight for yourself in a legal way..
they're all right.. seek for help.. yes.gif good.gif
i know that you feel so alone and so afraid right now..
but the thing is we cant help you if you cant help yourself..
nothing can happen if nothing will be done..
be strong, you have to help yourself first for now..
if you really wounded that guy then you really got something to stand for..
call the philippine consulate near your place, so they can give you some advice and counselling..
then i think you have to tell your fiance.. it will hard, but you gotta do what you gotta do!
you have to be strong and prove to him that you're telling the truth..
but this will be a test for him.. if he's gonna stand by your side or what..
if he really loves you, he's gonna help you get through this.. yes.gif

im kinda confused abt this.. who kept the passport? her or USEM?
it is normal, i got that too.. it was for my document verification..
maybe it's just for her document verification too..
it's a good sign if they kept her passport..
visa is pasted/sticked on a page of the passport..
did she receive a pink slip too?
if she dint pay for visa delivery(pink slip)..
and if she's approved and no probs with her DV..
then they'll just asked her to pay her visa on delivery..

I'm also Confused this before but it's a matter of preference anyway. Here's my example say your name is Judy V. Santos then got married to John Smith. As married youre name now is Judy V. Smith the Santos is omitted. In my understanding you only have middle name if you have second name like Judy Ann.Ann is the middle name same as second name and maiden name is not middle name only if you have second name. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
in the philippines, if your name is Judy Ann V. Santos..
Ann is your part of your first name, like kinda second name..
V is the middle name.. (mom's maiden name)
and when u marry John Smith..
you're new name will be Judy Ann S. Smith..
so like S = Santos will be the new middle name (maiden name)..
like V (mom's maiden name) is already omitted..
and when u got a child and you wanna name her Vilma..
her name will be Vilma S. Smith..
S = Santos your maiden last name..
so to cut this short, in the philippines..
we use our mom's maiden last name as our middle name..
i hope that dint confuse you guys.. blush.gif

I have to admit I am worried about this 2nd interview, though am confident 'coz everything that will be asked is about 'our' relationship and as long as it is for real/genuine, nothing should be worried about. Well, we aren't in control of the CO's decision and since we are the one in need of visa approvals all we got to do is say yes and comply! Was now told by my fiance' to stop reading here,LOL if only it will affect me, hehehe, but I told him that every topic here is something to learn from and be able to anticipate for similar circumstances. Pano na kaya yun mga galing sa provinces like me who's from Bicol and with my 2 girls. Huwag naman po.

Philippines2nd interview!
QUOTE (sitkan @ Aug 16 2008, 04:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I think that is like throwing sheep to the wolves.
Seems like most of the admin reviews are coming from one or two COs and the cos dont have the tact to realize that some of the filipina nature/culture makes some of them quite docile and when confronted with very personal questions .....the cos do not get fast snappy answers they are looking for.
Then the co gets suspicious, and does not realize that they are talking to a very nice gentile woman with a good morale code. Then they start drilling them with the questions that should not have any bearing on the pass or no pass of the interview. My fiancee was drilled about why if she was a good girl that we have a picture together in the hotel room on the bed. What was she doing in the private room with me? Why were we in the bed together? Even though we both had all of our cloths on, and you have to think ... someone took the picture. They are so busy drilling the lady that she does not even have a fair chance to explain. So the COs are just pushing perfectly inocent people in a corner then causing lots of undo stress.
Yes there job is to weed out the bad people, but they are trying to deny perfectly good relationships, not to mention wonderful people that will support our social system of family. I am throughly convienced that my wife to be is so much better mentaly and emotionaly than any woman I could fing reasonabley in my community, and I am sure that many of you hold the same values.

im sooo sorry to hear that your wife was grilled during her interview..
i think there's an explanation why people are having 2nd interviews, we just know yet..
