Also if you're a decent designer, go here: http://www.bravenet....bal/careers.php

I work in online marketing and we hire designers every week for odd jobs. Perhaps it's a personal thing. We have no problem finding quality work at great prices (where I know they make decent money from us, I know what a good designer is all about)

CanadaNetworking
Networking starts with hobbies. Having something to do like Kickboxing, cake decorating or any other hobby you are interested in surrounds you in like-minded people who enjoy the same things. From there conversations and friendships start.

I love to hike and scuba dive, so I am a member of forums related to these activities and I meet with groups and take part in group activities. Then we keep up with each other on the forums. Professional networking is different and more formal and rarely lead to friendships. Just service swap relationships.

PS. The Island / Mainland trip is long, expensive and hard to do on a regular basis. So I hear you there. smile.gif (Lived in Parksville for 19 years)

CanadaRemoval of Conditions Approved
Well the good news is my ROC was approved. It took about 4 months longer than most others, and while some december/january filers got their approval letters I sat like a lonely October go-er with no news.

My congressman wrote a letter on my behalf to USCIS, and 2 days after USCIS received the letter, my case was approved. Thank you 48th district John Campbell for your assistance.

That being said, my Visa/Immigration journey is not yet complete. I will be filing my N-400 in October. So you haven't gotten rid of me!

Simple question that requires about a 9 word response: Why are you here?

CanadaMy Apologies
That's the thing, you're not debating either. There's nothing TO debate. It's either A) You don't see the connection to a maple leaf and a swastica, or B) You do see a connection

There isn't a ton to discuss. Myself I don't like being compared to a Nazi. My wife is jewish, it hits a nerve.

You're not debating, you're trolling.

He also believes we are all missing his point, and that we don't "get him"... his soon to be wife agrees with him, so why can't we? He believes that since we do not see his point that we must have our heads up our a$$es.

Little does he know, he is everything he complains about.

Ya we just don't get his sarcastic delivery.

Good thing his wife does.

CanadaMy Apologies
Cliff Notes: Angry American tries to annoy a forum full of Canadians. Canadians say "Hey, we're just full of pride." American begins ranting and trolling saying that means we are all ignorant and George W Bush supporters.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

It's cool, you're a troll. Every forum has some bored people in it that have nothing better to do than annoy people. You're ours. No hard feelings at all - I feel sorry for you if anything.

CanadaCDN Passport photos in the USA
SEARS! They were trained to do it. However Walgreens has machines in most locations now where you can select the country you want the passport photo done in. Canada, US, UK and a few others are there - so it basically leaves the dumbo taking the picture with few ways to mess it up.

CanadaThe Vent - Part Trois
I have aphephobia. That being said people have to be told not to get too close to me. I have a LARGE personal space bubble and I like my privacy. I can only be touched when I am in an environment that I KNOW will involve it. So standing in a mall and having a stranger touch my hand will cause a panic attack.

The only time I like being touched is when USCIS does it. I love it when they touch me and my files. It's erotic and relaxing at the same time. Why, oh why USCIS do you not touch me more?

Please touch me.

CanadaWeight loss support
I weighed in at 380lb about 7 years ago. I lost 180lb in about a year and a half. I've managed to keep it all off but I go up and down from 205-245 it seems. Right now I am in the middle at 225-230 and I have been sitting here for awhile. I lost 20lb from August to November, so that helps.

I want to lose another 20 over the next while. But my main goal is being healthy and being able to go on my hikes, kayak and scuba dive with no issues. I don't need to be in Marine combat shape but I am tired of being out of shape.

CanadaThere's something weird about the flu shot.
Okay I am about to bring one of my weirdest paranoias public. I have a fear of the flu shot.

I have reason to believe there is something fishy going on:
1) Anyone I have spoken to tells me that after they get the shot they get sick. Isn't this supposed to stop the flu?
2) It's super cheap and made easily available to the very young and very old
3) You can't take it if you have certain allergies

I don't know who is standing to profit, and why the government is pushing it but to be perfectly honest I just think there is something weird about flu shots. I will one day get to the bottom of it, but for now I pose to you a question: WHY does everyone push it so hard? Who benefits and why/how?

No one in this world does something for nothing. Even those who do it out of the kindness of their heart usually feed on ego or knowing they are helping, which you could say is getting something in return.

Thoughts?

It's the 4th, and most of the October filers in CSC are done for my month - but I am still here waiting despite bio being done before anyone.

Last time I was in this process I got held up at the FBI namecheck phase forever. Should I infopass to see if that has cleared for my own sanity or let this ride?
Many others that applied after me (October filers) have been approved and they had their bio 3 weeks after me.

I sent in scans of both passports with recent stamps. I got a stamp for my wife entering Canada. The border agent didn't understand why we wanted it.. I said as a souvenir but it serves as more entry proof of trips etc.

haha Well that is one thing that is not included in my folder and thats why I chose to give a lot of evidence. Jared and I, I'm sure, have photos somewhere. But we are not photo people so I'm not even sure how many we have. Plus, I could take pictures of us from 5 years ago and put them in there...and they wouldn't be able to tell.

This is going to be a problem for Sara and I. We are NOT photo people. We don't like pictures... so we don't have a lot. We go many places together and have a scrap book of tickets and events but we don't take photos at them.
