K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	cr1 why k1	I have read some and talk many people and no one has answered this why Is the k3/cr1 visa takes so much longer? then a k1 also has anyone used the poe in houston bush airport if so how was it to get thru customs/ins CR1 is an immigrant visa, which allows person to get a green card/ssn upon arrival. It involves additional steps as this is an immigration process, unlike K-1 which is considered non-immigrant visa, and you have to file for AOS/Employment etc... Usually most of the airports takes about 1.5-2 hours some people get lucky and go faster, only took me 30 minutes. It is all depends how busy the custom is and what kind of agent you will get to. Actually, Ukraine government does not recognize church wedding as a legal marriage if you didn't do it in ZAGS (wedding office). So you can get church wedding and it's not going to be reported anywhere but for you two and God. BUT!... To get divorce at this point you will have to petition to main church with very strong reasons and wait very long time Not sure how long it take to get a church divorce in Ukraine. But in US it is $500 and only couple month of waiting, depend on when the next church court is. Usually held 4 times a year. I wouldn't say very strong reasons required, while mine were strong from the first wedding they never asked for any evidence. I think it is just one more way to make money. They have an issue with not orthodox, but some churches do that without civil wedding I was planning to do a church wedding during K-1 Visa Process, but because of all this possible issues I decided to hold off on that. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	aos packet and form I-693	I'm kind of lost here the aos packet states that another medical isn't required if the k1 beneficiary arrived with-in the last 12 months, but then it goes on to state form I693 is required. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Problems with money and education	Please fill in the timeline it will allow better to understand the situation. Several things to consider while you can delay, note that your NOA2 (which is an approval for the fiancee visa) expires 4 months after the approval date. If you are trying to delay it that late, you will need to contact embassy to try to extend it. It is up to the CO discretion to do it. If you are planning to move to US, why would you worry about finding a job now, just try to ask your fiancee to help you. It doesn't seems like a lot of money, comparing what you will have to spend during AOS, and plane tickets. I would recommend avoiding delays if possible. Then they can go back to the same country together being married? Is that how it works? Is this the quickest way to be together with the fiance? Well you can go and just marry the person. But you can't go back right away with your wife, there are processes to follow. Actually it a little bit longer than fiancee route. For example my fiancee route took 5.5 month from submission to visa approval, while marrying and then applying could take around 10 month. While you can apply for EAD before marriage it will expire on the date your I-94 is expiring and I am doubt you will even get it before that. The best approach get married and apply for AOS with EAD. While there is a waiver available, it is usually not approved. So just meet before you start the process, as you will get rejected. I understand that you want to file ASAP, but jsut a not that Ghana consulate is one of the hardest consulates to go thru, and you will need a lot of proof to shot the bonafide relationship. Meeting only one time before filing would be a huge red flag, I would say at least 2-3 times. Hopefully other Ghana members can add more info to it. You have to understand the distinction between fiancee and spousal visa. If you are planning to married before filing, then you have to go the spousal visa which is CR1, if you are planning to go using fiancee visa then you can't get married, and have to married only after coming to the US. If you are planning to come on visitor visa get married and then go back to Ghana and wait for the process, then it is totally fine. You can always try to do an expedite based on the medical condition. Just make sure to get the letter from the doctor in writing explaining this conditions. Also not that if granted at USCIS, you will have to request a separate one in NVC and embassy, as they don't get transferred over. Then another one when I click continue it says "the page you're trying to view cannot be shown because an error in data transmission has been detected. Did anyone else encounter this problem? Alla uses only her green card and I use an enhanced drivers license, I have used a passport at times but never got a stamp on entering Canda or on entering USA from Canada. I go to Canada 2-3 times per week. Alla is going to get an EDL as soon as she takes the oath (12 days) so she does not need to carry her passport. I think they will stamp your passport if you ask them to. Do you have an older passport without a bar code? The newer ones they just "swipe" in the machine and it electronically "stamps" you. They KNOW when you have been there and back. Gary, I am usually flying to Canada so in the airport I got stamped everytime. When I cross the border driving I haven't got stamped. I guess it is only for flying. Actually I have a new passport. I guess leaving near canadian border helps just to drive and not worry about flying, where you are required to have a passport. We did not have any hotel receipts and for Canadians travelling to and from the US they do not stamp your passport. As long as they can establish that you two have met you should have no problems. Just put the dates you visited each other with appropriate evidence. No need for a story, they will not read it anyway. Now I'm reading that it take 3 months for the mail package to get to China and then another 2 months to schedule her interview. Is this true? Thanks There is no really easy way to say how long will it take. Usually it takes between 6-8 month from filing to K-1. Assuming you have no RFE or any otehr issues. Some get it faster some slower.
