I wanted to let everyone know things are clipping along at a good rate now.... Alexandra's interview is set for 1/28. She received her packet instructions yesterday but we had already faxed everything they needed and I called today and they had set the earliest appointment. kicking.gif

No wedding rings yet...Alexandra has been cautiously wearing her solitaire engagement ring(not a good thing to wear in the street in Colombia) it is white gold. I personally don't care what my band looks like, the simpler the better, but thanks to suggestions here will need something wide enough to engrave. Koakland I can't see the pic of your ring either.

I have been working dilligently on everything needed after NOA2 received. I went to the WIKI and have found lots of shortcuts and help..maybe you already know this but there is alot of current and useful info. NVC still has not received my package so I do not have a case number. Timing becomes real important it appears at this phase. It may differ from embassy to embassy. And I know in Colombia it will be difficult to find find vaccination records, porr Alexandra I feel will be a pincushion.

WoW awesome gave me goosebumps literally. We are going to go with white gold to match her solitaire. I dont want anything fancy but I totally think the engraving you had done was totally cool....now I am thinking of something like that. Maybe Alexandra can give me a similar type of message in Spanish that we can have engraved.

My I-134 packet arrived in Colombia quickly much to my shock. The timing was excellent considering what I feared is inevitable, I am closing the doors to my business. I was able to send almost all of the money she will need for visa, lab & medical and her mutliple 8 hour bus rides to Bogota. Now I know I do not have the means to go with her for her interview, a last minute round trip flight is expensive and I still have to pay for her last minute one-way ticket. She has her engagement ring but she will have to expect a modest wedding putting it lightly. She is not pretentious at all and appreciates even the littlest things I do and I know the most important thing is to be together but I really wanted to give her a decent wedding since it is her first. Another Thanksgiving at Boston Market alone gave me way too many things to think about. I know you are thinking what have I to complain about NOA2 boy but as much of a relief as it is the other worries are bigger. Good news is I finished my resume, bad news is I need to get it noticed as everyone's desk is full of people out of work. I hope the Service Centers are NOA2 cranking machines in the upcoming week. Fortunately I began preparing her paperwork for her a while ago and almost have it finished, what a pain that is. I am with Aubrey, if you have any paperwork to prepare begin now. Just checking in to see how all is going.

Things appear to be moving...it is a positive thing. I think of my fiance being alone for her 3rd year of holidays and it is tough. Of course saying "We will have many more together" doesn't seem to cut it. All of the timelines are relatively close to each other now. This waiting makes it difficult to not think the worst, like RFE's etc... but maybe VSC will punch out a few more approvals before Thanksgiving. Congrats to all approved I am excited for everyone. dancin5hr.gif

As you know I have been preparing my I-134 docs to get them to Colombia quickly. I did email the embassy and ask about check stubs etc... their response to me was it if isn't on the instructions(the I-134 formal instructions) don't send it, but it is fine to send it now there is no need to wait. Wish me luck on it arriving...

For 2 1/2 years now I have been using a company to arrange deliveries of flowers, cakes, and window serenades and such for my fiance, I called and also ask them about their experience with the K-1 process, it appears they assist(for a fee)in preparing K-1 packets. They told me in my I-134 package I send to include, letter from my bank, letter from my business partner, 4 months of bank statements and 3 years of tax transcripts and another lettter of intent. This could apply only for the embassy in Bogota I don't know.

I made photo copies of everything I sent in my original packet and will send a copy of everything I originally sent along with my I-134 paperwork. But if USCIS isn't sending all of that stuff to the embassy, then what is in the packet? I can't understand why it would be necessary to replicate the paperwork and add more for the embassy to fish through. I would think you would want the interview to be quick and not muddy the waters too much. To simplify it I will probably use 2 envelopes and label one I-134 and the other duplicate copy of original packet. My fiance will bring more hard proof of relationship with her such as Western Union receipts, things she has that weren't originally included in my packet to Vermont.

Now where in the hell is the approval? wacko.gif

Thanks for your well wishes and prayers....

I have 3 years of tax transcripts, the letter from my bank is no problem(if I get it now), bank statements 4months, letter from my business partner, I wonder if they even need check stubs? Also, I like the idea of preparing it now. Quite frankly, I am scared of the international shipping. I would feel more comfortable sending it now(for the financial reason) as well as the time. I once used USPS to send a cell phone and some goodies and I kid you not it took almost 5 weeks to arrive, I can't afford the time for that so I guess Fedex is the answer. I would take the packet obviously if i can attend the interview, but for obvious reasons, one spur of the moment plane ticket is about all I want to afford. Now i feel in disarray and damn I was so organized when I sent the first packet in. Ok.....exhale unsure.gif

I have really have some dilemmas. First it is very difficult , as it is for all, to keep my fiance upbeat. She is really having struggles understanding the system and obviously doesn't want to spend another day alone. Our relationship has been 2 1/2 years and in hindsight I should have moved quicker. I understand our redtape processes as I have lived in the states my whole life. I think with the holidays approaching in a month and a half it is that much more difficult. The other issue is my business, I am in the title industry and we all know about the mortgage crisis. I worry every 2 weeks if I can make payroll or not. I obviously have had a stable check for 5 years and my 3 years worth of sweet IRS returns. But I am hoping I can hold out until she gets an interview date so I can send my financial package. It would be horrible to go through this and at the last moment not be able to show the income to support. Everyday it makes me sick to feel this pressure. Our job market is not very stable, that was an understatement. So immediately finding work in the 11th hour could be difficult. Has anyone thought of what happens if in the final days they can't show the income? Man, my stomach is in knots. ClockWatch2.gif

If nothing else everyone has one thing in common, waiting to bring someone to OUR country and marry them as quickly as possible. As VJ is a place to share your emotions, it is a place to share opinions as well. We all wished the system moved quicker. It would probably be very interesting to see how fast this process was pre Sept. 11th 2001, as sometime after that all of our countries security systems changed. It is easy to be angry at waiting but out of all of the countries represented here, I am only guessing, none have the volume of people wanting to come to their countries as we do. I love Colombia, but there are a couple of reasons I wouldn't want to marry there, live there and so on, we all have our reasons we chose this path as opposed to being married in their country, and living in their country, which I gather would be much quicker(?). I am thankful for our system but from the outside looking in it appears it could be managed better that is for sure. I know the feeling of standing at the airport in Colombia, a foreign country to me, waiting in line, saying goodbye and having my fiance say don't cry, the only time to cry is if you were never going to see me again. I have visited and been through that 5 times since mid August 2006. The thing that amazes me the most is when you visit the USCIS web site, and it shows their processing dates, and all of the different types of visas and sub categories under those types, it is mindblowing. Emotionally, this is a long terrble wait and a real rollercoaster. To step aside from emotions, it is a major feat to accomplish the never ending task of processing and maintaining security. My point is, emotional flare ups are already happening here basically one month post NOA1, it is only going to get worse as we wait longer. Everyone must respect the fact the everyone handles this stress differently. Respect Off-Topic2.gif

Your right...I did not realize that this website is very useful to people who have no clue as to what happens next or what to do. I was talking out of text because I have dealt with INS now USCIS more times than I care to remember since 01.. I will heed my own advice . If it make them feel better to vent things that have no association to the Visa Journey as it is called then who am I to comment..I just returned from Bogota a few days ago and was treated like a criminal at the airport for making 3 short trips to Colombia inside of 9 months. I doubt that anybody cares about that. It has nothing to do with getting my petition approved...........I'll be happy when all this is over..It is so different now than it was in 2001+2002.. This Imbra thing is what I dislike the most because I have 3 convictions for the white stuff..They never asked this on the old petitions and I am worrying about how they will approach this even though they are 20 years old and I provided all the required ORIGINAL certified court records..This issue plus the extended wait times other than what I am use to is really getting to me................

I can understand your fear of how IMBRA will affect you. Have you found any similar situations here in any threads? Also, was it for 3 seperate convictions or were the 3 all related to one case? I think they make a distinction between that. I am assuming your issues dealing with the airport were on the US side because my bags, carryon or checked, are always searched leaving Colombia. In 6 visits to Colombia I have dealt with questions and searches on 2 occasions upon entering the US.

I was working on petitions way before VJ was here.. I did 3 of them of different types but with VSC.. Also I helped a few friends with theirs back in 2001+2002... I can't believe what ####### people talk about on this website...Everything and anything including getting a puppy on the plane and we want the visa quick to do this so it doesn't have to ride in cargo..#######?...... I remember asking you a few questions last month because I am too busy to become familiar with everything about the works of this website..Do not tell me to calm down because I am calm .. You know nothing about me ..Also I am not your bro... We don't ride together... You have me mistaken with somebody else.. Don't like what you read here? then don't comment.. You started your own thread. November VSC...It is obvious that I am not saying anything to offend anyone here or the moderators would have stepped in by now.. I am not here to play games.. VSC is pissing me off as this is my 4th. time dealing with these people..And I paid so much less back then and got so much more from them at the time..So I see things differently than you do...This is not my 1st time dealing with what use to be the INS...... This website represents only a percentage of people..Not everybody that files knows about VJ.................... How many thousands of other people are also in this and not counted because they do not use VJ.? Did you ever give that any thought?

PanamaJack,

With your claimed vast wealth of knowledge in visa world people could gain a lot from your experience, however your presentation skills rival Attila the Hun. This forum is used for many different reasons, whether insignificant to you if "Fluffy"rides in cargo it is obviously important to someone else. You are too busy to learn the inner workings of the website however you read posts that you feel are "#######". I read your post, it was my option, just as it is your option to not read any post you deem "#######". The only other comment I have is in reference to the fact that not all of the visa filers do belong to VJ. While this is true, the numbers at VJ represent a large enough pool to allow viable averages, and probabilities.

To everyone else,

Good luck with your visa journey...there appears to be no rhyme or reason to this process. I can remember the pendulem swung from VSC being quicker to CSC then back to VSC. The forum is very useful in answering questions and assisting you with next steps, it is a valuable tool, learn from others experiences, use the search feature.

Take Care

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresConviction Help
Regarding the 3 conviction question...obviously I want to be upfront on the form and I am the USC preparing to file for my fiance's I-192F. Back in 1982 I was involved in a case, one of my roomates was selling drugs. He was charged and convicted with a felony of trafficking. I never had anything to do with his operation, a confidential informant made many buys from him. I was also arrested and convicted, but I cannot exactly remember what the charge was, it was a misdemeanor. I have tried to reflect and I cannot remember the terminology of the conviction but I think it was I because I lived there and allowed it to happen in the house. So I called the clerk of the courts for that county to see if the charge mentioned drugs and if so I would request certified copies of the case. He searched 4 databases and said according to records I do not exist and there is no record of anything except a record of me having a drivers license. I pushed him and he gave me 45 minutes of his time and drilled down deeper in his search. Checked variations in name spelling etc...but nothing came up either under my name or social. He said their records go back much further than that and I suggested something on microfiche per chance and he said if it is not showing it won't be there. To boot i moved very soon after 1982 and had learned my attorney committed suicide(no info to obtain there). I know the box must be checked if you have 3 things substance related and in addition I did have a DUI 24 years ago as well as a seperate paraphenalia charge. Thank god I got my stuff together now...tough youth!! My dilemma is I want to be truthful, but my memory of the details are sketchy at best and I don't want to appear evasive if I attach a sheet to explain without supplying the proper documentation. Plus I am not sure that there was anything related to drugs in the dispositon which would mean I would have only 2 convictions and no need to report it. It obviously is impossible to get a certified copy or any copy of the disposition for that matter because there is nothing there. Help!!! Any ideas? As I said I want to be forthright. I realize the chances are slim for denial because of this issue and the DUI 25 years or so ago. I just want to be honest and give them precise info. If nothing else I can tell them where to search and I can obtain the dispostions for the other cases. I just don't want them to think I am trying to hide anything. My fiance knows about them so it is not like she will be blindsided at the interview, which I understand is alot if the reason they want the information so that she is aware. I have called 3 different PI's to see if he can get the information because if the disposition was not an "actual" drug charge then there would not be 3 convictions for substance related charges. 1 said he couldn't help help, another said it would be $250.00 to see if he could find anything out and another said check the "NO" box because if the clerk cant access they cant either(I dont believe this). Long winded I know but geesh I wanted spell it out to solicit ideas.
