You may also print out your medical and interview schedule from the website and show that to the guard.

For contents of packet 4, you can always download all of them from uling's signature. Receiving packet 4 is not really a big deal since there are other ways to get them.

Ya I got the forms, it's the interview letter that we will be missing if we don't get the packet. I'll make sure we have the NOA2 and website print out.

gary, the day before she did receive a text from Delbros saying it would be delivered in next 7 days. no specific time. she was having it delivered to her work place. since she isn't always in the office, she did write a letter of authorization so an office mate could take delivery. she gave her an ID when she went out of the office. the visa did arrive the day after receiving the text. she was about to go out, so had given her friend the ID. then Delbros arrived. in the excitement she forgot she had given her friend the ID and was frantically looking for it till her friend brought it to her.
one litttle last bit of excitement for her, to bring this process to an end.

Is the ID you leave an original or copy? Obviously fiance won't have her passport then, but she could leave a copy of that, or her NBI clearacne, or something.

Looks like 7 calender days, and 5 business days.

Was your fiancee there to receive it in person or did you leave authorization and ID with someone else?
Do they txt msg you the day before delivery?

Our interview is Feb 13 and we're still waiting for the packet (in Cagayan de Oro). We could have a problem because we plan to do the medical the week of Jan 8 and we need the interview letter.

you can have an early medical even without the appointment letter. bring a copy of you I129-F NOA2 (showing your petition has been approved)...call ahead the local numbers @ USE and St. Lukes and to let them know you're picking up a copy of the packet since you haven't received it yet. anyway, you still have about 3 weeks to wait for the packet.

congrats to those with upcoming interviews! good luck all y'all!

Thanks. Does anyone know how much time they need to get a packet over to St. Lukes? :help:

Thank you! A quick question for anyone - the St. Luke's appt. time is set at 12am....is that correct???

I suspect they mean 12 noon. I think they open at 6AM or 7AM and people are in line already.
I don't think they are really suggesting that you get in line at midnite, though I'm sure you could if you like and I think you would be #1 in line!!! :D

Ok, so now I am confused. You need to bring the appointment letter and a copy? I thought that if you didn't get the packet 4 you could pick it up at St.Lukes. How can you do that if you didn't get the appointment letter in the first place?

i called saint luke's and told them that i will pick up my packet. at that time, the waiting was just driving me crazy so i decided not to wait for the packet. if you are just going to pick up the packet, the guards at St. Luke's will let you in. you just need to show a valid ID. but, if you're there for your medical, they will not let you in without the appointment letter.

hey sillygirl...where can we pick up our packet St Lukes or U.S. emabssy?

Thanks

Cel

Along the same lines as that question, if the packet does not arrive at the home address, how do we request it to be picked up at St. Lukes? Do we call the Embassy IVU or do we call St. Lukes, and how much time dot they need to send it?
garya505Not TellingPhilippines2006-12-18 17:35:00

So if you tell the guard you are at St. Lukes to pick up the packet, how does he know you are not really there to take the medical exam? Can't you pick up the packet the same day you take the medical exam?

actually you can have your medical the same day you pick up your packet. when i picked up my packet, the nurse asked me if i wanted to have my medical exam that day. but since it was too early to get my medical done (the nurse's advice was to wait until one month before my interview), i declined.

then again, if you want to have your medical the same day you pick up your packet, you have to go back to the guard and ask for the forms that needs to be filled up. when you go back to them, they'll ask to see your appointment letter and they'll ask for a photocopy.

So if you picked up the packet then you would have to go somewhere to make a copy? Is there an office services place near St. Lukes where you can find a copy machine?

Whats the difference bet PRISM and CFO?
where should we go 1st? what are the requirements?
do we still need to bring photos, forms, emails, chats, etc?

any tips like taking vitamins and supplements?
I have a chest xray that was taken when i had a check up for my cough 6 months ago, should i show it to them?
I have had vaccinations for Hepa B, and cholesterol and sugar counts etc, should i also show these to them?
Requirements to be brought for the medical? how many 2x2 pictures, forms etc? will they need my fiance's documents like affidavit of support, pay stubs and the like?

Thank you very much guys. VJ'ers have been great help for us on this process.

Hi garya505,

Trying to reconcile conflicting info on number of passport photos needed at the medical exam...

It seems they take one photo to put on the form one fills up on the first day (thus, the info given to you when you called St. Luke's).
Then, they take another 2 when the medical report is to be released to the Embassy on the second day.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, please?

Gen

OK good, I think we're getting somewhere on this one. St. Luke's requires 3 passport-size (2x2) photos. I wonder why some people are reporting that 7 are required?

So, how many passport-size (2x2) photos do we need at interview then? The Embassy packet 4 info says 2 are required so we should be safe if we have 4.

I'm about to tell my fiancee she needs more passport photos and I'd like to only do this one more time!

I think I"ll tell her to just get 8 then she will only have to do this one more time. I'm assuming the photos all have to be the same.

Where can we get the REAL requirements for CFO, Medical Exam, and Interview? Please don't list a another experience, I'm getting dizzy reading them and trying to figure out which is right.

LOL. The REAL requirements are probably found by clicking on the links in Uling's signature for the government agency web sites and determine the requirements as they apply to you. That's what I did, and then read the experiences to see if they matched-up with what I understood after reading the mumbo-jumbo on the web pages. But then I'm on AR, so maybe me and the three other lawyers that went over our application don't know squat.

Well, if you read sillygirl's account she says you need your Appointment Letter (original and copies) and 3 passport-sized (2x2) photos , but when I called St. Luke's last week to check on available dates they told me to just bring the passport and one 2x2 photo. I've seen other accounts stating that you need 7 passport-sized (2x2) photos at St. Luke's.

Yes, I forgot to include bring with you your original Appointment letter and a photocopy of it- the guard will not let you go inside until you have the photocopy. I had my medical last Thursday -December 14, 2006. So far I brought with me 8..it doesn't hurt if you bring more than what's needed. If your fiance doesn't have any vaccination history or any medical reports that's fine and even if she does have those and didn't bring it with her it's still A-ok!!! It's recommended though that if she has vaccination history so that she will not have the shots anymore... just like the girl that's with me during the medical she brought her vaccination history, after the medical procedures and interview she just waited for her medical result on the ground floor, she did not wait for another hour or so for her name to be called for the vaccination.

They needed 8 passport-sized (2x2) photos at the medical exam?

OK, I'm taking a stab at putting together a "guide" for the Manila CFO seminar. Here's my first cut. Keep in mind that the "To Bring" list is not the minimum requirement, rather more like the worst case (be prepared). Does anybody have any input? I'm still trying to figure out the location is the seminar, the CFO web site gives 3 locations with maps, CFO, SMEF-COW, and PRISM. Which one it is?

CFO Guidance and Couseling Session
(This is done by SMEF-COW or PRISM)
http://www.cfo.gov.ph/fs_manila.htm

To bring:
· Money for fee, 500PHP (for Certificate of Attendance).
· 2 Photo IDs (this requirement is from the CFO web site).
· Passport original (if available) and 1 copy (they might keep the copy).
· NBI Clearance original and 1 copy (they might take the copy).
· Birth Certifcate original and 1 copy (they might take the copy).
· VISA is NOT required to attend seminar. If you don’t have it then tell them you don’t have your VISA yet.
· Know this information for forms:
o Fiance nationality (US)
o Fiance phone numbers
home:
cell:
work:
o Fiance job title and type of job.

Notes:
· This counseling may involve some scare tactics so be prepared for that.
· Sessions for US travelers are at 10:00AM, 1:30PM and 3:30PM.
· Requirements don’t seem to be consistant so bring everything that might be needed!
· If packet did not arrive it can be sent to St. Lukes.
· They will NOT keep your passport at the CFO seminar (you will need it at St. Lukes).
· Make sure you get your Certificate of Attendance before you leave. You will need this to get your VISA stamp later.
· The seminar and stamp may be given at two different locations. ???

Questions:
· Is a passport 2x2 photo needed?
· Is passport required for seminar if you bring 2 valid photo IDs?
· Can the petitioner attend?

Look up Sillygirl and Uling's signatures. Both have links to their experiences at the CFO, St Lukes and Interview. What date are you going. My fiancee finishes up her semester this week. Ken & Maria

Be careful when reading the experiences. The problem with these experiences is that they all state different requirements. For example, for the ST. Lukes Medical Exam you can read them and find people saying you need different numbers of 2x2 photos, anywhere from 1 to 7. On the phone the St. Lukes person told me all you need is passport and one 2x2 photo, but I doubt that is right. Some people say you need copies of the DS156 and other VISA forms, some say you don't. I'm trying to get everything ready for the medical and I have no idea what the real requirements are.

This is driving me nuts!

I bought a PIN last night for the $18. I did get a live person but she wasn't very helpful. I asked her when I might expect to hear when I might know when our interview was and it was like I was speaking a foreign language to her. I must have asked at least 3 different ways and all she could keep saying was, it might take as long as 180 days. I'm so depressed.

Birdsboy there's no reason for you to get depressed. Anytime anyone speaks to the USE and asks about time frames they WILL ALWAYS give worst case scenario. We haven't had anyone here on VJ (in my time here anyway) that I have seen who had to wait anywhere near 180 days for an interview. From all the recent activity for people Manila received in Oct. getting their interviews you can't be far behind. ;)

Ya, the truth is they don't know, and they have been told to say 150 days or 180 days so that's what they say. They really don't have a clue. You can find out more and make a better prediction reading this forum. We all know it's more like 120 days from the time they received it at the embassy.

If yes, how should I do it, should I call Saint Luke's? And what are the documents that I should bring with me? Hope someone can shed some light on this matter. Thanks in advance!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Hi!

Yup, the medical examination can be done earlier.. in fact, I read some posts encouraging it to be done a month earlier than interview date, something about the effectivity of one of the vaccines ( thanks gary505). You can go to St. Luke's with your appointment letter (original and photocopy)... or if you're picking up your packet that day (see my post for Sway a few posts up), I understand you just have to present a valid ID to the guard and tell him you're picking up your packet. No need to call to schedule medical appointment.

And thanks to sillygirl for this info: http://www.raymonddo...isa/medical.pdf
It is a very comprehensive account of her medical exam experience.

:)
Gen

And don't forget your RP passport and VISA photos, as a minimum. The issue with the vaccines is the MMR, if you have a possibility of getting pregnant right away, you need to wait 28 days after the MMR vaccine to, well, you know ...

Madison did not post misleading information. He only informed us that his fiance waited until after visa was issued. CFO needs to see the visa before they actually stamp the passport. No visa, no stamp. You can go to the seminar ahead of the visa but you still have to wait for visa to be issued to get the CFO stamp.

Actually Madison Man did post misleading information. The original question was regarding attending the CFO, not getting the stamp:

Anyway I have a question, I am planning on attending the CFO guidance and counseling as soon as I can. Do you think this is possible? What can I do? GEEZZ Im so lost! Shaking! and uuhhhh....

The answer from Madison Man was:

1st I think you need to get through the interview. The reason is you need to have the Office at the CFO see all of the Documents.

This is misleading. Many people attend the CFO and go back later with their VISA to get the stamp.

OK, it's December 12. I nominate the first person to post info about a February interview for a gold star by their name!

(and if I see you in Manila I'll buy you a beer)

Congrats Madison and prayers for Roymcn3rd. Glad things are moving along so fast!

Anyway I have a question, I am planning on attending the CFO guidance and counseling as soon as I can. Do you think this is possible? What can I do? GEEZZ Im so lost! Shaking! and uuhhhh....

My fiance was told that the packet has been sent out last friday but until now I don't have it yet. I am kind of worried because I am only here in manila and uuugggghhhh what's taking so long?

Needing Help and Opinions,
Zane

1st I think you need to get through the interview. The reason is you need to have the Office at the CFO see all of the Documents. I do know your not to open up the Brown Envelope until you reach the Port Of Entry. Do you have an Interview date yet?
Try this link & put in your case # to see. Click on the "Check your case number here for appointment"

My Fiance waited until after the Visa was issued for the CFO...

This is the Packet #4

I really wish it was easier to get information....The way all of this goes down is inexusable. The Gov. should make all things more clear. I just spent 3 hours on the phone with a POE Question that no one could answer.....

You don't need the VISA to go to the CFO. Please don't post misleading information. :protest:

Yes and I think it's a good idea to get it out of the way ASAP. My fiancee plans to do her CFO the day before her medical exam. We plan to do the medical exam 1 month before her interview.

How much for an NBI? How many copies do I need to have? Should I bring my old NBI for requirements or do I need to get police clearance/barangay clearance to file again?

How much is the Birth certificate (NSO authenticated) by now? How many copies should I have for my requirements? Any requirements do I need to bring for this?

How much would a CENOMAR? How many copies should I have? requirements do I need to bring for this?

How many ids should I bring on the interview? I have my sss id, college id and postal id but accidentally I lost my wallet in the taxi. The id which is easy to produce is my postal id, is it ok if I got 1 id for my interview? It isn’t possible for me to get my school id, because currently I am not studying. About my SSS id, the employee says I need to wait for another month to get my replaced sss id?

I know I have so many questions here, please don’t get tired answering them. Hehe

My fiancee said last time her NBI was P115, BC was P125, and CENOMAR was P180.

Make sure BC is from NSO and on NSO security paper. Check your BC for changes, additions, etc.
Make sure when you get your NBI it has a thumbprint and is stamped "For travel to US".

We have 3 BCs, 2 CENOMARS, and 1 NBI. We don't know if the Embassy may keep one BC and maybe 1 CENOMAR, and we want at least one BC to bring to the US (for marriage license, etc.).

I have a nice multi-pocket folder and will bring everything so we will be well prepared.

I may have seen someone mentioned this before but i've having a difficult time in booking a one-way ticket through PAL. The error message that I received is "Sorry. We are having difficulty in validating your credit card. You may wish to enter details of an alternative card and try again. (M009)." Has anyone experienced this situation and if so successfully how did you get around this (besides using another card)? I used my VISA card. Aloha.

I have 4 different credit cards and none of them work on the PAL website. Apparently it's due to the Mastercard SecureCode and Verified by VISA they are using.

I have emailed them numerous times about this and all I get is a worthless canned response. I don't think they care if they sell tickets on their own website.

You can book PAL on Expedia for $5 more, that's what I did.

Just a follow up. Apparently the PAL website is broken and credit cards just don't work at all. I just got a report from a friend that even a SecureCode card will not work.

Can someone explain why the Consulate upon completion of the interview will not come out and say, "Your Visa is approved?" ...

Two words.... Plausible Deniability!

Personally, I suspect they don't want the grief associated with every AR or denial. It would further slow their bureaucratic process and be "unpleasant".

Very true! COs would, more than likely, have spend extra time trying to explain why the beneficiary was placed on AR or denied (especially if the sponsor is there), which would slow down the process.

Heh Sheriff, is that the same as saying CYA!!

Absolutely... That's why the COs always end the interview with, "Thank you now please wait in the lobby for your number to be called." Approved, AR, or Denied... Who knows!!!! In other works.... CYA!!! NEXT!!!

So the supervisor is reviewing it while you are waiting for them to call your number?

Thank you, We'll be flying via continental airlines tomorrow night. I am going to post my little experiences here about POE. Thanks for this wonderful community. Night and good mornng to all! Off the dreamland now.[/quote]

If you are on the CO flight to Guam and Honolulu I'd like to hear how it goes at the POE, and if it's done in Guam or Honolulu.
