This thread is a bit long for me to figure out who is the keeper of this list.
But, I added myself to the end. Thanks, this was exactly the info I was looking for earlier.

BTW, who is the list keeper?

I am wondering...
How are you deciding when the interview datw will be based on the case number? Is that listed on a website somewhere?
Just curious...

I think my #'s on the form are MNL2006776XXXX ?? any input on this???

My crystal ball says you have a good chance for a late February interview (otherwise early March). B)
[/quote]

I think garya505's crystal ball a little foggy, I'll be a little more specific. Feb 12th to 16th is looking good. :D
but like all psychic's, I'll only remind people of the one's I get right.

Specific sounds good to me. would you like to guess on 770 ?

THat's kool, Valentine's day season and my birthday month! LOL!

We're using the Julian date for Manila receipt of petition, which is the 3 digits after the 2006 in the case number. They are pretty predictable about taking these in order, and we have a rough idea about how many they have been taking each month (approximately 20 to 30) from reports of people who have their interview dates.

Hello everyone. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Anyone still stuffed?

I started a new Thanksgiving tradition. Since I couldn't spend the holiday with Jennie....that will come next year....and all of my family lives in other parts of the US, I decided to have a Pinoy Thanksgiving!

Well, if you can call it that. I basically did nothing all day but watch football and eat Longanisa and rice.

Anyway. Can you please change our Manila Received date on the list from 11/7/06 to 11/2/06?

Thank you. Ingat ka everyone.
Mike and Jennie

When Florenda gets here we are going to figure out how to make Turkey Longanisa.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionManila Embassy Interview

Hi all! I am hoping for an answer or some feedback to my questions. My wife is scheduled for medical exam on January 18 and interview on January 25. She lives in Cagayan De Oro, so it's a plane ride there to Manila. She doesn't know anyone in Manila, so she will be staying in a hotel. Here is what we decided. She will fly to Manila on January 17, of which is the day before her medical exam. She is going to bring everything that she is taking here to the USA with her. She will remain in Manila for the interview scheduled Thursday, January 25. I thinks its is best that she has her visa delivered to her hotel in Manila. Then she can board Northwest Airlines for a POE in Detroit. I will fly from Florida and meet her there.

My question is: If her K3 interview goes well on Thursday morning. Does anyone know about what day she will have the visa delivered to her at her hotel in Manila? Or, can she go to the embassy and pick it up? I would greatly appreciate someone sharing their knowledge or experience with the same. I want this to be as low stress as possible for her.

Thanks!

My fiance lives in Cagayan De Oro too!

If your wife is flying the day before the exam I would suggest taking an early flight in case of weather problems. AFIAK the CDO airport is not equipped for bad weather so flights can get cancelled. If you take an early flight at least you have a shot at another flight later in the day. My fiance will go 2 days before the exam. If everything goes well she can take the CFO seminar the day before exam, which is easier since St. Lukes will keep her passport. If not she can get another flight the next day. Oh, and I'm buying a ticket for her cousin to go with her so it will be a nicer trip for her.

We have been hearing that it is possible to pick up the VISA 1 to 3 days after interview but they don't always allow it so don't count on that. She will have to request that and see what they say. We have also been hearing from others that is possible to get it delivered to a metro Manila hotel within a week. The rumor is that they are more likely to allow VISA pick-up if the petitioner is present at the interview.

It's your call, but you might want to consider just letting her go home and wait for it. She could end up waiting a week in Manila for delivery anyway, and you might have to reschedule her flight. It's somewhat unpredictable. FWIW, two of my fiancee's friends in CDO got their VISAs delivered in 7 to 10 days.

I plan to go for the interview and request VISA pick-up. If they don't allow it we will ask for hotel delivery. If they don't allow that then I guess we will just head for Boracay for a week and then return to CDO.

I'll be ready to reschedule flights if needed, even though I know the airlines will charge me a lot if I do that. That's OK, she's worth it. :D

Kool Gary.... I haven't been in CDO since May. I have met my wife twice for two weeks each time in Manila since then. CDO is an okay place also. I am just ready for her to be here in Florida and so is she.

hi i live in cdo myself! but my fiance thought that its a good idea to breakdown the trip into 2... like if the interview is on feb, il fly to manila around jan to have my med exam early. then fly back again for the interview??? we thought that we'll have more time to see things if there's something wrong on the med (i hope not)... we thought too that we could save that way to make 2 trips than staying for 7 days in a hotel what do u think??? tnx

That's what we're doing. We will do the CFO and medical exam in the first trip (probably late January), then just the interview in the second trip (probably late February or early March). I will be there for the interview, then we'll wait for the VISA and then say ba-bye CDO! No more 72-hour work weeks for her!

Does anyone have the latest interview list? Last time I looked it appeared that they got up to MNL2006756XXX for January interviews.

We are a 756 and interview is Jan 30th I imagine we must be one of the last for January.

Ya, yours was the one I spotted. I'm discouraged theat they only seemed to get from 736 to 756 for January. At that rate they won't get to my 779 in February, but maybe early March I hope. It's hard to tell though, since we are such a small sample and not a random one at that.

So we have MNL2006768XXX number, do you feel that we will have a February interview date.

I was told you can call to get a earlier interview date?

Well you are a 768 and they got to 756 in January, so I think you will get a Februrary interview date. No you can't get an earlier date unless you have a really special case. You can move up the medical exam date however, which I think is a good idea for various reasons.

Hi there,
Can I get my medical exam 1 month ahead of time? My medical date is Jan 5, 2007 will it be ok if i have it on the first week of December? I just want to make sure Im doing the right thing.
Your response is highly appreciated. Thank you very much.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY TO EVERYBODY !!!!!:) :)

Lara

No it's not a problem and I think is a good idea. We plan to get ours about 4-5 weeks before interview because of the MMR 28-day wait.

I am just wondering if Nov 17 or the 17th of the month is the day that the embassy issues an interview date or is it not? Looks like people in VJ have found their interview date through online though the packet 4 has not been mailed yet. Congrats to those who received the good news

Sounds like the embassy has posted the January dates on the web site. If your case number isn't on the list, then it looks you did not make the list, though I have heard of a few stragglers that did get a date later in the month. I know that Jenalyn got packet 4 within one week of the date being posted on the web page.

do you have a link to that webpage???????????thanx!

oh yeah...is it true now Philippine airlines not operating anymore and cathay pacific airline is now operating limited service for them??

You may have this confused with the operation of Air Philippines flights by Philippine Airlines. At least when I flew PAL on Oct 15 that was still the case.

ok i am here so here are my questions:

1) how long is NBI certificate good for after u get it...
2) how long does it take to get a CENOMAR? (or is my boyfriend really still married ROFL! )
3) How far in advance can u take the medical?

thanx all!

There are a lot of incorrect posts about the medical exam question. From what I have read here and other places, you can take the medical exam 1 or 2 months in advance of the interview without causing problems. Anything earlier than that could cause problems later, like at your 90-day AOS if the doc thinks the medical is only good for 6 months.

We plan to get our medical exam 1 month before the interview because of the MMR vaccine and I plan to be there for the interview.

Quick question,

What does the $18 payment get me for the PIN? Manila has my case, and we are waiting for Package 4? Will they be able to give me an idea when Tita will be scheduled? Thank you.

you will not receive packet 4 till after you have been scheduled an interview. the call center will probably tell you it will be 120 to 150 days from the date your petition arrived at the Embassy to be scheduled an interview. from your timeline your looking at possibly Feb, if not then March interview.
no charge for the info. :D

looks like the January interviews are out. congrats to roundbo, trey n roxy, and glen & rosemarie.

Can the call center people tell me if my packet has been received at the Embassy? They don't answer my emails.

I notice some timelines showing the date the Manila Embassy received the petition. How do you get that date, since they don't send out a notice?

Well i am sure we will not be in januarys list, which is actually good but i just like to see things moving along.
Our bay is due end of december early january so my fiancee will need a few weeks to recover before she will be able to fly to manila for her medical and interview so february or march would be better for us but i just am waiting..
Really want to be there to see our baby born but unable to get away from my business at that time to go to phils.

We are about 5 days ahead of you and I am guessing we will get a February date.

Still waiting for interview date, hope we are included on january list.

Your dates in your sig don't match your dates in your timeline.

I'm guessing that it's mostly cases arriving at the Manila USE in August who will get the January interviews.
What do you all think?

alot of us in August have received Dec. interviews. I think we'll see those in Sept also getting Jan interviews.

My fiancee and I will be overjoyed if that happens.

BJZags - Was your fiancee able to complete the medical exam an vaccination the same day?

That would be a big negative sheriff Uling. Originally she thought she wasn't going to need any vaccinations which is why she thought maybe she'd be done in one day. Turns out the second-day for the vaccinations was even longer then her initial medical on the first day. And I'm not sure, but due to the "pain" she expressed, it seems like they adminster the vaccinations with cattle prods or something.

LOL! Many of the fiancees that were there with mine all had bruises on their arms for the needles. I mean huge bruises. The kind that take about a week or so to go away... I'm going to be laughing about the cattle prods thing most of the day...

Hmmm, that reminds me of my vaccinations before the first time I went to the Phils. Hep A, Hep B, Influenza, Pneumonia, Tetanus/Diptheria, and Polio I think. I got 3 in each arm and had the chills that night, which the doc told me was a normal reaction.

A couple questions:

What might "Extended port of entry" mean?

We are doing practice questions for the interview and that one came up. Any ideas?

Elaine will be going to Manila on Friday her time, so the day after tomorrow, and then she will try to get into the medical exam earlier than the 27th.

...does she need to make some calls to reschedule the medical appointment? or is is first come first serve?

"extended port of entry" -- never head of it. POE would simply mean where she would go through customs when she arrives in America. Flying to Harrisburg, PA Jen's POE would be Detroit since that would be where she initially lands in America and switches planes.

And you do NOT need to re-schedule the medical, just show-up EARLY at St. Lukes Mon-Fri. Jen's was "scheduled" for Nov. 28th but she did it on Tuesday. She arrived at 5:45 AM and was the 79th person in-line at the time. It's my understanding that they only allow 100 people in for medicals each day.

Based on that, it sounds like if you get there much after 6AM you're probably not going to get an exam that day, whether you have an appointment or not.

You can just show up any time without rescheduling? Do they ask for the interview appointment letter?

First, I want to extend my deepest prayers to those still awaiting the joy for which they rightfully deserve...

I can't win for losing.

So let me clear this up now. I'm presuming the statement above my have been misinterpreted by at least one of our fellow members. IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FASHION WAS I ATTEMPTING TO RUB MY APPROVAL IN ANYONE'S FACE. Goodness! I am actually writing that for Windchaser and PW who have been kicked down by the process and really deserve and need our prayers (not to mention grace). But I tried to make the comment general not to alienate anyone that may be going through a similar struggle(s). My statement was not intended for those who are awaiting their interview dates/appointments. Why can't you just ask me what I mean instead of attacking me in PMs. I have given my heart to this particular thread because I feel a deep and genuine bond because we all share in this experience together. I'm really angry... hurt.. and disappointed. And you my friend are mistaken.

Thanks a bunch...

Uling

p.s. The thanks a bunch is sarcasm… so if you want to attack me… attack me for that!!!

Your statement is perfectly clear. Some people read what they want to read. :help:

First, I want to extend my deepest prayers to those still awaiting the joy for which they rightfully deserve.

I can not express the overwhelming emotions I feel. My Baby called me yelling... WE'RE APPROVED!!! I somehow always knew but I wanted to officially her it from her lips. SWEET!!! I'm going to give my family and friends a call, get something to eat, sit back and take it all in... This is like winning a big game... It's really cool but we won't the championship. Maramig Salamat for all of you well wishes. I am deeply touched. May God continue to bless us with his grace and mercy.

Cheers!!!

Well anyways, I sent all the papers in yesterday, here is the nail biting thus beginning. It's in Kentuky right now hopefully going to be put on a plane nd supposedly
going to be delivered by next Thursday. I hope it gets there safely.

I've got one you won't hear again. My ex-wife and her husband ("my step-husband") are hand delivering my papers to my fiancee in Bacolod for her interview.

Their trip to Iloilo exactly coincided with the timing to get my papers to Lilia. They will take Lilia out to lunch in Bacolod and then go to Lilia's home for a visit. Last time my ex went to Iloilo in March, she delivered an entire suitcase full of clothes and gifts to Lilia. Lilia's sister got sick on the ferry and they had to spend the night with my ex and her family. Now that is really an "extended family". :o

Thought you guys could use a smile. I know I need one. Waiting for the interview date after waiting for IMBRA is truly causing gray hair.

I was hoping for an "official answer" on this too. Now I have heard that the medical expires in 6 months. I've also heard 1 year. I know we are getting ahead of ourselves here. But, I was of course really hoping we will have NOA2 within the next 30 days. I was then going to have Sheryl go to Manila in December for her medical and CFO. The reason so early you might ask? She has a friend who is an OSW and she will be home in Manila in December. So she would have somewhere to stay and have someone to go with her to her medical and CFO. If not most likely I would have her go with one of her sisters and stay in a hotel. Just trying to save a little money here.

Doh I'm sorry it is 1 year.

Fiancé(e)s.
If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.

http://www.uscis.gov.../form/i-485.pdf

I think i got it confused with the Visa valid for 6 months

Oh in that case it seems like you could get the physical exam as soon as you get the NOA2 and there should be no problem with the date.

So, lets say about 30 days after the physical you leave the Phils, and assuming a 90 day AOS after US arrival, that's 4 months. So, that means a physical exam anytime within about 2 months before interview would still be valid. But you never know, your departure from the Phils could be delayed ...

Ok, I am starting to get real anxious now. I just filled out all the packet 4 forms for Luz, I got my letter of employment today and a friend just mailed me a certified copy of my divorce that she got from my home-town courthouse. The third week of Jan I will have Luz and Robin go do their medical and they will also get current NBI reports for both of them Luz will also get a new BC while she is at it.
It's getting close guys! 40 days from now I arrive in Manila and 42 days from now is the interview! I am going crazy with anticipation! Not only will I get to see my baby again but we will find out if she can come to America so we can marry!! God I wish I could just fast-forward the next 5 1/2 weeks!!

Steve3656...

Question: Do you know if they still require a bank account letter for the interview or is that optional.

Answer: Yes! The instructions for the I-134 state that:

"The sponsor must submit in duplicate evidence of incomeand resources, as appropriate:

A. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions where you have deposits...
.........1. Date account opened;
.........2. Total amount deposited for the past year;
.........3. Present balance.
B. Statement of your employer on business stationery, revealing:
.........1. Date and nature of employment;
.........2. Salary paid;
.........3. Whether the position is temporary or permanent.
C. If self-employed:
.........1. Copy of last income tax return filed
.........2. Report of commercial rating concern.
D. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s)."

NOTE: Most sponsors do NOT submit anything under item "D", but the USE does't seem to mind because not everyone has stocks and bonds. On the other hand, there is a strong likelyhood that sponsors have bank account(s) and the USE may look unfavorable about a missing statement from the bank or other financial institution concerning the sponsors' deposit(s).

Ahmari & Jhen

p.s. - VJ Family please chime in...

steve3656,
you can provide copies bank statements instead of letter from the bank. what I provided my fiancee with was 3 most recent tax transcripts, copies of the W-2, notarized form I-134, and a letter from my employer. I didn't provide bank statements or bank letter, but I'm not recommending you don't. I didn't feel it necessary with my particular situation.

Let's say, for example, that your income is 3X the poverty level. Is there any point at all in providing a bank statement or letter from the bank for an account with say, $3000 in it? Or for that matter, is there any point in providing anything other than the employer letter, copies of tax returns, and W-2 forms?

So I don't need to do anything at all?

Yes, you don't need to do anything. Remember the email that the embassy sent you? There's a part there that mentions about the validity of NOA2. Here it is...

We want to assure you that while an approved fiancé(e) petition is originally valid for four months from the date of its approval, a consular officer may revalidate it for an additional four months. This revalidation is routine as long as you and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to do so within 90 days after the beneficiary is admitted into the United States.

I see. It didn't understand "routine" to mean automatic, but I guess it is.

Hmmm, then why does VJ have a sample letter requesting an extension?

I've got an example. I will try to attach it here. If not I will copy and paste.

Yes thats the VJ example letter, but the concenus here is that it's not needed at all. Or is it?

Well I've decided to fax one. After reading an article that touched on this subject from Marc Ellis our own VJ'er and immigration attorney I decided that's the best course of action. I mean I do beleive the dates are routinely extended but I figure why not cover all the bases.

That's what I was thinking too. I'm going to be there for the interview and I don't plan on flying home alone.
