K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC Sending applicatoins direct to embassies?
When I called USCIS they said they have nothing to do with the interview process and that my petition has likely been forwarded to the embassy in Manila, Philippines but they really don’t know where my petition is right now. Their classic answer to any question you ask is to call back in 30 days. When I call the U.S. Embassy in Manila they say “we don’t have your file and we suggest you contact USCIS and ask them about your petition”. When I call USCIS back they tell me “give it 30 days and call the U.S. Embassy in Manila”. I have no idea where my petition is right now.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC Sending applicatoins direct to embassies?
I have called the USCIS toll free number three times on the same day and spoke with three different representatives and got three different answers to the same question. This is the question I asked: “Do K-1 visa petitions go to the National Visa Center before being sent to the foreign embassy”? The first representative told me all K-1 visa petitions are sent to the National Visa Center. The second representative told me none of the K-1 visas were sent to the National Visa Center but are sent directly to the foreign embassy. The third representative I spoke to said some of the petitions are sent to the National Visa Center and some are sent directly to the foreign embassy.

Thanks everyone. I really liked some of your answers. I wasn't really thinking with I posted. I was concerned that they may look at what he could contribute to the US. So, I don't think him playing soccer for a living will cause any problems. Ok......one concern down......how many to go???????????

My SO and I will probably begin the K-1 process sometime next year, but I'm trying to start getting all my ducks in a row now.

A comment was mentioned to me the other day regarding the importance of what the beneficiary does for a living.

How high would you rank what he/she does for a living now and what they plan to do for a living when they get to the US? How big of an issue would you think this would be at the consulate level?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Processing times - question

What you see on the USCIS site is the oldest petition(s) they are working on (not the most recent like you'd think  ). It doesn't mean what you think - they are processing petitions filed much after that. It's their way of covering their rears... Hope that clarifies it for ya...

Hi all -

I've noticed that according to the USCIS California Service Center's latest update (April 18th), they are just now processing I-129F's from October, 2006.

However, from the anecdotal information on this site, it seems like most couples are approved in approximately 3 months.

Can anyone help me clarify this discrepancy? I just submitted my completed I-129F in April 2007.

HI!! It is my first time to reply so be gentle!!

I filed my I-129f on Feb 21 2007 by certified mail and they checked off the box on my certified mail the 26th of Feb. They put in system, they say, on March 1, 2007. I recieved another touch on 3-14-07. And then nothing. I call them about an issue i had (such as when is this going to be completed) and they told me from the "time the website USCIS shows until the app date. until then we don't touch it." So then, i am very mad about this because the website showed 9-13-07. that means it will be 6 months + another "6 months?" for processing our visa. So, a year will pass. I am discouraged. How do you guys know that they are being worked on?

Thanks for the help!

I am a school teacher and this summer was the first time I visited my fiancee.
I left the US on July 2 2008 and returned on the 9th. The visit was short for the reason that I had to return due to work related responsibilities. I recently consulted an immigration lawyer who thought that he could get an approval, but thought the short ammount of time we spent together could be a problem. He thought I might need to take another visit to satisfy the possible skepticism of the embassy or the UCIS. Has anyone got any insight in to this or suggestions. He did say though, that it might not be a problem. I would appreciate any insight in to this possible. innocent.gif

I visited my fiancee in the summer of 2008 for about seven days. I have evidence of the trip and records of our daily conversations on yahoo messenger along with cards we have sent one another. I have had difficulty making another trip since the first. I have had some financial setbacks recently and I am wondering if it is possible for me to use the evidence I have to get approved or is a second visit really necessary to increase my chances of approval.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about Sponsor and Co-Sponsor
This website has been a great help for me and my fiancee while we've been getting our forms together and filled out for the K1 process, but I haven't found information on one question that's been bugging me.

I'm a full-time student, and I've been taking on a very heavy class-load since my fiancee and I decided that we would like to get married. I have a very supportive family who pay my way through college so that I can focus on my studies, and as such, I have not had a "real" job yet. I know that my co-sponsor's income is sufficient for the requirements.

First of all, does the Netherlands accept co-sponsors at their consulate?
And, if so, what would I have to do when it comes time to file my I-134s? Do I need to go and get a part time job? Or would having a co-sponsor able to show a proper amount of support be sufficien

Thanks for any and all help!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview/Manila
Medical exam should be done at least one week before the interview. What I did since my husband was my fiancée then came to see me anyway in Manila of November 2006 I just go ahead have my medical exam. I came to Manila ahead of time before he arrives from US on November 8, 2006. (By the way I am also from Davao City). We are anticipating then that my interview will be between January or February 2007. I went to St. Lukes Extension Center November 6, 2006 without an appointment letter. I show the guard my manila case number and they let me go ahead with my medical exam. My packet 4 was delivered in Davao on November 7 when I was still in Manila I was interviewed at US Embassy in Manila on January 03, 2007. My passport with a visa was delivered at Davao on January 08, 2007.

I think it will best for her to do the medical exam ahead of time if possible, just in case she will undergo some more test she have time to do the necessary thing before the interview. Otherwise if she does it 2 days before the interview chances are if there will be more tests needed her interview might be post pone. Medical exam is valid for 6 months.

God Bless..

If you have some more question regarding medical, CFO & interview feel free to write me at mgvinson@hiwaay.net . I will glad to help.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVSC RFE to NO2

How long it take for adjudicate to reivew response for RFE?

VSC has been updated for receiving RFE since 9/26/2006, but not touch after the date. Any one have similar experience?

When I call the VSC, they say is on the way to adjudicator since 9/28/2006. Do I have problem hint the name check?

help!!!

Are you asking if they will give you an updating saying the RFE was sufficient or not? If so, then they won't do that, if what you sent in response wasn't sufficient then they will simply send you another RFE for what they need.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresToo much VJ

What has happened to me?? I used to have morals!! I used to have a life!! I remember jumping on Yodrak one time for being too Confrontational on this site. And look what happened to me, just 2 weeks later. I'm the one posting unnecessary threads, getting involved in controversy, and spending too much time on this site for the wrong reasons.

At first it was cool. I was in the middle of the process, gathering my papers, sending them in, asking questions, learning about IMBRA, waiting for NOA1, getting RFE's, and so on. Now I'm at a stale mate like everyone else. I keep coming to this site to stay connected with the process and vicariously to my fiancee.

Now that I have no more questions until I get the NOA2. I find myself getting too involved with this site and too wrapped up in the process. I'm bored with the normal things about this site and lately have been keeping my interest by proving theory's that don't even matter. Who do I think I am?? what am I doing??

I think I need to take a step back and remember why I'm here. I'm here to get advise from people who have been through what I'm heading into, and I'm here to give back the advise that I've gotten to the newbie.

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for getting too involved, sorry for controversy, sorry if I've made anyone upset, sorry for being opinionated on others feelings, and sorry for not giving back the way I should be.

For now on I'm back to the basics! to ask and answer questions concerning the I-129F process.

God bless you all!! and good luck!!!!

 Very well put. I don't think anyone could've said it any better.

I'm going the "have a current file open on my computer and I can switch to it on a whim" route. Seems to be working well. Except I think they are starting to notice there have been no changes in a file in the past weeks. :P

:star: Cass (bebop the great)

I still am following the 'lots of paper on my desk makes me look busy' phylosophy. Of course, text messaging on my cell is kinda obvious.

I turned my computer around so noone sees my screen. The back of the monitor faces the aisle. Lucky I have an "L" shaped desk that allows that to happen. I see people coming and they are talking to me before they ever can get close enough to see anything on my screen

wolf

 Doing anything online at work is a big "no-no". And it doesn't matter if you turn your screen away from office traffice or if you have an open file open that you can switch back and forth. Where I work has every known tracking program known to modern man. A couple of years ago they posted the new rules, told everyone what they were and also told what would happen if the new rules were broken. And a group of people were hired to do nothing all day but to monitor what everyone else is doing on their computers. they have a program that will red flag certain sites or if you've been in a gray area too long. To date there have been 10 disciplinary actions and 4 people terminated for misuse of a work computer. So not too many people stray far off the beaten path at my workplace. The bosses are dead serious about goofing off on the computer. Which in the long run is best for me or else I would be doing what you guys are doing.

Hi, All,

Just wanted to share my excitement today after coming back last night from seeing my Fiance and had check my e-mail adn there was my approval after 25days. Any help would be appreciated......

Thanks,

:( I don't mean any disrespect to anyone at VSC who gets their approvals fast and fairly easy. Congrats to all who have the "blessing" of being able to file at Vermont. But speaking for those who are still sitting and waiting patiently at CSC for 6 to 9 months for an approval, seeing your approval in 25 days, or someone else's in 14 or 15 days is a bit hard to swallow. No, it's not your fault that CSC is so slow. But it is your fault for waving like a red flag the number of days it took you to get your NOA2. Why can't you just say that you got it and NOT say how long it took you to get it? Would that not be "nicer" to those who have waited for so long already? Waiting for 25 days for your approval is nothing compared to those poor souls who are still waiting for approval after more than 150 to 200 days. Those guys are suffering. 25 days. Bah! What kind of suffering is that? Geeez.

Wow where did you get this info. Would love to see the web site or wherever.
thanks
Doug

All the info is right here at VJ. You just have to do some counting and a little math for each month. I didn't count anything that's happened with Vermont K-1's. I know that some of those are slow too but most of them are approved with 30 to 60 days with an average of 38 days. I just took the California K-1's from March until August. As more people apply and submit K-1's for September, then those can be added. When I get some time I'll try to do January and February just for the historical data. I know there are some still there from those months still waiting. Overall most of the K-1's for CSC are in the target months I did percentages on. There was a flurry of June approvals then those died away some, then a whole bunch of July approvals and now it seems like those are dying down a bit too. Is August the next month for a rash of approvals? Too early to tell. But you're right, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the way CSC is even looking at the applications. But that's looking at it from our side of the fence. Maybe to them what they're doing makes all the sense in the world.

Well!

Looks like if you don't get an RFE it might take two months to get through CSC.. then another month till you get packet three from the embassy.. then however long it takes them to get him in for an interview. Maybe four to seven months? But who knows? These things are really hard to predict, and some people get RFEs even though they have tons of evidence. Anyway, four months or twelve, we'll all get through it eventually. Be strong!

 I don't want to offend you or anything but why in the world do you have that ugly ####### picture of the anteater or ardvarck or whatever the heck that thing is, on a site about immigration?

The person didn't ask you for your PERSONAL opinion of their fiancee. It's not of your business if he's been married 1 or 10 times. The decision to marry him or not is up to her and since she didn't anyone here if she should marry him or not, then we should keep our private thoughts and opinions to ourselves.
