I mean other than the required documents like the US spouse's birth certificate, divorce decrees, etc. (which were given at the K-1/K-3/CR-1 application stage), they again ask for tax returns, bank statements, mortgage documents, etc. I honestly don't know what they are really trying to determine that hasn't already been determined at some other stage of the immigration process. It just seems like a lot of duplication of effort here. Honestly, after the ROC, they should just charge us a fee for the interview/civics test and naturalization certificate and welcome us into the fold! Obviously I'm going to comply with all the requirements but I was just pondering this....... Care to weigh in? I have often wondered the same thing. When you file for your AOS you send a whole lot of info and then as you are removing conditions you resend the same info plus the additional two years since and then have to resend the same stuff all over again some months later. How many trees can one kill! I wish they had a central system that scanned all the paperwork and they can just go back in and review as needed. I guess they just want to make the process as difficult and complicated as possible to weed people out. But what do we know! Do you know if your check has been cashed yet? and how did you send your information (can you confirm that it was received?) you can log onto the www.uscis.gov website but you will need a receipt number to track your case which you will get when you get your Biometrics notice. I would suggest if your check has not been cashed that you might want to call the them at 1-800-375-5283 just to see if the call center has your account. go through the prompts and say you do not have/ cannot remember your receipt number. No. 09031164 (posted Mar. 11, 2009) At the Vermont Service Center liaison meeting on March 2, 2009, VSC advised that they will continue to send weekly shipments of I-751 petitions to the California Service Center through the end of March. VSC noted that to date, they have sent approximately 50,000 I-751s to CSC. VSC is also continuing to ship I-539s to CSC, which have so far included approximately 14,000 I-539s. I do not think the biometrics letter will be enough because I have heard of people on here that used their NOA and had problems anyone traveling is usually adviced to get a stamp on their passport instead of using the NOA. But then again you never know. If his green card has not expired yet he will be ok. So after verifying all my info and telling me that he can't make an inquiry or something for me because he had no way of telling whether I was outside the processing time or not for CSC because their info is no longer online, he took the initiative to transfer me to another dept where they would be in a better position to look into my inquiry and assist me further. So, I said very well and lo and behold I was transferred. This lady got on the phone with me and she was good too and I verified my info to her and sure enough she went like "Ma'am I see that some action was taken on your case on 05/29/09" and I was like what does that mean? Then later on she went ahead and told me that I was approved on that day and that I should be expecting my card in the mail in the next.... I can't remember how many days she said then she went ahead and asked me to verify my mailing address and I gave her my old one then told her that I had made a change of address and she was like...yeah that's probably why you haven't heard from us so she went ahead and updated my address with the new one. She said that I should be getting my new card sent to the new mailing address. Phew! Thank God! Thank you Jesus! Thank you all for your help and for all you guys waiting out there....please don't give up hope....your day is coming too...sooner than soon! Just keep up with that positive attitude! WOOOHOOOOOOOO! Oh before I forget my timeline is as follows, Mailed my packet 08/11/08 via express mail to TSC (Packet was then forwarded to VSC) NOA Dated 08/16/08 (1 year extension letter) Biometrics Taken 08/13/08 Transferred to CSC 03/02/09 Touched, touched again on 03/03/09 and 03/05/09 Approved 05/29/09 (Phone) I haven't received any mail yet from them, no e-mail, no online updates. I'ts all a little mind boggling and I think I have given up trying to figure out USCIS. No. 09031164 (posted Mar. 11, 2009) At the Vermont Service Center liaison meeting on March 2, 2009, VSC advised that they will continue to send weekly shipments of I-751 petitions to the California Service Center through the end of March. VSC noted that to date, they have sent approximately 50,000 I-751s to CSC. VSC is also continuing to ship I-539s to CSC, which have so far included approximately 14,000 I-539s. In addition, VSC noted it recently shipped approximately 3000 H-1B extension petitions to CSC in March 2009. I have one more month to go before I can call anyone and I keep hoping it will not come to that. I called the misinformation line the other day to inquire what the hold up was and of course no one had an answer- they just read what was on my online file. I did inform them though that I would be contacting my senator if I did not hear something in the next month and they said I did not need to do that I just needed to call them and put in a service request I guess all I can do is wait. In addition he is a lot older than me) Anyway the agent was really nice and asked basic questions about the additional documents we had brought- the tax returns, the trips we made (2 abroad) and about our families.
