Glad to see more progress. oh, that sounds so simple! uk filers can contact the embassy in london by email BUT only after calling them (on a phoneline that costs $2.50ish/minute!) to get a email code (that changes weekly!) so that you can email them. i think that is pretty awful and inefficient. its like the love to add extra steps to make it more arduous. It was weird I took 3 pregnancy tests on Saturday and Sunday and they were all positive and I started bleeding on Friday. I called the dr and she said it could be an early loss where during cell division the chromosomes were abnormal and it ended the pregnancy she said it was very common but most women dont even realize it because their period is late but then it comes just a lot heavier??? So I was fingerprinted and they took my picture, and stapled a little card in my passport that the canadian border people will have to return to them to show that I left the US/entered Canada. They of course asked questions about our relationship and what I do (I'm actually still on maternity leave and don't have a job to go back to, plus I sold my apt last month so really can't show any links to Canada....the question got me nervous!) So here I am with the girls and Dex ready to look fabulous at Dex' cousins wedding tomorrow! At least the shoes I bought lifted my spirit! LOLOLOLOL I really can't wait to be here permanently. patience....patience...patience......... Glad you made it through!! Which POE did you come through? What I mean to say is that everything and everyone is simply being that which they are. A well-behaved, well-mannered, well-educated child shall perform one way in my class. This child often can act mischievous since regular classwork seems boring to this child. I need to challenge this child intellectually by allowing this student to act more freely, more creatively. Then this student blossoms. I have other students that simply want the work. Give it to me, I'll do what I need to. These students are a majority and can be taught to right down the middle. Then there are students who detest studying, authority, etc. These students can still be taught to, however I only teach about a half of a dozen of them, which makes it much easier. Anyway, each and every child is perfect; absolutely, brilliantly, perfectly being that which they are. This can be applied to any situation. I find that the close one comes to an absolute truth, the more universal may it be applied. For example, the dictum 'all life is sacred,' which is the first tenet of Buddhism, can be applied to any situation and it always fits. That life is worth preserving is a self evident truth that needs no defending nor could it even be proven. It simply is. 12 step groups have a dictum "There are no such things as justified resentments." The concept is that one can always choose forgiveness, which in the end is always best for everyone. Forgiveness must not be mistaken for passivity, that is you can love the tiger without climbing into the cage with him. You can love the thief but just don't loan him your car! Anger and malice always destroys the person who hates, but forgiveness lightens one's load so to speak. Back to the truth that everything is perfect. Each one of us on this board represents a unique perspective, which is equally valid. How you respond to getting an RFE may be entirely different from my reaction, yet we are both expressing ourselves as who we are. When our NOA2's arrive is based upon literally billions of factors both known and unknown. In Eastern thought this is the concept of Karma. All that has ever taken place gives rise to this perfect moment which contributes to the fulfillment of the subsequent moment and so on. So that folks, whose petitions arrived a week after mine, have already received NOA2. How I choose to respond is up to me. I can wait and be patient (which I seem to have an abundance of) or I could get fearful or angry, sad or just not care. There is an enormous range of choices of how to be, however only a few really appeal to me and they include optimism, love, courage, kindness, understanding and willingness. With such attitudes and understanding that all is perfect, trust me folks, it is! Every single second of every single day unfolds perfectly, whether it was all smiles or in tears. Everything and everyone are being precisely what they are and could not be anything other than that at that moment. It is a beautiful karmic dance which unfolds before one's perception like a thousand armed god who makes it all go (Hindu God Shiva). It's simply perfect. Very eloquent. Thank you for sharing this. It would be nice to use the same terminologies for everyone, to keep it simple. Here is my thought... ~ We can always put "Legal" so people know that is the date for the marriage license. ~ We can put "Celebration" for the church (or place of worship) or ceremonial wedding that is/is not the legal marriage date. ~ We can put "Church" for the church (or place of worship) or "Ceremonial" for the wedding that is/is not legal, but the formal celebration. I really don’t have anything to add about the interview itself as my experience was similar to everyone else’s. It was very simple, they didn’t ask many questions at all: how did we meet? what does my fiancé do for a living? have I ever been arrested? and I was asked about the time I was denied entry at the border (lack of ties to Canada); and they didn’t want any of my evidence of an ongoing relationship (other then my updated letter of intent from my fiancé). All of the people I dealt with were friendly, and the view of Montreal from up there was fantastic. I do have some bus info for anybody who is flying into Montreal. The airport shuttle bus to downtown costs $16, but you can take the regular city bus for $2.75 (have exact change). The bus stop is right outside the terminal near where you get the tickets for the shuttle bus. Take bus #204 which will stop at a bus terminal not far away, then switch to bus #211. This one will stop right outside the XX metro station where you can then use the same ticket from the bus (it’s valid for 2 hours for connections) to get on the metro to your final destination. It’s not a lot of money to save, but if you’re taking the shuttle/metro anyhow it might be worth while. It’s such a relief to finally be finished.
