im the u.s. citizen, my husband is from pakistan but he is in the philippines...i sent our I 130 from here (US) currently at vermont service center...but yung consulate sana sa manila...he has been living in the philippines for about 4 -5 years kasi nag aral siya dun...he lives with my parents na now...

Philippinespolice clearance foreigner in the philippines
our situation: my husband is living in the philippines, we just got our nao2...preparing for NVC documents:

for the local police clearance, my husband got one copy and they said he can apply for another one when the interview at the embassy comes...do they really do this?

also for the NBI, they said they can give only one copy that is good for one year, he will pick it up on may 18...now i am wondering where can we get it certified, the NBI police clearance?

also my husband was able to get another birth certificate and police clearance from pakistan but i was just wondering where we can have it certified in case we need more copies? is it the same as notarized? will they accept this in NVC? we tried to ask the pakistan embassy in the philippines if they can certify a copy of the original police clearance from pakistan but they said they could not do it.

anyone have any idea?

i want to rebond my hair when i go visit the philippines this year and cut it short like shoulder length again, my hair past my bra strap right now but my hubby says not to cut it. i dont really have time to fix up my hair and let it loose and flaunt it because i do work in a hospital and i just want it out of the way. i am still having second thoughts about cutting it short...sayang nga talaga. mga pinay kasi known for long black hair tapos sabi nila it makes me look younger. pa tingin naman ng pics ng long hair niyo. here kasi wala naman pa hot oil not like in the philippines...

Go to StLUKES send her a copy of the letter from NVC, email or mail your choice: it's walk in so don't worry best to go Tues-Thurs to avoid rush.

congratulations on your residency! you might also want to get a copy of employment from the hospital you are working in stating your annual income and when you started working there and if your temporary/permanent fulltime or not, that sort of thing...my income for last year did not make the 125% above poverty line because i only started working in august of 2008 but the annual income of my job meets my requirement. so when i applied for AOS for my husband, i sent a letter from the place where i worked. I also explained that I have not filed for the previous years because I was still a student...best of luck to you...you sound kinda familiar?

my husband is pakistani but he has been living in the philippines for 6 years now and the interview is scheduled in manila philippines.

he is only required to show 3 police clearance:
1. from peshawar (because after he turned 16 he lived there for about 3 years) then when he was 19 he moved to the philippines.
2. from baguio city philippines (current city he has lived for 6 years in the philippines) and
3. NBI police clearance.
we gave the original police clearances all 3 to NVC and we have another set of originals for the interview including another original freah copy from peshawar pakistan (which is one of the things required to be shown again at the embassy in manila as instructed in his appointment letter)

FYI: in manila, philippines after the medical exam, they take the passports and will forward it to the u.s. consulate in manila.

i wish i was there for my husband's interview but the had the stupid RFE...so it delayed everything and i had to come back for work...im moving to a new apartment after the interview and i am so excited to decorate and stuff but just holding it in so that we can do it together...miss my husband now...

Anyways, they don't check or verify to see what you turn in is actual your tax statement or actual tax return you turned in.

Cuz, if they wanted to they would have you sign a release from which authorizes the IRS to send a copy of your tax return to the USEM.

DOES THE CO USUALLY ASK FOR THE TAX RETURN COPY? I ONLY GAVE MY HUSBAND A COPY OF MY 1040EZ (THE FEDERAL TAX RETURNS) AND A COPY OF THE REFUND CHECK THAT WE GOT BECAUSE WE FILED MARRIED FILLING JOINTLY.

MY COUSIN WHO DID OUR TAXES TAKES A MILLION YEARS TO REPLY TO MY EMAILS AND ONLY FORWARDED A COPY OF THE 1040EZ THROUGH PDF TO MY EMAIL SO MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO PRINT IT OUT. WILL THAT BE SUFFICIENT? OUR INTERVIEW IS IN TWO DAYS AND MY HUSBAND IS GOING TO MANILA ON THURSDAY TO INTERVIEW ON FRIDAY MORNING. WILL THEY ASK FOR THE STATE RETURN? WILL WE BE DENIED OR ASKED TO COME BACK BECAUSE WE DONT HAVE OUT COPY? I MEAN OBVIOUSLY WE FILED FOR BOTH OTHERWISE WE WOULDNT GET THE FEDERAL REFUND RIGHT? white slip does not mean denial....

it means they are asking for more documents or your case is under review like ours. we got the white slip but we were not told to give any more documents...they had everything that they needed, just additional review or AP/AR which totally sucks
