K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShould I include my western union transactions in initial K-1 petition?

Good advice, thats what the instructions from the United States Embassy in Manila says. I wonder if they are related to the United States Embassy in Ghana. Come to think of it, both embasies are operated by the State Department of the United States, under the same laws.

Simplistic answer to a possibly complex question.

T-Bone's advice about following the information and advice of other folks having immigration business with Sub-Saharan interviewing embassies/consulates is reasonable. Si, man.

I don't recall needing CENOMAR documentation, or anything similar, at our interview last year at the US consulate in Guangzhou, China. However, we did need to have Notarial Certificates (AKA White Books).  But, hey, it is also operated by the US DOS, under the same rules and laws. However, with distinct differences and nuances related to the country and/or region.

YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDidn't sign intent to marry statement

so the OP asked for information, you are giving your opinion based on what you have read, I am giving information based on first hand experience.. needle in a haystack yes for sure, but regardless of all the posts here, there is some sort of organized formats, bar codes, and sorting that allows all this information to be funneled into the correct location.. that is why you put it attention to the correct department.. its not like there are a million people working on certain file types in the offices unless of course they are working on DACA files
luck is not necessary when you are following the broken process

That is the rationale behind the RFE process. The instructions state to return the missing information with the original RFE notice. The RFE notice has the appropriate routing information so that the missing information arrives at the correct location for inclusion with the intended application/petition and hopefully successful adjudication. That is in contrast to just sending in missing information to a service center and hoping that it is correctly forwarded to the correct location.

It is more likely that the people working at the service centers are working all manner of immigration application and petitions, including the (now likely over) 650,000 DACA petitions:

http://www.uscis.gov...aca-13-3-15.pdf

uhm... actually you can, this is straight from the officer at the local office that I talked to in person

Good luck with that!

That is akin to finding and matching up two needles in a very large haystack. There have been some limited reports of success, though, the probability of success is certainly not very high. At least with an RFE notice there is a reference point as to the location of the information-deficient petition at the service center, and a higher likelihood of matching the missing document to the correct petition.

YMMV.

No you can not. There is no way to match up any subsequent mailings with your case files....until an adjucator opens the files (and send you an RFE) you have to just wait it out.

Generally, the Vermont Service Center and California Service Center are the main processing centers for I-129F K-1 petitions. However, due to the recent deluge of other types of visa applications, USCIS has been reallocating K-1 processing workload to other service centers.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresour petition was approved, now what?

Hi I'm new to this site.
I'm a US citizen and my fiancé is Kenyan. We were approved for our petition for the K1 visa a few weeks ago and I've read everything on what we'll be doing next. I guess my question is, will he get something in the mail from the embassy in Nairobi? Or should he just start filling out the forms, collecting police records, making the medical appointment with the required physician off the state department website etc? He can't get to his mailbox very often so I don't know if they've sent anything to him yet. And of course we'd like to go as fast as possible since it's been a long time since we've seen each other.

And at what point should we contact the embassy to make sure the ball is rolling?

Thanks, I'd appreciate any advice.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSupplement Forms for G-325A and I-129F

There are a few boxes on the forms that I need to include more information than fits in the space. When I use a supplement form, should I only include one question on each page? Or can I write the name of the form at the top ("Supplement for form G-325A") and list all the questions and answers that I need to include information for below? Yes

Also, I could fit my fiancé's address in the space provided, but they don't write their addresses in the format on the form, so I thought it would be better to refer to the supplement form where I can write it correctly. Is this advisable or not? Shouldn't be a problem.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLetter of intent-"filing address"?

I live in Michigan, cant find which service center our filing of K-1 visa forms will go to and they ask for this on letter of intent?Anyone know?Thanks-paulnjessa

Address it to the Dallas, TX lockbox. The address is of little actual consequence, the submission of a signed, original letter of intent from the petitioner and one from the recipient is a K-1 visa requirement. Additionally, you will be submitting your petition and paperwork to the Dallas, TX (Lewisville) lockbox, NOT the Texas Service Center.

Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetitioner present at cosulate interview!

Is it necessary for the petitioner to be present at the day of the interview? For K1 Visa, or are we getting interviewed when my fiancee arrives to the USA? I have read some other links stating petitioner weren't needed at interview??

Depends on the instructions/requirements of the interviewing embassy/consulate. Some foreign posts require attendance, some don't. Some allow attendance, some don't. The K-1 visa interview will be at the interviewing embassy/consulate, the visa approval/issuance often depends on it. At the very least, the moral support provided by the presence of the petitioner for your fiancé(e) is likely priceless.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp Me Understand the K1 Processing Times

Hi Everyone:

I called the UCSIS customer service today and inquired about the K1 Fiancee Visa processing times and thus became even more confused at the moment.. The woman indicated that the processing times for when I submitted in late January is July 18th, 2013. When I entered this information on their website, it shows 7.5 months now. Which is the correct date to get the NOA2? How long does it take afterwards for final approval form the consulate?

My fiancee is coming to the States in late May and I will be visiting her in July. We thought we had everything timed perfectly in terms of vacation time, etc and that everything would be completed no later than August, 2013.

Finally, what are people's thoughts on this idea. My fiancee is contimplating quitting her job and giving up her apartment in either August or September and coming here to stay with me on a 3 month holiday visa. Thus, it would allow her to stay here with me until December 1st. If we were approved during those three months while she was on holiday, she could fly back, complete the paperwork, stay at her parents house and then once approved, fly back here. Overall, it would be 10 months or so, since the K1 visa was submitted. Does this sound possible or too risky? Thoughts? Thank you for your responses!

Welcome to the forum.

Take a look at the K-1 flow chart to get a "very fluid" idea of processing times. I say "very fluid" because there are so many variables that can, and do, affect the processing times. Trying to plan anything with these very fluid processing times and variables is next to impossible. Look at our timeline, getting our K-1/K-2 visas was basically an eight-month process. However, since then the service centers have been inundated with more work and no concomitant increase in adjudicators, resulting in very extended processing times for everything, including K-1 petitions (NOA2).

Just a thought, but you may be better off getting married and filing for a spouse visa.

Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA1 date

Hello everyone.

What is the valid NOA1 date, the Receipt date or the Notice Date?
I would guess it's the notice date, but I want to be sure.
Both dates are indicated in the I-797C form, but it is the receipt date that is referenced in the USCIS Case Status.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

From the VJ Wiki:

"Notice of Action (NOA)
(Redirected from NOA1)
Summary

A Notice of Action (NOA) form (I-797 Form) is a printed form that the USCIS creates to document certain "processing" milestones on petitions. Typically an NOA form is printed when a petition is entered into the USCIS system (after being received) and again when the petition has been processed and a final decision reached. The USCIS will mail the NOA to your place of residence (listed on your petition). It may take a week for the NOA to reach you via the US Postal Service.

Frequently used terms

NOA1: Typically refers to the NOA printed when a petition is first received by the USCIS
NOA2: Typically refers to the NOA printed when a petition has been processed and a final decision has been made

Notice of Action Form Information

Notice of Action Forms contain very useful bits of information. NOA1's print the received date (the date your petition was received in the mail and entered into the system) and the NOA date (the date the NOA was printed). NOA2's contain the initial received date of the petition as well as the NOA date which indicates the date your application was adjudicated."

Become acquainted with the GUIDES, lots of great information.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 visa Police reports (for those who have a Chinese beneficiary)

This is for those who have filed a K-1 visa for a beneficiary who is from China...a question about the police reports that is needed for the visa interview.

As all who live, have lived, or have been to China may know, getting proper documents from your local government or police stations is almost an impossible feat (unless you have connections and/or money of course). Since my fiancee has neither of those, we are worried about getting these police reports from the police stations. My question is, what reports are these? Is there something that USCIS supplies for us that is good in all countries? Or do we have to just get a basic form signed and stamped by the police station?

What information does the report need to have on there that is acceptable for the interview?

Also, my fiancee lives in the city, but her Hu Kou is from her small hometown and she has no residence in the city. Would I need to get a police report from from the area where she lives in the city too, even though they have no evidence of her living there? I only ask this because I put on the initial K-1 visa application form that her address is in this city.

PLEASE HELP!! WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!
Thank you in advance

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp! I-134 for fiance visa?

I am about to file for a fiance visa and I have just finished a very expensive vacation visiting each other which has put my bank account temporarily in the red. I work two full time jobs and make roughly 50-60,000 a year but my bank account is often empty and I rent an apartment and have no assets other than my car. I did not know I had to provide this information, I thought I just needed to file I-129F and the G-325. I read that I have to have my employer write a letter too? I don't want my employer in my personal business! And my bank account is going to reveal that I live pay check to pay check. I'm spending a lot of money taking care of debt and paying for my fiances living expenses abroad and have no money to save. I'm so disturbed that I have to file this form. Can some one please help me understand whether I am over reacting or this is going to be a big red flag in my application. I thought I just needed to verify I have a job paying more than 20,000 a year. Not that I have assets and money in the bank.

Welcome to the forum.

It is actually very simple. If you don't want to play USCIS's game, then don't. If you want to legally get your foreign fiance(e) into the US, marry, and get on with your lives, then you will have to play USCIS's game by their rules/regulations/instructions. The choice is yours.

Good luck.
