I've been over the guide a billion times and still going over it again but also want to get confirmation that I'm tracking.       Checklist: wait 2 weeks, apply for SSN (for both K1 AND K2?) As others have said, K2 needs EAD or GC to obtain SSN. Apply for marriage license together Set marriage appointment Get married File for AOS (K1 and K2) & EAD; and maybe AP May as well get the combo card (EAD/AP) for both K1 and K2 the cost is the same. The joint fees for K1 and K2 AOS can also be expensive, not to mention the associated costs (medical, copying, photos, etc.) ROC Application window for that is a ways down the road, opens up ~3 months before the expiration of 2-year conditional GC.       Health Insurance:   What do I do? Looks like insurance from work won't cover them until I marry her and adopt him. I've never had to seek health insurance as I've worked pretty much all my life. Contact a provider directly or go through Health Connector/Obamacare? BTW that family coverage cost is a killer......man. Yep, health insurance costs can take your breath away, found that out two years ago. I added my wife to my work plan after marriage. I went online and purchased a catastrophic health care plan (i.e., $1000 deductible) w/ dental for stepson for about $150/month. Check around for deals. YMMV.   Good luck on your immigration journey.
