Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Girlfriend given 221G at visa interview - confused
QUOTE (Gage @ Jul 12 2008, 12:33 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This forum seems to be mostly for immigration visa questions, but I think my question might have some relevance even though it is about a B-2 tourist visa. My girlfriend recently had her interview at the US Consulate for her B-2 application (Moscow). She said the interview only lasted barely 5 minutes, then the Consular officer told her "that due to part 221(g)," she had to submit a DS-157 supplemental application. She has submitted this paperwork already, but was told it would take a minimum of 3 weeks for the additional "administrative process" to find out if her visa was approved. They kept her passport, which the people standing near her was a good sign, because if they intended to automatically refuse her, they would have just given it back to her.

So what I'm asking is; does this request for further information mean that she's still got a good chance of approval? The problem is that her tickets to come here are right near that 3 week window, so I don't know if it's possible it could take a shorter period of time, or if we should consider changing her tickets to a later date now. Any advice?

Thanks for the reply, Haole. I'm not too worried about the tickets, they are easily changed without penalty. But just knowing whether to go through the hassle of making the change or not is what has me frustrated.

USCIS Service CentersWhere do I send my application?
First off, I live in Washington State. One place I looked said that I would send to the Nebraska Service Center. I am filing the I-129F petition for alien fiance, so I saw something on the USCIS website that said, regardless of where you live, you'd file at the California Service Center.
Can anyone tell me where things are supposed to be sent?

Thanks smile.gif

United KingdomVisiting while K1 started
My fiance and I are getting ready to book him a ticket to come here in December. We're kind of nervous about the whole situation as well. His POE will be Seattle. We're hoping that the documents from his work will be enough and that there won't be too many questions. We're having Human Resources at his job, as well as his direct supervisor both write letters stating that he will be coming back to work.
We have already received Packet 3, so are a little further than you. We're hoping that they don't honestly think we would have gone through all of this incredibly hard work, just to blow it all at the last moment!
Good luck!

United KingdomLondon Medical Exam!
Just wanted to let everyone know that Matt has his medical exam in London on Thursday the 12th. He's pretty nervous, even though he has no reason to be. But, I get it's all a little overwhelming. Just asking for your well wishes all! We're nearly to the interview stage!

United KingdomInterview Letter
I know someone has probably already posted this somewhere, but I'm having a hard time finding it...

My fiance and I sent in his IV-15K in the middle of December. We have still yet to receive a letter regarding his interview date. What are people's average wait times from the point where the letter is sent to the time that the appointment letter is received? I'm just concerned that we might be missing out on some deadline or some other thing.
Thanks in advance :)

Hey all, and Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had our interview Sept 13th for k-1 visa. He got the 221G form and our papers are still in Casablanca. Now I have emailed them, called NVC and Washington i guess DOS several times about this. They say papers are still in Administrative Processing. Now how much processing can they do???????????? wacko.gif If they are going to send the papers back, SEND THEM BACKKKKKKKKKKK. So we can do what we have to to with USCIS so he can get his visa.

What does anyone think about this? Doesn't the petition expire after a certain length of time? I am going nuts with this
and can't get any answers. The person in Washington says there is nothing more I can do, but the papers could go either way. helpsmilie.gif helpsmilie.gif

Any input is grealy appreciated.

hi yes my fiance is haveing the same trouble. his interview was oct 15th 3 months ago.I have emailed casa 3 times now and they also say that it is still in Adminiatrative Processing. sad.gif but i will keep emailing them until we know something
