Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion4 year journey at an end
As you can see from my signature, our long journey has finally come to an end. A little over 4 years after meeting, we have our 10 year GC in hand. Just over 3 years from first filing for K-1. We filed as early as possible at every milepost and lucked out at every turn it seemed. Not a single hiccup the entire way except one lost letter that temporarily extended her GC. We had to get another copy so we could travel.

I know the journey is a lot more of a headache for others and I realize how much good fortune we've had. Everyone here has been great with advice along the way! We'll be married for three years this summer and we have a beautiful daughter who is almost two years old. It doesn't get much better!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRFE and address change

What did you submit?

Submitted id's and permanent resident card, letters showing health, dental, home owners, car insurance policies.Copies of insurance cards with both our names on it, 3 different companies since our insurance kept getting changed. Leases from two places we rented. Bank statements from 2008-2011 from 2 banks and one credit union. Joint tax returns (no w2's though), Util bills, 1 page picture collage (probably didn't even need this). We don't use credit cards, no loans or leases for anything so didn't send anything like that. It was a nice sized packet though.

Everything was a cakewalk till this. They even lost all our paperwork at our k-1 interview and they were able to reconstruct things on the spot by using the NOAs and that went without any hassle.

Send it to CSC with a letter explaining your situation, sending to VSC would have caused delay as your case is being dealt with CSC. hopefully it will be completed by CSC and card sent to new address.

That is what I was initially thinking. I just remembered that they send the notice after you change your address, so at least that will give me some assurance that the address is changed and hopefully all the notices go to the correct one.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRFE and address change
I have a concern. We just got an RFE today for my removal of conditions filed. It was pretty vague and pretty much lists everything I already submitted. I am just going to submit the same things and add some letters from friends and family. Also have some letters from previous landlords which say we lived together and the dates we lived at the residences.

Now my one worry is that we are in the process of relocating from Washington State to NYC. I just had my last day at work and going to be driving there on Monday with my Dog and my wife has been there working at her new job for the last 3 weeks.

Where do I send the RFE? should I send it to the California Service center it told me to send it to? Will it cause any confusion after I get there and do my address change with the USCIS which I'm required to do within 10 days of moving? I'm thinking they will just move my stuff to the Vermont center but don't want them to lose my RFE materials. Arrg! Any suggestions or thoughts?

Got my biometrics done yesterday - and as I already expected: getting there through traffic was the hardest part...

I was chatting with the lady who took my fingerprints, turned out both our husbands are stationed in Ft. Lewis and both are getting ready to deploy... so she told me if I should be called in for an interview to just come by myself and bring my husbands military orders to deploy to Iraq and not to postpone the interview until he gets back. I am glad I found this out, I didn't know that and therefore would have cancelled and rescheduled a possible interview.

Hey there Liebi, glad the Seattle office was good to you. Was the gal doing the biometrics Filipino? Nice of her to give you some advice in case of interview, hopefully you won't need it though! Good luck! good.gif

Had my biometrics appointment today. The two people working there (the guy doing the biometrics and the woman checking everyone in) were clearly in the middle of a blazing row (involving much yelling at each other, storming off and door-slamming!), so the 5 or 6 of us who were in the waiting room were shuffling around awkwardly giving each other "uh-oh!" looks. unsure.gif Biometrics guy was very nice to me, though, and I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes.

Nothing else to report, but thought I'd post to bump the thread! smile.gif

All right! Another step in the right direction. Glad it went smoothly and you got a little show on the side. wink.gif

I don't live far from Seattle, so I think I will try to just get out of the city as fast as possible (my appointment is in the afternoon) before I get caught in that horrible traffic on the 5!

Loading up the whole crew, heading to Seattle tomorrow for biometrics! After going out to eat at Bahama Breeze! star_smile.gif

I am curious, since I will have to go to the same office next week - how did it go, ready4ONE?
Fast? Slow? How about the parking?

Hi Liebi, it went well. Parking is no problem, just remember you will need $6 cash for the parking lot, they don't take checks or any other form of payment. We got there just before our appointment time of 1 pm, parked, and got through security fairly quickly. Waited in line just a little bit before getting to go back to the biometric room. No pens to fill out the form! Grrrrr! But we wound up having the time to finally get a hold of one. All in all, it took us just under an hour to get in and out. The gal who did my wife's biometrics was also from the PI, so they got to gab a bit about home. laughing.gif When we left, a huge crowd had gathered outside waiting for entry, not sure what was going on, something big in their auditorium it appeared.

They gave her appointment slip the appropriate stamp, and my wife was very happy with the treatment. Just remember bring the $6 in cash, and bring a pen yourself.

Kind of funny, my older kids were watching TV to pass the time, and at the end, the show was interrupted by a Dish Network message to pay the bill or they would lose their satellite service. Had a good laugh with one of the workers about that, he said the government never pays its bills. rofl.gif

We turned the whole day into a family fun adventure, stopping at #######'s for burgers on the way down, then going to Family Fun Center and out to eat at Bahama Breeze in Tukwila since we were already there. Then on the drive home, a stop at Ranch 99 to stock up on Asian goodies, most especially stocking up on our ever vanishing supply of longanisa sausages. [Highly recommended!] biggrin.gif

A quick question, let me know what you guys think, please.
My Bio app is scheduled for Monday the 6th, I haven't received a cancellation/rescheduled letter for my appointment, but do you think they will turn me away when I go on Monday as they have cancelled some for the 6th and if they are updating there systems from the 7th, do you think it includeds the 6th as well, and I should just do a walk in tomorrow?
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks for your help in advance.

If you did not get a cancellation notice, then you should go at the time specified in your notice.

We didn't get canceled, and are set to go on the 7th, and would go anyway even if we got a last minute cancellation.

Par for the USCIS course, online access is schizophrenic, inaccurate and unreliable when allegedly working anyway!

Good to see that biometrics are beginning to trickle in, at least for VSC May filers, hopefully the guy in the mail room with the massive Quaalude problem finally accidentally got going on the CSC biometric letters. whistling.gif

still no noah but apparently noah is lost in mail they mailed it out in May so I went and got stamped instead and supposedly they mailed out biometrics 6/16/09 not got it yet though

That is where I am becoming concerned. If you get anxious, and say so here about the delay, folks jump down your throat with "Be patient, it just takes time!"

But, as in your case flutter, USCIS alleges they already issued and mailed both the NOA1 and Biometrics appointment letter. So being patient, in your situation becomes a dangerous thing!

When we first filed the I-751 I was brimming with patience and felt this stage was the easiest yet... NOPE!

I read your thread about getting the stamp, good idea, and obviously necessary given your 2 yr green card expiring, but very scary in the sense that USCIS is telling you they don't know why you didn't get two very important pieces of mail. wacko.gif

Congratulations to elmcitymaven on the rapid catch up! Wow! NOA1 and biometrics! Cool beans! good.gif Congrats on the biometric appointment Lisa! Those have been slow in coming for us May filers! good.gif

Good call on the infopass and stamp flutter, wondering if we will need to go there ourselves. The angst of trying to be patient, but also wondering, what is going on! Ugh! wacko.gif

Welcome to the club elwintro! star_smile.gif

Hi all,

After two years, we are back!:) It is really good to see some familiar names again.

Good luck to everyone.

Celikkanat

Welcome back celikkanat! Feel free to add yourself to the May filing list if you sent your removal of conditions in May. And also there are larger USC and VSC filing lists which you might also add yourself to.

Yes that is another reason for you to be very happy right now, VSC's reputation precedes it as being the slowest of the two processing centers. Great to see they are doing a great job at least for your case. Perhaps May will be an efficient month for VSC for all your fellow May VSC filers! We can hope! yes.gif
