What a way to start the month and I want an early birthday present!!! Come on VSC!!!

Has anyone gone ahead and filed the DHS Form 7001? They say to send this in if you are experiencing process delays that extend past what they promote.

Well I just got off the phone with "customer service and was told that I have to wait 17 more days before they will do a service request for me because they are process petitions from May 19 so mine is stll within there service time.....You see the 6 month on the website is the time frame they pull out of their ###*s when they feel like screwing with people's lives.....This little person reallt pissed me off today....so I asked her if Margaret #***** was lying to me on Friday or is she today....and get this she told me that the processing date could of backed up so if I could of filed on Friday then they could of processed it then but I was one day shy of 6 months but today my petition is within there processing time......but her is the kicker....If 17 days from now they are only processing say May 25 then I will have to wait 10 more days......so the 6 months is a joke......I hate them......

blink.gif WOW, that's a whole nother level bullshlit. Guess they will have to be forced by a congressperson, lawyer, etc to act mad.gif

I sent in the case details to ACLU so I hope to talk to someone tomorrow.......I am so very upset tonight.......this is so unfair........I have no idea want is the problem with our petitions.......It is pretty straight forward....He has never been married...I have never been in trouble ....I have been married once and divorced and we have been together 6 times for a total of 14 weeks in 2 years......so what is the problem?????

I was just put in contact with the local immigration office by the customer service at USCIS....I called again asking about the May 24 versus the May 17 dates and changes......she was so unable to help me she sent me to Fairfax, virginia Immmigration office and I got an appointment for December 17 at 1100 am.......the lady was nice enough but said she would be able to open the file to see where it is....but that will be 217 days into the processing......It is a joke but I took the appointment just in case

How about personal injury???? Seems we're suffering a great deal of that...

Well the ACLU is not my favorite organization but I feel discriminated against......I am thinking around the lines of that or due process or infringing on my rights as an American citizen being violated.....I am not the lawyer but they are taking down my information

I have a call in to an Immigration attorney who spent 12 years as an adjudications officer.... http://www.us-immigr...n-attorney.com/

What do these (highlighted) words mean?

I have a question please, if you don't mind... do American men refer to their American wives as "their AMERICAN"? "Your American"? "His American"? "The American"? And vice versa? Why is it, the Pinay has to be referred as "My" or "His" Pinay? Is it difficult to say "my" / "his" fiancee and or "my" / "his" wife? I'm guessing you are trying to be complimentary but, your "the/his pinay" comments make me wonder and ask myself...do you think we Pinays are human or.. an object.

If you can refer to your own fiancee as "my fiancee"... why can't you do the same to others'? What is the difference between "your" Pinay fiancee and other American's Pinay fiancee?

Again, I am happy (F) because my husband has never referred to me as 'His Pinay". He's indeed one of a kind! (L) ;)

hmmm generally speaking, you're right. but there are times when calling your wife/fiancee by her country name is actually funny. well....i seriously find it funny when my fiance calls me "his crazy romanian wife" or "crazy white woman" LMAO. he did then when talking to my mom and i found it funny as hell, not a bit rude or insulting

I. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

7. NBI CLEARANCE. Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance for Travel Abroad Purposes from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used, including different spellings you have used of those names. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year from the date it was issued. The NBI web site is http://www.nbi.gov.ph.
8. OTHER COUNTRY POLICE CERTIFICATES. Applicants aged 16 years and older must also present police certificates from other countries where they have lived for one (1) year or more after reaching the age of 16. As with NBI clearances, foreign police certificates should be obtained in any maiden names, aliases or nicknames used while in the country in question, including different spellings you have used of those names. Country-specific information on how to secure police certificates is available on the State Department’s web site at http://travel.state....ocity_3272.html.

This may help!
Here is where we messed up, she had worked in Bahrain and they wanted a police background clearance from Bahrain CID, this took until September, it was a disaster, we had just had a child and she couldn't get the clearance, I called CID we sent them requests, and got nothing. We finally contacted the Philippine embassy in Bahrain, and they fixed it.

That is correct.. you will need to Get NBI clearance and Police Certificate from the country-or province you lived in about a year..for example you get an NBI from Manila and a Police Clearance in Cebu...

Philippinesvisa approved
FYI

We passed our K-1 VISA interview on 27 June and 2GO just tried to deliver the VISA packet today (13 Jul). Will be delivered on 14 Jul. Long time to process a VISA with no difficulties, no RFE...easy approval

We did call the Embassy on Friday and they said its in the processing spool.

We called on Monday and they said it was printed on Friday.

We didn't receive the email notice from the embassy about it being shipped via 2go

2Go never sent a notice that they have received the VISA packet and were going to deliver.

Fiancee had a letter to authorize other family members to sign for VISA packet, but she didnt hand it to family for we didnt know the packet was enroute for delivery.

so the short of the long story is it took 11 working days to finally receive info that our VISA packet was being delivered. If your VISA packet is taking time dont sweat the bullets ...it will come.

The +63 02 301 2000 for the embassy seems the best number to call for VISA packet info. You can even ask if your VISA has been printed and that means it will soon be on its way

PhilippinesQuestion for Filipinas living on the East Coast
Hey lets add to this discussion ways to communicate back home.

My Honey just received her VISA packet today so all of these are on my mind

She will be getting an International Drivers License so she can drive as soon as she gets here (I will have a few quick driver lessons : ) ) and while she awaits her DMV process. This way she has the freedom to get out of the house.

I checked with Disnetwork and I can subscibe to Filipina Channels which is great too

But unfortunately Vonage doesn't cover the Philippines in their one rate international program : (

Calling cards can be expensive I'm thinking.

what about Magic Jack? Has anyone tried getting a local number for Magic Jack in the USA where they live and then ship the jack over to their relatives in the Philippines and a phone connected to the Magic Jack would allow your family back home to talk to you as if it was a local call and you can call them on the magic jack phone as a local call. Has anyone tried this??

PhilippinesWhy do Filipinos don't greet each other?
As I say to my Fiancee, lets take the best of both cultures and make them our own. I have found the culture in the Philippines to be very warm and welcoming. I have been to places in America where I found the same. I have been to places in America to where you minded your own business and said very little. There is one culture difference I noticed I was doing that my Fiancee questioned me about soon after my first visit. If I was passing thru a crowded store and passing close to people I would say "excuse me" if I was passing them. My Fiancee noticed it and asked why? I explained that in the USA, things are more spread out and so we have a cultural personal space around each of us so its considered polite to say "excuse me" when passing through someone else's personal space. In big cities the personal space is much smaller and you don't really see this curtesy. The funny thing is while I was writing this I had a similar analogy for driving too...lol I love the beauty and the warmth of the Filipina culture.

Think about that logic. Why would a law abiding citizen have to carry with them, identification at all times and be subject to imprisonment for not doing so? Do you think the Founding Fathers envisioned a free country like that?

As for where to find it in the Constitution - my friend, if you think every right of yours if spelled out verbatim in the Constitution, I've got some moon cheese I'd like to sell you. See below:

http://flexyourrights.org/faq

Actually, every civil liberty guaranteed to me as a US citizen is in the Constitution; and if something is not than it is guaranteed to the states and the people. And they did have papers back then--it was reference most likely to financial papers (for verification and duties to the King--relevant to their time) and later on to verify status of a slaves freedom, and in some cases "green card", yep they need probably cause or warrant to search your papers. Which isn't a bad thing.

Can you explain to me in a scholarly way - my friend. Why they can require a permit or license to carry a fire arm but they somehow can't require a National ID Card. Without bringing "search and seizure" into it because I understand the amendments meaning without probably cause or warrant.

As far as the web-link you utilized as a reference does acurately reflect the amandement; but the copy of the organizations take on the article itself is from a partisan non-profit group, the same group that called for repealing the law that prohibited giving government grants to people who were convicted drug offenders. Research your sources.

I have read and believe everything in the Constitution is relavant and can be applied in today's society. Would it be written differently if we had just claimed and won our independence from England? Well of course it would--its simplicity was reflective of the type of government the forfathers envisioned. I have read it numerous times, and everyone seems to have their own interpertation of it. I am lucky and grateful that I enjoy the rights it offers; and I try to value everyones opinion and that is why I volunteered to serve, and have been involved in three wars and various other incidents, specifically to ultimately protect the Constitution and those that spend countless hours of their lives trying interpet it and make sense of it, protecting those that want to twist it, change it, and protecting those that have never read it.

PhilippinesFilipinos Against Arizona Immigration Law SB1070

US Citizens are protected by our beloved U.S. Constitution from having to carry papers with us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to prove to local law enforcement that we are here legally should they ever question our legal status. So when a draconian law such as SB1070 tries to circumvent our constitutional rights by giving authority to local law enforcement to ask for papers from anyone they suspect (including U.S. Citizens) and then detaining them without bail, indefinitely until USCIS clears the suspect, those who love the U.S. Constitution will stand up and challenge such draconian measures.

This is a victory for our beloved Constitution. All Americans should be proud that our civil rights prevailed.

Where in the constitution does it protect us from having to carry papers. I see where it protects us from anyone searching our 'papers' without warrant or probably cause.

If I have a weapon of certain type in certain states -- I must have a permit -- no problem with that. It says I have the right to bear arms; it doesn't prevent the federal or state government from requiring a permit to carry that weapon. Some municipalities have no gun at all laws -- direct violation of the Constitution -- Obama tries not to fight those laws though.

Stand up for the whole thing and just don't lay down for the Articles and protection you like.

The government in the Constitution has the right to set laws and rules in regard to the 'naturalization' process--no where in the Constitution is governing 'immigration' guaranteed to the Federal Government. Thru history it has been considered an inherent right of the government to do so. One part of the design about the Constitution was its design to take 'inherent' rights of government away from a tryant or king giving the people their rights and detail what rights the people give back to their United States Government.

Best thing that could happen is for the federal government to recognize states rights to control immigration (since its not guaranteed to the government--FACT--in the Constitution) and if California wants to allow illegal immigrants in then let them if Arizona doesnt than let them make their own laws. Also, cut all federal funding for schools, colleges, and employers in states that allow illegal immigrants. My son can't get a Pell Grant and paid for his school but his friend received 100% federal Pell grant and is in fact here illegally... that is just sickening.

PhilippinesFilipinos Against Arizona Immigration Law SB1070
Every group that has come to the US has suffered some sort of civil rights violation. The Irish use to sleep in sewers in NYC and Boston when they first arrived because they were not allowed to have homes rented to them is one example. Blacks actually had a home albiet small but lived better than the Irish for years. The Swedes couldn't work in the quarries because the Finns wouldn't hire them. Its a sad fact but it is just something that naturally occurs when mixing cultures and people.

Racial profiling to prevent illegal immigration? Is it that wrong? Your required to carry your ID by law if you don't have it go get it. A few accidental deportations and people will start carrying what they are suppose to.
