When I joined VJ, there were folks from the Texas Service Center waiting years. It was so bad that they formed a protest march outside in the TSC hoping for news coverage to embarrass the Immigration Service (INS back then).

I would think that if adjudicators are out on leave they would transfer their cases to someone who was actually there working. It does not make any sense that they would keep some people in limbo while letting others get by wacko.gif

At least you know it is with an adjudicator Lora. Hopefully it means that your approval is coming soon.


We're gonna get it! (before Christmas!!.. i can dream. i just really don't want to go to yet another family gathering having to say I don't know. Thanksgiving was bad enough) I'm just trying to keep myself distracted. I've been getting into the Christmas spirit and santa-ing and baking and keeping busy. It'll be here one day!

I know....I am trying to think that way........but positive is hard with these waits....193 days is a long time with not a peep from them......

When I called yesterday, i just punched the numbers in for the RFE trick and a recorded voice came on and said (we are now tranfering you to an officer in Vermont) click, then a short pause, probably 30 seconds, then a lady came on the line. I would not let them transfer you to cust. service. You are going to get nowhere with them. Keep trying until the live person comes on the line using the RFE trick. I think you are going to have better luck there.

Hey Lora, let me know if u are able to change his address that way. My SO also moved and from what I read on some threads u have to wait til case is at NVC and call them to change it ...

Anywhooo, I don't think they forgot us, they just don't give a hoot that they are going out of order. They found mine when mine when my senator's staffer called, it's just Officer Molasses is taking his sweet time getting to it. I'm thinking slowpoke will finish ours in the next two weeks whistling.gif



I will.......I am planning on calling first thing in the morning and trying to control myself but I have been told 3 times that mhy petition is with someone first assigned November 1 then found and assigned November 18....then assigned again November 28....so I do not believe them at all......well the problem with the next two weeks is that Christmas is coming and no one is working.....time off with there "loved ones"...too bad I do not get that same option....and many others of us either.....Oh well...life goes on huh....... whistling.gif

I just got off the phone with the USCIS because i needed to make an address change for my fiancee. i did the RFE trick and it transferred me to an officer at Vermont!!! i made my change (she also told me to check with the NVC to make sure the change sticks) and chit chatted with the lady (very nice) and she confirmed that her processing report says that they are currently working Late june/early july petitions now. I also just got off the phone with the NVC 9the USCIS told me I should call them after my approval to make sure the change gets recorded because they are the ones setting up all that kind of stuff for the consulate) I wanted to find out how much time I would have once my approval came thru to talk to them about the change of address. She told me I needed to be ON THE STICK. She said that they are turning out all K1's in a matter of days and I needed to get with them as soon as I knew about the approval or it would be too late. This pretty much confirms what we already know about their processing times.

Hey, Lora there was an approval for a june 10 filer last day or so. Maybe they are almost to the bottom of the crate whistling.gif
I feel worse for Mel and Syl, they kept saying by tomorrow, by tomorrow and that was weeks ago! Sheesh, have a little consideration ...?



Well they have been processing May 19th for 4 weeks now according to them so obviously they do not understand calenders at all...hey by the way I was told today that many of the case workers are taking long vacations now so our wait may be a "little" longer....wow the holiday's with there SO's what a nice thought....think we all may have liked that......

Oh I have called and written......congressman Senator's, omsbudsman, congressional liasons, newspapers, called t.v. stations and even went to the Department of homeland security and tried to make an appointment..........what everyone said is the same.....they answer to no one......When I called after I past my 180 days and 6 calender months I was told they are processing May 19......on November 14 was told they were processing May 24th...they went backwards so I am within there processing times.....which is not 6 months it is whatever they feel like......It sucks being in this situation with no recourse........I hope this does not happen to anyone else because this is killing me.........

My congresswoman's staffer has been nice but not willing to go beyond "protocals" and so she says that we must wait until the end of this month do "take the next step" - whatever that is. My two senators have not gotten back to me for over a week now since I first wrote them. I am begining to believe that we are hostages to the system. Learned helplessness? Perhaps so.

On the bright side, I finally received a touch this evening at about 5 p.m. EST. When I checked the screen for the 10,000th time today my eyes almost fell out of my head when I finally saw a change. I am very p!ss@d off that I am still waiting but it is nice to know that there is some movement over there. I still cannot believe that the USCIS is working on July when there are filers like us still out here. I truly hope that we are in the same crate so that you can get at least a bit of relief as well.

I cringe when I think that we will have to deal with these bozos again down the road. I am not going to let up on my congressional officials until they lift the cover on this debacle.

Great I hope you get your approval from the touch....I have looked at 6/10/07 date as the last update for so long that it is seared into my retina.....I probable will see it for the rest of my life.....I am pushing big time for a Congressional hearing using the theme of....this is where most of your constituents are asking for your help and ithere are a lot more of me coming along so for your own workload and sanity it will behove you to force them to explain an change because this will not change unless you force them to do it.....I want to see them sit in front of me and tell me how this is a fair system and how customer friendly they are........there is absolutely no excuse from this wait and there ineptness......I hope Mr Gonzalez looses his job........that at this point is the only thing that I think will make this thing change.......you know sh** rolls downhill........

Now it's like open ended and there is no help even like from this staffer. It's like the twilight zone or '1984' with the VSC speak - you're in our commit timeframe even after 6 months cause we're processing only May 19 or was it April 22 even though website says 6 months and we are approving late july.

I asked my congressional representative for assistance and his staffer returned me a nice letter that said it had been given to an officer the previous day. I had called a few days before, and they had told me it had been assigned to an officer (some unspecified time previously). I pointed this out to the staffer in my return email but recieved no response to that point. But the general idea was, its with an officer, you're just going to have to wait. They also let me know that if I haven't heard by THE NEW YEAR i was more than welcome to submit my query again. So, that was no help whatsoever.

One of my senator's website has posted the following:

Unfortunately, USCIS is experiencing a large influx of applications and is therefore
unable to respond immediately to our inquiries. Please allow 12 weeks for
processing. We will notify you by letter or telephone as soon as we receive
a response from USCIS. I thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.

They also require that you present your plea via SNAIL MAIL (seriously not even a fax). jest.gif

I'm going to wait until 180 days before I go to my other senator. Maybe a presidential hopeful will think of constituent assistance a good motive at the polls?

Until I hear, or until 180 days I'm just going to continue taking my frustration out on kneeding bread and christmas music.



Well I did go to both Sentators and my Congressman and was told 1....my petition was assigned to an officer.....Nov 1....then I was told they found my petition and a supervisor was going to do it...then I was told my petition was assigned to an officer Nov. 27...then I was told they can do nothing else until 207 days have past unless they change the date of processing back again at which time I would have to wait some more..............because I would not be outside of there service times.........It is all bullsh*t

I would love to see the Customer disservice reps face when you told them to do that....hahahahahahahaha

A funny thing happened on the way to the embassy........they sent only half of the info.........and instead of sending the other half down they had to send the other half up to be reassembled and send it back.......I guess that is why I have NO warm fuzzies or good feelings these days......The embassy in Lima has been great but they told me they could not accept an incomplete or 1/2 of a packet.......Luckily they called NVC and it was located quickily but it is yet another delay in this process from hell......It still has not left NVC for the second time.....I can not get an explaination as to why but it is still sitting.....at least complete now......in New Hampshire I hope not gathering dust again.......I call every day and they are all so nice but it is just a kinder version of USCIS to me at this point.....No info....no reason.....just check back in a couple of days......OMG I just want to choke something.........So you can see this is why I am in such a horrific mood

Hey TBobeTx....well went to the immigration office here and they sent me away because they do not research pending cases......so at 198 days today....nothing, nada, nil and of course USCIS has not changed there processing times because they do not want to hear from us either.......and yesterday the VSC approved someone who was filed August 30th......Talk about a kick in the teeth....I just flat out hate the b*stards.....I am not normally foul but I am at the end of my rope and no one is holding the other end......Lora

For the first time in my life, i feel i am living joseph heller's catch-22.




Can you call it the Over 180 crowd......because many of us like me are at 193........and there is a crowd of us........from both centers......I am telling you for sure that the ACLU is the only recourse here....and I can not stand them but they are at least talking to me.......Sue my own government wow it is like suing yourself.....crazy.....Lora

Hey TxTbone I wanted to let you know that I finally after 193 days got to speak to someone at the VSC.....a real live body.........

O.K........I just talk to a NICE lady at VSC.....she said the petition has been with a case wroker since November 1.......and was then transfered on November 17 to someone else......and it has been with them ever since.....she said she was unsure why it still has not been worker on......I told her it appeared that they were working cases in July and she would send a note to the floor to ask but was not able to report her response from them but she said it may stimulate something......she said about 1/3 of the case workers are OUT OF THE OFFICE on leave this time of year but she does see I am outside of the service target goal........but??????....................nothing......well Virgil Ric and I are probably together with a on leave ajudicator...........AUGH......NOW WHAT.......I AM GOING A LITTLE CRAZY.........OOOPs........I do not want to be back in the hospital......I have not had aproblem since I got out of there......so I am trying to only be a little upset........thanks guys....Lora

My lawyer has contacted USCIS to make an inquiry since our application is now 30 days beyond the processing time posted on the USCIS website for CSC.

What is the Ombudsman? Please tell me what you did and I will do it! We had a touch today, but who knows what that is for. Probably because our lawyer called last week. Our file has been in security check for at least 2 months now. Maybe more. Everyone says that there is nothing we can do. I would be grateful for any ideas...

We couldn't stand waiting any longer and I am now in Argentina with Ramiro. We decided to wait together, but its still frustrating to both of us to have our lives on hold (work, school) and to be waiting to start our lives together. Of course, you know what I am talking about

The omsbudsman can be reached on the department of homeland security website.....look under the USCIS section and look under omsbudsman section download the form and fax it in.......Virgil has done the same thing......I worked both Senator's and my Congressman.....they were sick of hearing from me.......I called emailed....called the customer service and directly to Vermont.......what a nightmare......inept is not even strong enough to tell you what I think about them.........I am so glad at least you can be with Ramiro........I found the separation the most difficult......Good Luck....Lora

Do you have the fax number where we can send the ombudsman appeal? All I can find is the mailing address, and as I am in Argentina now it could take quite awhile to get there (or may not get there at all) if I send it by mail. Or do you know where I can search for the fax number?
