Oh my god Sprailenes...
Want me to take that guy down???? And I don't mean in that good way, either !

Freaking hate road bullies -- bullies in general actually. I find that when people are in a car, if they have the propensity to be a jerk, they are more so as hey, they've firmly ensconced in a ton of metal so 'screw you!!'

I am well known not for being a back seat driver but for for being the passenger seat reprimander to drivers behaving badly...
i am good at my job!
wink.gif

QUOTE (Sprailenes @ Oct 21 2009, 08:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
So this morning on the way to work I was driving in front of this blue acura and he was basically up my a$$.. I usually go about 5 over the speed limit, that seems to be the norm but this guy seemed to think I should have been going faster.

Finally we came to this residential intersection that is always confusing... it's a two way stop and every morning people are unsure about when it's their time to turn. I always wait for the person on the other side to give me the signal to make my left turn just because I have seen 3 accidents at this intersection.

Well, this guy didn't like it... and honked his horn continuously. First of all you've been practically bumper to bumper with me all this time and now you're honking at me? Eff you! So I make my turn and he literally just makes his turn too, not waiting at all, just to stay right behind me. I can see the stupid brat laughing in my rearview mirror and still staying really close to me.

So we drove the rest of the way in a 40 mph zone, however because of Mr. Moron behind me I decided it would be best to go about 30 and to brake often and his laughing quickly turned to complete anger and you could see him getting upset. Back off, slow down, stop being a douche wagon on the road.

I freaking hate road bullies.

QUOTE (Rob and Mel @ Oct 20 2009, 12:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Is it possible to have a positive rant? Well, I have one I suppose. I just got off the phone with my health insurance provider. I had called to see if they would cover a Gardisil shot regiment if they say she has to get the whole battery of shots for her AoS. She was against the shots, but didn't want to deal with the extended wait or the added $565 (I believe) cost for the waiver that may or may not be approved, so she got the first shot. I guess i'll find out when we go to get the medical worksheet transcribed by a civil surgeon whether or not she will need to get the rest of the shots. So anyways, I prepared myself for a long protracted fight on the phone as to why they should cover the shot. Before I could get all self-righeous and indignant, the lady on the phone said "Absolutely we cover the shots, we consider that preventative medicine and support all our subscribers in that pursuit. However, we recognize that there is some discussion about the whole test and we also offer counseling to any perspective recipient concerning the drug and anything concerning it".

I know there are loads of people in the same boat as me, but sometimes it's just too brutal.

We've been waiting so long, and especially when we look at other countries - or people who were lucky enough to be living out west (CA USCIS office)...

Just today I saw someone who got their NOA2 in one quarter the time we waited.

CanadaDear Montreal Consulate
I agree. I really don't feel the need to cower down to anyone about my sadness, frustration and ire at having to wait so long for an interview. I've never said anything that could incriminate me as a person or as a visa applicant. I have nothing to hide. My husband and I are two good people, doing good things, being held up by bureaucratic red tape. If they asked me at my interview what I thought of the process -- I would tell them verbatim all of the things I've said here. They are basing my admittance to the US on the information I've given them which proves that I am honest, a good citizen and who I say I am. If they were to judge people or whatnot because we get frustrated and mouthy at how inconsistent and difficult this process can be, then none of us would have our visas.

If they have a message for me -- they can send it along with my interview letter!

Well, that's a toss up, having a baby in the US ain't cheap if you don't have good coverage and now? It is what it is. I would NOT advise going the K3 route - an obsolete visa and way more expensive. It won't take too much longer at all to get a CR1 and it's a far superior/less expensive visa....

CanadaNVC to Interview
Hey Blitz...
This happens to be the hot, burning question of the moment. Awhile back it was taking about 90 days from completion at NVC to interview date NOW? Well, there are still some people from June that don't have an interview yet. There are exceptions of course but all in all that seems to be the case. keep in mind... these times fluctuate and are not consistent. Unfortunately, the Montreal consulate is one of the slowest there is.

LEt's call it best case scenario, between 80 and 90 days from your date of completion. So... if you finish in November maybe February or March? There is still a ton of us now who've finished in June, July, August that have not yet received a date of interview. And we are just on this site, no idea what the numbers might be outside of here.

So, after all that rambling, all I have for you is conjecture but don't plan on anything, don't quit your job or give up your place until you know that you for sure have a date and even then... until you've been approved.

Hope this is a little helpful. The waiting sucks a lot but we'll all be done soon enough.

Good luck blitz and do us a fave? Fill in your timeline? It really helps people to help you and figure out where they sit in this waiting game.

Check out this thread too -- it'll help you figure out an approximate timeline for yourself.

I just remember reading that MOntreal is very slow right now. I've tried to read timelines and see everything from 2 or 3 months to much, much longer! My case will hopefully be complete at NVC in November, and I'm scared I won't have an interview until April or May or later.

Not aimed at anyone here as I am happy to my VJ buddies and Canadians get their interviews but in terms of the CR1s and stuff. what a clusterfvck.

Yeah, I know. sad.gif

Despite the benefits to a CR-1 visa (i.e.: no AOS or I-485 etc.), I'm starting to think we should have pressed with the K-3 instead -- especially since it could have been done through the Vancouver Consulate, as opposed to the Montreal one a few thousand kilometers away.

Well, we play the hand we're dealt, right? It just feels like 7 - 2 offsuit right now. rolleyes.gif

Well, I wish I knew then what I know now! Based only on this site as a reference -- there were only 5 CR1s scheduled -- and they scheduled like 20-21 K1s just from this site alone -- so I'm probably correct in saying that they've probably played catch up with the K1s but... what about us? Especially some CR1s that have been waiting since june? I would like to see them clear us out too but I think it's highly unlikely as most people take their use it or lose it vacation time in December.

Good luck with the letter LGG and friends. Since the consulate is a little over a mile from my place, I'm working on my sandwichlady concept... happy.gif
