K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	How do we File this year's taxes? As single or married?	Question: I am doing my taxes with Turbo Tax. It keeps telling me I need a SS# for my husband.... OK, DUH ! I know.... but as I was going threw all the sections, I find out I can't take the EIC without both of us having a SS#. Is that correct? The tax credit for me means an extra $2000.00 in my refund. I have to file manually this year because I am filing the W-7 with my return . Should I just take the credit and send it in and let them tell me I can't take it? I am soooo confused here. I need to file with my husband because last year I filed head of household . This year I need to give my returns to my attorney . We are filing a waiver and I will need them. Also, Do I need to claim his income in Costa Rica? if so, that is another can of worms... He used remote assistance but when I asked him to fix my iTunes Inever thought it would take 4 hours..... OMG I was falling asleep while he was working away. He wouldn't let me check my mail. I was going through withdrawal. For my FB buds... I started a new topic... Need your opinions. I am sooooo bummed out. Next week needs to be my lucky week. I don't know how long I can hold on anymore ( not like Ihave any other choice) Tucho worked last night and his phone was dead so I didn't even get to talk with him. The USC has to call because you need to send them a release of information. And you have to call the local congressman. Have your husband call the congressman in his area. I had no idea what I was doing when I callled but when you tell them what you want, they know exactly what you are talking about. Tell your husband to give them his e-mail address so they can send him the response that way instead of snail mail. I googled the information and I just made a phone call to my local office. They asked me to fill out a release and I faxed it back. Then they just sent an e-mail to the VSC asking for status. Really never answered my question about filing the waiver now as to not waste time.... GOOD MORNING ALL, I don't know what to think about USCIS. I haven't heard anything about my expedite. I called the USCIS and I made the congresswoman's office inquire again. I have heard NOTHING ! I will be making several phone calls again today.... Thank god today is the 23rd. I went over my minutes this month on my cell phone. Today starts a new month!!! I don't remember talking over 1400 minutes !!! I am also wondering if the internet site was down at all this week. I told him he better call me in Costa Rica if an approval comes threw when I am with my husband. I might not be able to tap into the internet while im there. I'm trying to be hopeful about the waiver. If I can get an expedite I have read where cases were approved in 2 months. But the case gets processed in Honduras. YIKES. its very hard to be positive. Even the taxi drivers outside the airport know me by name. I even got a phone number of one of them. He said to call ahead when I come to Costa Rica. He will make sure he picks me up and takes me right to Fernando's house. Everyone around town knows my deal too. I get the same questions you get. Funny how people think just because you marry a USC you automatically get a green card. What makes me angry is all the illegals that are here. I'm trying to follow the rules and I have to suffer and wait month after month for my husband and these people come here on a visitor visa and just over stay and go about their lives. Do everything I do but don't pay taxes. Their kids go to public school and get free lunches, medical care etc......... and I can't even be with my husband because the paperwork is BS!!!! SO I was asked about 5 times today by various co-workers... When is your husband going to be here? Shouldn't he be here by now? Wow, Isn't there something you can do to speed up the process? BLAH BLAH BLAH And then, I called my husband when I got home from work and he asked me if I called USCIS today.... ( BTW, he was cooking and he asked me why I'm not there to eat with him....how frustrating..... THANKS VSC !!!!) Do people think I am just sitting on my rump doing nothing? So after I listened to everyone talk about what a shame it is that my husband is caught up in the immigration mess.... I decided to call my little friends over at Allyson Schwartz's office. ( Congresswoman) The guy was annoyed that I asked him to inquire about my case AGAIN. His exact words " Didn't I already do that for you once?" OMG #######.. ( I thought to myself) I explained how I requested an expedite and how I am waiting for them to approve it. Well, he changed his tune when he heard the word EXPEDITE. So as I was talking to him on the phone he was typing on his keyboard. He told me he requested status as we were speaking. He said he should hear something within a few days.... So, I made my calls today. Tomorrow Come what may !!!!!! Tomorrow I will call the 800 number. Mostly because I feel like I am doing something instead of just sitting around waiting. I don't think he understands the immigration process and I don't speak enough spanish to really make him understand. He speaks english well, but sometimes there are words he never heard before and it is hard for him to understand. I told him I would call and check on the expedite request today. Today will be 5 days. Technically it ihas been longer but when you factor in the weekend and the holiday and yesterday being a wasted day due to the new President.... UGHHHHHHHHH. Its actually been 10 days since I actually sent the fax with the evidence they requested. I guess if you don't expect anything, you will be surprised when something does happen. I don't understand how the USCIS can be sending multiple letters to the people who are moving to the NVC and not even so much as a TOUCH for the rest of us who are waiting for our NOA2's... let alone an approval. Can they get any more unorganized or ####-backwards? Serendipity, I'm right there with you. I have a nasty cold. I feel disgusting. My kids are sick AND my husband is sick . But I can't be blamed for giving Fernando my cold..... CUZ I'M NOT WITH HIM. ( Thanks USCIS) Funny thing is... I had a flu shot this year. I never get sick but this year I have had 3 bad colds so far..... I blame it on stress and a broken heart I hope the VSC keeps ignorig the box with my file in it. I would hate to have any good news for my husband when I see him next Saturday. He likes waiting just as much as all of us. One more thing I don't understand...The dates for the immigration timelines.... The dates are going backwards. Whats up with that? The I-130/K-3 timeline was at June 18th at one point... K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Vermont Service Center	I don't think it is favortism. I think it just has to do with which employee has which file. I am assuming the files are filed by date received. It is annoying to watch the later filers get approved. But I am happy for them . Our time will come. K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Vermont Service Center	K-3 petitions have approvals with June and July dates. I've even seen a few from August. I'm sure they don't want to update the dates because then they would have a flood of phone calls from people who are out of the date range. If they keep it out dated they can keep telling people the old dates to keep them quiet. It is frustrating for sure.
