I am feeling guilty after reading these posts. We filed only I-130 for cr-1. Our NOA1 was Dec. 24, 2008 and we just recieved our approval Feb. 19, 2009. Sorry for the rant but it irritates the hell out of me. I am asking for some help from someone that reads this. Some people in earlier posts mentioned about shortcuts in NVC proccess. I don't recall seeing or reading about them. Could someone please guide me to where they are? Thanks in advance.

Remember, your priority date changes to the NOA1 for the K-3 when you have both. My CR-1 is out of date range but the K-3 is not. They put in a service request anyway.... so with that said...... When they tell you they can't put a service request in and their computer sytem won't let them... they are full of #######. The first rep I talked to gave me ####### so I hung up on her and called right back. I got what I wanted form the second rep. It all depends on who you get on the phone.

Being on VJ gives us a leg up on what dates are being processed. Thank god they are working on July.

Next week NEEDS to be the lucky week !

you can make a service request for your petitions. You can also get your congressional office involved. One would think it would put a flame under some a$$es but it doesn't seem to do anything.
I have an attorney and even he told me there is nothing he or any other attorney can do to speed up the petition approval. You can ask for an expedite but they are super strict. Waiting in line is what I do best these days. I went for an info pass appt hoping I could get some different info..... They had NOTHING to tell me except they can only see what I can see on the USCIS website.
I chatted with them for a good 30 minutes and got useful information about other things I was asking about but nothing that pertained to my petition. It was really frustrating... especially since I got a $78.00 parking ticket too.

When Diego broke his wrist (yes, one day before our wedding, he fell from 2 stories stringing lights at my request- still feel guilty on that one), we took him to the Clinica Biblica and the treatment was excellent. BUT this a private hospital. The whole deal (x-ray, consult with ortho surgeon, cast and meds) came to about $200. On the other hand, we just had a friend who went to have her tubes tied at the public clinic and they cut her from hip bone to hip bone. Diego said it was horrifying.

He is home suffering. I think he is worried about driving the motorcycle by himself all the way down the mountain tothe hospital. I don't know how to tell him "private dentist" so he understands. I am waiting for him to call me. He couldn't talk earlier. He was in too much pain. UGHHHH this language barrier sux sometimes. I'm not sure what hospital is in Acosta. I know there is a dental clinic there because I've seen it but I don't know if it is private. I don't care about the cost. I would rather have them fix the problem then pull the tooth.

My sister-in-law had a c-section 6 years ago in Costa Rica. ( her first baby) they cut her vertically from the belly button to the pelvic bone. They did a really crappy job. I had 3 c-sections here, all cut on the same scar and the they only cut me about 8 inches at the most below the bikini line. I can wear a bikini and you can't even tell I had a c-section.

I know what you mean though...when my husband was sick awhile back, I felt terrible. I couldn't even be there to take care of him. It's like, I'm his wife and it's my duty to take care of my poor baby! I can't even do that! Such a terrible feeling!!! Yea I feel like the worst wife ever. I just talked to Tucho's Cousin. She only lives 2 houses away. She said she went to see the baby and asked where Tucho was. Tucho's sister said he was in the house sleeping. It was around 2pm Costa Rica time. He must feel really bad because Jessica said it is really a nice day. Really hot there. UGHHHH my heart... I wanna be there !!!

Narina, When I go to Costa Rica I always take two big suitcases and my carry on backpack with my laptop. In one suitcase is my stuff. The other suitcase is full of medicine and clothes and stuff for Tucho and his mom and sisters. It only costs me $25.00 for the extra bag instead of $130.00 to send a box.
I get all the J&J products for dirt cheap so I stock up while I am home and I take it with me when I go. The only thing I won't bring is infant tylenol or any infant meds because the label is not in Spanish and I won't take the responsibility if they overdose the baby. I used to work in the pharmacovigilance dept and I used to see so many adverse events come thru about people who killed thier kids because they didn't dose them according to the instructions. And these were english speaking people reading english instructions.

Thanks for wondering about my health too. I went in to the doctor on Friday to get checked out. The EKG says my heart is fine, but my blood pressure was 178/127. Dangerously high. So the doc put me on some high does BP medicine and also gave me some Lexapro to try to help my system handle all this stress.

Jen, you sound a little like my Ksenia. She keeps telling me she has so much love to give to another child. Mine are all grown and I was not planning on another little one. But when you fall in love with a younger woman, especially from a culture where children are the most important thing in life, well it looks like I'm going to be a dad again

I don't want to sound like I am pressuring you into motherhood but my personal experience is that my kids are the very best things that EVER happened to me and I can't imagine life without them. There is no other love in the world. I thank God everyday for giving them to me. Even with Julia's tumor, I wouldn't trade any of it. The only thing I would change is marrying my ex-husband. But hinde sight is 20/20. I won't go there.

I have been a paranoid freak my entire life about my weight. I always went back to my pre-pregnancy body afterwards. I don't know what will happen now that I'm so freakin' ancient .. But I don't care. I love my husband and it would all be worth it to me.

Im kinda bumming out because Tucho is suffering with some kind of infection in his mouth... He has antibiotics BUT he can't talk. His mouth is really hurting him. He just told me he needs to go to the hospital but he doesn't have anyone to take him because they are so far up the mountain. He can't drive his motorcycle himself. He sounds horrible. Times like these make me crazy. I wanna be there with him to take care of him. I feel helpless.
Medical care in CR isn't like it is here. UGHHHHHH.

Tucho called last night and I called him back to talk but the connection was sooooooo bad I couldn't really hear him. Maybe when I call today the connection will be better. He lives so far outin the mountains. I think it has alot to do with the calling card not the phone. If I call direct I can hear just fine.... Phone cards are a rip off but I don't have any other choice

i know what you mean about the tv. Jordan has many english channels, but they are all older shows and some lame ones as well. i can only pick out every 10th word of arabic so watching the arabic channels was out

my brother showed me how to get tv shows and how to download them. I just downloaded seasons 1-5 of Two and a half men. I am about to download the 6th season of One Tree Hill. ( love that show) Tucho works 12 hour shifts so it gets kinda boring. But now that he moved back with his mom I should be much more entertained even though they don't understand me. We get by.

I hope he gets here soon because my biological clock is ticking very load. I am old.

AHHHH I like the idea but I don't think it is reality.

I decided to color my hair SO I'm in the waiting 20 minutes stage... I am downloading some sitcoms for my next trip to CR. I don't understnad all spanish and it gets really annoying when I can't even watch TV and to tell you the truth... they have the DUMBEST TV programs. I can watch the soaps with my hubby and get the jist of it but I can't catch all the words. SOOOOOO annoying. I wish the bandwith was faster so I could stream in some american TV shows.

I just wrote up this long response and the stupid thing just erased it for some unknown reason #######???

I still feel disgusting. I didn't talk to my husband for almost 2 days and he just called and surprised me. It was a really bad connection but it was so good to hear his voice. I told him I still feel disgusting and he told me it is because of the baby. So, I guess he is ok with the idea...hmmmmm.
He is having dental issues and is on antibiotics. He said he couldn't work yesterday because he couldnt talk. hmmmm
Anyway... this is how our life is. I really want to be there with him. I was chatting on WIndows Live with his cousin who lives two houses away from him. She bought a internet card so we could chat. I miss Costa Rica so much.

My 8 year old loves snakes and reptiles and all that gross stuff. She would be so into having something like that for a pet. But for me, one dog is too much. Anyone want a dog? he's a good boy ! you can have him for free. Really !!!

ya, thats it Narina. just plants was the initial plan anyway, but then i thought some lizards,newts or toads would be neat. That was a fleeting though..too much work lol

I just wanted to see if I have this right. If I apply for a K-3 visa, does it include my children under the cost? My US spouse sends in the I 130 for me which is $355. Then we send in the I-129F for $455 which includes my 3 children at no extra cost. Is this correct? I know that we have to pay the cost of the medical for all four of us. Then once we get to the USA, I can file for AOS which is $1010 for me and since I am applying for my children at the same time, it would be $600 for each one of them. Do I have it right?

I130 for me $355
I129F for me and 3 children $455
AOS for me $1010
AOS for 3 children 1800

Total $3620

I think you need a separate I-130 for each kid and they waive the K-3 fee since there is an I-130 for you. I believe the I-129F is only for you

Hey Everybody. Just got home. Was out all day. I found this ghetto store in Philly that has all kinds of cool spanish stuff. I bought an American flag and a Costa Rican flag. I'm hanging them in my room. HA And I bought these cute little things that say cute little love blurbs in spanish. I am not sure if I will keep them or send them to Tucho. Tucho was in a "RAW" mood today. He is mad because he has to work on the weekend.

Tomorrow is a new day. I was thinking about laying off the computer tomorrow. Maybe its like watching a pot of water boil or watching the grass grow...its so addicting though. I really don't want to go to work tomorrow. UGHHHH.
We are supposed to get between 8" and 12" of snow in the Philadephia area tonight. at least I can wear jeans to work ...HAHAHAHAHA and the kids can sleep in.

I am feeling old. All this talk about babies makes me sad because my biological clock is really loud these days. Time is a tickin' Its a huge reminder that my time is running out.

I went to the Pennsauken Flea Market today. It is in New Jersey. Actually, right over the Tacony Palmyra Bridge. 2 minutes from Philly. It was cold and windy. I bought a pair of Timberland boots for my husband and two bottles of perfume for myself. The boots were only $40.00. Real or fake, I don't care.
Now I'm home trying to get warm.

About the weather... I b!tch and complain about the cold and the heat and the humidity in the summer but I have to say... I think I would really miss having 4 seasons if I had to move away from Philly. I love Costa Rica, but the rainy season really sucks. I have curly hair so when it rains I just feel hideaous.

VERMONT K-3 Any Approvals Week 26 Jan'09

HAHAHAHA not a honeymoon but maybe a bit similar !
I am leaving on Saturday morning . My flight leaves at 7:15 am. I arrive in CR at 2:15pm . His cousin is meeting me at the airport since he is working until 6pm. I'm not sure I want to take a taxi by myself now. Anyway, Jessica will be there this time. Alot of the employees at the airport know me by name. I love that !!!

I am dying to talk with him today. I know he is sleeping now because he worked all night til 6am this morning.

I am sure he will call me when he wakes up and finds a public phone where I can call him back.
UGHHH I miss him

Today is 218 days that my papers have been in process at VSC. 218 happens to be a lottery number I used to play way back when I was in High School. I feel optimistic today. Maybe 218 is lucky. I feel like I should go play the daily number. Maybe box it for a few bucks. Something needs to happen today... Approvals, Lottery winnings SOMETHING!!
