K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	What is the LONGEST this can take? Getting tired of waiting...	UPDATE: Got my NOA2 e-mail notice TODAY!!! Waiting for the mail!!! It's been approved, no RFE's, now we can focus on paying the fees and getting an interview set up!! your file will get sent to the NVC.  Processing there is 4-6 months. The timelines posted are only a guide. The senators didn't help me. If they told you that your file is undergoing security checks, the only thing you can do is wait. I have been there, done that. HA HA when I finally get to be with my husband it will be very difficult for me to stay thin. He is so skinny. He can and will eat anything at anytime. When I visit him iin Costa Rica he insists that I eat everything he gives me or his mother gives me to eat. I eat it out of respect but I am feeling guilty the whole time. K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	VERMONT K-3 Any APPROVALS week of FEB 17, 2009	ok heres what happened I called... got a nasty newbie. Kept putting me on hold to ask questions.. I asked for a service request. she verified that i was out of range. Then she asked me if I requested any kind of service request . I said " yes, I inquired about my expedite request and found out it was denied" She said hold on..... then she came back and said I had to wait 61 days to put in another service request. I argued with her and told her I was told the expedite was totally different then the petitions. ( which I was told by USCIS) she argued back and told me I will have to wait and then got real snippy with me. I hung up on her and called back 2 seconds later . I got the nicest man ( Chad) and he put in a service request for my I129F not the I130. He said since I filed the k-3 it slows the processing down on the petition side but once it is approved the K-3 flies thru the visa process. So, he was nice enough to put in a service request for a file that wasn't even out of date range AND was so nice about it. I thanked him for being so nice. He was very appreciative. He did confirm that they go by the K-3 date ( not that I doubted you Lisa) So my priority date is July 29th. I know they are working on July. Hopefully with this service request, it will put a flame under someones rump. Maybe they will pull my file out from under the leg of the desk and process the SOB so I can be with my hubby !!! He told me the stand alone CR-1's gets processed faster in the petiton side but could take an extra 6 months to a year on the VISA side. I am definately going with the K-3. There was a short window back in the fall maybe? where it appeared they were using the 130 dates, but generally its you k3 date. When you file for the 130(cr1) you get a priority date on your noa. Once you tie a 129f to that petition, the 129f's priority date becomes your "place in line". Thats why you see people who filed k3's(129f) long after their 130NOA1, get approved later than the "trend". did that makes sense, cuzz Im having a bad morning and cant tell :heh: Thanks... I noticed that in January it was taking ppl 8 months to get approved but seems they got energized and are catching up and are now approving most ppl within the 7 mons window (Hope we are next JEN< SERENDIPITY, ANGEL and ME!!) probably cz they used our files for coasters for their coffees and became so energized from all the boost and started reviewing files quicker And Jen, I really love the term Limbo Land but here goes my revised version of the tradition: Yeah VSC, thanks for using my file as coaster for morning coffee, afternoon coffee or early evening coffee...Please keep using it as long as needed and feel free to place it under any wobbly table that needs an extra boost. Thank you for granting me the opportunity to visit LIMBO LAND and FOG LAND cz I had only been to places like DISNEYLAND b4 this process started OKAY now let's turn it back around cz this whole backward thing is freaking me out Keep up the good work. I told him I have been feeling like #######... he said " maybe you're pregnant" and then he said " take care of my baby" he has me thinking now.hmmmmmmm I really think it is all this stress I am feeling. Although I never get emotional like I have been for the last 2 weeks. ughhhhh I just need an approval so I will feel less stress. We are going to file the I-130 for my step-son. no lawyers though. They told me they have no different information to tell me. Only what is on the website and they said I have access to the same things they do. She did explain the process to me in more detail though. Told me my case is probably taking longer due to our circumstances. I was very upset and was trying not to cry. She told me not to get upset over something that hasn't happened and may never happen. I don't know what I will do if I can't be with my husband. I am worried sick about everything. They told me all I can do is wait. I made the appt by the skin of my teeth. I even got a $76.00 parking ticket because parking was only til 4pm and I got to my car at 4:05. Only me ! She pretty much dampened my spirit. I asked her "What about Muslim men coming from Western countries?" Then she told me about a UK citizen that's been in AP for a year, but he was Arab. So I'm really depressed about it. I'm trying to think through the situation and tell myself, if it happens, logically, what will I do? But I can't seem to think about it without crying. I keep trying to prepare myself and do this roll playing thing in my head...but then I just picture my husband telling me, "They said they need to review" and after that I just lose it...just thinking about it now is making me cry I don't know...maybe I'm just being over emotional... Hey, I really need you guys to be approved!!! I need my friends with me to get through NVC and the consulate steps! I can't survive anymore issues, let alone an AP notice alone!!! He wants $2850.00 for the entire process. It includes everything. What of I file the I130 for my step-son on my own ? Is it difficult if it is a straight forward petition? He is 7. The attorney said he will most likely get a GC even if my husband doesn't. And he wouldn't even be living here all the time. he would go back and forth because his mother is in CR. ( still do... dn't know what my problem is) I keep thinking how nice it is to have my friends on VJ who actually understand how I feel. The customer service person who took my call insisted that Vermont is still working on April 1st. I told him to save the BS. I know there are approvals from late Aug. He told me to get their case numbers and take it up with my congressional officer. I have this pit in my stomach just thinking about this waiver I will probably have to submit. My attorney told me last night there is a good chance they may approve him without a waiver. And all along I thiought it would be a definate denial at the interview... He told me to relax. ( ha, easy for him to say... his wife is home with him) My mom tells me not to worry about things that haven't happened yet but I am the kind of person who likes to be prepared. I want to know what to expect or not to expect. Why does the government approve the work visa's in 2 months when there aren't enough jobs for the American's and the people who are here legally already and then they take eons to process a K-3 so a family can be together? Financially, it is better for all of us to have our spouses here for that second income. How many people overstay after receiving a work visa? I'm sure there are MANY and then they get married and just adjust their status if they are under 180 days.... right???? They avoid everything we are going through. I don't see how that is fair.
