It's funny now Cat, but when it happened I couldn't even talk and the funny thing is, the whole wall is mirrored in from of the steps so I saw it all in the mirror as I was tumbling down.

And that whole slow motion thing......I'm so clumsy, I would never laugh at you for this one.

That's how I am with almost any Cirque du Soleil show! I saw BMG in Vegas & it was fun! Not sure I'd pay to see it again though. I would pay to see Stomp again though if you like that kinda thing.

I think Google is headquartered in my area.

    That is a HOT AZZ MESS!! And why come he got a camel toe in the 2nd pic? He tuck that thing somewhere???

I won tickets to Stomp one year. It was a pretty good show. Love the broom act.

Hold up now you going to far missy, You think I am calling my self lazy, or my mother that was a single mom for 18 years with me, or my grandmother that my grandfather left with 11 kids, so she could raise all to be great men and women of our family.

Of course not, Im sorry I didnt say some Americans but I You know I definitely didnt mean all.

Sorry, girlie. I wasn't dissing you in my post. I have just heard that from a lot of JA and it always hits a nerve with me. I spend my money cause i worked hard for my money.

Know you didn't mean it that way. I apologize if it sounds like I jumped on you at all.

We are in the eyes of others in countries where it is hard. We take alot for granted and think its suppose to be given to us!!! And it makes others that come here think in a way that is suppsoe to happen.

IMO that is the case sometimes not all the time but sometimes.

Agree with it or not but you cant deny what is right in our face.

Well, IMO, it's cause they see us on VACATION, relaxing and unwinding. If they think that's all we do is sit around on some beach with a drink in our hand and money just floats down into our hands, that's their problems.

They're still there JG...it wasn't easy, but they made it work. They didn't go right away. One waited until her kids were in high school and they went to live with their dad. That was a 6 year wait, but she traveled back and forth to Jamaica to see her husband. They found work, though it took time. Teaching the other is a nurse can't remember what the other one did for a living. She may have opened a school. My friend who didn't move down until her kids finished highschool -- her kids would spend the entire summer in Jamaica and the oldest goes to UWI.

I could never see it for me. But, I always find it interesting when people can do that. I wish them well.

JQ -- you can also do the same in Jamaica. It's not easy back home, but people do make it out there.

Forbes...I don't know your whole situation and what kind of support system he has back home, if any. Now, jobs a very -- extremely difficult to come by unless you're well educated or you know someone on the inside or have some kind of connection to the place you're seeking employment. Maybe your husband has a plan, who knows. I have several friends (American) who moved back with their husbands because the husband didn't like life here. It didn't happen right away it took time but they moved to Jamaica as well. We'll chat more.

How did they fare, Tre?

Oh and JG... I am sure Molly takes care of her stuff better than my wild child! LOL
Tierra is not a "respecter of fine things!" ....

Molly's first one ended up with the head torn off....It was like 3 years old by then. Her brother and her wrestled with the giant Raggedy Ann and Andy till they tore the arms, legs, and heads off and I had to sew them back on so my mom wouldn't see the made to order dolls she was so proud of were disabled. And, don't even get me started about the 20 guinnea pigs we ended up with, the thousands of beeds or 10 lbs. of rice strewn all over her bedroom! She has issues at times.

I can take a book from the library for free and teach Tierra history, buy a doll and her a matching outfit (which I have done) all for less than 1/2 the cost of the doll. :)
It is a nice concept but just too much money.

For me, it's like Vegas.........When you GO, you KNOW. I have to bring you some pics in.

i have been saying i was gonna do mine since my granny died.. she had her and her husband and her children all prepaid for burials..

I did mine when I was 21. Always knew what I wanted. I made payments. When I go, they come get me and take care of it. I want a memorial service after at my Church. And then everyone to go to my favorite bar and have a good time.

I am all for cremation - One part of my family has travelled (and now some moved) to a beach area for years - everyone in the family is cremated when they have passed, and their ashes are scattered on the same beach. With the first person, this really pretty blue butterfly appeared and was flying around us all - Since then, there is one more butterfly each time someone passes - and the only place down there we see them is on this beach.

I know the CT Lawyers are doing a ton of probono work for this, probably NY too - Here is a link to the CT attorney info, they have clinics, etc...

Ya'll were killing me with the money stories, but Irie's took the cake. I never heard of coins being stored in the "third pocket."

JG, why do you want to beat William Shatner in the head?

I got a call from a Google recruiter a few years ago about moving west & working there. I wasn't interested in moving west. But the fact that employees get to spend 1 day/week working on their own initiatives is awesome, as well as the lunches.

SunRay, I don't understand the rooms for breastfeeding. They just started that at my job a couple of years ago. But I never ever ever see women with their newborns at work, so I wonder when they would use those rooms.

MrsTee, any updates on the wedding certificate?

KJenkins, congrats on your man's arrival!

hey ya'll!!! wanna thank EVERYBODY for the love on yesterday.. texts, fb comments everything.. i love my i-family!!!!!!!!!!

i am thankful that we all got to be with my dad his last mnth.. we talked and laughed and i know it was God cuz he could have easily died without us having this chance..

question...what do you think about cremation.. i personally have nothing against it, but some familymembers are tripping for real.. my dad has no money and cremation is the most affordable route but for a couple more hundred we could have just a gravesite burial w/ no head stone..
just looking for a lil more knowledge on the subject

I am pre-paid for cremation.

It's a personal choice. I saw "Poltergeist".....that's pretty much all I am saying on it in public in case I offend anyone.

God, "consequences to your actions".......I've said that about a million times.

Yeah, that place is ridiculous. I could just imagine paying that much and coming home to see the doll in the middle of the floor. We would definitely have a problem! I told her to tell her dad she wanted one

It's more then a doll.....they are all from different eras of history. There is learning involved. Role playing. Plus, the fact that it's how I got my daughter to respect her things. Not to mention, she looked so darn cute dressed like her doll. I have to scan some pics for you. You will crack up.

We started out with the Bitty Baby. It's like $36. Or was when I got it. She was like 2 at the time.
We just moved her a few weeks ago...saw dolls in a box. Her dolls look great. She's almost 15 now.

We stayed by at a Hampton in by Midway airport. We would take their shuttle to the airport (free) and ride the train into downtown so we didn't have to park either.

Okay it is the same distance to get there but you can drive a lot faster in the car and not make as may stops. We rented a car for $10 a day and drove up there.

I fly into O'Hare when I fly. I actually like to stay just off Michigan.

I've been in the front row 5 times. LOVE them. Gotta see them at Briar Street Theatre in Chicao though. Not the same in a big venue like Vegas. Where you stay for that?

I've only stayed in that hotel with the "Married with Children" fountain in front of it....Congress Parkway or something like that, the Marriott on Wabash (?)...right off michigan, and some piece of ####### hotel where the heat didn't work and the windows wouldn't close.

We can take the Megabus for like $8 each way if you book early enough. I don't like the drive much. I took the train ONCE.....it was late pulling in to St. Louis. I sat next to the freakin' hottest guy I had ever seen at the time---he would not shut up the entire time. 6 hours of him talking. I begged my daughter and our neighbor to trade with me for hours. I wanted to poke a fork in my eye about halfway through the trip.

Flying is the best....it's like up and then down...something like a 45 min. flight.

I have to warn you guys, I ALWAYS see Blue Man Group in Chicago. I'm going with or without you guys.

Hello All,

Today I am just tired. My husband is driving me up a wall. He claims he wants to move back to Jamaica as he can't take the stress of living in the US. I am to the point that maybe it is best because I can't take the stress of him stressing me out.
I thought by now he would have adjusted (going on 2 years) but just about everyday I hear, "JA is so much better. No stress, You can do what you want when you want".

Mind you I explained to him when he came:
1) We are now in a recession so finding a job won't be easy....He got a job at a prestigous hospital.
2) The money they are paying now is not the best....Most jobs are not paying high pay rates but want twice the work.
3) Make sure you explain to your daughter that you will not be able to take care of her forever. She needs to get a job...We are still paying for the granddaughter and her.
4) The plans I had for my life in the US is not going well...Continue to pray and when it is your time. It's your time.
5) So many bills... Yes if you had listen to me instead of your so call 'new friends' you would not have those bills.

Help Me!!!!

Oh girl. I'm so sorry. Hugs my friend.

mek dem tan deh...I like BBC news, but they just drag things out I mean they kept asking people over and over how they felt and at the bottom of the screen they had text translating what some of the people were saying. when I started watching they were just talking to street vendors in Kingston then it switched to people in the Mobay area. I was like damn I hope they know this is not how the entire island is thinking.

And you thought the embassy was rough on the drug testing issue before..............

Girl, let me share a story with you with from when I was about age 15 and went to a Whoodini concert. I put my money in my bra for my t-shirt and food and stuff. I was so excited. Girl I got to the concert and when it was time to go buy stuff, I was looking all over for my money about to cry because I couldn't believe I had lost it. Got home and was taking off my shirt and the damn 20's were stuck to my titty. I just about fell out. Since then, I don't do that anymore.

I had Tia and Kristi from ETJ visit me here in St. Louis. We spent about an hour frantically searching the car, the luggage, the street..... for Tia's credit card so she could check into the hotel. Guess where it was????????????

There was a documentary abt gangs in Jamaica anybody seen it?

Yep. I youtubed it one day. Scary stuff. Led me to St. Louis gangs which freaked me out even more. :crying:
