I could just hug you right now JG.. you know how long Ive been looking for a site with bras for my size Posted Image Thank you

I am just a wealth of useless information.

You are right but the downside to that is when you file ead seperately it takes just as long to come (they say about 3 months) that is why they suggest you file with AOS because its included in the cost of 1010.00 filing fee. You may end up spending an extra 340 for nothing. They not gonng let no one work before their time.. thats the government with our tax money at work!

That is exactly what happend to us. It sucked so bad. I didn't ask first. My fault.

Anybody on here deal with their ex badmouthing their new hubby to the kids. If so, how did that work for them? And, what did you do to fix it?

That would have teeded me off to its like come on yawl just work with me. You don't have to do back flips but don't be rude. I'm so scared when I remarry because my oldest son has already told me he doesn't wanna see me with no one. He actually told me he doesn't want me to refer to my X husband as his dad anymore. I knew their relationship was strained but I didn't think it was that bad.

LOL. Ok, good! You all had me nervous! Posted Image

The problem will then be you have to wait for AOS to get it renewed then. No working in between.
*JG*FemaleJamaica2010-06-04 11:08:00
Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardies a home and a farrin - Part 26!

I think it is a little different. When you come in on a K-1 you can apply for an EAD right away. A lot of people don't because if you file with your AOS, there is no additional cost for that document. If you file them separately its an additional $340. My fiance wanted to get started working as soon as possible rather than waiting almost 2 months for our wedding and then another 3 months or so for the AOS and EAD approval. If all goes well, he should be able to start working as soon as we get back from our honeymoon!

Posted Image Sorry. JAE is right.

I came home one day to find Andre and my kids out front with candles and these Cardinals, Snowmen, and JA-Santa CD thingees we had made. The neighbor had a pot belly pig and people were always stopping to look at that ugly thing on the front lawn. They thought they would sell some stuff when people stopped. They were discussing adding food and drink later that evening.

I just walked away from that fiasco.

I suggested to my hubby when he got here to volunteer like at Goodwill or Habitat for Humanity. This way they could put that on their resume and it would look better once they can work. Plus they could be networking at these places as well. Of course he did not take my advice but I think it really would have helped when he was looking for a job.

Mawnin all!!

Just booked ten days in Jamaica!!

I normally get hotels via skyauction.com, the Jamaica Grande auctions never usually go lower than $30 as a base price. Won an auction yesterday for $5 base per night!! So for me, my husband and my son will be $1200 for 14 nights!!!
I paid MORE in 2003 for the Grande!!!

If anyone has upcoming trips to Ja, I would suggest you bag a bargain now!

I'm excited for you Dada...girl its exciting.

What is wrong with you ladies? Way too nice.

OK,so you may have to compromise a little. Here's the thing.......stay at the nice resort as a compromise. You sure can leave her butt there a lot easier then if she's scared of yard. You know? Tell her ahead of time "this is what I'm doing today (tomorrow) whenever. You can go with me or you can stay here and chill on resort. I'll be back when I get back. And, if you decide to tag along, I don't want to hear a peep of complaint cause I can stick you butt back in a taxi to the resort.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardies a home and a farrin - Part 26!

The trip was good - Started off with a nasty nasty customs byatch, lol - but then it was fine - We first went to Negril, where I linked up with Sonshyne and Morantbay (for you OTs who remember, lol) - Western Consciousness got postponed due to rain - But we did go see Etana and IWayne at the Jungle - we left before Stephen Marley came on. We had talked about driving from there and stopping in Alligator Pond then through Kingston to Portland, but with everything else going on we ended up driving through Mo Bay and Ochi to Portland - Spent a week there, lots of rain - then headed back to Mo Bay earlier than we planned (we had had enough rain, lol) - We stayed at a little guest house up the road from the police station - Nice and quiet, totally relaxed.

One thing that shocked me about Mo Bay was how much seems to be gone - Many shops on the Hip Strip were bare and closed, and the shops that did have stuff had old, moldy stuff at way higher prices - We were talking to one of the shop owners and he said they are having a harder time getting goods.

Why harder time? Cause of the Kingston thing?

I'm having trouble reading your tone here. I'm sure your last sentence is sarcasm (right?)
What is unbelievable? The good fact that your father was sent home so soon? Or the bad fact that he had a heart attack at 72?

Coincidentally, my aunt went to the ER last week thinking she had a heart attack due to heavy chest pain. They ran a ton of tests & determined that it was a potassium deficiency causing the pain. We're glad that's all it was.

The fact that they pretty much put a band aid on him and kicked him out, Nat.

Wow! What a weekend. Lots of friends and fun. We went camping Saturday night....swimming, boating, 4 wheeling. It was sooooooooooo fun. Sunday morning, I had a rude awakening. My dad was rushed to the ER at 3:30 a.m. He had a heart attack. We zoomed home.

4 blockage...2 they didn't seem worried about too much. 2 stents. Loaded him up with Plavix and some diet and exercise tips. Sent him home Monday afternoon. Kind of unbelievable to me since he's 72 years old.

My family loves the medical drama on holiday weekends.

I do not know what it is to walk in your shoes so cannot pass judgment on your decision.

In Jamaica, it would be a foregone conclusion that you would take the child. That is probably why your husband said he would take the child, in Jamaica, the question would even arise, it would be assumed that the child would be taken in.
I know you are saying that your daughter needs to adjust, but what is the alternative if no-one takes your niece? Foster care?
This is probably one of the biggest cultural difference between Americans and Jamaicans. Here, it's no biggie. The though is, well I can't be inconvenienced, so while I'd like to take the child I can't. In Jamaica, there's a sense of responsibility, no matter how it is going to be worked out, it is going to have to be worked out.

Your husband is probably finding how you think incomprehensible right now because it is so far removed from what he would expect to do.

Hope you make the right decision.

I've seen this a handful of times JAE and I get what you are saying. But, when I've seen it, the women.....and yes, I am saying women, cause there were no men involved in the care of the children then......had no business taking another child in. They couldn't even support themselves or the ones already in their care.

The sense of responsibility is what it is. But, so is the economic and emotional issues attached to this. I agree, I would hate foster care. And, if that were the last resort, I would definately bite the bullet and take her in. But, if there is anyone else to care for the child, I would do exactly what is being proposed here.

Girl BOOM
My family feels that since I have a great income with my hubby and we have a house and some kids already we should take her. Im like hell to the no!!!!!!!! Posted Image

My dad spoke to my hubby about it (behind my back Posted Image ) and he said yes!

I told him do you remember that my baby is graduating the 1st of July and will need to be here in that month. \How can we take another child?

I feel that its going to be so different for her to adjust and understand whats going on and another child would just shadow that, because my family willbe coming to get my neice like she is a princess.

I dont want nothing to overshadow my baby coming. This is her time'

I asked my dad why can the take her??, my step mom works and he dont Posted Image He is there all day

Dont forget im still working full time and so is my hubby. Thats alot

Hubby got pissed and said that if it was his brother daughter he would take her.

I said thats all fine and dandy, but Moy Moy need to adjust first Posted Image then lets see what we are doing. Posted Image

Im not even thinking of the baby in my stomach im just thinking of her right now.

My dad is in a good situation to take her right now.

maybe later we can take her but my dad has had custody of her before when my sister has cut up. and been in and out of jail.

I dont care of this sounds selfish, its overwhelming Posted Image

hey always tell the baby I said heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

It doesn't sound selfish at all, girly. adding 3.....yes 3 more kids to that house would be overwhelming to anyone. And, face it, hubby is still adjusting as well. You are thinking with your head, my friend. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. I think it's the right thing to do.

Same thing happens with us. And Mikel is so stubborn that if they don't say good-bye or good night even he won't suck it up and say it to them. Ohhhhh and if they don't say good afternoon to him when the get home from school you would think the world ended. Now this is from Marley and Jazz so it might just be a kid thing and not defiant step child thing going on Q. Think about it...we have never had to have such a formal greeting with them for their entire lives. I would always pick Marley up from daycare/school and just start rippin and running with justher. Our hello was just seeing each other but now that Mikel is here there is more formality with greetings. Did I just make any sense at all?
