IMBRA Special TopicsLets collect some information about IMBRA effects

I have been watching the processing out of Nebraska as well and it seems that they are pretty slow. Still trying to figure out how this new law is going to affect times. I have also noticed that nothing as been done with my application since it was received on March 24th. Is it common not to even have your application touched??[color=#3366FF]

Our application's status said updated 3/03/06, until it was touched AND approved on May 8. I don't know if they approved the application in one day, or it they just didn't update the status.

It is so unfair that you have had to wait so long!
It must be really frustrating when they won't even give a reason for the delay.

I hope you hear something soon.

USCIS Service CentersIts a miracle! CSC updated its processing info!

K-1 visas are being processed with the receipt date of march 03. it took them 3 weeks to update their info.

Our NOA1 date was March 1 and we were approved in May!
I don't think their dates are very accurate.

United KingdomInvitations

I really need to order our wedding invitations...as time is getting on.......but with not having an interview date i am so worried that if i order them, we will not have the interview in time or maybe not even be approved and if i dont order them and then do get approved i wont have time to order them..i know that lots of people are in the same boat..what are peoples thoughts?

I am going to order our invitations as soon as we find out when the interview is scheduled.

Our timeline is a couple weeks after yours, so I check your timeline often. It helps me estimate when we should be expecting things!

I have flown on BMI and I liked it.
Have fun!

I'm flying on U.S. Airways for the first time--in 3 and a half weeks(the countdown has started).
I usually fly on British Airways.

United KingdomAnybody still waiting for interview at London??

Hmmm.. that was quick.. I updated my time line so that you can see when I sent off packet 3. It has been 15 days now which seems in line with what others have reported. It probably takes an extra couple of days to get all the way to the Isle of Lewis. Anyway, I e-mailed the embassy 2 days ago asking if I had been assigned a date so if there is a problem it should come to light soon..... Keeping my fingers crossed.

You sent your packet 3 in a few days after we did--we sent it on June 16. We got packet 4 on July 1, so I am sure yours will arrive soon.

Good luck!

United KingdomMedial Timelimit
The medical is good for one year--but if you do it too soon it might expire before AOS--then you will have to get another examination.
Also, I believe there is a number on packet 3 that you need in order to book the medical.

United Kingdomgoign to visit fiance in UK

Yikes. I will take what I have then from the States. I'm going over for a friend's wedding (only 10 days) so I think it will all be fine. Plus I know his family very well.

If you are going for a friend's wedding--you should just say that--because that is the truth.

Hey guys!! I got a date!! Wohoo!! Though it is the 1st of September which is a little late for me so I have e-mailed to see if they will bring it forward. Do you think it is worth having my finace contact the DOS as well to ask about another date?
Anyway I am very releived to no longer be 'lost in the system'.

I'd be scrambling too, I TRY to help as much as I can even if Paul doesn't need it (which he mostly doesn't :)). I'd rather give too much than look unsupportive. I hope he gets some sleep, I'm sure he'll have a great interview tomorrow!

Joey

Thanks!
He is on the train right now--but he almost didn't get on! The train company had overbooked and there were a lot of angry people who had purchased tickets and didn't have a place on the train. Evidently he got the last berth!

United KingdomTravel to London Consulate

Why are you asking?

I just can not believe as a grown male that another grown male is that helpless. Embarrasing for my gender.

A lot easier getting from Euston to the Embassy than Heathrow to the Embassy.

Get off train.

Walk to Cab rank.

Say American Embassy, please.

Get out of cab.

Pay cab.

I would jump on the tube, but that might be asking too much.

I really don't think that amount of rudeness or sarcasm is necessary. I am the FEMALE U.S. citizen and I am not familiar with London, but I am completely stressed that 16 hours before our interview we are making alternative travel arrangements. While my fiance was trying to buy a train ticket on-line, I thought I would ask for some help here at VJ.

To the others who offered advice--thank you!!!
Stephen was able to get a train for tonight and will arrive in London at 7am.
I hope he is able to get some sleep on the train!

Our interview is tomorrow and Stephen was planning on flying into Heathrow--I don't think that will work now.
We are checking the train schedules.
Does anyone know which station is closest?
The train website gave me a station called Euston--how far is that from the embassy?

He is traveling from Glasgow, Scotland.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ours is Friday.

United Kingdomhow long until the visa interview in London?
Every case is different, but you can get an estimate by looking at other people's timelines.
Click on "Immigration Timelines" and then sort for UK. I used this to guess when we would get packet3, packet4 and an interview date--I was only a day or two off from the actual date everytime.

Good luck to you!

 Still no visa!!!! GRRRRRRR

I don't understand the delay--your interview was actually before ours--by 30 minutes. But you would think that the visas would be delivered on the same day.
I hope you get it soon!

United KingdomVisa in hand!
Stephen received his visa today!
The courier service had originally said they would deliver it on Tuesday, then called back to say they could only deliver on Tuesday if he paid an addition 18 pounds! He said he could wait until Wednesday.
They delivered his passport and the "Do Not Open" envelope at 8:30 this morning--his time--I was sleeping when he called to tell me.
pnd629FemaleUnited Kingdom2006-08-16 10:53:00

I posted in your other "no visa yet" thread, but I think you deserve 2 congratulations because you had to wait so long!

United KingdomMBE at UK airports?

I was just wondering if anyone had a problem with their brown envelopes when leaving the UK? With the new security measures, are they allowing the envelopes to come with us on the plane? We can't send it on Hold baggage as baggage claim is done after customs, at least that's what I understand...

This measures are such a pain in the a$$ and I don't think they are making much of a diference to be honest...

Anyway, can anyone help?

I think the airlines are still allowing people to bring a purse or bag on board--to carry medication, a toothbrush, book, pair of glasses, etc. You just can't bring a suitcase.
