Like anything, sometimes you get what you pay for. They may use a poorer quality underlay, padding, carpet, etc! Lot of bad reviews about Empire. They are known to quote you a low estimate (not in ur case, lol) then when it comes to the actual payment, they nickel and dime you to death. Lot of not so good stories about home depot too, lol But of course, people are more likely to post something if they have received bad service, vice good.

Hehehehe, well we don't interact a great deal as it is our backyards that connect and there is a huge hill and a run-off creek between us, but they have always seemed very nice when we do see each other. It is a woman and her teenage son originally from the Caribbean. She works at the library so I suspect that is where she picks up all of these interesting contacts. The neighbours next door to her are also nice even though we don't share backyards - we are sort of 'waving' neighbours.

Yeah, I figure the biggest cost saving is the original quoters were just 2 men working together rather than a team of 6 so would take a lot longer so more hours involved. They were also going to put chicken wire underneath the concrete (these guys didn't) but we had debated if that was going to be necessary anyway, plus the guys who did do the work had the concrete already and would have had to pay for what they didn't use, so this way they got to use it all. So, yeah, we can definitely pleased about the money we saved!

I trust you are ensuring all these workers are "legally" able to work in the USA? lol kicking.gif

Good morning, all.

1. I go to the Domincan on Friday! WOOO!

2. Nev- I hate HOA's. I was under the impression we couldn't have a bbq because we don't have steps leading down from our back porch to the ground where all the bbqs are supposed to be. Our porch is completely closed in and we aren't allowed to have a bbq on there. But, then I saw our neighbours grilling in their driveways and I was really mad because I felt like a hot dog. haha

3. Wow is it ever hot. 90 yesterday.

4. Is it just me, or does any one ever question unncessary nudity in films? Yesterday I was watching the movie Role Models and even though it had a lot of stupid humour in it, it wasn't like an American Pie flick...at least not 100%. Twice there were screen shots of a woman's breasts. Now, what do people get out of that? Are woman's breasts funny? Is a man sitting in the audience drooling over seeing breasts for..a split second? I don't get what it really does for the movie.

I belive it has to do with the fire code, and each state, municipality is different, so its not always a HOA thing, and some people just ignore it,lol

Our neighbors are going to kill us. In Pahoa we had coqui frogs. A frog that chirps loudly all night long. They're not native to the island, and in the Puna area (where we used to live) they had taken over the rain forest. You seriously have to turn the TV volume way up at night because they're so loud. I find them soothing, but pretty much everyone on this island wants them dead.

So we don't have any at our new house since we live in a drier area. I was just telling Chris how quiet it was at night here without them.

AND THEM IT STARTED. One must have caught a ride from Pahoa with us and is somewhere outside chirping away. Our neighbors are going to kill us, if they start chirping all night long. I'm going to have to go outside to find it and hopefully kill it.

I wil try and stay on your good side!!

I forget the proper medical terminology, but some babies are born with both sexes, and parents have to make the decision on what sex the child should be, and of course they do guess wrong. I guess many of us do laugh it the situation, but in reality, these fine people are trapped in a body they do not feel attached to, and it is a HUGE decision to have these types of surgeries! Takes some real guts and courage!

The skating rink brings out the WORST in many parents! last yr I was at the rink watching young kids practice, man the parents were idiots! 1 guy even opened up the main door, yelled at his kid to bust his Azz over to him, then just screamed at his kid!! Was pretty sad. I would estimate these kids were 11,12. Just let them go and have fun! I'm heading off back to the land of palm trees and coconuts in a few minutes.

When I checked in this morning, I managed to snag a seat in the 6th row behind first class (meaning more leg room). And no one is booked to sit next to me. Oh please let this be the case when I get on the plane.

On the flight over, I was booked in the exit row near the aisle. Meaning tons of leg room. Just before we leave, this guys walks up and asks is we can trade seats, since I'm sitting next to his wife in the other aisle and their coming home from their honeymoon. Wifey-poo is looking all doe-eyed at me. I'd have to be the tin-man to say no. So I trade seats. I didn't even ask where he was sitting.

Window seat, next to the mom and nanny with twin 8 week old babies and a two-year old from hell. Though the family was nice and babies were cute, it was not a relaxing flight.

Sorry, I would be a jerk, lol I'm one of those people that log on 24 hrs ahead to get my seat, SOOO I want that seat, lol If you want that seat, guess you should have logged on earlier!! lol
